The good thing about there being a carnival was the fact that almost everyone was there. Which made going to Hogsmeade significantly easier for Kinsey. She loved the small little village with all its shops and sweets, but often opted out of the pace because of the extreme variety of intentions found there. Not that she was every really able to label who was meaning to do what, but there were so many people there that she had a tendency to get confused. So she wandered the nearly empty streets, enjoying the relative peace that was to be found here. Maybe she would head on over to the carnival later, if she found a friend to go with or something, but for now she was happy where she was.
She looked around herself with interest, taking mental images of what she was seeing. She wanted to remember this village like this, because while it was enchanting with students bustling here and there, it was even more so when it was empty and you could actually see the cobblestone road and paths. Kinsey smiled as she walked along, then gasped when her foot caught on something and she found herself tumbling to the ground. Ouch. At least there wasn't anyone here to see it.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] We don’t have to be ordinary Make your best mistakes [attr="class","itokaytext"] Madi was busy that day at Hogsmeade village. She was walking as fast her heels would permit her to and was enjoying the carnival making sure to not miss anything. Just then, Madi could sear she saw Kinsey, her friend from ravenclaw. Before she could even decide to go after her, the crowd around her overwhelmed and poof, she was gone. Now, Madi was on a mission she needed to find the girl and find out what she was doing out here all alone. Well she knew that she was being a hypocrite considering that she too came to the carnival alone. Yesterday, she had the surprise company of the slytherin girl but today once again she came alone.
As Madi concentrated more on the road in front of her, so as to not trip and fall and considering that it was most likely possible with the crowd around her. She saw a glimpse of Kinsey just before she entered into an alley which was less crowded and away from the carnival buzz. Now that she was back into a place which allowed her room to breathe, Madi looked around trying to spot Kinsey. And sure enough, the girl was there in the same alley. As Madi was almost behind her, she saw Kinsey tumble forward and immediately Madi shot her hand and caught the girl before she could fall face first. Grinning, she helped the girl and spoke "Hello Kinsey". Looking over the girl, she spoke again "are you okay?"

Kinsey didn't notice Madi approaching her from behind and gasped when she felt herself being caught. Immediately she felt a strong urge to help and knew that was what Madi was feeling at the moment. It was quite obvious to Kinsey that her desire had been to help her, but she still felt a little weird. It always surprised her when someone touched her unexpectedly and she felt a rush of whatever intention they had in that moment. The good thing was that Madi's intentions were positive, which was a big help for Kinsey. "Hi Madi," she responded cheerfully. "I'm fine, I just ... tripped." She felt her cheeks warm up. She hated being embarrassed. "What are you doing here instead of at the carnival?" As far as Kinsey knew, most people were spending their time at the carnival, which was why she was spending her day in the village. It was much more peaceful here.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] Take your shot it might be scary Hearts are gonna break [attr="class","itokaytext"] 'Kinsey was alright, whew crisis averted' thought Madison. It would be a bad thing, if the raven fell down, and being in the vicinity Madi had to of course help her out. It was not something she can say she is good at, but some times Madi helps out people as best as she can. Just like she did for her brother, which had back lashed onto her very greatly. Why couldn't that idiot of a brother understand the simple concept that she was just looking after him. Okay, may she was the younger one and he was elder in age, but that didn't mean that she has to stop looking out for him. And that was exactly what she id and that was what pissed her brother off, enough for him to go to France and then return back only to stop talking to her again. She was fed up with his attitude, usually he was the most laid back one among the twins, but lately he seems to be the most uptight and irritating one. Well that might have been her partial fault, but anyone who knows what she had done could agree that it was something a sister would do, all except her brother. That idiot of a brother, who was not responding to her letters. Oh dear he was going to face her wrath for sure when she gets home for Summer, yeah pranking and pranking and lots of it. 'Woah, backup Madison you are here with someone, don't zone out' screamed Madison's conscience just like every other time when she get's lost in her cloud of thoughts.
As Kinsey looked red in the face, Madi could easily understand how the other was feeling at that moment. It was not a moment you would want other's to see. She however decided not to dwell into the topic any further. And as Kinsey asked her the reason why she was not at the carnival, Madi gave a grin and said "long story short : I came here alone and saw you a few minutes before and realized that you too were alone and followed you here". And after she ticked every thing off of her fingers, Madison grinned a bit and spoke up "so, do you wanna walk with me?"

