Hugo shugged at Fred's question. He'd known the boy his entire life, but Hugo still had troubles telling when he was teasing and messing around or when he was serious. At first the question seemed serious, but when he brought Rosie into the picture, it became obvious he was teasing and Hugo laughed a little at the joke. He wouldn't let most people talk poorly about his sister, but Fred was family and Hugo knew he didn't mean it, which was why he found humor in it. "I don't have selective hearing," Hugo argued, still smiling at his older cousin. "I just got distracted by focusing on the game. You know, it's my first time playing on this. I'm trying to do well." It made sense to him why he hadn't heard the question, and he figured Fred could understand that too, at least in theory. Hugo was ... surprised, to say the least, when Fred mentioned how he had something with the Durmstrang Champion ... a dalliance? Like, a romantic one? He was taken by surprise, but it wasn't a bad thing. He just didn't expect to hear that. "Really? How'd you meet him, since you're not at school this year?" That was the real question. Hugo didn't think Fred was lying, he just didn't know how they'd met and found himself curious. He made a face when his cousin said everything else was focused on work. "That's all? What happened to the adventurer that is my cousin?" Hugo teased as he reached his stick in front of his cousin to try and steal the puck. Was that a rude thing to do since Fred wasn't really paying attention? Maybe, but Hugo did it anyway.

Fred smirked when Hugo insisted that he didn’t have selective hearing. He could say that all that he wanted, but it wasn’t true, at least from what Fred had observed. “It’s my first time playing against a real person, and you don’t see me ignoring you.” Fred teased Hugo, a wide grin on his face. Really, no one could spend time with Fred without being thoroughly made fun of, so Hugo had signed up from this sort of behavior form him. The subject switched to Elias, which was… different to talk about. “The Wheezes did this thing where we selected a random foreign student to give a package of joke products to. Kind of like an advertising thing.” Fred said with a shrug. It had been his idea, and he thought it had worked alright, since they had gotten a non-zero amount of orders from the foreign kids after the package had been sent. “Elias won, so I offered to show him around Hogsmeade as an extra courtesy type thing, and then one thing led to another.” Fred shrugged. He had been certain of the momentum of the relationship, but then everything had kind of just… stopped. Not that Fred could blame Elias – graduation was looming and it was scary to have to think about relationships and work and the adult world. Hugo seemed incredulous that Fred didn’t have anything else to report, and the older boy shrugged. “My other partners in crime have been busy.” Or dead, but Fred didn’t really want to heave that emotional baggage onto his younger cousin. Hugo didn’t need to feel guilty about Abby dying. None of them did.

Hugo shot his cousin a fake glare. "Fine, your first time playing against a person. My first time playing period! I think that gives me some right to be a little distracted," he tried to defend himself. Not that there was much point to that. Fred was a tease. Hugo knew this, but sometimes he still rose to the bait. He couldn't help it! He listened, nodding as his cousin explained how he met the Durmstrang Champion and how things progressed from there. "I'm sorry things didn't work out for you," he said once his cousin was done relating what happened. Fred seemed alright about the whole thing, but he might be hiding his feelings about it. He nodded, frowning when Fred said that everyone was busy. "Well we'll have to see if maybe we can get the family together in the summer and do something fun," he encouraged with a smile. He somehow did steal the puck and turned away from his cousin, racing back to the other goal as he made another shot. Sports were not his forte, but he was at least trying.

Fred just smirked when Hugo kept insisting that his first time playing gave him a right to be distracted. They could argue about it the rest of the day if they tried to, so the older boy decided just to drop it. Fred shrugged when Hugo said he was sorry that Fred’s thing with Elias hadn’t worked out. “Sometimes that happens in love.” Hugo was lucky to find the person that he loved in one try – and know that it was forever, thanks to his ability to look into the future. The rest of the world? Well, they had to keep trying to find people that fit. And even if Fred didn’t find a perfect fit, he had stopped looking for perfect about the same time Abby had died. Now he was just a little afraid of dying alone – which was part of the reason he was afraid of every touching his cousin, but that was a different conversation for a different day. “Most of our family isn’t my partner in crime, Hu.” Fred pointed out. That distinction went to James, and he hadn’t really been in the mood for that sort of thing. Fred couldn’t blame him. “But a Weasley family Quidditch match could be fun.” Fred added, if only to keep his cousin optimistic.

