[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] We ain' never getting older [attr="class","itokaytext"]It was cold outside, the wind was breezing inside and Thalia watched on as a few of her dormmates snuggled inside their blankets. She could see the full moon shining brightly from her position. She herself was deeply buried in her blankets when she heard a small hoot alerting her of an owl. Sighing she looked up to see whose owl it was, and saw that it was her father's owl near her bedside window with a letter clutched in its beak. The customary letter, she thought with a ghost of smile. As a kid she used to wait eagerly for those letters from her parents, who were very busy back then. But now that she thought about it, all she can feel is a tinge of sadness. She slowly stood up, still very much wrapped in get blankets as she stayed them with her as she went towards Hector and took the letter, not before giving it since treats and sending her back to the owlery. Thalia walked back and sat against the headboard to read. It was the same old, 'how was she doing? How are your studies?' But this time another question made into their usual pattern,'What have you decided for your future?' It was not as though she needed to earn, her parents made sure that their vaults were filled up without any chance of becoming poor.
A question she herself had been pondering over the whole day, cooped up on get dorm room. She had been quite bored and one thought lead to another and she was left thinking about the same thing over and over again. Was she doing correct? This has been her line of thought ever since she decided to deviate from her parents legacy, which was nearly six years ago. But by not following it, was she doing the right thing? Was she happy? Yes, was she satisfied? Yes, but there was she sure of her future? Honestly speaking she doesn't have an answer to this question. She did choose to become a witch weekly /dialysis prophet gossip columnist. But will she ever have a name for herself in that field? Forget about her outdoing her parents, she wasn't even sure whether or not she would succeed. Sighing loudly she tried to get rid of the thus and get some sleep, and after nearly an hour of tossing around and turning she lost her patience and decided to take a trip to the common room to think things through. She walked down the steps slowly and could see a silhouette of a person already present there. She couldn't see the face either and neither could she tell who it was. "Trouble sleeping?" she asked in a calm nonjudgmental voice.

It was incredibly late and she knew this because she kept yawning. It was funny to her because, as much as she kept yawning, she couldn't actually sleep. So instead of laying up in her bed, staring up at her ceiling in futility, she'd decided to get up and find something to do. She hadn't actually wanted to leave the common room on the chance that she would get caught and make Hufflepuff suffer with a loss of points. She also didn't need to chance getting a detention that would be on a quidditch practice day. Instead, she decided to take a few things down with her to he common room and practice transfiguring them into random thing. With her burgers slippers on her feet, she went down into the common room, sitting nearest to the fire, and placed the items she'd grabbed on the table at her side. She assumed she'd practiced for an hour before she became bored with it. She loved Transfiguration, it was something that she was good at but there was only so much she could practice.
Yet another yawn escaped from her and she was ready to pull her hair out because she was so bored. That was when she heard the footsteps coming down the stairs. Her head quickly snapped in the direction of the sound to see girl descending. "Trouble sleeping?" It was Thalia Wood. She was seventh year, the daughter of famous quidditch players actually. People would think Zita would be geeked about that, having someone near with a connection to famous Quidditch players. She knew better though, you don't just use someone just to get close to someone else. How rude would that be. Thalia didn't seem to be too into Quidditch anyway so they were probably just normal parents to her. Minus the endless riches of course. "Yes, and I'm honestly not sure why. I woke up and just couldn't get back to bed," she sighed, "I guess you're having a bit of trouble too?"

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] I know a bad boy ain't good enough for you [attr="class","itokaytext"]Thalia was not surprised when the other person responded back with an answer. And as she moved forward, she saw that it was Zita, a girl from the year below her. She listened on as the girl spoke, and nodded, I can understand that". And she moved to sit over in one of the couches in front of the fire. Tucking her legs, she spoke in reply to her question, "not trouble, but more like I was rudely awaken by my father's owl and after that I couldn't get back to sleep". Well, there was no reason as to why she would have to lie to the girl and considering that she has not spoken about what really was keeping her awake she wasn't lying even. May be in truth she was covering up the truth she wants to not accept and get her head round it.
As Thalia looked at her hands which were clasped in her lap, just as her eyes caught the slippers the other girl was wearing and she grinned. "You have got quite an attractive pair of night slippers Zita" said Thalia as she offered a smile and a wink. Looking at the hings on the table she wondered what the girl was doing and asked the same, "not to sound nosy or anything, but were you studying something?" If the girl was studying, the last thing Thalia would do was disturb her.

