Eleanor clinked her glass against his gently, returning Cyrus’ smile. “To us,” she echoed, taking a sip of champagne. It tasted divine, but she was not surprised; her boyfriend did have impeccable taste after all. The meal that followed did not disappoint Ella’s exceptional palette. They started the evening with a warm mallard duck and foie gras pate, followed by a cheese board carefully selected for them by the chef. Eleanor had ordered the sole with spinach and prawns, and to her delight had found it exquisite. She knew Cyrus had known her preferences when choosing their first dinner restaurant, and he had done a wonderful job. Finally, for dessert they had decadent little fruit tarts in raspberry and lemon, with espresso coffees to finish it off. “Cyrus, I must say you’ve really set the bar high for our trip cuisine wise,” Ella commented teasingly, giving him a little wink as she finished up her coffee. After the meal was paid for, Ella stood up, her eyes sparkling eagerly. She knew what was next, because she had only told Cyrus about five thousand times what was one of the main things she wanted to do when she went to Paris for the first time. “Well come on my love, we must hurry if we’re going to make it for the first light show,” she said eagerly, having looked up when the Eiffel Tower lit up in its sparkling twinkle lights in January. She looped her arm through his and squeezes his bicep lightly. “Let’s take the Parisian way there,” she suggested, pointing to the Metro sign. She was so well-versed in public transit from growing up in London, and she wanted to experience the famous Metro for herself. “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you get through safely,” she teased, pressing her lips to his cheek gently before leading him down the stairs. @cyrus

Hearing Ella toast with him, it brought such an immense happiness to the Quidditch player he wasn't quite sure how to express. The dinner was everything Cy thought it would be and more, and seeing the look on Eleanor's face as they dined made it all the better. He had been excited from the start to finally get to see Ella partake in real French cuisine in the city of love itself. She smiled in spite of himself at her comment. "It only gets better from here, darling," he flashed her a wink from across the table.
Naturally, Cyrus paid for the meal after the two of them had finished their coffees. Cyrus turned to Ella after he had paid and saw the look in her eyes and that was all he needed to know that Ella knew what was next. He had a feeling she would and it brought even a brighter smile to his face. Feeling her arm loop through his sent an excited spark through his body. This time he would let her lead him however she wanted, seeing that she was so excited. When she pointed at the Metro sign, Cyrus raised an eyebrow. He had never taken the Metro before in all his visits to Paris, usually sticking to taxis or Apparating. Though her lips on his cheek gave him a surge of relief at the idea. He wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her in toward him before kissing the top of her head. "Lead the way, my dear."

Eleanor didn’t know if Cyrus would agree to take the Metro; he was a pureblooded wizard after all, she highly doubted he had even taken the Tube in London! But Ella had learned the Tube at a young age from her father, who stubbornly refused to either hire or purchase a car. Why would he, when public transit in London was so fantastic, he would tell her. The map of the Tube had been like a maze, each colored line leading to a different location. But they had begun to make sense to Eleanor early on, and she quickly learned that most subway systems had similar lines. “Brilliant,” she said, beaming as her boyfriend finally agreed to get on the subway. Taking his hand in hers, she led him down the steps of the old stone metro station, and purchased tickets for the two of them. “Watch me,” she instructed, putting her ticket through the machine and taking it back once it went through.
Once they were through the open doors, Eleanor checked the map, scanning the locations quickly, and led him down a flight of steps to one side of the Metro track. “Here it comes!” she whispered, squeezing his hand tightly as the train shuddered to a halt at their stop. “We just need to take three stops then we’ll be at the Bir-Hakeim station, then we get off and we’ll be able to walk to the Seine River Cruise boats at the base of the Eiffel Tower from there,” she jabbered on, her voice low as to not disturb the other people on the train. As the train began to move, Ella wrapped her arms around Cyrus’ waist and looked up happily at him. “I love you,” she said, standing on her tiptoes to give him a quick kiss on the lips, before moving one hand to the pole to steady herself.
