Desirae sat on a large branch near the edge of the forbidden forest. She was still hidden well within the trees, but could see the school through a few breaks in the branches. She sighed, pulling out her portable stationary set, and placing the parchment on her lap. She pulled out a quill and ever so slowly licked the tip before dipping it into the ink.
My Dearest, Sweet Marcus, She wrote.
I find it hard to believe that it has been almost a year since we started writing these lovely letters to one another. I hope you have been doing well, especially since I am planning on having a few friends visit you later this week, just to make sure you are keeping up to par. Desi laughed out loud at her little letter so far. She loved making her letters seem as sweet as overly sugared syrup, and just as sticky in ones mouth. She liked to use words the best way a person could, in writing. Once she had created a web of secrets around her victim, that's when the blackmail started. She continued to write,
I noticed that sweet girl you've just met, Sae, is looking well this week. I trust you two will become close friends? It's sweet, the way you dote on each other. Even if you aren't aware of it yet, you two have a decent spark.
My darling, I must end this note a little shorter than usual. I know you'll be disappointed, considering how full and lovely my letters usually are. She laughed again, not caring if anyone heard her. Please, try not to catch on fire while my friends are around. They aren't interested in flames, either.
--Wit is my poison, knowledge my power and words my webs.
Much Love, Arachne As she finished her letter she folded it in half and put forth a low whistle. Several little spiders crawled off the branches and down her arms. "Aw, my sweets. I only require the service of two." Only two remained on her hand while the others began dispersing themselves around her body, making their way back to the branches. "You know what to do," she whispered as the sweet little creatures took the note and scurried away. She closed her stationary set and placed it back in her bag, breathing in the fresh, cold forest air. Today had been an accomplishment, and it was only 8:00 in the morning. She sighed and looked up towards the school and saw someone walking on the grounds. Her dear friend Elias. She smiled brightly and jumped down from her tree, walking out of the trees toward him. @mercy

It was early in the morning and Elias had just come from finishing one of his routine morning jogs around the castle's grounds. As he came from a paced run to a complete stop near the trees of the Forbidden Forest, he dropped to the ground in attempt to catch his breath. Exhausted by the strenuous activity, Elias wanted nothing more than to sit down and rest for a while. He had got up at about six thirty and had managed to muster up the strength to get out of bed and make his way to this very spot to begin his run at seven. Now having completed the hour-long jog, Elias felt fatigued, but ironically energized at the same time. As physically drained as he was, he felt mentally refreshed and ready for whatever the day had install for him.
After a few minutes of sitting and slowing down his deep and rapid breaths, he stood up from the ground and dusted himself off. As much as he would have loved to sit around all day and do nothing, he just couldn't. It was only eight in the morning and things needed to get done. But first things first - he needed to get into a shower. So picking up his water bottle he began his long journey towards the castle.
As he walked the footsteps of another behind him had caught his attention. Turning around to investigate, the footsteps were that of a familiar face; Desirae Rousseau, a Ravenclaw seventh year whom Elias had become well acquainted to during his time here. Stopping so she could catch up Elias noticed the direction she had come from and was rather puzzled as to what she had been doing in the Forbidden Forest.
"Des." he spoke once she was in hearing distance. "Stalking me, I see." he joked with a wide smile.

Desi laughed musically as he spoke, reaching forward to brush a little hair from the sweat on his forehead, "of course, El! Why, I would never want to miss your morning jog," she giggled as she leaned forward, standing incredibly close to him. The idea of boundaries wasn't really something that Desi agreed with, so she usually just chose to ignore them.
She did step back a little though, mostly to admire his arms glistening with sweat. She bit her lip as she enjoyed the view, not minding the silence. After a moment she looked back into his eyes, "you just look better and better every day. Tell me, is the running all that keeps those muscles toned?" she asked, genuinely curious. Of course, her spider friends had helped her to spy on him before as well, and she knew a little about his daily activities. She didn't really have any use for him right now, at least not under codename Arachne, so there was no point spying on him at present.
From her point of view as a seventeen year old girl, however, she had plenty of use for Elias. He was a friend, well as close as Desi considered anyone to being a friend, and he was great for flirting. Desi had many favorite pastimes, but flirting was one of the best. Especially since he was such a hunk. She may have only been at Hogwarts for a few years, bring a transfer students, but she noticed him almost right away.