Zita frowned a bit when Thalia stated she was awakened by her father's owl and was unable to get back to sleep. She couldn't really decided which one she thought was worse, being awakened from sleep or not having been to sleep at all. Maybe it depended on later tasks. "That sucks. I would be upset too," she commented. She couldn't imagine it being a very good owl if it was keeping her awake either. Zita caught the moment that Thalia's eyes paused her her slippers and she was grinning even before the girl could comment on them. They were her favorite pair of slippers and, actually, the only shoes she owned that she didn't transfigure to be another pair. Sure she owned plenty of pairs of shoes and many people wondered how she had so many pairs. It was because she transfigured a pair to look different when she wanted to switch it up. "I know right? Aren't they great? I got them in fourth year. They're my favorite pair," she moved her feet just a bit to show them off better. Thalia's question about her studying caught her off guard for a moment before she snorted. "Not even a little. I was bored enough and I've got to find some way to make myself fall asleep." She grabbed her wand and flicked it at one of the books she'd grabbed, watching it turn into a box before she turned it back. It was in the same condition it was in before she'd turned it. It was simple transfiguration but it was something to do. "What had you planned on doing when you came down?"

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] watch me speak from my heart when it comes to you [attr="class","itokaytext"]Thalia could see the frown on Zita's face and wondered why she slipped the last bit in. Why did she have to mention that it was from her father. Any owl would have been better, but mentioning that it was her father's , bad mistake Thalia she thought. Being the only daughter of her parents, Thalia had been the center of attention for quite some time. People always tried to get something about their family from her, because she was the weak link. She was young and didn't have much experience in dodging questions like her parents. And it did not help that she usually speaks things without meaning them to and right now was the best example. What would the other girl think about her now. Oh sweet Circe, help her. Time to cover up her slip, thought Thalia as she spoke againyeah, I was not expecting dad's owl at this time.It usually comes in the morning, you see."A bit better, she thought. Thalia has never been that good at covering up or trying ot sugar coat things. But at times when she really had to, she just hoped that no one would see through her attempts in lying.
And luckily for Thalia the topic changed into a much danger free zone. She could see the grin on the other girl's face which set off Thalia to giggle. "They are perfect, in fact I quite like them, they look quite cozy too" she said looking at the slippers which Zita was now showing off. While Thalia was never the type to enjoy people showing-off, she does appreciate things which need them, for example the slippers she was currently looking at. "Where did you buy them? If they have slippers like these, I am sure I would find something similar to these, may be a hotdog slippers?" and grinned at the idea of roaming around wearing it. Oh, it would be a field day for everyone trying to figure out why she was wearing such odd selection of shoes.
In response to her question about reading, the other girl denied it. Well if she was not studying then Thalia could use the company. At the idea of reading to try and fall asleep, Thalia cracked a laugh and said "if you figure it out, do tell me. I would pretty much like to get some sleep too, you know. the owl frightened me beyond wits"she slipped the last part, in an attempt to cover up her previous slip-up. The last thing she needed were rumors about the rocky relationship between her and her parents plastered all over the papers. As much as she hated it, Thalia could never truly trust someone. That was how she was ever since a child and she could not see why it would change anywhere in the future. As Zita asked about her, Thalia shrugged and said "no idea, I pretty much wanted to get away from my dorm".

Zita laughed a bit when the older said she had been expecting her dad's owl in the morning instead. "That make sit even worse. I would hate to be awakened out of my sleep for an owl. I would have read it later," she snickered. Considering all of the things she did throughout the day, she really needed her sleep. An owl was never important enough that it needed to read right away anyway. Unless it was marked as such, she would have taken the owl and stuffed it somewhere for later. Thalia's giggle had her beaming just a bit more. She was glad someone else found the humor in her wearing such eccentric slippers. "They are super comfortable and they keep my feet really warm. Especially when walking around on the cold dungeon floor," she began, "I didn't buy them myself. My dad brought them back for me after returning from a trip to America. He's a magizoologist so he travels a lot and brings my sister and I back a bunch of weird things. These shoes were perfection though." It had been really nice too because her father knew she loved shoes. He sometimes complained that she had too many of them but he'd brought her back those shoes anyway to add to her collection. She'd known when she first got them that they had to be shown off."I am certain that hotdog ones exist so if you get a pair we can shake up the common room together," she laughed. She then smiled and nodded at the girls words on both wanting to get back to sleep and watching to get away from her room. It was the same reason she'd come down herself, wanting to get out of the room instead of just laying in the dark. Then Zita got a mischievous look on her face. "I'm bored and awake. You're bored and awake. You up for an adventure?"

