"Aww come on Edmund, you can't rush an adventure," Zita snickered at Edmund's words. It wasn't as if they had anything other than their drinks on the way so they could finish them quickly and get to the Shrieking Shack. Her excitement was bubbling but they definitely didn't need to rush. Plus, it was her first time ever hanging out with Edmund outside of any quidditch games. She thought she should get to know a little bit about him at least. Even now he seemed easy to hang out with and he was cool and easy going. "I wonder why we never hung out before. Think it might be the whole 'house division thing'?," her question was asked with a laugh but she knew that the house division was only part of it. She didn't go out of her way to branch out and talk to people unless they were in GSA. Even then, she was a co-captain so she was forced to get to know the names and faces of everyone that came to a meeting. If Edmund hadn't approached her today, they probably would have graduated before ever speaking with one another as more than rivals on the pitch. Zita smiled at his honesty and self-awareness when he admitted that he could be mean. "Well now that I know, I won't take it out on you if you are ever mean to me." There was amusement in her voice when she spoke but she honestly couldn't ever remember a time where Edmund had been mean to her nor had she heard about him being mean to others. Even still, he'd admitted that he took his emotions out on others and, while that wasn't the best thing to do, it wasn't as if he was being mean or malicious on purpose. She nodded with Edmund as he talked about the tournament. "I think most find it entertaining because of the competition aspect of it. We're all rooting for someone to win. I think we have a good chance. Molly has been awesome!"

Edmund groaned when Zita said he couldn't risk an adventure. That wasn't necessarily true, but if they were going to spend a good portion of the day together exploring the shrieking shack, he had no need to be in a rush. "Okay," he responded after a moment, grinning at her. "I guess I got nervous that if we didn't do it right away that you'd change your mind. he shrugged, figuring she'd probably deny that. Then she mentioned being curious about why they never did anything before, attributing it to the house system. Ed nodded slowly, "That might be a part of it, but I also used to be quite a bit of a prat. I'm pretty sure I chased quite a few people away without realizing it." Of course Ed was a sixth year now and had pretty good control over his self control so hopefully that wouldn't be an issue anymore. However, Zita smiled when Ed mentioned that he used to be quite mean and he was surprised. Why would that make her smile? Then he laughed at her quick retort. "Good to know. I'll keep that in mind and to not to avoid you of that happens them," he teased back. She started talking about the competition aspect of the tournament and Ed found himself nodding along with her words. "I have to agree with that. She's doing a great job and representing our school well. It's pretty entertaining, I just wish they didn't cancel Quidditch for it." Really that was Ed's only complaint about the entire thing. He wished he could play in more that just practices.

Zita clasped her hand over her mouth to keep herself from laughing at the Slytherin at his groan. Impatient, impatient. She found it a bit amusing but she had to admit, she was impatient herself about going. She'd thought to herself that she would finish her butterbeer quickly, chat a little bit more with him and then leave so they could rush over to the Shrieking Shack. "Me change my mind? Nope. You've made it to where I have to go now. I'm really interested to see what's in there now and there's no way I'm backing out of this. Of course, it might be a little bit dangerous. I think we'll be able to make it in, figure out what's in there, and make it out unscathed," she commented curiously "Or, you know, die." She'd said the words jokingly but then she really began thinking about it then. The abandoned house was situated a bit out of the way and not many people had been in the Shrieking Shack before so it wasn't as if they could call out of help if something did happen. Sure, they would be totally fine. "We're totally capable of protecting ourselves from whatever is in there." Zita nodded as he talking about himself and was still rather impressed with his self-awareness. Sure, his behaviors were a little bit self destructive but he knew and accepted what his flaws were. At least by knowing them he'd be able to try and change them. She was trying to be that way, like with her forgetfulness. She was trying to change it, slowly but surely. When Edmund began talking about the tournament, him stating that he wished they hadn't cancelled Quidditch, Zita began nodding enthusiastically, to the point that an ache began to form in her neck."Oh I know what you mean! I hate that they had to cancel Quidditch for the tournament. I was really upset. I'd spent all summer practicing, trying to better my keeping skills and I was really looking forward to playing only to come back and find out that they'd cancelled quidditch for the year." she went on an entire tirade about it. "I mean we still practice and everything I just really miss feeling the adrenaline rush of an actual game. Does Slytherin still practice even though there aren't any school sanctioned games?"