Hugo nodded when his cousin said that sometimes things didn't work out in love. He knew that happened a lot. At least, he'd seen quite a bit of it during school. So many people started dating someone and were "madly in love" and then the next thing he knew they were broken up. The difference between those people and him and Xan was that he saw their future together. He wished other people could know their futures were certain together like he did. Still, it was probably better for him to focus at the moment at hand. He rolled his eyes at his cousin, "I wasn't saying we're your partner in crime, Fred," Hugo argued. "I was just saying that we should get together and do something fun. As a family, because we haven't done something like that in a while." Then Fred mentioned that a Quidditch match could be fun and Hugo nodded, "Exactly! Do you want to start planning that or want me to," he teased. Ha! Like Hugo would actually plan something like this. If they were going to do a family Quidditch match over the summer, it would definitely be last minute.

Fred shrugged when Hugo said that the family should get together and do something fun, because they hadn’t in a while. It was hard to get the whole family together, though, and even if they did, it was likely that not everyone would be able to show up. “I don’t do planning, Hu.” Fred scoffed, even though that was patently untrue. When he was in school, the only thing that he had planned was pranks, but now that Fred was learning how to take over his father’s business when the time came, he was learning to plan a lot more. He learned how to make schedules so that the same people didn’t get awful shifts all the time and he learned how to order products before they actually ran out of them and he learned how to budget his time so that he could still occasionally live a little. There was actually a lot of planning that went into Fred’s life at the moment… which was probably why he didn’t want to plan a Quidditch match on top of it. “Will spouses be allowed to play? I’d love to see Scorpius on a broom.” Fred wasn't sure what Rosie was doing anymore, but hey, making fun of her boyfriend could never hurt, right?

Hugo rolled his eyes when his cousin said that he "didn't do" planning. "Which is exactly why I asked," he responded without missing a beat. "I can plan it. I doubt everyone will be able to come, but I'll invite them all and decide on a time." Hmm. Maybe Xan would want to help him with that. Hugo wasn't really sure how to plan something like this, so maybe his girlfriend did know. "Is there any specific time you don't want it to be?" He asked, deciding to get that out of the way already. He grinned when Fred asked if spouses could play. "I'd say that's a definite yes, as long as they want to." He didn't want anyone to try and force Xan to do anything she didn't want to and figured the others would feel similarly. He laughed, "Apparently we're not too good at playing this game." He didn't really realize when exactly they stopped chasing the puck around ... but he didn't know where it was anymore. His eyes narrowed at the thought that Fred might have done that on purpose. His cousin could be quite devious when he wanted to be.

Fred wrinkled his nose at Hugo when his younger cousin said that Fred’s lack of planning was the reason he had asked the question in the first place. Hugo was getting too quick for his own good – soon he was going to give Fred a run for his money, and he didn’t know how he felt about that. His baby cousin was still supposed to be just a baby, not a smart guy! When Hugo asked if there was a time that Fred didn’t want the Quidditch game to be, Fred shrugged. “I work for my dad. If I want time off, I can just give him the ole puppy dog eyes and spin some story about needing to spend time with the family.” Fred said with a smile. There were some perks to being employed by one’s family members, and flexible hours were one of them. “Excellent.” Fred said, rubbing his hands together mischievously at the thought of all of the people he could drag up onto broomsticks – and how embarrassed his cousins would be because of his antics. Hugo commented about how bad they were at playing hockey, and Fred chuckled. “Eh, we haven’t seen each other in a while. We need to talk more than we need to play hockey.” Fred said, scuffing at the ground as he looked around for the lost hockey puck.

