Hugo could tell that Xan was worried about what was coming, but he was relieved that she was smiling at him again. What he really wanted was for her to calm down and be ready for whatever happened. If she was too stressed out about things she wouldn't be able to look at the positive. Then again, it was Xan. She was one of the most cheerful people he knew. When she said she thought this situation would work out, Hugo grinned back at her, nodding to confirm what she just said. "Good. Now are you ready to go in?" They'd arrived at the entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room and Hugo looked over at his girlfriend. "You can do this," he said encouragingly.

The entrance to the Ravenclaw common room appeared simultaneously too fast and not fast enough. A part of Xan wanted to cling to Hugo, or insist that she didn’t feel well so that she could go back to the hospital wing, but that would just be delaying the inevitable. “I’m as ready as I’ll ever be.” Xan said with a nervous laugh. She wasn’t sure she would ever be completely ready to dive back in to the life she had left behind all those months ago, but she was certainly going to try. Like she said, she was as prepared as she was going to get. “I can do this.” Xan repeated with a firm nod. She swore that the eagle knocker smiled at her as it asked the riddle, and she answered. The door swung open, and Xan took a deep breath.
She was home.
