Something changed. Edmund wasn't sure exactly what it was, but for the first time in what felt like ages, he was happy. Really, truly happy, even though he didn't have a reason. Nothing amazing happened, he wasn't on particularly good terms with anyone, and he was still fighting with Addilyn, but he was happy. It was Saturday and he woke up this way, cheerful. So he went down to breakfast and headed straight outside. Ed didn't really want to give anyone the chance to ruin his good mood, and he figured that people outside would also be the people in good moods. Hopefully. If not, he'd just stay away from them.
He wandered around on his own for a while and then saw a familiar figure in front of him. His eyes narrowed and he started to move a little more quickly. "Hey, wait up," he called, still not sure who it was. Now he was committed though. Hopefully it would be someone he could have a nice talk with or find something fun to do. It depended on how his luck was today, apparently.

Zita was out for a stroll, wanting to get out of the common room for just a bit because it was a nice Saturday out. It wasn't warm yet but it wasn't cold either so she could enjoy the weather a bit better than normal while being outside. She couldn't quite decide if she wanted to go into Hogsmeade today; she didn't necessarily have a reason to go nor did she have anything she needed to shop for but she could always find something to do in Hogsmeade. It had been a rather interesting couple of days considering she'd had quite a bit to do. There weren't any quidditch games coming up but the Hufflepuff team had been practicing hard to keep their skills up. She had even stayed a bit longer to practice harder after their last practice. And then she'd run into Theodosia. She shook her head, not wanting to think about the Slytherin. Bad idea. All around bad idea. As she strolled, she heard someone calling for her to wait up. With a quick look behind her, she saw Edmund Windsor walking briskly to catch up with her. She gave an amused looked when he finally caught up to her. "Hey Edmund. What's up?" she smiled. Edmund was in her year and a chaser for the Slytherin quidditch team. He'd always been friendly enough in any interactions they'd had off of the quidditch pitch so she'd always liked him enough.

He approached the girl, smiling when he recognized Zita. The two of them weren't really friends or anything, but he'd never had a negative interaction with her either. "Hey Zita," he responded, still smiling. Why was he in such a good mood today? He smiled, glad that he was. It was easier to make friends when he was being positive than it was when he was being negative. "Nothing much. I'm just ... kind of bored. Do you want to do something? Or ... are you busy?" he backtracked, not wanting to make her feel obligated or bad for not doing as he asked. "Sorry, I know this is all a bit last-minute," Ed added. Was she going to think he was insane or something? Oh well, he'd already done it so there wasn't really anything else he could do. Now it all just depended on her. If she didn't want to do something, Ed would just have to find someone else or start things on his own.

She grinned and chuckled just a bit when he said he was kind of bored. It was such a nice day outside and yet she wasn't the only one out that couldn't find anything really interesting to do. Her eyebrows did raise in a bit of surprise when he asked her to hang out, mostly because she wasn't expecting it. They'd never done so before; most of their previous interactions had been casual greetings or about quidditch things. She wasn't opposed to the idea though. She was bored, he was bored. Why not? They might be in for an adventure, for all she knew. "I'm not busy at all. I was actually contemplating myself what I wanted to do today" she shrugged. "I was actually thinking about heading to Hogsmeade but I'm not sure how open you are to that idea. Or we could go fly around the quidditch pitch since no one's practicing today. The possibilities are endless," she responded with another grin. "It all depends on what you're up for." Who knew? They might be in for some kind of adventure. And even if not, maybe she could actually get to know something more about Edmund. Other than the fact that he wasn't a half-bad chaser.

She was happy, which definitely helped Ed's mood stay that way. It was so much easier to be happy around people who were of the same mindset. It was good for him that he ran into Zita instead of Theodosia or one of her friends. They would have been able to dampen his mood in an instant. She seemed surprised when he asked if she wanted to do something, but then she said she wasn't busy and Ed felt his smile widen. He shrugged when she started mentioning ideas. "I'm game with Hogsmeade. I haven't been there in a while, so it could definitely be fun." Also, whenever he did go he almost always spent all his time hanging out near the Shrieking Shack. Zita would probably want to do other things, so that could be a cool way of getting to know her. "Or we could fly if you want, but Hogsmeade sounds like more fun." Really, Ed was down for anything, he just wanted to do something fun and enjoy himself.