She was trying not to laugh at him, which made Ed smile. Yes, he was fully aware that he could be overly dramatic when he wanted to be. This just happened to be one of the moments when he did want to be dramatic. His smile widened when she basically told him that she'd want to go no matter what. Good. He shrugged when she mentioned that it might be dangerous. "I doubt it. The thing's been abandoned for years. I think the most dangerous thing is the possibility of it collapsing on us. Pretty sure we can handle whatever happens." She seemed to be getting nervous though, and then said that they were capable of protecting themselves. To Ed it appeared like she was trying to assure herself, so he just nodded. She listened as he talked about himself, but didn't say anything which was just fine. Ed didn't need more people telling him what to do with his life, he'd had enough of that over the years. Even small corrections often annoyed him now. Then they talked about Quidditch. He was glad that Zita was as enthusiastic about it as he was because otherwise it was pointless. The thing was, there were people who watched Quidditch, people that were fans of it, die-hard fans, and then there were the players. No one missed Quidditch more than the people who played it, he was positive. He nodded. "I know, and even practicing now feels pointless because we don't get to play until next fall anyway."He grumbled. "I mean, of course I'm still going to practice and stuff, but yeah. I miss the games too. Without them, there's little excitement that comes from practice." He nodded to her, assuming that he'd answered her question about Slytherin still having practices. "Are you going out for team captain next year?" He asked curiously. He'd thought about it, but Ed didn't really think he'd make a good leader.

Edmund commented that he didn't they had anything to worry about going into the old shack minus the instability of its foundation and the very real possibility that it might crumble down upon them. She snorted at that. "If that's the case I think I'll be able to heal any injuries we may sustain. Really though, you don't expect any ghosts? Any animals or weird creatures? I totally do. I mean as you pointed out, no one's used it in a really long time. It might be filled with spiders," she pondered and mumbled as she really thought about it. The waitress brought over their butterbeers and grabbed her cup, taking a long sip of it. She ended up with foam around her mouth and quickly got rid of it with a quick swipe of her tongue. It warmed her up easily even though it wasn't really cold outside nor in the pub, she just liked the way it felt. "I agree though. I think we'll be fine. So hurry up and finish your drink so we can go." she said even though she was just getting started on her own. She listened intently, bobbing her head enthusiastically and egging on his frustration as he talked about quidditch and having to practice. That answered her question about Slytherin still practicing just like them. Or at least she knew he still practiced. When he asked her about being team captain next year, her excitement sobered up just a bit and she took a deep breath. She'd had this conversation with Jamie already and it hadn't gone particularly well. "Apparently. Don't get me wrong, I love quidditch, and I wouldn't mind being captain. I just don't want to spend my last year being stressed over being captain of the Hufflepuff team, GSA captain, and worrying about studying for N.E.W.Ts," she was playing with the foam of her butterbeer as the words came out on a sigh, "Not that I'm trying to thrust my problems on you or anything. What about you though? Are you going for captain?"

