Liona was pacing outside of the Gryffindor common room with her hands clasped tensely at her back. She was waiting on her relatively good friend Molly Weasley, Anna Weasley. She never really understood why she didn't just go by Molly because it was a pretty name. That was beside the point though. She needed some advice. And information. Because she had strong feelings for a certain blonde Hufflepuff werewolf, feelings that were developing every day actually, and she was sure that she may have seen Anna hanging around the very blonde werewolf that she'd become enamored with through her letters. And even if she hadn't hung around her a lot, she knew that said werewolf had a lot of Gryffindor friends so maybe they shared some mutual friends and she could provide some information through those means. She'd finally gotten the truth and confirmed that, yes, it was Jamie Greyback whom she'd exchanged anonymous letters with. It hadn't been the recent GSA meeting that had made her certain, but Jamie's own hints that'd given herself away. Conversation had been moved to possible future endeavors and Jamie had discussed that, if not for her present career pursuits, she'd want to be a potioneer and would wish to research the Wolfsbane potion. She paused in her pacing then and sighed, a goofy smile on her face as she thought about her. She was so bloody intelligent. And beautiful. And sweet. And funny. And she probably looked really stupid standing there in the middle of the the hallway near the Gryffindor's common room, where she obviously did not belong. She noticed there were some younger years staring at her now. She wanted to sneer but instead she just waved and smiled at them so they would move along. She went back to her pacing and looked up every time the portrait opened to see if Anna would appear.

Anna was so tired of studying. It felt like that was all she ever did anymore. Studied for her classes, studied for the tournament. Sure, she took breaks to be with Oscar and she did things with Jamie Greyback on Saturdays, but Anna still felt overwhelmed. She was starting to hate the word "study". So she decided to be done for the day. She wasn't really sure what she was going to do, but she was done being cooped up in the common room, with hoards of books around her. It was time for her to get up and do something. She'd see if she ran into anyone on her way outside and if she did she'd spend time with them. If not, she was going to search out Oscar and make him do something with her, not that she thought he'd resist. He always seemed happy to be with her and she was positive today would be no different. She walked out the portrait hole and her gaze immediately fell on her friend, Liona, who was pacing the corridor. Anna approached her, not sure what was going on with her friend, but almost sure that she was here to talk with Anna. "Hey Liona. What are you doing all the way up here?" she asked with a smile.

The longer she paced, the tighter she gripped her hands together. Maybe she wasn't up here? Maybe she'd gone to the Great Hall or maybe she was doing tournament stuff? These were the thoughts that plagued Liona as she continued looking up every time the portrait to the common room opened and it wasn't her intended subject. Until it did open and Molly Weasley came out. She sighed in clear relief as the Gryffindor approached her with a smile on her face. "Oh nothing really. I came to see how our lovely Champion was fairing today," she grinned at the red head, linking their arms and beginning a slow stroll away from the portrait. "How are you? How are your classes? How are you enjoying participating in the tournament? How much do you know about Jamie Greyback?" She spoke a little quickly but she wasn't even a little bit subtle in her questioning and she was sure Anna would pick up on it. She was trying to be nonchalant and, usually, she would be a bit better in her approach but she couldn't today. This was too important. She did genuinely wonder about how she was considering she didn't get to see her too often as of late. Her time was occupied plenty with studies and tournament tasks as well as any other friends Liona was sure she hung out with so she saw her when she could. Today was different because she sought her out.

Anna rolled her eyes when Liona said that all she wanted was to see how Anna was doing. As good of friends as the two were, Liona never did this before, for the first task or any of the time in between. Though she wasn't saying it yet, Anna was almost positive that her friend wanted to talk to her about something and she was quite interested to find out what it was. She laughed as Liona asked her a barrage of questions, all in quick succession. Her eyebrows lifted at the last one, but she decided to answer all the questions in order, mostly because she'd been asked, but also because she liked to tease Liona when she got the chance. This definitely seemed like a chance. "Oh, I'm doing quite well. I think I'm ready for the Second Task, but I guess we'll have to see. Classes are going quite well. I mean, I don't really have much to report about them, I'm sure you're going through the same things as me and I know a bit about Jamie. We're not best friends, but we talk." And we're meeting on Saturdays to have a relaxation time together .... no, Liona didn't need to know about that yet. Anna gave her friend a mischievous smile. "Why are you asking about Jamie?" Anna was extremely interested to find out what was going on with the two, and if nothing was, she was interested to find out why Liona was asking questions about Jamie.

