Dom had come to the carnival today after he'd finished all of his grading for the day. He'd heard about it from his students and had been a little sad when he couldn't go earlier because he quite enjoyed carnivals, especially when he had been younger. His parents had taken him to a bunch when he was younger, muggle and magical of course. He'd entered into the the area and had been handed a few tokens to play with, which surprised him because he had been ready to buy tokens like he'd had to when he was younger. With the tokens in his pocket, he'd strolled around and smiled at the nostalgia everything had brought to him. There were jugglers, firebreathers and animal shows along with plenty of rides and games to partake in. He spotted on game that he remembered playing a lot in his childhood and walked up to the booth. The butterbeer ring toss was one he never could quite get when he was younger and he expected it not to be any different. He handed his tokens over to the kind carnie that was running the booth before he took his rings and begin the game.

Adonia wanted to play every game possible! So, she headed to the Butterbeer Ring Toss. She wasn't a bad aim, so she was sure that she would be able to to fairly okay at it. And even if she didn't, it didn't really matter to her! She was here to have fun. She was playing this game alone, sadly, but that meant she could drag someone over here later and show them how to play! She loved having the one up on people and be able to instruct them. Heck, that's the reason her and Maria had gotten so close. A lot of instruction happened and still was happening in that relationship, that was certain.
She walked up to the game and took her rings. She decided to make it a little more fun, and closed her eyes after making sure she was facing the cups head on. She tried to memorize where they were, and then started to toss them one at a time, not opening her eyes until they were all thrown.

Georgie had sat down for a while after finishing with the dementor pinata, and had eventually decided that the violent games probably weren't the way to go, since the pinata experience had made her feel so sick. She saw that there was a ring toss, and decided to go over to it. It didn't look hard, and definitely wasn't violent, so she felt safe in doing it. Georgie stood at the back of the line, chewing her lips and watching other people play the game to see if maybe she could get some advice. It seemed like the biggest mistake people made was throwing too hard and having their rings bounce off of the tops of the bottles. When Georgie stepped up, she tried to be gentle with her tosses so the rings wouldn't bounce and lose her tickets.

Maria was definitely enjoying herself today. And not just because she was at a carnival but because Viola was there. Dragging (only partially) Viola around from booth to booth, trying out as many games as possible.... it was fun. They'd worked their way to the Butterbeer Ring Toss and after handing over her tokens she took up her three rings. Maria definitely wasn't good at the game but she hadn't been good at half of them so far. As long as she was having fun who cared about if she was good at them? So, with the same careless and reckless attitude she'd been exhibiting all day she tossed each ring.

The carnival continued to be shockingly fun for Viola, and they were once again tempted to blame it (or attribute it) all on (or to) Maria. Their girlfriend was just so damn happy, and Viola wasn't sure they would ever get over that. They couldn't remember ever seeing Maria this happy, which probably would have upset them under normal circumstances, but just made them happy in this case. When Maria led them over to the ring toss, Viola raised their eyebrows. That didn't really look that hard. If they could drive a stick shift - albeit poorly - they could totally land some rings on some bottles! Viola ignored the fact that they had just made a huge logical fallacy, and stepped up to the front of the line after Maria played. They tossed their rings carefully, with gentle flicks of their wrist, and watched where they landed.

It was time for a break and to find something to eat and drink. Lining up in a queue for what looked to be Butterbeer, Scorpius waited patiently. It had been a while since he had tasted the drink, since most of his weekends were spent studying now. During the occasional Hogsmeade trip, he always made sure to stop by the Three Broomsticks and grab a drink. He didn't have to do that today, and he kind of hoped that it was a little cheaper there than it was at the pub. Money wasn't exactly an issue, being a Malfoy and all, but he preferred not asking his parents for any extra spending money if he could help it.
Upon arriving at the front of the line, he was disappointed to see that this wasn't actually a Butterbeer stand. It was a ring toss. He inquired to see if they sold any, and they said no, but asked if he wanted to play the game regardless. He wasn't pressed for time, so nodding his head, Scorpius took the three rings and aimed for the Butterbeer bottles.
