Last night was.... well, what Maria did remember was more then unpleasant. She'd woken up once since then to find herself in the Hogwarts Hospital wing.Viola must have gone to get help... or something. Or else would she have ended up here? There was a healer, working on her self inflicted burns. When they noticed Maria waking she was given a sleeping potion that successfully knocked her out the rest of the night. It was a good thing, because she'd just begun to remember those last few moments. Before Viola successfully stunned her.
Maria had burned Viola. A bone chilling realization. Maria was more talk then bite when it came to burning people. Yes, she wouldn't hesitate to throw fire at people but she never aimed to actually hit. That was especially true with people she cared about. Like Elias. Viola was getting up there too. Those people? Maria did everything she could to never let her hands ignite in general if they were around. She couldn't risk hurting them. Refused to. And yet last night... She didn't know how badly, but the fact was still there. She'd burned her partner, and there was this almost suffocating level of guilt.
It must have been just after breakfast when she roused again, the sleeping potion finally wearing off. Stirring, Maria was relieved to feel that her skin felt... normal. No itching. No sharp little pain from biting. Almost as if the bugs hadn't been there last night. And when her eyes finally fluttered open the skin on her arms was a soft pink, freshly healed from the burns she'd inflicted on herself. She might create fire but Maria was far from fire proof. The privacy curtains had been drawn shut around her bed, so her eyes, though still blinking away the drowsiness from the potion, quickly found the start contrast to the white curtains. Someone was next to the bed.
"Elias..?"

@maria <3 Elias had heard almost immediately. Maria didn't have much family left. In fact, all she had was her grandparents, and Elias himself. Along with his mother, but the three elder adults were no where near here. And Elias was not in any position to allow the school to call them; he'd take care of it. He'd take care of her, and make sure everything was okay.
When Elias got to the Hospital Wing, Maria had already been given a sleeping potion. He sat on another bed, watching, as the nurses and healers cast spells, rubbed things on her burnt flesh...all with wide and scared eyes. He didn't speak, just sat back, and kept silent as Maria was being fixed. Elias couldn't figure out what happened, why it happened, why she would burn herself and set these things on fire. And he felt guilty. Guilty for not being around more, guilty for not trying to help her. He had been selfish lately, concerned about himself and the tournament and tasks. Now, it was about Maria.
Elias sat at the edge of the bed all night, his eyes growing red and restless. He didn't sleep, he just stared at his cousin, watching her, waiting for her to wake up. And finally, she did. Elias sat up straight, his hand moving to the bed. "Maria, it's me."

Having Elias there was both a comfort and a sorrow. Comfort because he was the one person she'd want to see first. But sorrow that she'd failed him like this. He'd always been her rock. Grounding her. Keeping her from doing exactly what she'd done last night. Only last night? Last night had been beyond what any of them had ever considered. Shed been hallucinating. But not just anything. Insects. Hundreds of them. Something that terrified her. And in her terror she'd lost total and complete control. Hadn't been able to stop from hurting herself, and Viola. And knowing that made Maria feel like she'd failed her cousin.
Hearing her name gave Maria the will to slowly sit up and turning her head to look at him. To take in those red rimmed and sleep deprived eyes. The concern. "At least now everyone knows just how crazy your crazy cousin is." Great way to start this conversation, wasn't it?

@maria OOC: Mila Moya = My Darling/Dear <3 Elias watched carefully as Maria sat up and turned to face him, concern spread on every inch of his face. If she was in pain he didn't want her to move; he'd move in any way to make her as comfortable as possible. But the words that came out of her mouth stopped him, and he sat back against the chair. A sad smile appeared, and as Elias started to laugh, his eyes filled with tears and a few spilled out over onto his cheek, laughter still moving his body. "I think everyone already knew how crazy you are, mila moya."
He grabbed his chair and moved it somewhat closer, reaching his hand over to brush away a hair from her forehead. The laughter stopped and Elias sniffled, wiping a tear away. He wasn't sure what to say, or what to do. Even touching her seemed scary to him. The nurses told him she was hallucinating, and he didn't want it to happen again. Not here, not with him. He wasn't sure he'd be able to handle it. "Are you okay?"