Kinsey was glad that Madi helped her. She really was, but she also wished that no one had seen that, even the kind Gyffindor. Not that she would ever say or even indicate that. She didn't want to make Madi feel uncomfortable for helping her. Then the girl seemed to be a little distracted. Not that Kinsey minded. Hopefully she could get control of the blush overcoming her face before Madi paid attention to her again. That would definitely be a nice thing. However, that was not Kinsey's luck today. Madi started talking again, but to Kins' relief she was simply answering her question. Kinsey smiled, "Oh, so you just didn't want to spend the day alone," she teased a little, blaming it on the fact that she was still a little shaken up for almost falling over.
Then Madi asked if she wanted to walk with her and Kinsey nodded cheerfully. "Sure! A walk sounds good. Where do you want to go?" This wasn't really exactly what she planned, but Kinsey was excited all the same. She liked to be around people, most of the time.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] Together we can just let go Pretend like there’s no one else [attr="class","itokaytext"]As much as Madi hated it, she often zoned out into her own thoughts. She never did it intentionally but it happened at times when she was over thinking, and these day it was how Madi is. She had on soo much in her brain and one fine day it will all burst out.And that day, one would not want to near her, for she can be quite the drama queen. And luckily for her, Kinsey either did not notice her shift or she chose not to comment on it. Either way Madi was glad. And as the raven teased her, Madi gave a smirk and spoke "you know me Kinsey, I can never be alone for a long time. I'm much too special to be left alone by anyone".
As the other girl agreed upon her earlier offer of walk, Madi beamed. Truth be told, she wanted some company to keep her thoughts grounded. She gave a smile and said "excellent then. We shall go"as she offered her hand with a most dramatic flair to it. As Kinsey asked where she wanted to go, Madi gave a shrug and said "I don't have any place in mind to be honest. How about you?"

Madi was playing along with her and that was nice for Kinsey. She liked teasing people and messing around with them, but often felt uncomfortable doing so unless she felt like she knew them. "Definitely too special," she agreed in a mock-serious tone. "but feel free to join me. I'm definitely down for some company." Even though she didn't really know what she wanted to do .... that was irrelevant. She didn't need to know what she was doing.
She laughed as the Gyffindor girl offered her hand. She took it easily and then moaned. "Noooooo. If neither of us know where we want to go, then what are we supposed to do?" She wasn't really worried about it, but Kinsey also wasn't planning on coming up with something herself. At least Madi had a reputation for doing fun things. Maybe she'd be able to come up with something for them to do now.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] Pretend like there’s no one else here that we know [attr="class","itokaytext"] "Of course I am" said Madi with a broad smile. She was a little dramatic at times, and at times like these, you could get to see this side of her. As the other girl carried on with the conversation, Madi was much too happy to continue. And said "then let's go shall we". Looping their arms together Madi started walking with the girl. As she did, the blonde haired girl spoke to her partner "so, Kinsey.. How is it going?"It had been quite some time since she talked to the Bainbridge girl. Speaking of talking, it has been quite a long time since she talked to many of her friends. All of a sudden it felt to Madi as though she had no time to spare which was quite shocking to the girl. Now-a-days all she did was get her assignments done and submit her work on time and flying. That was it. Nothing more nothing less.
As Kinsey mentioned that she did not ave anything mind, Madi grinned and said "when you are in the company of Madison, there is no need to worry. We will figure something out."And then after a few seconds of pause she added "besides if you and I have no particular place in mind, I am sure that we can roam around a bit you know. That way we can talk and catch up too whilst looking around. How does that sound?" asked Madi unsure of how the raven would take her plan. Usually, people kind of agree to her which always leaves Madi stunned. It was not as though she was a good planner or such but she rather gets surprised that they trust her enough to leave the planning on her.

