At his question Anna paused, looking at him curiously. "I don't know." He continued to say she was the only good thing and she smiled. "Then I won't worry about it ending. I love you." Really, she'd meant the whole thing as a joke, but she wanted to make sure that Oscar didn't think she was waiting for him to end it all. She wasn't. Honestly she didn't think that would happen. The pair was extremely close with one another and Anna couldn't think of anything that would mess that up. If anything were to happen, she for one would fight against it and she was positive that Oscar would too. She knew he cared for her that much. It was kind of a relief when a house elf came to the table with a huge chocolate cake. Anna smiled, looking to Oscar with an expression that said "do we really have to eat all this?" He asked if she wanted to cut it and Anna nodded, "Sure." She cut two slices out of the cake, giving one to herself and one to Oscar. "How does that look?" Anna asked before the elf left. If he wanted more she was more than willing to give it. While she waited to his answer, she licked a little frosting off of her finger and her eyes widened. This was good.

Oscar offered Anna a smile when she said that she wouldn’t worry about their relationship ending. “I love you, too.” It was that simple. Or, it would be in a perfect world. Oscar knew that the world they lived in was far from perfect, but he also knew that it was up to people like them to make others believe that love was real and that good things could happen. It seemed like quite a heavy burden, when he thought of it that way, and Oscar was even more glad for the chocolate cake to serve as a distraction. Anna’s expression upon looking at it was priceless – a mixture of shock and… something else, as if she was questioning his sanity for choosing the dessert and expecting them to eat it all. Maybe they wouldn’t split the cake perfectly in half, but Oscar was sure they’d find a way for it all to get eaten. And even if it wasn’t eaten by the two of them, someone else would have it as a snack in the coming days – or maybe even that night. “I think that you need to learn proper portion sizes.” He told her with a wink. “That is fine, Anna.” He amended soon after so that she wouldn’t glare at him. “I can always cut more if I need it.” Her sensibility was starting to rub off on him.

Anna shot Oscar a fake glare when he told her she needed to work on her portion sizes. She was sure he was kidding- a fact that he confirmed merely moments later- but she already had a quip on her tongue about how the French liked small portions anyway. Somehow, she held that back. She didn't need to start a war, even a teasing war, tonight. Anna just wanted to be able to enjoy her time spent with Oscar, like she normally did. She laughed when he said he could cut more. "Well here then," she commented, placing the cutting knife in between them on the table so that if he wanted, he could use it to cut the cake more. He probably wouldn't right away, but this way it would be there if he wanted it. Once the slices were dished, Anna took a bite, looking up at Oscar. It tasted amazing! She swallowed and shook her head in disbelief. "This is fantastic! Have you ever had a cake this good before?" Anna couldn't help but ask. Was it a french cake or just a normal one? Anna didn't know and didn't really want to ask the house elves. She just wanted to enjoy herself.

Anna placed the knife on the table so that he could cut more cake if he wanted to, and Oscar chuckled. “I will finish what I have first.” He said with a smile, picking up his fork so that he could dig into the cake he had already been served by his girlfriend. Anna managed to get her bite of cake into her mouth before Oscar did, and he held up a finger after she asked her question about the cake so that he could consider the bite of food in his mouth, pretending to be pensive even though he already had an answer for her question ready. Oscar finished chewing, swallowed, and the dabbed his mouth on his napkin before he looked at Anna, finally ready to answer her question. “No.” Oscar said with a small smile that indicated that something sappy was about to come out of his mouth. “Because I have never had a cake before with you.” It was strange, how many things he had done with Anna, but also how many things remained to be done. Oscar never wanted to stop having new firsts with his girlfriend, even if they were things as small as eating cake together.

Anna shrugged when Oscar said that he would finish his first, though she also couldn't hold back a small smirk. She desperately wanted him to get full so she could tease him about thinking he could eat more cake than he actually could. She loved teasing him, always. Mostly because he teased her back almost as often as she teased him. It was fun. She loved this cake! However, when she asked him what he thought about it, he took his own sweet time chewing and swallowing it before he answered. Anna couldn't help but grin at his sappy answer; she loved it. "Well, remember this cake, because now I'm going to ask you the same question the next time we have cake, so I expect an accurate response," she winked at him, a sign that she was teasing, sort of. It didn't take long before Anna was done with her slice. It was so good. She gave her boyfriend a look before cutting a little more off the cake and giving it to herself. "Feel free to take more too," she offered, wondering if he was too full or not. Surprisingly, she wasn't.

Anna said that he had to remember the cake, and Oscar pulled a face at her. “Of course I am going to remember it.” He said slowly, as if she was a bit thick. “It is my first cake with you.” And Oscar was in the habit of remembering everything he could about his relationship with Anna, hence why he was somewhat obsessed with making more memories of them together. “But you can consider this cake remembered.” He promised, so Anna wouldn’t argue with him or tease him. Sometimes it was just easier to acquiesce with what she wanted, especially when it was something silly like whether or not he would remember a slice of cake. Anna said that he could feel free to eat more of the cake after cutting a slice for herself, and Oscar arched an eyebrow, giving Anna a mischievous grin that was becoming a bit of a trademark. “What if I want to watch you eat an entire cake yourself?” He asked her. Anna could say she was only going to have one more slice, but enough ‘one more slices’ could turn into eating a whole cake, and Oscar was curious to see if she could do it.

