She nodded once again when he explained what he was going to play for her. By something classic, did he mean he was going to play a classical song? She was suddenly really curious and she turned her eyes on him just before he started strumming on his guitar. The tune was slow and gentle and Liona closed her eyes to soak it in. She recognized it, only because her father had played it once or twice around the house when she was younger. She couldn't quite recall the name of the muggle artist which meant she didn't particularly care for that artist. Her father played certain records enough though that she could recognize them forwards and backwards. This wasn't one of them. The tune continued a bit before it shifted into something she didn't recognize. It was a whirlwind and it made her heart race. She was submerged in what he was playing once again so she knew that this was something he'd just come up with. It wasn't what she was expected but it was beautiful all the same and she began to feel a bit more relaxed at the same time. It felt like it was much too soon when the music began to fade out and the silence took over them once again. Her eyes were still closed and she inhaled deeply in an attempt to calm her heart. It felt like a struggled to pull her eyes open when she did and she realized her was looking at her. "Whoa." it was all she had. She was amazed. He played really well. And emotion came across well in his music.

Brandon watched Liona for a while after he finished playing his new song. Her eyes were closed and she seemed very peaceful. It was a nice look on her and he was very proud that he'd been able to help a little with that. Brandon liked affecting people for the better. Then she opened her eyes, looked at him and muttered "Whoa." Brandon couldn't help but grin at her. "So i take it that one was alright then?" He was pretty sure she liked it but figured that asking was better than assuming. "How much more work do you have to do?" Brandon asked curiously. He didn't want to distract Liona entirely, but he appreciated her listening to his music. Having someone to play for was always a nice treat, especially when it was unexpected like it was now.

Liona snorted at Brandon's words. He'd chosen the word 'alright' to describe his music and she found herself in disbelief. He wasn't really good at bragging when he had every right to. "'Alright' is not the word I would use for it. Much better than alright."Jamie hadn't quite done his talent justice in their letters but she couldn't blame the blonde. It was hard to prove it without being able to hear it. Liona had been skeptical at first when she had talked about the Durmstrang student but now that Liona had been able to hear his talent for herself, she was impressed. He heart was still racing a bit when he asked her how much work she had to do. It took her a moment too long to figure out that he was talking about her charting. A look to the sky and she noticed that the first sign of stars had appeared, the sky darkening a bit more in the time it'd taken for him to finish his piece. "It is as I said, this was for pleasure so it wasn't something necessary for me to do." She'd only come out to chart to try and relax but it seemed his music was accomplishing just that while simultaneously flustering her.

Liona snagged Brandon's attention more thoroughly when she snorted and he watched her, wondering what caused her to react that way. It only took a few seconds for it to make sense. He laughed at her argument. "Thanks. I guess I just don't really feel too comfort talking about how I play. I don't want people to think I'm trying to brag or that I think I'm all that our anything. I'm glad you like it." he watched her again, curious to see if she'd be annoyed again by that explanation. He shrugged when she mentioned-once more- that she was here for pleasure. "Even so, I didn't want to bother you during your leisure time. I know how important time to oneself can be," he tried to explain. Brandon hoped he was making more sense now than he apparently made at other times. He just wanted to make sure that Liona was enjoying herself, whether because of her activity or because of his music. LIONA ISABELLE ZABINI

Liona's eyebrow raised as the musician talked about himself, how he wasn't comfortable talking about his playing abilities because he didn't want others to think he was bragging. Liona would bet her fund on the fact that Brandon had been a Hufflepuff when he'd attended the school. Had Jamie told her that in their letters? She couldn't remember but it was apparent in his words. More Hufflepuff students than none shared that trait, kindness of some sort. "There is nothing wrong with bragging when you have a reason to. Talent like that is meant to be reveled in and envied," she commented with a touch of amusement lacing her voice. She found herself a bit envious of his talent herself. But the fact that she was able to enjoy it now, without having to pay for it and barely having to ask for it, was nice. She had to stop herself from being completely honest with him when he commented on how important time to yourself was. Just time itself was important to her, whether she was spending it alone or in the company of others. If she didn't want to be there, she would have left long ago. She would have had no problem in doing so. "You aren't bothering me at all. Play something else to distract me further," she commented easily. Her eyes were trained on the sky once again and she watched the stars beaming, each at a different brightness while some were still barely just visible in the disappearing sunlight.

She clearly thought that it was silly that he didn't want to brag about his abilities and Brandon couldn't help but wonder why. Was that just the way she was raised or was it hey personality? He smiled when she explained what she thought. "I don't mind sharing it and someday if I get famous I probably won't be so quiet about it all but I don't want to act like some big shot and then not be able to do anything with it. I'm just enjoying it and trying to get better," he told her, fully expecting her to roll her eyes at him again. He was surprised when she didn't say anything for a while, but then she told him that he wasn't bothering her and he started to play something of the top of his head. It seemed like she liked those ones the most anyway. So he just let his fingers move and played whatever came to him. Sometimes it was renditions of other songs, sometimes it was one he created in the moment, but he did make it so they all flowed together, not breaking in between songs. Eventually he just drifted into silence and looked up at the stars. Then he smiled and looked at Liona. "Well that one was good, huh?" he liked it and didn't need get to say she liked it to know it was good, but he was curious about what she'd say.