Liona waited with bated breath as Anna began answering each of her questions one by one. She'd known that she would recognize her real reason for coming so she wasn't surprised when she tortured her and answered the most important one in the order that she'd placed it. She would have pouted had she not been amused by it. As long she did answer she was happy enough. It wasn't as if Liona didn't care about the answers to the other questions either. She listened to those too and nodded along with her answers until she'd gotten to the real question. They talked. They weren't bestfriends but they talked and that was enough for Liona. "Oh please, you're going to do great in the Second Task and anyone who thinks otherwise is rather silly and they don't know you very well. And considering you don't seem nearly as stressed out about N.E.W.T.s as I've seen others, I'm sure those will go great as well," she grinned. She wasn't too utterly stressed out about N.E.W.Ts either though there was one that was giving her a bit of pause. She'd been studying like mad for it. "Actually how much time are you spending studying?" When Anna asked about her seemingly sudden interest in Jamie, she paused a bit, wondering how to answer the question. She wasn't sure if she wanted to be completely honest about it just yet. She wasn't sure if she wanted to tell anyone just yet in case things went the way she expected them to go and Jamie never talking to her again once she figured out that Liona was her penpal. "Well.. she's recently become a person of interest... has she said anything about me to you," she asked, eyeing Anna curiously.

Anna gave a small laugh when Liona complimented her, saying she was going to do well on the Second Task. She shrugged a little. "Well what's the point in being worried about N.E.W.T.s when I have to worry about some task where I'm defending myself in life-and-death situations constantly?" she asked with a smile. Really though, Anna didn't think those exams could be half as hard as the tasks were for the Triwizard Tournament. And if they were ... well then she would probably fail because the majority of her time was spent studying for the Task, doing her homework, and spending her time with Oscar. "Are you feeling ready for the N.E.W.T.s?" She asked, more to be polite than anything else. Her eyebrows furrowed at the question, "Studying in general or for the exams or for the task?" Anna gave a short laugh. "I spend most of my time studying for one thing or another. I'm starting to dislike studying, to be honest." Anna was generally honest with Liona. They didn't talk all the time, but the girl was very blunt in a way that Anna appreciated, so she often responded in kind. Her eyebrow lifted when her friend talked about Jamie becoming a person of interest. She smiled just a little. "She hasn't mentioned anything to me yet about you ... but I wasn't aware that the two of you knew one another. When did this start?" She'd answer Liona's questions, obviously, but Anna was going to ask a few of her own in return.

Liona grasped her chin in thought. That was definitely true. The tasks were proving to be much more important than any exam she had considering she had to keep herself from dying. There should probably be a mandatory pass considering she was representing Hogarts in such a dangers competition and she didn't really have any time to devote to studying for exams. "Very good point. They should pass you just based on that. You're using any skills they could teach you in the competition anyway," Liona stated matter-of-factly with a nod. She then shrugged when the Gryffindor asked her of her own progress with N.E.W.T.s. "I don't really have anything to worry about. I honestly just can't wait for them to be over because that means we graduate," she sighed. She couldn't wait to be done with everything. She would miss having so much free time and being able to see the people she cared about all of the time but she was really excited for her career. She didn't think there were many people that were going to try for the Department of Mysteries but she was sure she'd see some of them at the Ministry. She snickered at her dislike of studying. "Neither do I but it's a means to an end. I am sure your dislike is doubled because most of your time is spent studying." She then watched as Molly's eyebrow lifted and she continued questioning how they knew each other. It wasn't that Liona wanted to hide it from anyone. It was just... really fragile. And because Molly knew Jamie, there was a chance that Molly could reveal her identity accidentally. She hid her relief that Jamie hadn't said anything, though her 'yet' hung in the air. "Of course we know one another. We share a few classes together and we are also in GSA together...." she pursed her lips in thought. Should she tell Molly? Maybe she could get some advice...?

