Dustin once again took the opportunity to glare at Yadiel when his captain said that he was going to have to talk to Evelyn eventually. Dustin knew that, but he also knew that conversations where both parties were angry were called arguments, and they weren’t helpful. “I know what I have to do eventually.” Dustin said, the words rumbling and rubbing against his throat like gravel. “But eventually isn’t now.” He wasn’t going to say anything more on the matter, because even with the excuse of being emotionally traumatized by everything that had happened, Dustin knew that Yadiel wasn’t going to accept much more disrespect from him, and the younger man would appreciate being able to keep his job. Saying that he wasn’t stupid in a sarcastic voice was not conducive to that goal, so Dustin just bit his lip, massaging it between his teeth for a while when Yadiel asked what would make Dustin feel better. The Gryffindor let out another large sigh. “If I knew, do you think I would be here, continuing to make myself miserable?” Dustin asked. His voice was about the sharpness of a dull knife; enough to cut, but not deep at all. It didn’t do much in his quest to keep Yadiel from kicking him off the team, but Dustin wasn’t sure if his captain understood that he really wasn’t trying to be unhappy. There were just a lot of things to be unhappy about, and Dustin wasn’t at the point where he could ignore them anymore… And the person who normally helped him through this sort of thing was the problem this time around.

"Watch it kid. I'm not the one you're mad at here," Yadiel commented, his nostrils flaring in annoyance. And this wasn't amusement veiled by annoyance. Dustin was just being rude now and Yadiel didn't appreciate the tone the boy was using. If he hadn't wanted Yadi's advice, he shouldn't have come to him in the first place or he should have just told him before the entire conversation started. Dustin was the one that wanted this meeting, not him. Yadi had to remind himself that Dustin was young and prone to moodiness when they didn't like the situation they were in. He took a deep breath, huffing out the air as he stared at Dustin. Eventually may not be now, as he'd pointed out, but his eventually might come too late. His rudeness continued when he snapped at Yadiel, say that he pretty much didn't know what would make him feel better and pretty much that he didn't care to think about it then. Yadi stared at him for a long time, his face empty before he stood up, grabbing his teacup and pushing his chair in. "Yeah, you continue to stew in that kid. I'm going to head out before you say something you end up regretting," the bite was barely contained in Yadi's voice as he spoke to him. He wasn't going to sit there and take that. Especially when he was only attempting to help. He had things he could be doing, plays to be planning and clearly the boy had it all figured out. He sniffed dismissively before he took his teacup up to the counter, thanking the cashier and walking out of the teashop.

Dustin knew that Yadiel wasn’t the one that he was mad at. Hell, Evelyn wasn’t even the one that he was really mad at, not that he was going to say it. He was mad at the person who had lied to him, who couldn’t be the same person as his best friend, as far as Dustin was concerned. The Gryffindor couldn’t say that he was surprised when his captain stood up and went to leave. He had probably pushed it a little too far with that last comment, and now he was having to pay for it. Dustin hated the stereotype that Quidditch players got whatever they want without any consequences, because it seemed like nowadays he was getting nothing of what he wanted with a whole ton of unexpected consequences. Yadiel told him to continue to stew, and Dustin just sighed. Yeah. Stew. Wasn’t like he was going to be able to do anything else now that his sounding board had up and left. Now that he was alone, Dustin buried his head in his arms again. Now he could count another conversation as gone wrong, and another relationship as screwed up. Dustin didn’t know when, or how, but he suddenly realized that he was sobbing. Everything was going wrong, and he couldn’t hold it in any longer. Sitting in the middle of a Muggle tea shop, Dustin let out everything. He was sure that the other patrons thought he was having a mental breakdown (and he kind of was), but he didn’t care. He wanted a do over, but that couldn’t happen. So he just cried.
