How long, exactly, had Cyrus dreamed of this moment? He couldn't even be exactly sure. Ever since he was young and in love with Eleanor Percival, however, he always knew he wanted to one day visit their favorite city in the world and lucky for them, it just so happened to be the city of love. Paris. Words could not even accurately describe the excitement on Cyrus's face as he waited for Eleanor at the rendezvous point where they would apparate to Paris. Cyrus was so excited, he just couldn't wait to travel any other way. He had been to Paris before with his line of work, but never with Eleanor. And Cyrus could just feel that he was going to be seeing the city like never before. Romantic boat rides on the Seine, a picnic at the Sacré-Coeur steps, or take a stroll down the Champs-Elysées. Even if they did nothing at all, at least Cyrus would be with Eleanor. And in the end, that was all that mattered.
@eleanor hehehe I couldn't wait!

Somehow Eleanor Percival had never been to Paris; her parents had gone there on their honeymoon, and her brother had stopped in the city of light during his month long backpacking trek after graduating from university. Deep down, she knew why she hadn’t gone; she had wanted to go with someone truly special to her, and that someone was Cyrus Ellsworth. So it was only natural that very soon after they got together the trip to Paris had been planned for just after the Christmas holiday. Ella had taken off work for a whole week; she knew she’d pay for that later with the Second Task rapidly approaching but she didn’t care. She was going to spend an entire week for the love of her life in the city she had dreamed of visiting since she was a small child. Ella figured they would be Apparating or traveling by Floo Network or Portkey to where they’d be staying; she wanted to arrive in Paris with Cyrus so that she could experience everything there for the first time right by his side. So she arrived at his London flat, her pink flowered suitcase in hand. She had overpacked a tad (or a lot) but she had magicked her suitcase to expand enough so that there was plenty of room for shopping excursions. The one small flicker of disappointment was that Cyrus’ cousin Celia, who happened to be her best friend, was not going to be in Paris at her little boutique when they were going to be there. Still, in a way she was happy that they didn’t have any familial or friend commitments during their vacation - it would just be Ella and Cy, romantic and probably to the outsider disgustingly gushy. She knocked on his door twice, feeling the butterflies of nerves and excitement fluttering in her stomach as she adjusted her kelly green peacoat and her white beret, waiting for him to let her in. @cyrus

Cyrus's bags were by the front door to his apartment. He was so excited, he wanted to leave as soon as possible once Eleanor arrived. He had planned the perfect spot for them to apparate to; there was a small alleyway not far from the hotel in which they would be staying that was away and out of sight from muggles but it also had the most perfect view of Paris' most iconic landmark: the Eiffel tower. Cyrus couldn't wait to see the look on Eleanor's face.
When there was a knock at the door, Cyrus practically leaped to the door and excitedly swung it open and looked at Eleanor in her peacoat and, of course, a beret. A wide smile spread across Cyrus's face. "You're a Parisian vision," he said just before wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her through the doorway and welcoming her with a kiss. He closed the door behind her and then set her bag next to his before turning back to her with an excited look. "Are you ready, Ella?"

Eleanors’ heart skipped a beat when Cyrus opened the door, and she smiled broadly at him. “Merci,” she said, returning his kiss gladly. This was really happening, they were really heading to Paris, finally just the two of them! She was glad he looked just as excited as she did; he asked her if she was ready and she pretended to think about it. “Hmmmm….” she mused, then leaned up to kiss him again. “I was born ready for this trip,” she said, holding onto his hand. “Lead the way my love,” she added, giving his hand a squeeze signalling she was ready to Apparate with him to the City of Light. One slightly breathless turn later, Ella opened her eyes and saw they were in a small alleyway; she looked over towards Cyrus and saw from his look they were at the right spot. She turned back and took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. The air was cold, but it didn’t matter - she was in Paris after all. Tugging his hand gently, she guided him out of the alleyway onto the streets of Paris, and she looked around eagerly. “Oooh!” she breathed, pointing excitedly as she saw the top of the Eiffel Tower a short distance away. “This is really happening,” she said out loud, half to herself. She sighed with contentment, then looked back at Cyrus. “What first?” she asked him. @cyrus