He seemed slightly annoyed that she was teasing him about remembering the cake. Well ... either that or he was teasing her back. Anna didn't really care which it was. She still just felt so happy that she could spend this time with him, that he planned something for them to do together tonight. She smiled when he said, in no uncertain terms, that he would remember the cake. There wasn't really anything else Anna felt like she could say to that, so she didn't. He started grinning at her and Anna's own smile widened in anticipation. She loved that smile, his sly one. She laughed at his question. "Well I'm not going to eat the cake all on my own no matter what, so if you want some, feel free to it." At least, she didn't think she could eat the whole thing. Well, technically she could. She just wasn't sure if she wanted the stomachache that would almost certainly come along with that. "Have some more ... so I don't feel self-conscious," she added the last part as an afterthought. She wouldn't feel self-conscious around him, but she might as well try to get him to have more, since he obviously liked it.

Oscar smiled at Anna when she said that she wasn’t going to eat the cake on her own no matter what happened. He wasn’t sure that was the truth, but he would humor her by pretending it was. Anna said that if he wanted some of the cake, he should feel free to take it, and he smirked at her. “Again, I do not want to take it.” Honestly, Oscar wasn’t even that hungry, so even if he wasn’t pulling on Anna’s leg by teasing her about eating the entire cake, he would need to contemplate a long time before deciding to eat more. When Anna mentioned feeling self-conscious, though, Oscar’s eyes narrowed. He couldn’t tell whether it was a clever ploy to get him to eat some cake or if it was the truth, but he didn’t want to take the gamble of making Anna uncomfortable accidentally by teasing her while watching her eat. Oscar cut himself a slice of cake, focusing on that for a moment before looking back up at Anna. He chuckled a little. “You have some icing on your face, mamour.” He said, reaching up with his napkin to wipe away the chocolate frosting. He didn’t do a good job, smearing it instead. “Come here so I can kiss it better.” Oscar said, leaning in so that he could kiss the frosting off of Anna’s face.

He insisted that he didn't want more cake, but when she said that she felt self-conscious Oscar hesitated. Anna kept a straight face, curious to see what he would do, but then he took some more cake and a small smile covered her face. She knew Oscar cared about her, but little things like this confirmed that, which was something she loved. "Thank you," she said, trying to make sure he knew she was grateful for his "sacrifice" of eating more cake for her. After he dished himself some cake, he said she had icing on her face and reached over to wipe it off. Anna laughed and rolled her eyes at herself, "Of course I do." She wasn't really surprised about the frosting, but wishing she could eat cake without making a mess. She grinned when Oscar told her to come closer so he could kiss it. Instantly she leaned forward so he'd be able to reach her and then tried to hold still to not complicate things more somehow.

Luckily for Anna, it was not easy to complicate a kiss, and Oscar pressed his lips right on to the frosting – which only succeeded in smearing it around, he realized when he pulled away. Oscar laughed, and it sounded slightly strange to his own ears – not because he was not used to laughter (especially after spending so much time with Anna), but because it sounded so bright, if a laugh could sound that way. Oscar chose not to dwell on what might have made his laugh sound even happier, and instead gave his girlfriend a sheepish grin. “I may have made it worse.” He admitted to her, offering up a napkin. “It is this or my tongue.” He explained. Somehow, Oscar didn’t think that licking icing off his girlfriend’s cheek like an overenthusiastic puppy would make for a romantic gesture.

Oscar laughed when he pulled away and Anna made a face at him. She was pretty sure that his plan to get the frosting off her face failed. Really, that was the only thing that explained the laughter. She rolled her eyes when he admitted that he made the whole thing worse. "No kidding," she teased, reaching for the napkin. "How about I use this and then you can give me a real kiss?" Anna couldn't help herself, but it wasn't like this was out of character. She wiped off the corner of her mouth and her cheek, just trying to make sure she got it all. "Did I get it?" she asked with a laugh.

Oscar made another face at Anna when she said ‘no kidding’ to his comment about making more of a mess of her face. Considering she couldn’t see her own face, Ozzy didn’t know why she was able to answer his comment so accurately, but if there was one thing Ozzy had learned, it was that Anna worked in mysterious ways. Anna took the napkin he had held up, saying that she could use it and he could give her a real kiss, and Oscar tapped his chin in fake thought. “I suppose we can do that.” He finally acquiesced. Anna wiped at the corner of her mouth, managing to get all of the icing off in one swipe, and Oscar once again marveled at her accuracy. “You did.” He answered. “Here is your prize.” Oscar said with a small smile, leaning forward to peck Anna on the lips.

Anna rolled her eyes when Oscar pretended to think about her suggestion. It was fascinating how the more time she spent with him, the more often a teasing part of him came out. He often pretended to be serious when around other people, but with her ... they could be downright ridiculous when they were both in the mood. She liked how he didn't try to hide that from her. He gave her a kiss and she grinned at him once he pulled away. "I think I'm done with the cake, if you are," she said. "What do you think about taking a walk until it's time to turn in for the night." Of course, there was homework she could do but Anna wasn't going to worry about that tonight. All she wanted to do was spend time with her boyfriend. She rose to her feet expectantly, holding out a hand for him to take.
