February was a time of celebrating love, so it was thankfully easy to think of a plot for what the GSA would talk about that month, especially since Cecelia and Zita had been able to refine their plans in their pre-meeting meeting (which sounded like a lot of meetings...because it was). As always, Cecelia had wanted to serve refreshments, and the house elves had outdone themselves with a variety of pink and red, heart shaped foods. Professor Zhu had apparently gone along with the theme, and there were streamers and shimmering, metallic hearts hanging from the ceiling. it looked more like a Valentine's Day party than a club meeting, and Cecelia was oddly okay with that idea. She was excited to be able to talk about romance, and especially what that meant for LGBTQ+ people and heterosexual people alike. She was hopeful that this month's meeting would be informative for anyone and everyone who wanted to come, and since there were stacks of cookies, too, Cece hoped that more people would be lured in than ever before.
(this is going to be a free-for-all, party-style thread! feel free to post as many or as few as your characters as you want, and ask me if you want a character who's not a club member to attend! this month's meeting's theme is romance, and cece will be starting the official meeting on may 20th!)

The last GSA meeting that she had attended—not that she had bothered to keep up with the schedule for them—felt to Maxima as though it had happened in another life. She and Georgiana had been avoiding one another then. Now, she was hoping that Georgie and Louis would show up so that she would have someone to talk to other than Jamie—not that she minded her half-sister's company, either. Parties weren't really her “thing”, but Max also knew that she wasn't obligated to stay if it wasn't to her liking.
She hadn't heard anything about needing to dress up for the occasion, so she hadn't—still wearing the jeans and oversized sweater that she had put on after changing out of her uniform when she arrived to the Charms classroom. The party itself, though, looked appropriately themed without being so overdone that it would be intolerable. As one of the first people there, Max stepped inside and looked around at it all. There were streamers and even more food than the cookies that Cecelia had brought to the other meeting.
“Hi,” she greeted to no one in particular, finding her usual seat for Charms lessons and sitting there.

Zita was excited for the party/meeting that Cecelia had planned. With a little help from her of course. Being co-captain of such a great club was.... well great! She was actually really glad that they'd decided to do a party meeting rather than just a sit down and talk meeting. This would make it more fun, open the room up to new people who would be intimidated by a direct discussion meeting. And it allowed more people to get to know each other. She walked into the room and looked around in awe of the decorations. Professor Zhu had gone all out for the meeting. Everything looked great from the decorations spread around the room to the food that was laid out. She thought about taking a cookie before thinking better of it. She'd wait until more people arrived. Maxima Greyback and, of course, Cecelia had already arrived. She wasn't' late this time but she felt like she was because she arrived after a club member had. "Hey Cecelia. Welcome to the party Max," she smiled at both of the ladies that were there. She hoped more people attended. Instead of sitting as Max had, she went and stood nearer to Cecelia. All to put up the leadership front.

Jamie had been contemplating going to the GSA meeting for a while now. She wanted to, of course, but she was also slightly worried. Her pen pal seemed to already know her identity, and by showing up to the GSA meeting, Jamie was confirming that she wasn't straight, and that could be the thing that the letter writer needed to know whether or not she really was on the other end of the quill. Of course, if her secret admirer was in the GSA, she probably knew Jamie was a member as well already, and skipping the meeting wouldn't mean hiding her identity - it would just mean skipping a meeting. When Jamie walked into the Charms classroom, she was immediately glad that she had decided to come - the place was beautiful! Jamie couldn't recall it ever being so dressed up before, for a club meeting or for class. Better yet, the two people that were already there (in addition to the Captain) were two that Jamie knew. "Hey, Max." Jamie greeted her sister. "Have you met Zita before?" She said, gesturing to the other Hufflepuff. "She's the Keeper for Hufflepuff." Jamie explained, in case her little sister wondered why Jamie knew the other girl. Hopefully Max would realize that Jamie was just trying to start a conversation to keep them occupied until the real meeting began.