Anna grinned at the comment about passing her just because of the tournament. "That would be nice, but I'm not holding out for it. I just hope that the studying I'm doing for the Tasks will help me with the exams at the end of the year." It was nice to know that Liona thought the same way she did though. In a way, it made Anna feel validated in her line of thinking. She cocked her head to the side curiously. "Are you excited to graduate?" she asked, though Liona sort of already answered that question. "Wait ... I can't remember. What do you want to do after graduation?" Anna listened carefully, as she did most of the time now when asking that question. Now that she wasn't quite sure what she wanted to do ... she was always listening to the ideas of other. Not that she'd really heard anything that sparked her interest. Not yet, anyway. She shrugged at Liona's comment about studying. "Probably. It's definitely not a preferred way to spend my time; it never has been," she admitted casually. This was Liona. She wouldn't be surprised by the admission. Most people didn't really see Anna as the studious type. She much preferred to be smiling and laughing with friends. Wow, this year was different from the others. Anna nodded once more as Liona explained how she knew Jamie. Then she paused a moment before asking another question. "So ... why are you asking me about her then?" Honestly, the whole topic seemed rather random to her.

"I wouldn't hold out for it either. The professors would never allow it. It's a nice thought though isn't it," Liona laughed. She figured that Molly was doing more than needed to pass N.E.W.Ts anyway so she would be fine. The tournament tasks seemed as if they required more than what the Professors were teaching anyway considering they had to dedicate themselves to research to perform well. Lest they die from lack of knowledge. She smirked when the girl asked what she wanted to do after graduation just after asking about her excitement for graduation. Her excitement was actually reaching peak levels now that she'd decided what she wanted to do and was actually going for it. It was more like a course of action though. First, serve the Ministry in as many aspects as possible before the age of forty when she can begin her campaigning for the position of Minister of Magic. "Well, if all goes well, you won't ever actually know what I'm doing because I won't be able to tell you," amusement lit up her face as she looked at her friend curiously, wondering if she would understand. Her goal, to begin with, was research in the Department of Mysteries so whatever job she would tell everyone would just be her cover story. The opportunities and knowledge that would become available to her just working in that department made her soul sing.. "It's studying. Very few people do, not even most Ravenclaws like it as more than a means to an end." There were people like her cousin and Molly's cousin Rose who didn't mind it or even liked it, but they were the odd ones of the bunch. When the topic returned to Jamie and Molly paused before asking her the question she knew would eventually come, she paused herself. She'd already settled on going with a half truth but where to start? She could tell her about the Room of Requirement incident but that would probably anger her and she didn't want her angry when she needed information and advice. Or she could tell her what Liona thought of as the bigger part. How there was a chance that Liona may sort of be in love with Jamie Greyback... Of course she'd never said those words. Or thought them really until now. But it was definitely a possibility. She didn't know if she wanted to open herself up that way but she may have to in order to get past the interrogation. She came to a complete stop, turning towards the red head and giving her a very serious look. "First I must start out by saying that you cannot tell anyone what I tell you. Especially her. You never talked to me about this. This conversation never happened. Well, this part of the conversation never happened. Agreed?"

Anna smiled and nodded, "It is. Maybe if they do another one of these, I'll try and make that a thing for the Champions. It's too late for me though. Guess I'll just hope my tournament studying helps me with N.E.W.T.s." Honestly though, Anna wasn't too nervous about it. Sure, the tests were big and important and she had every intention of doing well, but she was keeping up in her classes, understanding the material, and looking up lots of extra things for the Tournament. She should be just fine. Her eyebrows lifted when Liona said that she wouldn't be allowed to tell Anna what she did if she got where she wanted to. "Department of Mysteries?" she asked curiously, though Anna was pretty sure that's what Liona meant. Other than that, she couldn't imagine another place where she wouldn't be able to explain what she did. The Department of Mysteries was well known for that. "I guess you're right about that," she agreed when it came to studying. She knew Dom liked to study, but she didn't do it all the time. Dom also liked to have her fun. Rose was one that seemed to prefer to study ... but it all worked out. As long as they were happy with what they did, Anna was happy for them. After Anna's question, Liona seemed to be thinking. Well that was interesting in and of itself. Liona had always been one who simply said what she thought, but maybe this part of the conversation meant more to her than she wanted to let on. Anna watched hr curiously, waiting for a response. Then Liona stopped walking and was entirely solemn. One of Anna's eyebrows rose in surprise, but she instantly agreed to Liona's stipulation. "Of course. I wouldn't tell anyone about this Liona, not even if they asked." She nodded, trying to encourage the girl to tell her what she seemed to want to. Anna was so curious about it all now.