Kinsey was glad that Madi had so much self-confidence. It was a nice thing to be around. From her observations, people with lots of self-confidence seemed to help those around them gain their own. It was an interesting way of seeing friendships, but Kinsey was a firm believer that every friend you had gave you something of theirs and it generally had to do with attitude and outlook on life. Madi just had a good attitude and outlook, which made her so much fun to be with. She shrugged at the question. "It's fine. I mean, nothing much is going on. Just studies, watching the Tasks when they come along." She smiled as she remembered the last task. "My brother came to see me during the last Task," she told Madi. Dustin graduated last year and Kinsey didn't really see him all that often, so having him visit made her happier than she could explain. "How about with you?"
She laughed when Madi said they didn't need to worry about what they were going to do, bringing up the fact that they could just talk while wandering around. "That sounds fine with me," Kinsey said. Sometimes it was nice to not have a plan and just do whatever came up. Besides, she liked getting to know more people, so this would help her with that goal. "Any idea which direction we should go first?"

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] Pretend like there’s no one else here that we know [attr="class","itokaytext"] As Kinsey answered her back, it didn't take Madi a lot of time to understand that her answer was probably similar to what she would have answered. That made her actually wonder, if everyone in the castle was feeling the same way. Kinsey was not the first person who gave such an answer. Yeah the tournament was being hosted and yadda yadda, but it would seem that many of her friends were similar to how she was. Life was kind of becoming a routine and that was a very bad thing. if life was really meant to be the same every single day, then there would be no need to live till we are old. But that is not how life should be, and certainly not theirs. They were all teenagers to be fair and they have a lot to achieve and each moment should be cherished. Well if the problem was not her's, and was a universal one Madi had to do something to rectify that. But she didn't know how. She then spoke out loud,"seems like it is similar to mine" cutting of her thoughts.
As Kinsey mentioned that her brother dropped by to see them, Madi tried hard not to react to that. While she too had not one but two brothers, neither of them have decided to come and visit her. She might understand if they are busy and such, which was totally applicable for Issac, the same could not be said for Adrian. He could have come to see her, well she would feel utterly delighted if he would just write back to her. But nooo he was not replying back, and it seemed far cry for Madi to even think about him visiting her. "Wow, that's nice of him to drop by. Wish mine had the same idea or thought in their brains". Madi shook her head at the thought. No use crying over something she doesn't have a say on. While she might've been able to get her way when her brothers were with her, she was not able to do it like before, now that they are away from Hogwarts. Sometimes, she became the elder sister and bossed those two around, and being the best brothers they were would listen to her and grant her every wish."So, How is Dustin doing?"she asked Kinsey. While she may not have known that guy before, she sure knows of him now, with all the articles about him, now that he is a quidditch player.
As Kinsey asked about her, Madi gave a shrug and said "as I said before, it is going on. Boring at times and most of the times I'm in the dorm playing with my kitten Sugar." As Kinsey asked where they would be headed towards, Madi thought for a moment and said "how about we go to the end of the village and check out the Dominic Maestros? You like music right?'she asked the other girl with a questioning look. And then she added, "I totally like music, I sing sometimes while my brother used to play the guitar. I mean, not only do I sing, I usually listen too, but then again it is not possible to do so at Hogwarts. What with magic and technology not mixing an such"rambled Madison as they walked along.