Maria wasn't in pain thankfully. Sore, but not in pain. Her burns hadn't been that bad and magic had been able to heal them. That didn't mean she was totally back to normal though. Her arms would stil be a little stiff for a while. But aside from that... fine. No hallucinating.
Maria smiled just a little when he did, but then... it was almost like he couldn't decide between laughing and crying and so he'd just opted to do both at the same time. Her smile immediately vanished. Maria never cried. Nor did she handle people crying that well. And now that he couldn't even seem to decide what he wanted to do it was only confusing the girl because she didn't know which emotion she should acknowledge. Finally though he spoke and her small smile reappeared.
But then he wa me reaching towards her. There was the briefest of moments where she started to try to move away. She'd already hurt one person. She wouldn't hurt another. But the slightest tightness on her arm made her stop and let him brush the hair from her face. Taking in and letting out a slow deep breath Maria closed her eyes. "I don't know." she answered honestly. Because right now? What was okay? Why had she been... hallucinating last night? Why hadnt she been able to tell the difference between what she was seeing and reality? And heaven above why did she have to get so scared that she'd hurt someone. Opening her eyes once more she met her cousin's gaze. "I really don't know." she repeated. Not just to him but also to herself. Answering all those questions that were currently plaguing her thoughts. It also answered the most important question. Would it happen again.

@maria <3 Elias didn’t even realize Maria’s smile falter. He might have, had he actually paid any attention, but his laughter and tears caused him to just try to focus on his emotions to calm himself down. Maria obviously wasn’t planning on trying, so his own self was his best bet. Not that he minded of course, she had her own things going on and Elias wasn’t going to push her to try to comfort him. Maria was the one in pain, and he internally yelled at himself for even acting this way.
With a small sniffle, he wiped a few tears away and coughed before taking a deep, shaky breath. His eyes met hers, and he could tell she was confused on how to feel. Worried, amused, or empathetic. But her smile reappeared, and he gave a small one back. Though, it was gone just as quick, for Maria made a motion to move farther away from him. His eyebrows scrunched together, his eyes filling with concern. But she allowed him to touch her, and eventually spoke. ”What do you mean?”

Really, how should Maria feel? She'd been hallucinating the night before. She's hurt someone and herself. Viola had seen a side of Maria that she herself hadn't ever known existed. She'd always been scared of insects, yes, but she'd just kill the thing and be done with it. Last night.... nothing she'd done had worked. So when he asked her what she meant Maria just stared at her cousin for several silent moments. Organizing her thoughts. "I was seeing things, Elias. I hurt Viola simply because they were too close. I couldn't... I couldn't stop it. How am I supposed to feel?" she explained, finishing with the question she was desperately trying to answer. "I don't even know why I was hallucinating." what had caused her to hallucinate so intensely?

@maria <3 "What things, Maria?" Elias scooted his chair closer. Why hadn't he been there? He should've been. It didn't take long for him to hear about her and what had happened. Elias had run as fast as he could to where Maria had been located, but he felt as if he should've been with her. With the tournament and tasks, Elias hadn't been around much. Their relationship seemed to be getting smaller and smaller, and he felt a sharp pain in his chest, right near his heart. Guilt. "Did...did the Healers say anything? About the hallucinations?"

Maria didn't like admitting her fears. Especially seeing them. Fears of the past. Fears of the future. But this had been a fear that had no time at all. One she'd had since she was a child. Elias probably knew she was scared of them but she'd never acted on her fear like she had last night. Sitting up, she brought her knees up to her chest, unconcerned by the amount of skin the action showed. "Cockroaches. They were crawling over me." and she'd tried, desperately tried to get rid of them. And lost control of the fire in the process. She'd burned herself and Viola. As for If the healers said anything about it... she just shook her head. "No..." They were probably running some tests.