She rolled her eyes playfully and smiled at her. She didn't know which N.E.W.Ts exactly she would be sitting for but if it was th basic ones she assumed, she really wouldn't have any problems. "Which ones are you sitting for again? Do you feel that everything you've been doing for the tournament, you'll be fine?" she asked. She didn't think her answers matter because she somehow still thought the Gryffindor would be fine even if she was more worried than she let on. Or it was possible that Liona was pusing her own confidence onto her friend because she knew for certain that she would be fine come time for the exams. She nodded in confirmation that it was the Department of Mysteries she planned on going into. "As I said, if all goes well, and I plan on nothing short of everything going well, I'll be running that department without even having the title of head. They'll be looking for my input on everything." Liona grinned mischievously to herself. She had every plan on being the head of Department at some point in the nearer future, hopefully the youngest head of any department. Until then, it would be a great should of leadership to step up earlier than that and show how capable a witch she would be to run the department. And whoever the current head was could see that and take her on to become her mentor. Her excitement for graduation grew every time she thought about being in the department. At Molly's assurance that she wouldn't tell anyone, Liona gave a sigh. Where to start? "I... may possibly have developed some feelings for the Hufflepuff girl," she tried to sound logical and distant from her words but even speaking it out loud had her heart pounding so loudly in her ears she figured Molly would hear it. That lead to thoughts of her and she suddenly wondered what she was doing now. Was she somewhere, responding to the letter she'd sent? Had she even received her letter yet? "And she may have feelings for me. She just does not know it yet."

Liona was teasing, playing around with Anna and she was enjoying it. She needed to spend more time talking with her Slytherin friend. She just ... it was so easy for Anna to get overwhelmed by all the things she was trying to do. Still, she was going to make more of an effort for the rest of the year. "Oh, just the ones required to be an auror. You know, charms, defense against the dark arts, potions, trasnfiguration, alchemy, care of magical creatures." She thought for a moment. "I think that's it." She shrugged. "I'd better be fine with all I've been doing for the tournament. I've learned so many charms and things for defense. This last one I had to study all about my magical creature. So I'm going to hope that all my studying works for N.E.W.T.s too." Anna smiled as she heard about Liona's plans for once she graduated and made her way into the Department of Mysteries. The girl definitely had high aspirations, but that wasn't a bad thing. In fact, it was almost expected on Anna's part. She never saw Liona as one to just sit around and wander through life. "I think you'll be able to do just that," she reaffirmed. Liona was clever and determined. She would be able to do whatever she set her mind to, Anna was sure. Then, when Anna promised that she wouldn't tell anyone, Liona seemed resigned. She sighed, saying that she may have feelings for a Hufflepuff. Jamie. At least, that's what Anna assumed since the whole conversation started with Jamie. "... how did you start developing those feelings?" she said slowly, not wanting to pry, but also feeling like Liona wanted to talk about this for some reason.