Roxy liked GSA, and if pressed would certainly deny that it was because it was where she had met Viola. Instead she'd place very firm blame on the whole 'not straight' inkling, and the fact that all those cookie patterns had told her there was probably a label that fit. There were already a few people in the Charms classroom when she arrived, and happily she knew most of them. "Hello," she said brightly to the room. "Ooo, cookies!" She grabbed a cookie, and sat on one of the desks, because it was club time, and she could. maxima ruqayyah greyback@jamie @zita @cecelia

It was the moment of truth. It was the freaking moment of truth and she was nervous. Nobody would notice really unless they knew her well enough to know that when she tugged on her earring she was nervous, which is exactly what she kept doing now as she stood outside of the charms classroom door. She was waiting because just as she went to enter the room, she saw a flash of blonde hair and recalled all of the letters, she was sure, they'd sent back and forth. After going over the letters and going over what she knew, she'd come to the conclusion that her anonymous writer was Jamie Greyback. Jamie. Greyback. Wolf girl. The same person she'd been incredibly rude to when trying to get into the Room of Requirement. To listen to songs that she'd suggested. Fan-freaking-tastic. And just thinking about the letters made her heart pound in her ears. And just thinking about the fact that she was about to walk into the classroom with her made it worse. She needed to confirm. She didn't know how but she'd do it. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself before she walked into the classroom. "Hello everyone." She was polite. To keep her eyes busy, to keep them from looking at her, she studied the decorations and the food and everything else before taking a seat. She let her eyes wander to her, she was talking with the co-captain and her sister and... why hadn't she noticed before that she was so cute? She could do this. Even if she kept tugging at her earring.

Viola was going somewhere, and they weren't telling Maria where. She'd been pestering her partner all morning about it, trying to get them to share their plans with her but Viola's lips were sealed. Normally Maria liked how stubborn Viola was, but it could be blasted annoying when she really wanted something. So, since Viola was being completely and totally uncooperative Maria made the only logical decision. Keep following Viola, bugging them, until she figured it out. Obviously this wasn't actually a logical decision at all, and was no doubt extremely annoying to Viola. But Maria was just as relentless as they were stubborn. Eventually she would win, and she knew she would, because either Viola would tell her or she'd follow them to their plans.
Unfortunately Viola seemed to have chosen the 'follow them to their plans' route, and Maria refused to let Viola out of her sight. Following them around like a lost puppy, or a cat demanding attention from it's human. Both were very fitting descriptions of Maria's behavior in general when Viola was around. Eventually she did, in fact, follow Viola to their destination... And stopped in the doorway. Hearts. Pink. Lots of Pink. Maria almost gagged right then and there. Despite being such a hyper-sexual individual she disliked Valentine's day (partially because she really hated how many love confessions she got each time the holiday came around. But also just how ridiculous it made people act.). Viola, of course, knew about Maria's disdain for the holiday, and especially all things pink (despite being quite feminine she hated the color). Almost immediately Maria turned around, intending to walk right past Viola on her way out and not come back. "Oh, hell no." She stated bluntly. It wasn't just because it was just the holiday though. She knew what club this was, and she really didn't feel like listening to a bunch of teenagers too afraid to admit what they did and didn't like.