The melodic sound that was her laughter sounded angelic as it escaped her lips and Elias couldn't help but smile as her fingers touched his forehead. To say that Elias and Desi weren't close would be a blatant lie. Desi was one of the first people Elias came to know upon arriving at Hogwarts and there was an instant connection between them. They hit off pretty well and they became fast friends, but there was more to it. As much as Elias valued the friendship they shared, he enjoyed the benefits that came with Desi being a girl and not a guy. Being the flirt that he was, Elias always took the liberty of sweet talking girls and Desirae Rousseau was one of them.
From the little space between them, the sexual tension was boldly underlined and Elias was without a doubt loving the lack of boundaries. As he listened to Desi's words of compliment about his muscles he smiled softly and let out a small chuckle before looking into her dark eyes. "Hmmm, I don't know...I was hoping you could tell me, you are stalking me after all..." he said teasingly with a small grin. He knew that Desi wasn't stalking him, at least he thought so. She seemed like every other girl around here. Never did she come off as clingy or obsessive and Elias liked her for that.

Desi bit her lip as Elias spoke, "Mmm Hmmm," Desi half-moaned as she agreed with his words. Secretly, she wouldn't have minded spending a little time following the Slytherin around, but then that wouldn't make their small moments together as special. He was a happy surprise whenever she happened to bump into him and she didn't want to loose that by knowing his whereabouts at all times like she did with many others that she chose to spy on, for other reasons. She suddenly blinked and realized she had been staring silently for a few seconds. She looked up into his eyes, "well, my bet is that it's the running, genes and a little bit of me projecting my idea of a hunk onto you." She chuckled again. It was often true that beauty was in the eye of the beholder and this guy was beautiful.
Not only was he great to look at, but he was wonderful for good conversation. Being a Ravenclaw, she appreciated good conversation almost as much as she appreciated good looks. But only if the conversation was coming from a good looking person. "Tell me, though, do you think I've been improving my body as well?" she asked as she stepped closer to him, looking up at him through her eyelashes and smirking mischievously.

"You projecting your idea of a hunk onto me..." Elias repeated her words with a rather amused smile and expression. He was used to being hit on as much as he hit on others and he could tell that Desi was one with the words this morning. In all honesty though, he was a bit flattered by her expressions of flirtation and if he was any less of a man than he was he'd admit to getting butterfly's in his stomach. But being who and what he was, he certainly didn't picture that coming out of his mouth at all. Elias loathed almost every feeling that associated him being emotionally attached to someone or something. He had these high walls built when it came to commitment that he just couldn't deal with a life of being linked with a feeling of love.
This didn't make him a heartless monster per se, but more like someone who was afraid or detached from commitment. Maybe that's why his love life was so broken. He probably needed to open his eyes and allow himself to see again, though he didn't think that would be happening anytime soon. So until that day he'd just carry on with a life of no ties and bonds...
"I swear if you carry on making me blush I'll be as red as a tomato by the time we kiss and part ways." Elias jokingly commented at her guess with a wink. He truly enjoyed talking to Desi whenever they had these run ins. She made for interesting conversation and when she asked him of what he thought of her body he took some time to study her voluptuous structure before meeting her mischievous gaze.
"You are looking ravishing, as always..." he paused as he gently stroked her cheek. "Do you even have to ask?" he questioned with a slight lift of an eyebrow. Desi always looked like a walking goddess and she looked strikingly beautiful as he looked down into her alluring dark eyes.

Desi bit her lip and smiled happily as he spoke. If ever she was to actually commit to someone romantically she could see herself making an effort with the adorable Slytherin. The only problem was, was the fact that she was an evil physco who wanted nothing more than to see the world under whip and forced to do get bidding. Awe well, maybe if Elias grew a dark side side would bring him along. Now that would be fun.
She chuckled softly, "oh darling, you'll be much redder than a tomato when I kiss you," she knew that 'kiss and part ways' was a figure of speech, but she didn't care, "in fact, you'd probably pass out from breathlessness... Or possibly from your deepest fantasies coming to life." She dropped her bottom lip to make an 'O' shape with her mouth in a sort of 'oh, have I said something naughty?' gesture.
As he studied her after her question about being in shape, she held perfectly still. Oh, the things she did to this boy. She wasn't expecting him to stroke her cheek though, and it caught her a bit off guard. For a moment she dropped her jaw, probably looking like a very sexy fish with its mouth gaped open. She quickly closed it and regained her composure.
"Elias, you little tease. Of course I have to ask," she stepped in even closer, but didn't make any attempts at touching him, "because I just love to hear your answers." She spoke low, her voice raspy and tantalizing.