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] We ain't never getting older [attr="class","itokaytext"]Thalia mentally thanked the Lord's as Zita seemed to not pay any concentration on things which were slipped by her earlier. And as she laughed, Thalia too managed to smile a little and spoke "it is annoying to wake up to the pecking of owl. Dad's owl is very persistent and takes his words in a literal sense, and doesn't leave the letter at my bedside like mine does." Sometimes she wondered how many times the owl caused a heart attack by its crazy arrival at ungodly hours. As Zita spoke about her slippers the raven haired girl too was grinning and said "yes, I would definitely want my feet to not turn cold ". It was one thing that Thalia did not like about Hufflepuff, they live in the dungeons, and one could say that it is very much difficult during winters in that place. Sometimes she felt like scolding the sorting hat for not sorting her into gryffindor like her parents. Both her parents have been in the house of lions and it was quite a surprise that their only daughter got sorted into the house of badgers. Though neither of them said a word about it, in fact they were happy to know that their daughter was loyal and kind more than anything. Her mother did joke that kindness was something his father lacked, as she recalled all those times when Oliver had them practice during harsh cold winters.
" Alas, I cannot go to America just got these shoes" said Thalia after the other puff mentioned about the slippers. She may be quite well off boy there are limitations for her too. But Thalia did decide to try and search for it, if she couldn't find it, maybe she would have it made for her. Custom made things were quite common for Thalia considering her unique choices when it comes to dressing. As Zita spoke about her father, Thalia nodded and said " wow, a magizoologist you say. That's quite interesting, I bet he has found quite a number of different species of creatures ". On the other hand, Thalia knew that there was nothing special about her parents. Both were quidditch players, end of story. But apparently, given how much the wizarding world likes the game her parents were like living legends to the general public. And she won't even go to how they would behave upon knowing who she was. " Yes hotdog slippers would have been great "and she would get them too. As Zita suggested that they go for an adventure, Thalia's face brightened. " I am always up for an adventure. First we need to get out of this common room " she spoke in a low voice.

"Oh yeah, I would definitely hate that owl. Odie, my owl, is really playful and can be mean when he wants to. Just when someone is reaching for a letter, he'll fly upwards so you can't reach it. Sometimes it's funny but other times when it's a letter I've been waiting for it's annoying," Zita snickered as she talked about her own Great Grey owl. She loved Odie and he'd been her owl before she'd come to school. He'd always been a bit mean but she'd always found it funny when she heard about it happening to anyone else. She agreed with Thalia when the girl said she didn't want her feet to be cold. She hated when her feet were too cold, it was a really uncomfortable sensation. That's why she wore those slippers when she was awake like at night like she was now. "You don't necessarily have to go to America to get them. You can order them and get them sent here! I'm certain there's a way you can do that. That is, if you really want the shoes anyway," Zita shrugged and commented casually. She wasn't sure if Thalia would be serious about getting the shoes or not but she wanted to provided the information anyway. She was sure she'd heard of other housemates who's ordered things and had them send in by owl, even if they were muggle items. With magic, things were made much easier. She shrugged, something she was doing an awful lot, and smiled kindly when the older girl brought up her father. She had no interest in her father's line of work, being a magizoologist. She'd tried to get into when she was younger but knew that wasn't for her then. Her father told her a lot about his trips though and the creatures he found so she knew enough about magical creatures. Zita became extremely excited when she agreed to an adventure and she already had the same idea as Zita. Why not sneak out of the common room and chance someone catching them. "Yes!! Give me a moment, I'm going to run upstairs and grab a robe." Zita stood up and ran up the steps back to her dorm, making sure to be quiet enough as to not wake up any of her roommates. She grabbed her robe and ran back down as she was putting it on."Alright, ready when you are."