"Hogsmeade it is then," she smiled before she began walking towards the little village. She hadn't been to Hogsmeade in a little while herself just because she hadn't had a reason to go. She didn't like sweets enough to want to visit Honeyduke's too much and she didn't play any instruments well enough to want to pursue music so she didn't need to go to Dominic Maestro's. She hadn't been to C'est La Vie since it opened up but she didn't think Edmund would be too interested in going there with her. Plus that just felt too terribly intimate for her liking; she knew if she went she'd want to try on clothes that she liked and she didn't feel comfortable having him wait for her or asking for his opinion on how something looked on her. "Anywhere in particular you wanted to go? We can go to the Three Broomsticks, of course but if there's something that catches your eye we can do that too," she chatted lightly as she continued to walk. She wouldn't mind sitting down and talking. They could talk about quiddtitch things or anything really.

Edmund smiled back as he walked alongside Zita on their way to Hogsmeade. He didn't often go there with others- at least, not now that he wasn't dating or really friends with Addi- but he was glad to be going with someone. He wondered where she would want to go once they reached the village. Honestly, Ed was good with anywhere, but he tended to have a preference to the Three Broomsticks and visiting the Shrieking Shack. He shrugged at her as they walked. "I like the Three Broomsticks, it's always nice. I normally try to visit the Shrieking Shack too a little, if you're interested. Are there any places you want to go?" He was perfectly content cooperating and coming up with something they could do together instead of just making her do the things he was interested in. That would be more fun for the both of them.

She smiled when he pretty much alluded tot he fact that he wanted to go to the Three Broomsticks. She couldn't say anything because she agreed, the Three Broomsticks did sound nice. She strolled on easily beside him and shrugged when he asked if there was anywhere she wanted to go. Previous thoughts about C'est La Vie came up and she decided not to bring it up still. "Just the Three Broomsticks. And I am definitely up for going to the Shrieking Shack," she grinned easily. She didn't get over to the Shrieking Shack at lot. It was just a house, a possibly haunted house, but a house all the same. She didn't have a reason to be there but if Edmund wanted to go, there must be something too it. Maybe she could have some fun there too. She was actually rather curious to see what the Slytherin boy did when he went there. They were approaching the little village now. "So which one first? I could go for a drink but if you want to go to the Shrieking Shack I don't mind. I don't go often so I want to know what we can get into there," she laughed in amusement when she turned to him. The Three Broomsticks was closer than the Shrieking Shack but it wasn't a long walk to the latter.

Zita said she wanted to go to the Three Broomsticks and that she was good with the Shrieking Shack too and Edmund couldn't help but smile in return. "Sounds great," he answered, glad that things seemed to be going well today. He really didn't need anything to happen to set him off so he was upset, after all. "I vote Three Broomsticks first," he agreed. Maybe he and Zita could get into a good conversation before going to see the shack. It was always easier to start conversations while sitting down, he thought. He laughed when she said she didn't go to the Shrieking Shack much. "Well, there's not really a lot to do there, but I like the scenery," Edmund admitted. "If you want we could try and sneak in though ..." he'd never tried that before, but it could be fun if she was interested.

Zita gave a quick nod and grinned as she moved her feet towards the doors of the Three Broomsticks. It hadn't been all that long since she had been to the pub but she always liked the warmth she felt just walking into the doors. It was inviting and luckily enough it was a kid friendly pub, being so close to Hogwarts it had to be she imagined. He continued talking about the Shrieking Shack as the closed in on the pub, saying that he liked the scenery there but there wasn't that much to do. When he mentioned sneaking in she snickered. "I would definitely not be opposed to that. Do you know what's in there at all?" she had never been inside the shack herself but she knew there were plenty of people who said the place was haunted. Hogwarts had friendly ghosts but she could only assume that the ones inhabiting the Shrieking Shack weren't nearly as nice. Hence the name, she imagined. Once she approached the doors to the pub, she pushed them open and walked in. It was warm because it was still winter but it wasn't uncomfortable so she kept her light jacket on. There were a few tables open in the back so she went over and grabbed a seat, hoping he was still behind her.

Edmund followed Zita to the Three Broomsticks, smiling when she laughed quietly at his suggestion they sneak in. In all honesty he'd been kidding, but a part of Ed always wanted to sneak into the Shrieking Shack. He wanted to know what it was like in there. He couldn't help himself. His mouth fell open a little in surprise when Zita said she wasn't opposed and asked it he knew what was in there. A sly smile slid onto his face and Edmund shook his head. "I don't, but I've always wanted to find out," he admitted. She seemed to be on board, so he didn't feel guilty saying that. He followed her to a table near the back and took a seat across from her. Someone came over, asking what they wanted and Ed just ordered a Butterbeer. He lifted an eyebrow as he looked at her. "So is that our plan once we leave here?" If she didn't really want to, that'd be fine, but if they were going to try and sneak in, Ed was going to try and think up which way would be best to get in. "Uhh ... I guess we don't really talk either. How's school going for you?"