Viola was going to the GSA meeting. They hadn’t really expected Maria to want to follow them where they went, but they should have known that the intrigue of Viola going someplace and not saying where would be too much for their girlfriend to resist. In truth, Viola hadn’t wanted to tell Maria about the GSA meeting because Roxy was probably going to be there, and it was complicated to explain to your girlfriend that you had a crush on another girl, or to the girl you had a crush on that you had a girlfriend. (The latter would actually be fairly easy, given Maria’s stance towards love and her multitude of partners, but considering how adamant Viola had first been about being monogamous, it felt rather hypocritical to change their stance just because they now liked two people.) Maria continued to ask questions about their plans for the day, but Viola was just as stubborn as their girlfriend, if not more so, because they actually did have a reason for doing what they were, even if the reason wasn’t so great. Eventually Viola had stopped attempting to get Maria to stop pestering them, and had decided to go to the GSA meeting despite the potential awkwardness that could arise.
Anything and everything that could have gone wrong was immediately offset by Maria’s reaction to walking into the room. Viola wasn’t a fan of the color pink themself, and there were better holidays than Valentine’s Day, but the look of absolute disdain, and maybe disgust, on Maria’s face when she saw all the decorations in the Charms room? Priceless. Absolutely priceless. Maria made a move to leave, but Viola stepped in between their girlfriend and the doorway. “Oh, hell yes.” They responded. “This is what you get for following me, my Maria.” Maria had her cake, and now she was going to be forced to eat it, no matter how pink or how sickly sweet it was.

Zita felt her confidence boost, as it always did, when more people began to walk into the door of the classroom. Of course, many were familiar faces from previous meetings. Her Quidditch Captain and friend Jamie came in not too much later and she waved at her. She spoke with her sister, striking up a conversation and asking if Max had meet Zita before. "Of course she's seen me here. We don't need any formal introduction or anything like that. But it is very nice to finally formally meet you," she smiled at the younger girl. Zita looked around again as a few more people walked through the door. A new face appeared, Durmstang she guessed by who she showed up with. New faces were good! New faces meant a possibility of new opinions and a chance to share knowledge with someone new. How fun.

Tatiana had heard all about—although never once from the two students who had been involved—how two Durmstrang students were in the Hospital Wing because one had supposedly torched the other. What was more was that those two students were supposedly in a relationship with one another, and one of them was a girl called Maria.
She hadn't wanted to confront Maria about what had actually happened—and whether or not it was true that she was actually dating someone else—and whether or not she had been dating them when she had led her on—and whether or not she had intended to lead her on—while she was still in the Hospital Wing. Doing that just didn't seem right, although the rumors had been frustrating. Maria—the very same Maria who had encouraged her not to be seen by her family as such a baby—wouldn't have played with her heart like that.
Wanting to say something about the situation and actually acting on it were completely different, though, and Tania had been hoping that Maria would find her and address it once she was out of the Hospital Wing. And then she didn't, and Tania had to wonder if she had been making something out of nothing. She knew what she had felt for Maria, and she knew that those feelings had been and were still strong, stronger than any feelings that she had ever had for anyone before her.
Valentine's Day, as a result, didn't seem promising, and avoiding Maria until the subject came up seemed like a better idea than making assumptions that might not have been true. She hadn't been told anything—one way or another—by Maria directly, and what if what she had heard was all just an exaggeration of the truth?
Still, she wasn't going to break her plans to go to the GSA meeting just because she hadn't heard anything from Maria and hadn't wanted to blow things out of proportion to create a conflict that wasn't actually there. Besides, no one even knew about her and Maria. They weren't “official”; they never had been.
As she walked in the direction of the Charms classroom, Tania hoped that no one would be so obsessed with the holiday that—“This is what you get for following me, my Maria.”
“My” Maria. The word stung. Did the person Maria was dating know that Maria had probably cheated on them with her? Tania took a step back, seeing that whoever it was had blocked the doorway, meaning that she couldn't get in, either—at least, she couldn't if she didn't want to face Maria. She breathed in sharply, almost gasping for air, as she caught sight of Maria.
Hoping that Maria hadn't seen her, she ducked against the wall, her heart pounding in her chest. Maria was still so hot, which only made it worse to think about… No. No. No. She wasn't a bad person. She hadn't wanted to hurt anyone!
Tania looked sideways, towards the doorway. Zita must have been in there; Jamie probably was, too. She knew that she would be alright with them there—distracting herself with a Quidditch discussion would work—but that was if she ever got that far.