@maria <3 Her movement made him cautious, as if she was about to burst into flames again. Elias knew, or at least hoped, that wasn't going to happen. He wouldn't know what to do, or how to stop her. All he'd know was that she probably wouldn't even be able to hear him. Elias closed his eyes when she pulled her knees up to her chest and shook his head. Typical Maria, flaunting herself even without noticing. He stood up and grabbed the blanket, resting it on top of her knees. "Cockroaches...was there anything else? That's how you burned yourself right? Why'd you burn Viola? Did they look like a cockroach?" If there was any other circumstance, Elias would've laughed at the thought of Viola's body with a cockroach head, but he knew better.

Maria hadn't even been concerned about the fact that the hospital robe had ridden up to expose most of her long legs. It didn't escape Elias though, who almost immediately pulled the blanket up to hide the revealed skin. Normally she would have teased him about it. But she wasn't much in the mood today. "Just cockroaches... but I couldn't just see them. I could feel them." their creepy legs. Their biting. Every inch of her body. She nodded as way of explaining that was why she'd burned herself. But as for Viola... Maria looked away. "No. I... lost control. And Viola was too close. They were trying to help me."

@maria <3 Elias wasn't sure why Maria could feel the cockroaches. They weren't there. They were fake, a hallucination, just like she said. But why was there a hallucination? Why was this happening? Thoughts clouded his brain. She lost control, and hurt someone else just as much as herself. Elias blinked multiple times, shaking his head. "How do they not know why this happened? Did someone put a spell on you? Are you sick?" Granted, these questions were probably not of any help to Maria, she didn't know the answers. And while he was stressing out, it was most likely stressing her out as well. Elias couldn't help but feel like he needed to watch over Maria, and take care of her, be that male figure she needed. But he needed to know what was wrong to help her.

Well, considering she'd only been awake off and on, and the event had only been last night. "You could always ask them." was the only answer Maria had. Maybe they did know why and just hadn't told her. If someone had done this do her though.... Maria felt her most normal in that moment. Because she felt a small surge of anger. "If someone is behind this, they better pray I never find them." that was a promise. She didn't forgive easily. She preferred to get revenge.
Laying back down though she stared up at the ceiling and let out a breath. "Whatever it was though it's gone now." they probably wouldn't let her leave though until they were sure she wouldn't relapse

@maria <3 Elias sighed, but nodded. "I will. As soon as one of them show up." But then Maria spoke again, and his eyes shot over to her. He knew Maria was worried, scared that this wouldn't happen again. But Elias didn't see her leaving the Hospital Wing any time soon. His facial expression went dark, his eyes filled with anger. "If it is someone, I'll take care of them." Elias didn't feel like anything else needed to be said. He'd never felt so angry, and if someone had intentionally hurt Maria, they'd pay.
His settled down, calming himself. Maria lied down and he sat back, crossing his legs at his ankles. "Why don't you sleep? I'll stay here...Maybe take a nap myself." Elias smiled gently. The poor girl needed her rest.

Maria really didn't feel like sleeping or resting more. She'd done plenty of that already. But she wouldn't argue right now. She was in the hospital wing after all and maybe if she slept more it would encourage the staff to release her sooner. At least now it was clear she hadn't intentionally hurt Viola, so there wasn't a risk of expulsion or reprimand from Durmstrang. So, she just nodded and closed her eyes.
A few hours passed. During that time Elias had gone down to get lunch and Maria had gone to see Viola. At the end though the itching was back and Maria had left to give the healers some room. Making her way back to her bed she was once against scratching relentlessly at her arms. No fire thankfully but nails could do some damage. She'd made it back to her bed when she started to actually break skin, and one of the nurses noticed. They were trying to calm Maria down, to get her to stop scratching bedore she really hurt herself when the hallucinations started again. Oh how she wished in that moment it was just cockroaches. They were there. But so we're her parents. Her dead parents.
Maria became completely unresponsive to the healers then. She was far to busy screaming.