Once the wait staff came over, she waited for Edmund to order his drink, a butterbeer, and smiled and ordered the same thing. She'd been in the mood for one anyway. "Oh absolutely," she said in reply to his question about there plans afterwards. He's piqued her curiosity about the Shrieking Shack and now that she had the opportunity and someone to go with her, she wanted to know what was in the place. This was probably going to be dangerous but she figured between the two of them they had enough spell knowledge to protect themselves from whatever decided to jump out at them. She suddenly hoped there was at least one friendly ghost in there. She also hoped this wasn't going to turn into one of her more idiotic plans. "I'm less worried because I'm not by myself. Not that the thought ever crossed my mind on my own but now that you've brought it up, I am absolutely for it." She laughed a bit when he pointed out the obvious, that they haven't talked much before. She was a little shocked that he'd even called out to her but they were here now."Yeah but I'm not rude and you don't seem to be like any of your more... selective housemates so I don't mind. School's pretty good. We've got one more year until we're out of here for good. How's it going for you?," she asked politely?

Edmund couldn't help but smile bigger when Zita said that she was definitely up for the Shrieking Shack. He didn't know her all too well, which was part of the reason why he hadn't expected that type of a reaction from her. Maybe a "I"ll go look at it with you", but he definitely hadn't expected her to want to sneak inside. He was excited. He nodded when she explained that she wasn't as nervous because she wasn't going alone. Ed shrugged. "I've thought of it before, but I didn't really want to go on my own, and most people that I see when I go there don't seem like the kind of people that would want to sneak in," he explained. He gave a small laugh when she said she wasn't rude and said a little about school. "I ... can be quite rude sometimes. I'm sorry if I've ever run into you on a bad day," and it was true. Ed didn't really want to be rude to everyone. It just kind of happened sometimes. He nodded when she mentioned that they only had one more year. "I think it's going good. I seem to be understanding everything, and it's going smoothly so I think it's good. What do you think of the tournament so far?" He smiled when his butterbeer arrived, thanking the lady before taking a sip and smiling. He loved this stuff and he might as well enjoy it since he and Zita were about to go out into the fresh air.

Zita's grin of excitement didn't seem to be leaving anytime soon. "Sounds like a plan then now that we have someone to go with. I can't wait now," she was practically dancing in her seat as she spoke. She couldn't necessarily say the possibilities of what resided in the old shack were endless. It was an old shack. There was always a chance of finding something interesting in there though. She didn't see many people entering the shack anyway so it was possible for there to be something undiscovered. Zita didn't usually get excited about things like that but it was a haunted shack and it was a random adventure. Random adventures always proved to be fun. Edmund mentioned something about him being rude sometimes and proceeded to apologize. Zita smirked and raised an eyebrow at him because she didn't quite believe him, only because she had never run into him when he had been mean. "People say I can be mean too but I don't really think I am. I'd just say I'm passionate. I don't try to be mean but I can be blunt with my words." she chuckled a bit. "They say honesty without tact is cruelty and all of that." She didn't think she was cruel but that saying was one of her favorites. She tried to remember that when she was speaking with people but sometimes she failed. She nodded and listened as he talked about school, laughing a bit when he said he was understanding everything so far. The waitress came back with their drinks and Zita thanked her, noticing that her nametag said Lina. "It's rather interesting actually. I think I would have enjoyed participating before I knew what the challenges were. The maze would have been fun but I don't know how keen I am on dying in such a thing," she commented.

Zita was grinning and so was Edmund. It was kind of strange that both of them were so excited to go somewhere new together since they weren't very close friends, but they were both excited and Edmund was glad. "Well, let's finish this quickly then," he gestured to the empty table in front of them, obviously referring to the drinks that still hadn't arrived, "so we can go." He snorted when Zita said that she could be mean too because she wasn't very tactful. "Well I guess that can be hard on people, but I just get annoying and mean when I'm upset about something. I tend to take it out on those around me." Ed wasn't sure if that was a good enough explanation for what he did, but he was trying. He was actually pretty surprised by how good of a listener Zita was. She seemed to actually want to know more and was at least good at looking like she was paying attention. Edmund nodded at her comments about the Triwizard Tournament, "Yeah ... it would've been cool to have the chance to be in the tournament, but I have also really enjoyed spectating. I think they do a good job at keeping everyone entertained by it." He nodded, his feelings going along with hers for. He didn't want to have to struggle through the tournament either. All in all, he was content with the way it worked out.