The next person in the door had been Zita Fernandez. Max couldn't say that she knew Zita very well; she knew her, of course, because she was on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team with Jamie, but she didn't know the girl in the year above her beyond a superficial level.
“Welcome to the party, Max.”
Max lifted her hand in a slight wave of acknowledgment then saw Jamie enter the room.
“Hey, Max. Have you met Zita before? She's the Keeper for Hufflepuff.”
Before she could say that, yes, she knew Jamie's teammate, Zita had already chimed in. “Of course she's seen me here. We don't need any formal introduction or anything like that. But it is very nice to finally formally meet you.”
“Yeah,” Max nodded, trying to deflect the awkwardness of being introduced to someone she sort of already knew. “Nice to meet you, Zita,” she replied. The GSA was more Jamie's “thing” than it was hers, even though both of them fell under the broader definitions of belonging to the LGBTQ+ community, which made it a challenge to think of anything more to say beyond what she had already said. Quidditch wasn't exactly the school's priority, since the Triwizard Tournament was going on.
Speaking of the Triwizard Tournament, two of their visitors from Durmstrang had made their way—almost—into the classroom. One was Maria, Elias's cousin; the other was Viola, someone whom Max had only briefly met. She had heard something about their having ended up in the Hospital Wing, and—while it was unfortunate—to say that she had never really cared for Maria was an understatement, and Viola was just… there.
Seeing that Maria was attempting to leave the room before the meeting had even begun, Max rolled her eyes and then looked over in the direction of the two Durmstrang students. “We don't bite, Maria,” she noted. It wasn't exactly an invitation for her to join them, but the GSA was meant to be an inclusive space.

Viola had stepped into Maria's path, blocking her hasty escape with a smug statement about this is what she got for following them. Maria's eyes immediately narrowed into slits, a venomous look in them as her lips formed a thin line. Thank goodness looks couldn't kill (excluding Basilisks of course), because the look was practically murderous. And for a moment Maria actually looked as if she was seriously considering it, despite Viola being her partner. Apparently too much pink, and her escape routes being cut off brought out the bad side of Maria. "I could make you move, you know." She breathed, the threat clear, though unfortunately Viola knew Maria wouldn't actualy follow through with it. Short of trying to physically push past Viola, Maria would never lash out against Viola. Perks of being someone she liked.
It was in that moment that Maria spotted a dark head bob into, and then out of sight behind Viola, and that murderous look vanished and was replaced by immediate intrigue. It was almost like a switch, Maria's mood changing faster then anyone could follow. She'd recognized that dark hair, and she reached past Viola to catch the arm of the girl trying to vanish out of sight. "Tania!" Well, at least Maria sounded like she was in a mildly amused mood, quite different from that almost bloodlust a moment before. She pulled on the younger girl's arm, not hard, but hoping the girl might give in and enter the room. She shot Viola her own smug look then. "Why didn't you say someone so cute would be here, Viola?" Oh, Maria was taunting them now, almost as if to tell them that if she was forced to be here she was going to have fun. Her definition of fun.
That smug look disappeared as she heard her name. Releasing Tania's arm, Maria turned to face the owner. Elias' half sister. The little one. Immediately a mockingly sweet smile appeared. That was never a good look to get from Maria. "That's too bad. I do." She answered, her voice dripping that sickeningly sweet sarcasm. "Maxima, right? I hardly recognize you without your wand pointed at me. Plucked up some courage the past few months?" Now that was a blatant taunt. Maria had promised Elias she'd tried to get along with his siblings... But sometimes it was just so blasted hard.