Hugo grinned and nodded when Fred basically said he could schedule the game for whenever he wanted. "Sounds good to me. I'll let you know what I get going." He was excited. Hugo cared about all his family and the idea of getting them together gave him yet another thing to look forward to during the summer. They didn't get together enough, in his opinion. He rolled his eyes a little at the mischievous glint he saw in his cousin's eyes. That meant Fred might be in planning mode or pranking mode ... probably the latter. This get together over the summer definitely was going to be fun. At Fred's comment about them needing to talk, Hugo nodded. "Yeah, that sounds about right. I'm sure you'll see quite a bit of me over the summer though. We'll get lots of talking in then." Fred might get tired of him, since Hugo would probably spend quite a bit of time at the joke shop. Oh well, irritating Fred would probably be fun. "Oh! Here's the puck," he said, seeing it in a corner and kicking it over to his cousin. "You want to continue or are we done with the game?" Hugo asked curiously.

Hugo was just so damn agreeable, and Fred was trying to figure out why that was. Maybe if Fred found a boyfriend that loved him as much as Hugo’s girlfriend loved him, then he could be that nice all the time. Fred wasn’t going to bank on that, though. “Don’t forget to give everyone enough notice.” With a bunch of his cousins becoming adults at the end of the school year, it would be difficult to find a time when everyone had off of work if they didn’t get enough notice.
“Who says I want to see you?” Fred asked, sticking out his tongue at Hugo. He was looking forward to spending more time with his cousin. He knew that his Aunt Hermione liked to do yearly summer vacations, though, which meant that Hugo might be gone for a portion of the summer doing that. Apparently Hugo had been looking for their game supplies, because he called out that he found the puck, asking whether or not they were done with the game. “We can just call it done.” Fred said. They hadn’t been much good at the game anyways. “We can just say that I won, right?” Fred said with a teasing smile. He doubted anyone would ask for the results of his game with Hugo, but Fred enjoyed ribbing his cousins – at least the ones who would let him joke without getting pissed off.

Hugo nodded as his cousin reminded him to give everyone notice about the game. "Don't worry, I will," he reassured him, trying to make a mental list of all the things he'd need to do if he wanted to make sure this worked. Honestly though, he'd probably just go to his sister and ask her to help him figure out how to make this happen. Even if she didn't want to actually participate in the game, he knew that she'd help if he asked. Rose was just that great! "I'll make sure to remind you as well," he teased, unable to keep himself from doing so. He was sure Fred would appreciate it.
At Fred's ridiculous question, Hugo grinned, "I do. Everyone wants to spend more time with me, didn't you know?" He rolled his eyes, showing that he was only teasing, but he was sure Fred would know that without the obvious sign. He laughed when Fred said that the game was over and they could say he won. "Sure, sure. You won Fred." Actually, Hugo couldn't remember if his cousin made a "goal" or not. He knew that he didn't ... so it might actually be a tie. Either way, Hugo wasn't normally super competitive so he didn't mind giving his cousin the win.

Fred nodded when Hugo said that he’d give plenty of advanced notice about the game. Of course he would – Hugo was one of the most responsible Weasleys that there was. The most responsible Weasley who also happened to be in Gryffindor house, definitely. Hugo said that he’d also remind Fred, and the older boy rolled his eyes and cuffed his cousin on the shoulder good-naturedly. “You know, I might just need that reminder.” Fred said with a chuckle. “I am, after all, getting old and senile.” He had graduated just the previous May, but sometimes Fred felt like it was ages ago. Being an adult was exhausting sometimes.
Fred rolled his eyes, not believing that Hugo had the guts to answer his question the way that he did. The kid had more and more spunk every year, Fred had to give him that. Hugo agreed that Fred had won, and Fred reached over to ruffle his cousin’s hair. “You’re a good kid, Hu.” He said with a small smile. “C’mon, I’ll get you something to eat before you go back to Hogwarts.” Fred said, pulling his cousin along so they could get into more mischief together.