Cyrus took the moment that Eleanor pretended to think about if she was ready to really look at her. He had never forgotten about how much he loved her, but looking at her now... it was like he was seeing her again for the first time. When Cyrus was young, he never would have believed that love felt this way but here he was, staring at Ella for what had to be the millionth time and he still felt like he had when he first fell in love with her. Cyrus gave Eleanor's hand a squeeze and she told him to lead the way and then Apparated to the spot he had picked out for them to land in. He couldn't wait to see the look on her face.
Almost immediately, Cyrus looked at Eleanor to watch her take it in. He had been to Paris a handful of times for work, but never with Eleanor and he wanted to see how she took it all in. His face lit up when he felt her eager pull as she led him out of the alley and she pointed up at the Eiffel Tower. "First," he said softly, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her close to him. "This." He place his free hand gently on her chin and planted a tender kiss on Ella's lips for their first, official Paris kiss.

Eleanor had always been a fan of cheesy romantic comedy movies. She loved seeing how the protagonists find their way back to each other in the end, and cement their romance with a kiss. She had seen so many different backdrops; beautiful cities, vast oceans, high cliffs with the wind blowing through their hair. All had seemed horribly romantic to her, but when Cyrus placed his hand on her chin and closed the distance between them, Ella realized that those movies had absolutely nothing on this moment. She had always gotten butterflies in her stomach when Cyrus kissed her, but this one was different. There was both a familiarity of their school days, but the tender newness of their rekindled romance. The flame had never really died between them of course, and everything in this kiss spoke that.
Eventually, they had to come back up for breath, and Ella gave a soft giggle as she pressed her nose gently up against his. “You keep doing that and we'll have to spend the entire trip in the hotel room,” she said, grinning slyly. She kissed him again before grabbing her bag. “Now come on you, we have some sights to see while there's daylight!” she exclaimed excitedly. Then of course they could go back to their room and see where the night took them.@cyrus GAH I LOVE THEM <3

Cyrus could never tire of kissing Eleanor, he thought as they pulled away from one another now. Even in the brief moment it took to pull away before speaking, it felt like a blissful eternity as he stared into Eleanor's eyes. A pair of eyes he would love to spend the rest of his life getting lost in. Cyrus grinned when Ella spoke and he chuckled. "As lovely as that would be," he said leaning in to plant one quick kiss on her nose. "I do have quite a few things planned for us." Cyrus then took Eleanor's hand in his and he began to lead them in the direction of their hotel so they could dispose of their bags.
Cyrus led them just a couple of blocks until they ended up in front of Hotel Keppler. Excited to get their day going, Cyrus wasted no time in leading them into the hotel and checking in at the front desk. After he had checked in, he led Eleanor up to the hotel room they both had. Once inside, it revealed a suite with a small kitchen area, as well as a living area that had a door to a beautiful deck with a table for breakfast with the perfect view of the Eiffel Tower. Cyrus set down the bags and turned to look at Eleanor. "Are you ready?" He grinned at her widely, awaiting her answer eagerly but also wanting to see the look on her face as she took in every bit of the room. He couldnt' wait to see her face on the rest of the trip, either. Merlin, he loved this woman.