It was a hot fire between the pair of seventh year students. The flames were burning high and the sexual lust and tension were enough to make anyone aroused. Standing there and staring into the eyes of Desi, Elias realised that she wasn't as innocent as she put on. The little devil that was locked up deep inside of her had just come out to play and Elias was rather surprised at what he was seeing. Whenever he ran into the Ravenclaw she was always sweet and innocent with a dash of naughty/flirtatious jokes here and there, but this was a whole new girl he was seeing here. Darker, more sensual and much more fiesty, he had to admit that red looked good on her.
"What do you know about my beautiful, deepest and darkest fantasies, sweetheart?" he asked his voice soft as he spoke each and every word slowly. "And if anyone is going to pass out I think its going to be you... Elias whispered as he stroked her cheek again. At his touch he noticed how she momentarily zoned out as if she were stunned by his fingers caressing the soft skin on her face. Tearing his eyes away from hers he trailed them down to her voluptuous lips. "But maybe, if I kiss you your deepest fantasies will be fulfilled." he said with a soft smirk before slowly bringing his eyes up to look at hers once more.
As she closed the small gap between them even more, Elias didn't fight the movement. Instead he went with the flow and waited to see what the angel before him would do next.

Desi really loved going to school in France, but one thing she was sad she missed out on was getting more time with this hunk. Though, maybe he grew into his hunkiness and she skipped all the dorky puberty years! That would be great as well. She was now finding herself glad that she had missed out on his younger years. She was just seeing this man before her and dang, he was a sight to see.
Desi was always flirtatious/naughty with basically everyone she spoke to. But with Elias it was a little different, at least today! She was riled up because of that letter she had just sent out to one of her favorite little victims. Nothing like a little evil to arouse someone, and then Elias just had to run past looking sweaty and fine. What was she supposed to do? Act all sunshine and daisies?
She smirked and tilted her head to the side, placing both hands on either side of her hips at his question. "Oh, you know," she took yet another step towards him, lowering her voice to match his own tone. "Just that you want to do much more than kiss me, Devereux," ooh, even his last name was sexy. It was French, just like hers, and there was nothing more romantic than French.
At his prediction of her being the one to pass out she shook her head, but she didn't get a chance to speak as she caught him eyeing her lips and claiming that he could fulfill her fantasies. That probably wouldn't happen, for she had a whole other side of crazy when it came to that stuff. She started to raise on her toes just a little, to bring her face closer to his. Once her lips were about half an inch away, she blinked.
She pulled back and tapped him lightly on the arm with a sigh. "Oh, Elias. I can't torture you like this." the tension lightened as she readjusted herself in a more casual position, "You've caught me at a vulnerable time, here," she smirked. Truthfully, she normally wouldn't have minded kissing him and doing whatever and then just bailing on him later. But she felt like she had an actual friend in Elias, and that confused her.