He was glad he got Zita to laugh a little bit, even though their topic of conversation wasn't particularly laughable. "You'd better be able to heal our injuries," he rolled his eyes and he chuckled softly. "No, I don't expect any weird creatures. There might be some ghosts or little animals, but I don't really think they pose a threat to us." What was the point in saying anything else. Due to his fascination with the place, Edmund read up about it for a while and there wasn't really any firm evidence that the place actually was haunted. Everyone just thought that it was. When the butterbeer came, Ed followed Zita's example and drank some of it. He was always surprised by the amount of peace he felt when he drank this. Of course, that probably had something to do with the fact that it was magical, nut he didn't care. He laughed when Zita told him to hurry up with his drink so they could go. He took another long drink, though the mug was just barely over half full then. "You really think I'm going to finish last?" He asked, quirking an eyebrow at the girl. Apparently his question about her going for team captain was one of much dispute ... or something like that. He listened to her reasoning, nodding along with it. She did seem to have a lot on her plate, so he could understand why she might not want to be captain. He smiled when she said she wasn't trying to push her problems on him. "Don't worry about it, I asked the question. To tell you the truth, I think that makes sense. I wouldn't want to be in charge of two different groups either, especially with NEWTs coming." He shrugged when she directed the question back at him. "I've thought about it, but I haven't really decided. I mean, I feel like I'm good at Quidditch, but I don't think I'm much of a leader, if that makes sense. I'm good at doing my job and taking care of my part, not watching after others as they do their own." He hoped that didn't sound arrogant because that definitely wasn't how he meant it.

She couldn't help the smirk that appeared on her face at his comment about her healing abilities. "Is that worry I detect? My skills are near impeccable, you know," she chuckled back. She'd been practicing healing spells for years now so she was sure that she would be able to heal anything they ran into. Unless her hands were broken and she wasn't able to get to her wand. She hadn't quite gotten down nonverbals just yet unfortunately but luckily enough she still had time to practice. She laughed once again at Edmund's antics before grabbing hold of her butterbeer and taking another long sip. Warmth filled her once again and she laughed as she placed her drink back on the table. She frowned when she noticed that his was lower than hers so she took another few sips to be just slightly under his. "If I put then effort into it then most definitely." The topic returned to her being quidditch captain and she realized that Edmund was actually being a really good listener. He wasn't complaining about her complaining about her struggles, which was nice. He then answered her about his own plans of possibly being Slytherin's captain and she was once again intruiged by his self-awareness. "There are a lot of people who would never admit to something like that because they believe they can do everything. Self-awareness is so important. Even if you end up as captain, I'm sure there are people on your team who are willing to help. A co-captain of sorts, right?" She had sort of become that to Jamie this year though she realized now that it was practically the older girl vetting her for the captain position. She wasn't upset about it anymore. She tried hard not to be upset about it anymore because at the end of the day, she liked being able to offer information to the team and what she noticed while in her keeper spot.

She was smirking at him and Edmund found himself a little surprised, but not in a bad way. He didn't expect her to be that confident in her abilities, but at the same time he was very glad. "Of course not! I would never doubt your abilities, Zita," he responded, the corner of his lips curling up, giving away his teasing. "Especially when I might end up depending entirely on them in a short while," he chuckled a little, unable to help himself. She was laughing, which Edmund took as a good thing. At least he didn't say something to upset her somehow. He seemed to have a gift for that. He noticed her drinking more of her butterbeer, glancing at his and drinking more and his grin widened a little bit. Then he was taking a few large gulps of the drink to ensure that he was winning. Honestly, Ed wasn't always so competitive, but he was right now. Huh. That was definitely interesting. He nodded when she offered her opinion about it being good that he was self-aware and he nodded. "Self-aware, huh? I like that way of saying it," he mused. No, the wording wasn't awfully important, but it was more positive. "I'll have to think about that. I co-captain could definitely help." She was definitely right about that. He took another gulp of his butterbeer. He was almost done now.