Eleanor couldn’t help but giggle a little at Cyrus’ quip. It wasn’t as though that had never happened when they were first dating at Hogwarts; if she remembered correctly, she almost missed her fourth year Arithmancy exam due to him! She had chided him post exam, but it was very hard for her to stay mad at him. It always had been; their little tiffs and arguments in school never lasted in unending days of pent up anger and grudges, but ended in laughter or kisses. Life was too short to stay angry. She had of course, been upset when they’d broken up after graduation, but she always believed things happened for a reason, and deep down she knew they’d get back together if they were meant to be. Now here they were, together in Paris at last.Eleanor let him lead her down towards a hotel, his excitement contagious. Ella felt her cheeks hurt from smiling so much, but she didn’t stop as they checked into the hotel and made their way up to their room. Or suite; Eleanors’ breath was momentarily taken away by the beauty of it all. “All this for us?” she breathed, her eyes shining with happiness. She walked out towards the balcony, Cyrus in tow and took in the beautiful sight before them. “It’s perfect,” she said, turning towards him and standing on tiptoe to give him a kiss. She took both his hands in hers and squeezed. “I’m always ready,” she said with a smile.@cyrus

Not even yet in hour in Paris with Eleanor and Cyrus could already tell it was going to be the trip of a lifetime. Little did Eleanor know, that Cyrus had the perfect trip planned with plans to do all of Eleanor's favorite Parisian things. First up on their itinerary? A lovely cruise down the Seine River. And Cyrus was giddy with excitement to see Eleanor's reaction to it.
Cyrus was sure by the end of this trip, his mouth was probably going to be frozen in a permanent smile. But if such a thing were to happen, he would be glad it was brought on by Eleanor. When Ella took both of his hands and stated she was always ready, Cyrus took this as his queue to lead her to exit the suite and then the hotel. "I think you are going to be quite pleased with our first stop, mademoiselle," he said as he led her out into the Paris air.
It was a beautiful day. They certainly weren't over or underdressed for the weather, and it looked to stay a clear day. Cyrus hoped for similar weather throughout the duration of their trip since they would likely be walking qutie a bit, but he promised himself not to let his spirits be dampened if they were surprised by rain. Cyrus led the Eleanor for a few blocks, knowing she probably wouldn't mind walking on the Parisian streets in this weather. After a bit of walking they finally arrived to the area where you could board the boat for the river cruise. "What better way to start our first day in Paris than to see all of Paris?"

Eleanor gave a little squeal of excitement then giggled as Cyrus led her from the suite. Really, anything that was first on their itinerary in Paris would excite her at this point. She was in the city of love with the love of her life for Merlins’ sake; they could walk through a snow pile and Ella would still be happy to be there. Luckily, Paris did not seem to be holding any snow today, and the weather though cold was sunny, not a cloud in sight. She held tightly onto Cy’s hand as they began to head down the street towards the Seine. Ella’s eyes grew bigger as they approached the Eiffel Tower; she knew it wasn’t the biggest landmark by a longshot, but still a marvel to behold. “It’s perfect,” she agreed happily as Cyrus explained their first stop on their Parisian adventure. They’d be able to see the many bridges of Paris from the top of the boat, including the spectacular Pont Alexandre III with it’s beautiful black and gold details. She held onto his arm as they boarded the boat, practically dragging him upstairs so they could get unobstructed seats. Ella’s ambition paid off as there were still two seats together in the front row. She sat down and tucked her arm through the crook of his, leaning her head against his shoulder and sighing contently. @cyrus

Cyrus could hardly hold back his cheerful laughter as Eleanor practically dragged him onto the boat to get good seats in the front of the boat. He settled comfortably into the seat to enjoy the view and felt Eleanor tuck her arm through his and lean her head on his shoulder. His heart swelled with happiness as the boat began to move down the river. The sun was beating down on the two of them and from the breeze coming off the river, it felt like bliss - if only made better because Eleanor was there. "So," Cyrus said looking at Eleanor as she took in the sights. "How 'bout this, huh?" He gave her arm a squeeze. "If I'm being one hundred percent honest with you, I never thought I'd get to come here with you," he admitted quietly as the tour guide spoke to the group of the other tourists around them.