Liona nodded and listened as Molly listed off the exams she would be sitting for. They were the typical classes that most people sat for, minus alchemy, but she'd said something interesting in regards to them. Many of them were classes the auror program requested their applicants have N.E.W.Ts in, but did that mean she was going to pursue being an auror? "You've decided on being an auror? When did this happen? Is it the fast pace and the thought of adventure that is drawing you towards it?" She said, giggling with her friend. An auror was a noble title to hold but she had never gotten the urge to be one, like so many others. Maybe it was a Gryffindor thing because she'd mostly only heard of their lot wanting to be one. It was dangerous and, she assumed, stressful. Why would she put herself through that? She'd rather serve the wizarding world in another way, like the one she'd chosen for herself. She found herself snickering when Molly proclaimed that all the studying she had been doing had better be good enough. She couldn't deny that the red head had been studying a lot anyway and, as she'd thought, she'd had to learn many more charms and spells just because she was participating in the tournament. It was a bit of a toss up considering the exams were based off of the things they'd learned throughout their schooling but maybe everything she'd done would be enough. It wasn't as if she wasn't participating in classes. "Of course I will. I'm brilliant and they'll see it for themselves how my leadership will be beneficial to the Department. It makes me immensely more excited for graduation. And a bit impatient if I'm being honest," Liona said with a smirk, talking about her Ministry plans. It was then that Molly asked about her feelings for Jamie, specifically how they had come about. She'd already told her the most important part. Why not put the entire nail in the coffin? She really didn't want to and just hearing the hesitance in her voice made her not want to talk about in any longer, but she continued anyway, just to see what she would say. "Did you know that she writes letters anonymously to people? She'd said it once before in a letter that she'd done it before," she began as she pondered the Hufflepuff's words from one of their first few letters, "We've been writing for almost a month now. It just... happened. One day I'm sitting at the Slytherin table and this owl drops this letter in front of me. Now, we're here."

Anna grimaced at Liona's next question. Of course, her friend couldn't know how confused Anna was when it came to what she wanted to do after school got out, so she had at least a little explaining to do. "I did, but I don't really anymore," she answered. "So I'm taking all the classes required for an auror, but I basically changed my mind back in November." Not completely. There was still a chance that Anna would want to be an auror, but not a big one. She'd mostly moved on from that idea by now. "It just sounded interesting. I don't know why I wanted it. Maybe it was the adventure and the fast pace, but all that doesn't really appeal to me anymore." because of the tournament. Anna was experiencing quite enough fast pace and adventure. She didn't think she wanted to do that for the rest of her life. She smiled when Liona spoke of herself once more and of the success she was sure to have in the ministry. Anna didn't doubt it for a second. She smiled. "I'm excited to graduate too, even though I don't know what I want to do anymore. I can only imagine how you feel, having all your plans and such." Then Liona started talking about letters that Jamie sent to people and Anna's eyebrows furrowed. "No, I didn't know that she does that." She listened to the rest of Liona's explanation with interest. "So ... the two of you started writing and now you have feelings for her," the phrase could be considered a question, but Anna said it more as a statement. "Have you learned a lot about her?" To Anna, Jamie seemed very open and very closed at the same time. Like, she wanted to talk and get to know you, but only to a point. Maybe if Liona could get through that wall the pair could grow close, especially if Liona already had feelings for the hufflepuff.

Even though Molly was saying that she didn't have interest in being an auror really longer, she couldn't find herself to be too worried for her friend. All of the classes she was sitting exams for weren't just classes that only went towards the Auror program. With high enough NEWTs she could be magizoologist, a member of the experimental spells committee, she could even come back and teach at Hogwarts at some point if she wanted. That idea wasn't ideal to Liona but it was definitely an option if she needed time to figure out what she wanted to do. Teaching was probably the last thing Liona wanted to do with her time. She didn't think she had the patience for it, listening to children get things wrong was already a constant in her life. She didn't want it to become her job to correct people. "Is it because of the tournament you're no longer interested?" she commented, "Those are pretty universal classes so I'm sure you'll find something you like with those. For now you can just focus on getting through the tournament and getting through the exams." She then found herself smiling a bit at her words regarding being excited to graduate. She was excited to graduate because of her job but also because of the freedom that being an official adult will bring. "Even if I didn't have everything planned out, I'm just excited about being able to be on my own. I won't have to worry about getting in trouble for something as simple as going out into the hallway at night," she found herself snorting at the the thought. It felt a little silly, getting in trouble for such a small reason. She had never been caught herself but she had always been a bit miffed by the enforced curfew. "I've learned a lot about her," she began as she talked about Jamie, "Of course I didn't know her at all before so 'a lot' can be relative. Her favorite color is red. She probably picked that up from hanging around your lot since she has a lot of Gryffindor friends," the last bit she said with amusement. "It's all a bit complicated though. I don't know how she's going to react when she finds out it's me she's been owling." That wasn't fully honest. She figured that once the Hufflepuff knew it was her, everything would end rather abruptly. And possibly with a few harsh words exchanged.
