@odette <3 Mannix was dilly dallying through London, no real place he wanted to go. He just had no duties to care to today. All of his creatures were kept carefully put away, carefully fed and taken care of for the day. The rest of his siblings were busy, and Clodagh had even tried her hardest to avoid him. After what had happened the last time he saw her Mannix was trying to get her to realize he wasn't judging her. What had happened wasn't her fault. And Mannix still loved her no matter what.
So as he walked along the cobblestone paths, hands in his pockets and a big smile on his face. Mannix continued to grin at every person he walked by. Until there was one person he saw, who looked unusually sad. The type of guy he is, while socially awkward, was not shy, and walked right up to said person with wiggly eyebrows. "Miss...you look like you might be hungry. Would you care to join me?"

This was the first time in quite a few days that Odette had left the house. Since she had heard about what happened to Jacob, Odette felt like her world had crumbled around her. If it weren't for Jonah, Odette probably would have stayed in bed forever. But she couldn't do that. Odette wasn't just taking care of herself anymore. She was five months pregnant and while it should have been a happy time... it wasn't anymore. Odette had let her guard down. She had let down that tough wall she had built over the years and let it fall when she fell in love with her old best friend from school, and then they found out they were going to be parents. And Odette found out she had siblings. And one of those siblings tried to kill herself. And then Jacob went to work one day and then didn't come back.
Jonah, Jacob's younger brother, had been a huge help for Odette. He had lost a brother, and he had his own job, yet he had stepped up and was helping Odette out. She had to take off work due to all of the emotional trauma she had gone through lately. It was all becoming too much. But Jonah was really brining her out of this funk. And finally, for the first time since she had heard of Jacob's death, Odette was out on the town. She decided to take just a stroll with no particular errands in mind. She didn't think she could handle any errands right now. Sometimes, she even forgot to eat, she was so stressed and sad. So Odette was just walking around, trying to enjoy the sunshine.
For a bit, she was fine but then she started passing a familiar few buildings and she remembered the walk she went on with Jacob when he took her to the Peter Pan fountain. Odette stopped and looked to her right at the store front in front of her, just starting to let sadness overcome her until there was a voice from beside her. Odette's head turned quickly to see a gentleman with wiggly sort of eyebrows, asking if he would care to join him for a bite to eat. It seemed odd, having this stranger approach her and invite her to a meal but Odette was hungry, and she realized she hadn't eaten yet today. A pang of guilt struck her when she thought of the baby. Her hand twitched at her side, wanting to grasp her stomach but she didn't. Instead, Odette just blinked and nodded. "Y - yes, that would be nice."

@odette <3 As the woman turned to look at him, Mannix hadn’t expected to see what he did. It wasn’t crazy to think, but just shocking to him. One, because he had been paying attention to her beautiful face, and two, because when she turned, he realized she was pregnant. Of course it wasn’t anything bad, but it did cause his happy expression to become slightly shocked for a moment. But he recovered quickly and smiled once more, teeth and all. ”Perfect!”
Mannix gestured ahead of him and began walking when she did, side by side. ”Anywhere you’d like to go? I’m open for anything.” He studied her face a bit more. She didn’t look familiar by any means, but he assumed introducing himself would be his best bet. ”I’m Mannix Fitzpatrick, and it’s nice to meet you.”

There was a brief moment in which Odette thought that the man standing in front of her was going to take his offer back when he saw that she was pregnant, but thankfully that wasn't the case. Instead, he smiled a toothy smile that cause the right corner of Odette's mouth to twitch slightly into a small smile of her own for the first time in days. If Odette still weren't hurting from the loss of Jacob, she probaly would have noticed how handsome the gentleman in front of her was. But for now, it unfortunately escaped her.
Odette began walking slowly when the gentleman gestured ahead of him. She walked beside him and not a step in front of or behind. Aside from Jonah, she had spent so much time alone lately and it felt nice finally being back out in public, even if it hurt to be. When the man asked where she would like to go to eat, she had to think. "Um," she hesitated a moment. "The Cauldron is fine." She settled on something simple and not too far away. It probably wouldn't have been here first choice on a regular day, but things weren't exactly normal right now.
Odette finally looked at the man when he introduced himself as Mannix. She thought of what an interesting name that was, and how she had never heard it before. It was certainly unique. "Nice to meet you, Mannix," she replied. "I'm Odette Greyback." Odette was never one to shy away from saying her biological father's last name aloud, but this time it didn't feel right and it occured to her she may have to stop... if she wanted to protect this baby.