Edmund proceeded to insist that he would never doubt her abilities considering that he might have to depend on them and she snickered as a smile formed on his face. "Don't worry, I'm not malicious enough to not heal you. I'll be obligated to to heal you when I'm a Mediwitch on the job and I've been keeping that in mind for a while now," she commented, brushing off his comment with a smile. It wasn't something she had to really think about. If she could help, she always did though she knew that with a nurse on campus she didn't have to do much. And there weren't many serious injuries that happened on school grounds anyway, unless they were in quidditch matches. Even then, Madame Blacksmith was usually on standby to heal any injuries sustained. Zita watched as the Slytherin took hold of his butterbeer and began to down more of the sweet beverage. In all honesty, she liked butterbeer but she didn't love the stuff because of it's sweetness. If she had too much of the stuff, she would get a terrible stomachache and she would feel miserable for at least another 3 hours after the initial pain started. But watching as his drink became lower than his she just felt like she couldn't lose. Her eyes narrowed competitively and she watched him over the rim of her glass as she began to drink more of her own drink, the sweetness not yet reaching a point of being overwhelming. She sat it down just as he stated that he liked her words. "Yeah. Self-aware. Like not necessarily really mature but mature enough to recognize things you want to work on in yourself. You seem very mature if I do say so myself though," she gave a nod as she took another sip of her drink. He was almost done by the time he switched to talking about quidditch again. She looked at her own drink and she wasn't too far behind him but it was still more than he had. She took another quick sip and finally felt that point she shouldn't pass. "Yeah I can't do it," she said as she scrunched up her face and chuckled.

Edmund laughed when Zita said that she wouldn't leave him without healing him. That was a relief, though he didn't really expect anything different. She was a Hufflepuff, and while that didn't necessarily mean that she would heal him if she found him in need, at the same time he felt like someone from the Hufflepuff house would be more likely to help than others might be. "That's good to know. At least I know that I'm in good hands." She definitely knew more than he did about healing, so if one of them got hurt, it needed to be him. Ed was fine with that, it just meant that he'd need to be the one to take the risks. If there were any. He couldn't help but smirk when Zita eyed his drink and then started to drink more of her own. So this really was a competition? He found that funny, though he wasn't going to tease her about it. He was curious about how far she was willing to go. He laughed at her definition of self-aware. "Well I guess if you think I'm mature, I can say that applies to me. At least, the part about knowing whattowork on with myself. I'm not quite sure about all the mature stuff." He couldn't seem to help himself. He had to tease her just a little bit. She drank a little more and then said that she couldn't drink anymore and he chuckled. Then he shrugged, pushing his mug away. "How about we call it a tie then and get out of here and on to the real adventure," he encouraged, wiggling his eyebrows at her. Really? Wiggling his eyebrows? Huh. Apparently Edmund really was in a mood. He was going to blame it on the butterbeer.

Zita laughed along with him when he said he was glad that he was in good hands. Of course he was in good hands. She didn't yet know everything but she was still certain she could get them out of any trouble they might get into, healing wise, were anything dangerous to happen. She found herself laughing even more when he blew off her comments on him being mature. "I guess seem was the operative word there then? Nah, you're all right Edmund. You do come off as mature initially though. You're a lot more playful than I imagined," she stated with a grin. That could be because of the fact that he was royalty and when Zita imagined royalty, of course they were a lot stuffier and stuck up in her head. She'd never come into contact with royalty before, muggle or not. Royalty was royalty and she knew it came with a lot more rules than regular everyday people had to follow. He was cool though and funny and seemingly fun to be around. At Edmund's encouragement of her not having to finish off the rest of the butterbeer she huffed out in relief. "Yes, please. Totally. I really can't take another sip of the stuff. Plus, we've got a potentially haunted and definitely not dangerous shack to explore," she laughed out, pushing the mug away from herself and reaching into her pocket to pull out her payment for the drink. "You take the lead since you've been there more than I have." She stood up from the table and waited for the Slytherin boy, her excitement amping up once again.

