She couldn't continue on like this. She just couldn't. Evelyn was tired of being alone in her house, thinking about Dustin and Rocco and trying to figure out how something that was so perfect when so wrong in such a short amount of time. Only two weeks ago she'd been deliriously happy. She had a best friend who cared and trusted her and a fiance that she loved more than anything. Now both relationships were messed up, if not ruined entirely. The one similar factor was her. She'd been thinking for the last week, evaluating all her decisions and choices and actions and trying to find a way to feel better inside.
Evelyn Estrada was done with that type of a life. She couldn't stay in her apartment all day, crying and wishing she could have done things right. She messed up. It was over with and now she had to move on, had to start living her life again. Sometime this week she was going to start joining in her team practices (even though her captain said she could have this week off). So she had to get back into the real world again.
It was for that reason that Evelyn was walking down the road in Diagon Alley. She didn't really have anywhere to go or anyone specific that she wanted to see, but she needed to prove to herself that she could be in public without a meltdown. She needed to find something else to occupy her thoughts and distract her from the pain. There were lots of people here, but Ev didn't know any of them. After a while she sat on a bench and looked at the people passing by. She didn't even notice when someone approached her.

@evelyn ice cream. it was a brilliant day for ice cream. tadgh had decided to spend his day off roaming the streets and stores of diagon alley. it was always a great place to explore, something new every time he went and the people he often met made the trip worthwhile too. there was something to be said about running into old friends and people he hadn't seen since his school years, after all memory lane was a great place to visit. though he hadn't expected to see someone he knew so early on in his trip. while walking toward the ice cream shop, he'd spotted someone he hadn't seen since he'd left his quidditch team to become an auror. he ran his hand through his hair as he walked toward her, smiling a little as he took up the space on the bench next to her. "evelyn?" he greeted. he wasn't sure if she'd remember who he was, they hadn't played on the same team but they'd played against each other a fair few times and he'd always thought she was nice.

Ev was proud of herself for keeping her composure so long while sitting on the bench. She wondered if maybe she should stay here for a while and see how long she could last before losing it. The idea intrigued her, though she was curious at the same time. The ravenclaw in her came out, analyzing her behavior. She jumped when someone said her name as they sat down beside her. She turned to face the man, looking over him carefully. He looked familiar, but she wasn't exactly sure why. Where did she know him from? He knew her name, but maybe he was a fan or something? Not that she had many fans. Hmm. Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked at him. "I'm sorry ... who are you?" she asked slowly. She didn't want to offend him, but she couldn't remember. She bit her lip as she waited for a response.

@evelyn "I'm sorry ... who are you?" he chuckled softly, not offended at all that she didn't remember him. he'd been out of the game for a few years and it had been a while since he'd seen any of the players on his team, since wes had moved away anyway. they'd caught up a few times after he'd left the team. "tadgh kavanaugh. i played for the wimbourne wasps until about three years ago." he wasn't sure how long she'd been playing before he'd left. there might have only been a few months they'd shared the field and he could honestly say he didn't really remember much about the people he'd played against in his first few months of playing. he'd been too busy being nervous about messing things up and loosing his place on the team. though his memory had been refreshed in the last few weeks of her, seeing the news stories about her accident and the subsequent consequences of that fall. though he'd read more of that story from rocco's side, since he knew wes and rocco was his younger brother. not that he planned on bringing that up, he didn't think she'd want to have her accident brought up by a stranger.

He laughed a little and Dom didn't know why. Why was he laughing at something that wasn't funny? Her not knowing him was amusing? Oh well, it was silly for her to get offended over that. Ev was just touchy lately. Ever since Dustin ... no. She shouldn't think about that now. He named himself, explaining that he used to be a Quidditch player. Ev nodded, smiling nervously. "Sorry, I guess I forgot," she answered, feeling a little guilty. He didn't know her, so he wouldn't know that her not paying attention to other quidditch players was typical of her. "Uhh ... what have you been doing since you stopped playing Quidditch?" she asked, really not knowing what else to say. She didn't know him at all, so she reverted back to her normal state of awkward. Her bad.