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] I don't know what's 'round the corner Way I feel right now I swear we'll never change [attr="class","itokaytext"] As Zita told about her own owl, Thalia gave a chuckle and said "wow, sounds like it is a task every single time for you". And for that moment, the raven-haired girl momentarily forgot why she actually was there in the common room at that time. Good gracious, talking to people is quite fun, of course it has to be the right person. Else Thalia would fall asleep whilst listening which would be very bad to deal with. As the other girl spoke about ordering them, Thalia nodded her head a smile forming on her face. Of course she could, why couldn't she?' thought Thalia, it is not going to take days long like muggle post order. "Yes, i can order them, why couldn't I think of it before. Sheesh" said Thalia a little surprised by her own behavior. 'That is, if you really want the shoes anyway', as the other girl added this Thalia exclaimed a little and said "of course I want it, I totally like to have unique things. And this food slipper idea is one such".
As Zita agreed to go out of the common room, Thalia grinned. At last she found someone who would come out with her and not recite the school rule book to her. If there was one thing Thalia loved, it was adventure. Growing up she listened to her parents talk about their own school time and fun aside from when talk about quidditch, she found herself wanting to explore more and more of the castle. She made it a point to go around the castle and enjoy herself a lot. After all it was her last year, and she wanted to make memorable moments which she can regale to her children later on. She did not want her life to be boring in anyway. As Zita told about grabbing a robe, Thalia nodded. And being the lazy person she was, she just took out her wand and summoned the dark green robe which was probably lying on her bed in her dorm room with a simple accio spell. Merlin, got to salute the person for creating the summoning spell. The joys of using it to make life simpler and a reason to be lazy for people like her. Just as Thalia wore her own robe and fastened it round her waist, she heard Zita come down. "I am ready" said Thalia as she walked towards the common room door and pushed it open.
Thalia tiptoed her way out of the common room through the door. She entered the dark dim corridors of the cold dungeons and was thankful for the warmth her robe was providing. She looked around trying to see if any ghost was lurking around, and when she found none, she turned to Zita and spoke in a very low voice "all clear, let's go". And as soon as she spoke, Thalia started walking down the corridor, the only sound was her light footsteps and her excited breath. 'Oh how happy she was right now'.

Just as she reached the bottom of the steps from getting her robe she realized that she could have just summoned it. She rather liked going up the steps to get it or anything else she needed; she didn't want magic to make her lazy. That wouldn't bode well for her quidditch playing or her career. When Thalia said she was ready she nodded and followed after her out of the portrait into the dark corridors of the castle. Their portrait closed behind her and the darkness seemed to surround the both of them. She didn't want to use her wandlight just yet just in case there was a professor or someone around to catch them. She found herself snickering and breaking the silence of the hallway just as the older girl whispered an all clear. She followed Thalia; she wasn't sure if the girl had a place in mind she wanted to sneak off too but Zita knew where she wanted to go. "So I missed dinner." she whispered into the darkness, "Can we go to the kitchens first since it's not that far away?" She'd been out on the Quidditch Pitch earlier just before dinner, practicing hard and hadn't made it to dinner in time. She had been so focused on her playing, which was a good thing when you were in the game, bad when you needed to eat. She wondered if the elves would have anything laying out for her to take. If not, she was sure there would be something that she could eat. They were kitchens after all, there was bound to be refrigerators there for her to raid.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] No limit in the sky that I won't fly for ya [attr="class","itokaytext"] Thalia and Zita tiptoed their way out pretty easily. Since it was past the patrol timings, she kind og guessed that none would be there. And besides, if they were there, she would most likely hide and of caught, she could make up one story or another. They were just walking, with no place in mins, especially her. She did not know if Zita wanted to go anywhere in particular. But Thalia on the other hand did not have any place, but she sure liked the idea of roaming in the castle at night. Of course they had to take care that the ghosts would not see them, the last thing they need is to be ratted out by ghosts. nope, not happening. She could not see Fat Friar any where, so for the time being she relaxed. Though they still had Bloody Baron and Peeves to worry about.
As they moved along, she heard Zita's voice. Turning around, she listened to what the younger girl wanted to say. She missed dinner, oh the poor girl. "C'mon then, first stop the kitchens"she said as she walked silently through the corrdiors. When they reached the painting of the fruit bowl, she tickled the pear and watched as the door opened for them. The moment she stepped inside, she could see many elves looking at them. She gave a tiny wave and said "hello there. Can we have some midnight food? my friend here missed her dinner"she asked politely. One of the elves who introduced himself as Dot, nodded away and asked them to wait while he would get them some food to eat. She could hear him muttering 'how can they miss dinner?' Thaliaa smiled amusedly. She can never forget how sweet and caring the elves can be. She turned to Zita and said "let's settle down shall we? And continue our talk."Thalia walked to the corner towards an empty table and siiting there, as comfortably as she can in her pj's and asked "not trying to sound like a mother hen or anything, but why did you miss your dinner?"