Edmund couldn't help but laugh when Zita teased him about being mature, then getting serious about it. Well, he decided to take it as a compliment that she thought he was mature. His eyebrows lifted a little in surprise when she said that he was more playful than expected. Normally playful was not a word that Edmund felt like he could use to describe himself, but today ... alright, today he was definitely behaving playfully, though he didn't really know why. "Well consider yourself lucky," he teased, "because not everyone gets to see this side of me. It only comes out when I'm in a really good mood. Most days I just stick to the shadows," ish. Mostly he just stayed in places where most people wouldn't recognize him or be looking for him. Zita seemed very relieved at the diea that she didn't have to finish the butterbeer and Edmund smiled, glad that he got that right. "Alright then, off we go,"he said, rising to his feet and heading toward the door. Of course, he didn't actually leave until Zita was there. It would be rude to leave without her. Once outside, he started heading toward the Shrieking Shack. "How many times have you come here?" he asked curiously. It was his favorite place in Hogsmeade, but obviously not hers and he couldn't help but ask.

Edmund called her lucky then, saying that his playful nature only came out when he was in a good mood and that not everyone had seen him like that. She snickered at his words and nodded because she could believe it. She didn't know him well so she didn't have any othr choice but believe that this was a special side of him. If he hadn't told her though, she would have believed that this was how he was with everyone. She was very lucky indeed. She didn't want to think that just because he was Slytherin, he had a bad side that most people saw, not that she believed that about all Slytherin anyway, so it was a good thing that she was able to see this side of him. He rose from the table then and she set her payment, along with a nice tip, on the table for the wait staff just as he motioned for them to leave. Her excitement rose once again right as they walked out the door into the cool afternoon air. She stretched just a bit, a smile on her face and followed him down the pathway that lead to the abandoned building. At his question, she had to really think for a moment to give him an accurate answer because it hadn't been that many times she'd approached the building. "Twice I think. Both times I didn't go inside. A friend dragged me off to the Shack just because they were curious about it but we never went inside." It was funny because the first time she'd tagged along, her friend had gotten scared, worried that something would come out of the building and attack them so they hadn't wanted to get too close. "How about you? Do you come here every time you come to Hogsmeade? Is it your regular destination?" she asked teasingly?

They were making their way to the Shrieking Shack now and Edmund was probably more excited than the occasion warranted. Most people wouldn't be anticipating the exploration of a broken down building, but he was too excited about it. He smiled and nodded as she answered his question. "I don't think most people go in. I mean, it looks like it's off-limits and stuff ... but I've never seen any signs," he added the last part more as an afterthought, slightly nervous that she would change her mind and bail if she knew for sure that it wasn't something they were allowed to do. He shrugged, "About every time. It's a good spot for some solitude, I've just never really found anyone else who wanted to go inside and it seemed like the kind of adventure that would be more fun with someone, you know." He paused a moment, thinking about her other question, even though she was teasing. "It's one of the regular ones. I like Honeydukes and the Three Broomsticks, but that's about it. Where do you normally go in Hogsmeade?" Might as well try to get to know her even more, since they were on this adventure together.

Zita noticed the slight pause in his words, the last part about there never being signs stating that the Shrieking Shack was off limits, and and snickered, covering her mouth. She wasn't really worried about it being off limits; she didn't really notice anyone hanging around the building enough for them to get punished if it was. She was just much to excited about exploring it anyway to say no now. "You would know more than I do." She had already figured that the Slytherin had been there much more often than she had so she nodded her head when he admitted how frequent he'd come. She could understand that, it being a place to have some alone time. It wasn't a place that anyone thought to frequent themselves so it was a smart place to be alone. "Are you really that much of a loner?" the question wasn't meant in a rude way, her tone was purely conversational as she asked the question. She was really starting to ask him a lot of questions, she realized. It wasn't really normal of her but she didn't think it was that big of a deal. He'd tapped her to hang out rather surprisingly so she at least wanted to know a little bit more about him since she had the chance. "Mostly the Three Broomsticks," she answered when he asked about her regular locations in Hogsmeade. "I don't have a major sweet tooth so I don't go to Honeyduke's very often at all and I don't really care for Madame Puddifoot's."