@odette <3 The woman's lips twitched into a smile and Mannix held a finger up at her mouth, chuckling loudly. "Ah ha! There's that beautiful smile. You really should use it more, miss!" Mannix shook his head back and forth, laughing even louder. He was glad to see she walked directly beside him, but Mannix made sure to not walk as fast as he normally did. That big belly might exhaust her! He couldn't imagine having to carry a human inside of him and do normal everyday things! "The Cauldron! Perfect!"
Mannix grinned and led the way there. He assumed this girl, Odette, knew how to get there. But it wasn't that that caught his interest. It was just her. Her name. "Well it's wonderful to meet you as well, Odette Greyback!" Chuckles left his lips, but his eyes got wider as he turned, now walking backwards so he could see her face more clearly. "What's it like being a Greyback? Have you ever met Fenrir? Is he as scary as they say?" He tapped his lips, and then gasped. "Are you a werewolf?!"

When the gentleman held up a finger at her and complimented her smile, Odette instinctively smiled a little wider. It occurred then how she actually missed human contact. This Mannix fellow was the perfect person to get back into the swing of things with, she decided. And who was she to deny kind human interaction? It felt nice walking along with this stranger. And in recent days, she couldn't remember a time she had actually felt nice. It was good to feel that way again.
Odette smiled softly at Mannix when he said her name back to her. Something about the way he said it made that last name not sound too terrible to her after all. Mannix then turned and began walking backwards in front of her and Odette raised an eyebrow at the man, but still kept the smile on her face. It had been a long while since she had smile this much, she didn't want to stop. All of his questions actually brought a light laugh out of Odette. The sound of a laugh escaping her lips sounded almost foreign to her these days. "No, I'm not a werewolf," she chuckled. It was usually the first thing people asked her, usually in a much more cautious way but there was something child-like about the way Mannix seemed to inquire about her background all of a sudden, and Odette couldn't help but like it. Maybe it was her maternal instincts off the fritz.
"I've never met Fenrir, no," Odette said without laughing now, but her voice stayed oddly neutral. Usually her voice would get icy or disgusted when she spoke of him, but this was a different instance. "But being a Greyback..." she thought for a moment before a small smile spread back across her lips. "It's definitely interesting."

@odette <3 Odette's smile was quite fascinating, and her eyes glowed like the sight of a firefly buzzing by on a moonlit street. Mannix tilted his head at her, studying her features for only a moment longer than necessary before smiling brightly. She seemed comfortable enough to share her life slightly and if she was a werewolf or not, which made him feel even more comfortable around her knowing she was so honest. "Well that's a bit sad, ain't it? I'd love to howl at the moon and not look like a dimwit." Mannix laughed loudly, of course joking. Being a werewolf was no joke, but that's who he was.
And then Odette's smile disappeared for only a moment, but long enough to have Mannix gasping in a shocked way; not out of humor, just out of surprise. "Well, if it makes you feel any better, I've never met him either." Mannix felt like joking would be the best option, and who didn't enjoy laughing? If Odette didn't, well then they'd sure have an issue! "Interesting, eh? How so?"

Odette felt the man's eyes on her and when she glanced at him to see his head tilted with a smile, she kept smiling herself. It was something she felt like she hadn't done in such a long time; the muscles in her cheeks felt brand new. She chuckled lightly again at his words before she raised an eyebrow at him. "Have you ever met a werewolf?" She asked him with a slight smirk.
The Greyback smiled at Mannix before she decided to answer his question. "Well, for one," she said walking with him. "I get asked that question all the time. And I love to see the different reactions it gets outta people," she smirked at that. "And two, it... comes with surprises. Like, I didn't know until about a year or so ago that I have siblings from Fenrir. Half siblings, but family nonetheless." She smiled at the thought of her brothers and sisters.

@odette <3 Odette asked him if he'd ever met a werewolf, and his eyes widened. Mannix put a finger to his lips, tapping it a few times in thought. "No, I don't believe so! At least no werewolf that told me so!" Mannix laughed loudly, shrugging. It wasn't something he expected anyone to flat out tell him, just like he wasn't one to tell anyone right away about his clairvoyancy. When it happened, it happened. He wondered if she asked because his idea of a werewolf is probably not what one is true.
"I'm sure the reactions can be amusing! Hopefully no one gets angry or anything." He shook his head ferociously. Mannix couldn't imagine it would, but he also knew that there were people out there that supported Odette's father and worked for him, if he was still out there somewhere. No one knew where he was, but Mannix was sure he was still alive. "Oh siblings are great! How many half siblings do you have? I'm one of five!"