She couldn't do anything but give a slow nod of understanding as Brandon explained his take on talking about his talent. There wasn't much point in her attempting to get him to see her side of things and she knew it was pointless to try and discuss the topic further. She thought one way and he thought another, which was fine. She knew that if she had his talent, she would brag about it to others. In an offhanded way, of course. She would take joy in the compliments and praise while still being able to fully enjoy the envious glares. The small look of confusion he'd given as she'd spoken had been amusing enough though. She could have told him she was a Slytherin and she was certain that's be explanation enough for him but she didn't know if he'd take that positively or negative. He had gone to the school before so she didn't know how he'd felt about the members of her house when he had attended the school. Then he began to play. Liona relaxed once again into the notes he strummed. The music felt lighter than what he'd played before, like it was floating on a breeze. She felt herself smile and once again didn't realize her eyes had shut until after the last notes faded out. His comment made her laugh. "That sounded awfully close to bragging," she teased easily, her smile still evident from the music he'd played. "But yes that was nice."

This whole situation was different than Brandon expected. He didn't come up to the tower to find someone and end up showing off his musical skills to them. He didn't mean to have a conversation about how he should be proud of his music either, but he was glad that it all happened. He was glad that Liona liked his music and that she thought he was good enough that he could brag about it. When he looked back to her after his latest assortment of songs, she was smiling and had her eyes closed, and he found himself proud of that fact. He shrugged when she teased about him bragging. "Well I figured I might try bragging with you, since I know you won't take offense to it or start calling me conceited," he teased back. Then he looked at his watch. "I have to go, but I want to do one more. You have any requests?" he asked curiously. Since she seemed to appreciate his music, he was happy to do anything she wanted.

Liona giggled once again as he commented on trying out bragging with her because she wouldn't judge him for it. "You won't find any offense here but maybe just a touch of that envy I told you about. You play really beautiful music," she replied, deciding that her honesty here wouldn't be too bad. Normally she wasn't too keen on giving up bits of herself, being overly honest an telling others how she really felt about then but she felt as if her words would give him a more positive outlook of her. She didn't like sharing too much of herself. That is, until she'd received Jamie's anonymous letter. Thoughts of Jamie pervaded her mind and she tried her hardest to shake them off, live in the moment. Brandon then asked her if he wanted him to play anything else, as he had to go soon. She gave it a bit of thought at first. Once again she wanted to ask him to play a song that reminded him of Jamie but she didn't want to torture herself like that with fresh thoughts of the Puff still moving around her head. "How about something that is an expression of you? Show me something of yourself?" She was curious of what she would get. He was a musician yes and he got emotion across well in the songs he'd played so instead of imagining what he would sound like expressing himself, she wanted to ask. "If that doesn't work for you, play something you feel like playing."

She laughed when he said he was bragging just because he was with her and Brandon was proud of himself. He got the feeling that Liona wasn't one to laugh a lot so he was proud of himself for helping her do so. He nodded at her compliment. "Thank you," he said simply, deciding that his other comment was enough bragging for one night. If he was going to work on "taking more pride" in his work, he would have to start doing it little by little so he wouldn't go overboard or something. Liona asked for an expression of himself and Brandon smiled. This one was easy. He started to play a compilation of his songs that he'd created. They all flowed into one another nicely and smoothly, but he felt like they did a good job explaining him and his emotions, though he couldn't put words to them. These songs were part of the compilation because they didn't have words. Once he was done, he smiled at Liona and then bowed. "I'm sorry my lady, but that is all the entertainment I can provide you with tonight," he said, keeping his face serious for maybe three seconds after he said it before he started to chuckle. He checked his watch again. "I really do have to go, but I'll see you later." Hopefully. She seemed nice, so he'd definitely be happy to run into her again. He turned and started walking away, going back to the ship for the night

He once again accepted her compliment, this time with a simple thank and no hint of the shyness he'd shown earlier. Much better. He then smiled at her request for him to play something self-expressive and it wasn't long before his music filled the silence. Just like that, her eyes were shutting once again and she was swept up into the notes he played. If she really broke it down chord by chord, they were simple but coming together they created something beautiful and breathtaking. It felt like too soon when the song faded out, but she didn't open her eyes. His voice rang out, him saying that it was all of the entertainment he could provide. She chuckled, her eyes opening just as he himself laughed. He'd done plenty, honestly. "If you must. Thank you for sharing your music with me," she replied with a nod. He walked away and she grabbed a piece of parchment to begin her charting, the sound of his music ringing in her ears. He was nice enough. She wouldn't mind seeing him again, if only to hear him play.
