Jamie nodded. Every Quidditch position required a lot of strategy studying. Of all of them, Beaters probably had it easiest, since Bludgers were inherently random and one couldn’t really prepare for that. It was all about angles, though, knowing which way to hit the Bludger so that it made it to the intended target. Dastan said that there were too many ways to score, and Jamie shrugged. She wasn’t sure if ‘too many’ was the language that she would use, but she understood where Dastan was coming from. “Sometimes Seekers make the game go on forever, though.” Jamie pointed out. If they weren’t quick enough to the Snitch, or if they were holding off in order to make sure that their team had the lead, then Seekers could easily double or triple the length of a Quidditch game. When Dastan asked if she wanted to keep going, Jamie shrugged again. “Are you tired? I’m still good to go, but I’m fine quitting if you want to.” She said.

Dastan shrugged at her comment about Seekers. She was right, sometimes the game was very long because of them, but he couldn't imagine searching for that golden ball. It seemed like the least fun position to play, though he respected the people that did. It just wasn't one that he would enjoy. Dastan preferred for people to be able to see his efforts, not just see him flying around looking for a speedy ball. Then Jamie said that she would be good continuing if he wanted to and Dastan hesitated. He enjoyed playing with Jamie, but the wind was picking up and it was getting late. He forced his competitive side to step down. "It's getting late, so I think it's best if we stop," he told her after a few seconds, "but we could do this again soon?" If she wanted, that was, but she wanted to play with him this time so he didn't see why she wouldn't want to do it again.

Jamie hadn’t even realized what time it was until Dastan said it was growing late. That was one of the good things about practicing with someone else – they could remind her of basic human needs like food and sleep. It wasn’t that Jamie forgot to eat or sleep when she was practicing…just that sometimes she didn’t even notice the time had flown by. Dastan offered to practice again soon, and Jamie nodded happily. “Just send me an owl or grab me in the Great Hall!” She told Dastan. Honestly, it wasn’t impossible that the two of them would just happen to meet on the pitch again, but Jamie wanted Dastan to know that she was being fine contacted whenever. Raising her hand in farewell, Jamie landed and began to head towards the locker room.
