Jamie's enthusiasm was contagious. Brandon loved it! He hasn't really ever tried to teach other people how to play instruments. But if all students were as excited about music as Jamie was, it would be easy. She seemed excited about the idea of learning how to read music, but she didn't say anything about it so Brandon let it go. Besides, that wasn't a first-lesson thing anyway. He'd work on that with her later. She said she wanted to go through the song one more time and Brandon grinned, lifting his violin up once more. This time went a little more smoothly, though it still took them a while to make it through the whole thing. Once they were done, he lowered the instrument and smiled at the Hufflepuff in front of him. "You're doing great Jamie. Most people don't pick it up this fast. Maybe practice on the chords and such until we get together again? Next time we can focus on reading music if you want." Really, he would teach her whatever she preferred. He was just glad that she was getting into music. He could tell.

Jamie was glad that she had asked Brandon to play the song with her again. Her fingers were much surer on the strings, and she felt like she was beginning to remember where her fingers had to go before Brandon showed her. When she was done with the song, she copied Brandon in lowering her violin. “Thanks for teaching the time to teach me, Brandon.” Jamie said with a smile. She didn’t know if she would have even considered playing an instrument if Brandon hadn’t been such a ready teacher, and she probably wouldn’t have had nearly as much fun with the lesson itself. “I’ll do that.” Jamie said with a firm nod, already trying to figure out where she could squeeze some practice time in between her classes. “We can talk about or next lesson some other time?” She suggested. It didn’t need to be immediate – Jamie still had plenty to chew on for this one. The Hufflepuff gathered her things and then smiled at her friend. “I’ll see you around.” She said, before waving and leaving the room, ready to return to the tedium of regular coursework.