Zita gave a smile at her words. Luckily enough she didn't mind going to the kitchens first. Zita's stomach chose that moment to let out a growl and she chuckled in embarrassment. It took them not time to get to the kitchens since they were still in the dungeons and Zita was anticipating getting something in her stomach to stop the hunger pains she'd been ignoring. Thalia approached the portrait before she could and the doors swung open. Zita frowned when she realized that there were House Elves still awake in the kitchen. She wondered what they were doing up so late. They had to sleep too, or at least she thought they did anyway. Thalia requested a bit of food and the elf went back off into the kitchens to get it. Zita didn't know how long it would take and she didn't think she could wait for the elf to bring back something. And just as Thalia turned back to her, saying that they could finish there talk, Zita held up her finger. "Give me just a moment." The portrait door hadn't shut completely just yet so she reached her hand out to grab it just in time before sliding into it. In the kitchens, surprisingly enough, there were plenty of elves still up and hard at work. She was a bit flabbergasted by that actually. They didn't seem to really be paying attention to her either and she didn't spot the elf they'd spoken to first immediately but she did spot a bowl of fruit nearby on a counter. She swiftly snatched a small bushel of grapes from the bowl and slipped back out of the room to wait for the elf to come back. It would at least hold her over until then. She popped a grape in her mouth before she returned back to Thalia, following her to an empty table nearby. Zita chuckled at her mother hen comment. "No you're fine," she covered how mouth as she spoke and chewed, swallowing before continuing. "I just lost track of time practicing quidditch. Since we're benched because of the tournament I have to keep my skills up somehow."

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] [attr="class","itokaytext"] Thalia chuckled when she heard Zita's stomach growl and she spoke up "well well let's get to the kitchens, before your hunger attracts us attention" with a teasing smile. And as they entered the kitchens, Thalia remembered a few stories her parents have shared about their own memories attached to this place. Usually those memories involved the Weasley twins and the whole quidditch team and how they would end up sneaking up food from the kitchens for themselves and sometimes for their winning celebrations. She shook her head with a smile and wondered how much time it would take for the elves to whip up something for the other puff girl. And as Zita held up a hand, Thalia wondered what the matter was, and only when she came out with some grapes did she realize causing her to chuckle. As Zita joined her at the table, Thalia gave her some space and time for her to eat and said "take your time Zita, the talk can wait". When Zita mentioned why she missed dinner, Thalia understood it all too well. people usually got carried away and lost track of time when they practice quidditch or just flying. "That's something I can totally understand, so how did the practice go?" Zita snorted with grapes still in her mouth when Thalia told her to take her time. She was probably too hungry to realize that she was probably being rather unladylike as she ate the green grapes. At the very least, she continued to try and cover her mouth. "They're just grapes. That shouldn't impede me from being able to talk to you," she snickered behind her hand, mid-chew. It was entirely possible that she could choke on one of the grapes but she held out the hope that didn't happen. That'd be embarrassing. Zita nodded when Thalia said she could understand what she meant about missing dinner for quidditch. "It was good actually. i usually stay a bit later than everyone else because there's a bit of pressure on me to become captain next year." she admitted freely, "I need to keep my skills up for that too just in case I do get it but even if I don't get it I still need to make sure my keeping skills are sharp." She smirked but she was certain it looked a little bit sideways due to the amount of grapes she had in her mouth. She wouldn't even mind not getting the captain's position. She'd already talked about it Jamie and.. well it hadn't ended so well but she had plans on being the new captain of GSA and if she could not be stressed out her final year, she'd take it. "Do you come to games often?" Zita asked excitedly.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] Cause right now Everything is new to me. [attr="class","itokaytext"] Thalia just chuckled at the other girls' response, she should have expected that, considering that it was grapes. But then again she wanted the girl to not feel obliged to talk even while she was eating. As Zita talked about quiditch, Thalia listened on. However, the other girl being under pressure because of the coming year captaincy was news to her. She knew that both Zita and Ripley were in the line, but now that she thought about it,Ripley being a prefect would put her down in the list and push Zita up. Now that made sense to her. She then spoke up "leave about what the others expect of you, and as for captaincy..do you want it?" As she mentioned her keeping skills, Thalia nodded and said "I've seen you play a few times, you are good. But then again there is room for improvement, dad always said that to me"she said with a fond smile. Where quidditch was concerned, her dad was pretty dedicated and mom always makes fun of it and tells her stories about how her dad was back at school. As Zita asked if she comes to games often, to which Thalia chuckled a little and said "I may not play on the team, but I sure watch the games and follow the plays."