Cecelia watched as people began to trickle into the room; despite the worries that she had expressed to Zita about the meeting being sparsely attended, it seemed like they were going to be able to have at least a decent discussion. Cecelia was doing a mental head count while also nodding to the various people that walked into the room, smiling as her co-captain came into the room. Professor Zhu was in the room, but didn’t seem to be paying much attention to what they were doing – lost in thought, though what about Cecelia didn’t have a clue. Because the professor wasn’t paying much attention, Cecelia was on higher alert, watching with interest when one of the Durmstrang girls came in, and immediately tried to leave. Her way was blocked by another Durmstrang student, though, and Cecelia raised her eyebrows as she watched that go down, quickly followed by the first girl – Maria was her name, if Cece wasn’t mistaken – being called welcomed by Maxima Greyback. That looked like it was going to be all sorts of trouble, if Maria’s reaction to the little Slytherin was anything to go by. In the interest of not letting two club members get into a physical altercation, Cecelia clapped her hands loudly to get their attention, not bothering with the whole forced-smile thing she had tried before. “Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!” She said happily. “Today we’re going to be talking in groups. So, if you’d be so kind as to arrange yourself by birthday – January through April is a group, May through September is another, and then October through December is the last.” Cecelia announced, having decided it was just simplest to split the year into three parts and hope that the groups were somewhat equal in number. If not she could always rearrange them a little. “Our first discussion question is: What does love mean to you?” That wasn’t even really LGBTQ+ specific (most of the questions weren’t), but Cece hoped it would be a good introduction.

He was late again, and this time he hadn't actually been his fault, though he hadn't cared either way. He'd decided to attend another GSA meeting, this one on Valentine's Day so he could only imagine what the subject matter was going to be about today. He wondered if Theodosia was going to be at this one too. That thought may have played more of a part in his decision to attend than he wanted to think about. So he made his way tot he Charms Classroom and even before he approached the doorway he heard someone speaking. Had the meeting just started? Maybe he wasn't as late as he thought he'd been. Entering the classroom he saw the decorations of the classroom and felt a shiver of disgust creep through him. It was tacky and too much. Every time he came to one of these he always seemed to regret it and yet he kept coming back. It was possible that he was insane. He entered just as she said something something about "October through December" and watched as a few students huddled together in some semblance of a circle. They were breaking down into smaller groups for discussion this time. He went towards his designated group and stood as she mentioned what their first topic would be: What does love mean to him. Great, another winning topic for discussion. He rolled his eyes and waited for others to begin speaking.

Viola knew that Maria wouldn’t have been happy about them blocking the way, and they were more than prepared for the consequences of that decision. Thankfully, Maria cared too much about them to do them any serious bodily harm on purpose. “You could make me do a lot of things, my Maria, but have you ever tried?” They asked with an arched eyebrow. The list of things that Maria wanted from Viola but they had refused was not a short one by any means, but despite their resistance, Maria had never forced Viola to do anything that they hadn’t wanted to do. Of the two of them, Viola probably forced Maria into more uncomfortable situations than vice versa – like this one. Apparently someone had come up behind Viola’s back, because Maria was greeting Tania. Why did that name sound familiar? Viola turned around to see if they recognized the face, peering around the corner to do so. Nope, the fact didn’t jog anything, but they were sure they had heard that name before. When Maria continued on, asking why they hadn’t mentioned someone so cute was going to be there, everything fell together. This girl must have been one of Maria’s little playthings. If the other girl’s reaction was anything to go by, she hadn’t realized she was being played at all. Normally that would have annoyed Viola, but honestly, if someone was going to be flirting with their girlfriend, whatever scars they got out of it weren’t their problem. It wasn’t like anyone tried to hide the fact that Maria and Viola were dating – it would just be straight ignorance or laziness that led to not realizing that. “There are cute people wherever you go, Maria.” They just said with a little bit of a sigh. Maria couldn’t be tamed, but that didn’t mean that it wasn’t an inconvenience for Viola to have to deal with it.
Viola’s attention was pulled back into the room by Max saying something about not biting, and then Maria immediately retorting back that she did bite. “Maria, dearest,” they said through gritted teeth, “Perhaps try to avoid making trouble?” Normally Viola would egg their girlfriend on, if only for their own amusement, but since they had been the one to drag their girlfriend along, Maria taunting people would only reflect poorly on them.