Ella didn’t say anything as Cyrus spoke, but merely squeezed his hand gently. Only when he mentioned that he never thought he’d get to come here with her did she lift her head up to look at him tenderly. “Nor I,” she admitted with a small shrug. The practical side of Eleanor Percival reasoned with her passionate heart that she should not pine over Cyrus after they broke up for years and years; if they were meant to be then they would happen. She couldn’t sit around in her bedroom looking wistfully out of her bedroom window and she did not believe Cyrus expected her to. True, she had had a few romances in between, but the minute the Slytherin re-entered her life, she realized that she couldn’t be fully happy without him. “But we’re here now, and that’s what matters,” she said, kissing his cheek gently. The boat ride continued, with the tour guide pointing out all of the spectacular architecture and monuments built close to the Seine. Finally, they docked where they began and the two disembarked. “Where to next?” she asked eagerly, then felt her stomach grumble. “Perhaps food,” she suggested with a laugh. @cyrus

Of course it had always been an absolute dream to visit Paris with Eleanor when the two of them were kids, but after they broke up Cyrus felt he had to try to move on. Naturally, he couldn't and no girl he met after Eleanor could even come close to comparing. He knew perhaps it wasn't right to compare every girl to her, but maybe it was because deep in the back of his brain he knew that one day they would be together again. Whether it be platonically or romantically, he had never been sure, but he sure was glad she was back just where she used to be.
Cyrus grinned rather cheekily when Eleanor kissed his cheek. He enjoyed the rest of the boat ride with Eleanor tucked in his side and the biggest, happiest smile on his face as he gazed out on the sights of the Seine. When the boat docked, Cyrus led them off the boat and never once let go of Ella's hand. When Ellea suggested that they next get food, Cyrus happily agreed. "I know just the place," he said as he led her in the direction of a restuarant he had been to on the few trips he had taken to Paris in the past. It was just up the street from where they were on the river so it wasn't a very long walk either. When they arrived, Cyrus walked into the restuarant called "Chez Julien" and asked them for a table. The host walked them to a table at a window that overlooked the French streets outside. The host walked away but Cyrus waited with Eleanor's seat held out for her to take a seat. "After you, mademoiselle."

Cyrus really had done his planning, Eleanor mused proudly as she nestled her hand in the crook of his arm, allowing him to lead her to the restaurant. This whole day seemed out of a fairy tale, if fairy tales included big cities, magic, and just FEELING like a princess. She supposed the film Anastasia was close enough, but if she remembered correctly that wasn’t actually a Disney film. It didn’t matter though, because her version of the fairy tale was better; she wasn’t trying to avoid the affection of someone like Dmitry or win the love of a long-forgotten grandmother. She was just here, in the present moment, with the love of her life. There was no ending of the film in sight, at least not for her, and she had a feeling not for him either. Ella smiled as he held the seat out for her to take, just like a proper gentleman. “Merci beaucoup monsieur,” she replied in French, letting out a small tinkling laugh as she adjusted her skirt around the seat. The waiter whizzed back over as if Summoned, and Ella flicked her brown eyes towards the menu. “Champagne, mon amour?” she asked Cyrus, looking over at him. It was a suggestion of course, but really who would say no to champagne in a fine Parisian restaurant, especially when they were celebrating the rebirth of their relationship. @cyrus

Cyrus could swear, every time Eleanor laughed his heart skipped a beat. It was sound he could never tire of, and hadn't since he was thirteen. Love was so funny like that. Cyrus took his seat after Eleanor and perused the menu himself before the waiter came back to them. When Eleanor asked if he would enjoy some champagne, he smiled and gave one nod to both she and the waiter. "Oui," he agreed. The waiter stepped away momentarily to fetch the champagne and as he did so, Cyrus took Eleanor's hand in his across the table just to remind himself how real this was. He had eaten here many times before, probably even at this same table, and it still felt like a dream with her here.
The waiter returned and set down two glasses before pouring champagne in both. "Encore quelques minutes s'il vous plaît," he asked the waiter for a bit more time to look at the menu, to which he kindly obliged and walked away. Cyrus then took his glass in his hand and held it up to Eleanor, proposing a toast. "To the future, and to happiness," he said with a soft smile.
