PUNT-A-GNOME Many may be familiar with this past time from home! Step up and give a few gnomes a good kick! You get to kick three gnomes so flip a coin three times and at the end of your post, specify whether they are heads or tails.
Open: Wednesday Cost: 3 tokens Tickets: 5-15

At first, Royal had had no intentions of using the fistful of tokens that had been shoved upon him when he had first entered the carnival. All of the games had looked boring. But one particular sign caught his eye - Punt-A-Gnome. Royal didn't consider himself a particularly violent person (there was a reason he hadn't gone into being an Auror like his father) but with everything he was still trying to deal with, a little bit of aggression for the sake of sport was forgivable, he thought. It was better than kicking another person, though if Elaine Dupree managed to show up to the carnival, he would gladly do that, too. Royal stepped up to the booth and handed over the price listed in big red letters on the sign - three of his tokens. It still left him with a sizable amount, and Royal wondered once again if he was going to end up actually using the rest of them. The carnie gestured towards three gnomes that were lined up in a neat row. They looked slightly upset by the whole thing, not that Royal could blame them. He wanted to go easy on the little things, but that would defeat the purpose of him playing in the first place - and he wouldn't hit the target, either. Royal didn't hesitate again before kicking the three gnomes, one right after the other, and watching them soar through the air.

OH EM GOODNESS. GNOME KICKING. Adonia squealed with delight at the idea. She stepped in line and bounced on her toes impatiently as the people ahead of her took their hits. Some had very good kicks! Others, not so good. There was one little boy, a second year maybe, who took a kick that was UNBELIEVABLY impressive. Adonias jaw dropped and she actually applauded as the boy was awarded many tickets. Then, finally it was her turn! It really wasn't that long of a wait, but Adonia was an impatient soul. She stepped up and took a kick at her first gnome, then her second. Before the third gnome she lifted her arms into the air and brought her hands down to her chest with her hands flattened together in front of her, in a namaste position. Then she took a deep breath and took her last kick, the grin on her face wild. ADMIN DEE edit SUZIE

Punting gnomes wasn't something Jess was familiar with, having always lived in Muggle cities, not the Wizarding countryside. But she had been good at kicking footballs for decades, so even so, she had a hunch that she could do good at this. Good enough to try, at least. She stepped up, and kicked - one, two, three. Not her best - it was weird kicking things that were alive. @kath ADMIN DEE edit

Some of the games Scorpius came across were simply absurd. The pinata and butterbeer ring toss were typical of any carnival or birthday party, but the one he was standing in line for now was a whole different thing. He was supposed to punt three gnomes, and then would be rewarded from that. At first he couldn't believe that they were using real gnomes, and this was some kind of wizarding past-time. How come he had never heard of it before? The occasional gnome found its way onto the Malfoy Manor grounds, but the gardeners always managed to yank them out of the ground before they could really do any damage. As far as he was concerned, they were simply pests that had to be taken care of before they harmed the ecosystem. Yet something didn't sit well with him when it came to kicking them. Except that he still stepped right up and punted away on the first one, making it a little more gentle than the people in front of him had. This had to be some kind of ethical problem. Gnomes weren't exactly intelligent, but they were still living creatures. He hit the second and it went flying, landing close to where the first was. Then again, wasn't this carnival being put on by the Ministry? They wouldn't let a game through if it was unethical. That made sense to him. Scorpius lined up and kicked the last one before collecting his prize. The gnomes seemed fine enough.

Dunk the Mermaid had gone well enough for Georgie as far as not panicking over having to hit something with a beanbag, so she was hopeful that maybe Punt-A-Gnome wouldn't be so bad, either. Maybe, she told herself, it was just the pinata that had brought out some sort of repressed memories in her. What memories, she didn't know, but Georgie wanted to keep playing games, so play she did. The line for Punt-A-Gnome was long in a way that made Georgie question whether or not everyone in Britain was a sadist, but when it was finally her turn, she didn't waste any time in being firm with her kicks. She wanted to play the games to the best of her abilities if she was going to be forking over tokens for them. Georgie wasn't much of a soccer star, but she did think that she got in a few solid hits, and looked eagerly at the carnie to see what her prize was.

"Rigged junk." Daniel said as he walked away from one of the other games. He knew he had hit that target it just didn't move like it was suppose to but what else could he have expected from a Carnival. He was going to just head home but he already had these tokens so he might as well waste them before leaving but he wasn't sure on what till he passed the Gnome kicking game, or punt-a-gnome as they were calling it. Daniel could remember doing that back when home during his summer breaks with friends. He had felt bad for the little things at first but they never got hurt by it. Daniel shrugged as he went for it, even if it was rigged in someway at least he got to kick something. Daniel handed over his tokens and took his spot kicking the three gnomes, once he was done he turned to the Carnie to see just how they might rip him off this time. Other TJ @puck edit