Half an inch of space was all that separated the tension between Elias and Desi. He could feel her tantalising breath caressing his skin and it was pretty evident where this was going to. All that was left of Elias was for him to just lean in and plant that long awaited kiss on those perfectly formed lips. Yes, he wanted to do much more than just kiss her, but much of those thoughts and desires had to be contained. After all, they weren't called fantasies for nothing. Desi was like an animal in her ways of seduction. A carnal beast that was wild with passion and certainly someone who could bring the heat when things got hot.
Elias had been kissing Desi for as long as he knew her and their relationship was complicated to say the least. Nonetheless, they both knew where they stood as a friends/flirt buddies and their so called "romantic" endeavours never seemed to get in the way of what they really were. Elias didn't ever have to worry about the "L" word creeping up with Desi and vice-versa. Those feelings didn't apply to what they had going on here. Whilst the pair, kissed, held hands and flirted, he did care about Desi deeply, but he most definitely didn't catch the little bug they called love. The building they had built together didn't contain such a foundation and breaking all they had built for something as risky as the concept of love wasn't appealing to Elias at all.
So when Desi detached herself from the moment and spoke those words, Elias was scared. It wasn't the fear that an eight year-old experienced after being locked in a dark room. It was something entirely different. It was an unexplainable fear that Elias had been battling with for a long time now. Devotion, monogamy, commitment, whatever it was called, he just couldn't deal with the pressure that surrounded that. Settling down with one person sounded so foreign to him that when someone confessed feelings of affection for him, he could do nothing but run away. This was probably why he and Desi had such an amazing spark between them. There were no ties holding them to each other just how Elias liked it.
"You've caught me at a vulnerable time, here."
Hearing those words made his stomach sick. He found himself looking off into the forest behind Desi, a stone-like expression on his face. Thoughts raced through his head and he stood there in a weird stint of silence. He was now drawn to two conclusions, the first of which involved Desi having a boyfriend and the second involved Desi having actual feelings for him. That was impossible, right? She couldn't possibly have feelings for him, could she? He was jus plain ol' Elias, nothing special about him...
'Oh who am I kidding...' he thought. He had been kissing this person for how long now, how could she not have feelings for him? Not only was she a good kisser, but she was a good friend as well. He wouldn't blame her if she had developed something for him, it was just one of those things that were unavoidable. He just didn't want to lose a genuine friend over something like this.
"Let me guess..." he began, breaking the silence as he looked at her. "You're dating someone?" he fired the question at her and kept his fingers crossed that it wasn't any of the two theories in his head.
OOC: So sorry this took forever.

Desi literally laughed out loud as Elias guessed that she was dating someone. It took her a moment to contain herself before being able to answer him. "OH heavens, no!" she said, letting her laugh play in between the words. He could see where he had gotten that impression though, she was being a little strange after all. She tightened her grip on his arm and shook her head, "No, no-I'm sorry," she said as she rolled her eyes a little at her own vagueness. "Just got lost in my head for a minute, don't worry," she pulled him closer to her, "Everything is completely normal," she promised before tip toeing up to plant a kiss on his cheek.
She couldn't have friends, that was insane. She wasn't the kind of person to form those kinda of relationships. But, she couldn't deny that she did develop feelings of friendship for a few people, even if she was secretly plotting the demise of their families and loved ones. Desi let her mischievous look play back into her eyes, "Hey, where were we?' she said in a low voice as she stepped in closer now. It was different now, she was starting to feel worried about his feelings. She internally groaned at herself. Come on, this was Elias! Plus, his feelings meant nothing to her if she really thought about it. Friends got hurt too, who cared? Plus, Elias wouldn't get hurt, they had been doing this ever since she first arrived at Hogwarts in their fourth year.
She lightly traced her finger up his arm as she tried to bring the moment back. It wasn't that hard, actually. He was still looking handsome and sweaty in his work out shirt, his muscles were still exposed and defined, nothing had changed. Desi cocked on eyebrow at him, "Unless you have to get back to your run?" she said with a little pout. It had actually been a few weeks, or maybe days, since they had been able to have some quality snogging time together. She knew that she was thirsty for him, she often was for a lot of people, but she had killed the moment. She was mentally slapping herself for that. __________________________

The answer Desi gave to his question showed the ridiculousness behind it. Desi wasn't one that dated. He couldn't ever recall seeing her with a guy that she referred to as "boyfriend". What the reason behind that was, was unknown to Elias. Perhaps, like him she feared commitment, or maybe she took pleasure in the joys of being single. Whatever the motive was, Elias felt as if he didn't need to know so he wasn't going to ask. If she had answered yes to his question it would have surprised him.
At her request to pick things up where they left off, Elias really wasn't in the mood anymore. The moment had long left them and despite Desi's little attempts to reawaken what was dead, Elias just couldn't get that feel back. There wasn't anything wrong with Desi. It was him. He just couldn't get over the little panic attack that had just hit him. Right now all he wanted to do was step into a hot shower and let all the tension ease out of his muscles. A hot bubble bath in the Prefect's Bathroom would do him some good.
"We were about to go our separate ways." he said as he took her hand that was playing along his arm and bestowed it with a kiss. "Thank you for being the highlight of my run, but I'm really sorry, Des. This was fun and I think this is it for today." ending things on such a glum note wasn't in Elias' intentions. This was supposed to be a quiet jog around Hogwarts and while it quickly got interesting with him running into Desi, it didn't end how he expected it to either. He put on the best smile he could muster and said "I promise I'll make it up to you later my dearest Desirae." kissing her forehead, he took a few steps back before turning around and making his ascend towards the castle.