Kinsey smiled at Madi's comment that they seemed to be coming from the same place. It was nice to know that someone understood, though she assumed most people in the castle felt pretty similarly at the moment. Madi said she wished her brother would have come to visit her and Kinsey shrugged. "I am glad he came to visit, but I don't think I was the only reason he came. He said he had a meeting with one of his friends," she explained. Of course, she was positive that if she ever asked Dustin to come, he would be there in a moment, but in this instance she hadn't asked him to. She smiled as Madi asked about his brother. "Well, he wasn't in a very talkative mood, but I think he's doing well. His friend got injured a short while ago in a match, so I'm sure he's been worried about her," Kinsey added.
Kinsey grinned when she heard about the kitten. "You have a kitten?" she almost squealed. "I want to see it! If you don't mind, of course." She smiled again at the thought. While she sometimes struggled with magical creatures, Kinsey loved normal ones, especially babies. She smiled and nodded at Madi's idea. "I can't play any instruments, but I do like music. Let's go," she said, her enthusiasm dripping through her tone.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] We're building an empire We owe it all to each other [attr="class","itokaytext"] Madison nodded as Kinsey spoke about her brother. At least one of the duo has had a chance to talk to their brother. And while she did add about him coming for a friend, Madi said "but you wouldn't hear them admitting that"she said with a known smile. Practically every sister knew the typical brother behaviour. They would go out of their way to deny and assure that sisters are the next best thing in the world. For her brother's at least it was like that while at Hogwarts. While Issac dropped a few letters, Adrian was irritating the heck out of her. She wondered if she has to hunt him down like she used to do when they were all kids. She was brought back to te present world by Kinsey's voice. She could understand that many things could have been going through her brother's mind at that time. "That's sad, hope she feels okay soon"she said upon hearing about injury. Madi knew firsthand how nasty a quidditch injury can be.
As Kinsey asked about her kitten, Madi gave a nod and said "yes I have one, name is Sugar"she said feeling a big grin break on her face at the thought of her cute little one. She nodded at Kinsey's request to see it and said "of course you can see it, Sugar is very sweet to others and would go to anyone. I am actually surprised you did not see her. She is quite the adorable one, with brown-black fur and grey eyes, it is perfection"she said and then with a giggle she added "and instead of a collar, my littl eone roams around wearing necktie bow, in different colors. Usually it would match my dress"she said excitedly. As the other girl agreed to go with her, she nodded and said "excellent. As they walked she listened on Kinsey talk. "You could try and learn an instrument sometimes, Kins..Did you know that music helps us to concentrate better? I tried it out for myself and it actually worked."she said to the other girl.

Kinsey smiled at Madi. "Yeah, he wouldn't say that." Dustin was too good of a brother to tell Kinsey that he came to the school to visit someone else, even if it was the truth. He was just kind like that. Kinsey nodded when Madi mentioned that she hoped Dustin's friend felt better. In all honesty, Dustin hadn't even mentioned Evelyn, but Kinsey kept up with news on the Falcons, so she knew what happened. She just didn't want to push him into talking about it. "Yeah, me too. We didn't talk about it, I just think that probably was part of the reason he was so quiet. Have you heard from your brothers lately?" She asked, not so subtly trying to change the subject.
Kinsey couldn't help but awwe when Madi talked about her kitten. "Sugar? Oh, that's so cute!" Kinsey couldn't help but feel excited, seeing how much her friend enjoyed her kitten. She grinned when Madi said she could come visit it sometime. "Yay! I hope you mean it, because I will definitely take you up on that!" She tried to imagine the kitten the way her friend was describing it. The thing sounded adorable! "A bow tie?" Kinsey giggled at the mental image. "That sounds like so much fun." Man, now she was wishing she had another pet. But ... she did have Scuttle and she loved the owl. Maybe she just needed to play with him a bit more. She nodded at Madi's suggestion. "I like listening to music, especially when I study, but I've never actually had the chance to play any instruments and ... I don't normally sing in public." She could. In fact, Kinsey thought she had a nice voice, but she felt strange sharing it with others. She didn't want to get made fun of for it either.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] [attr="class","itokaytext"]
Madison just smiled at her reply. There was no need for words, as that was something anyone with a brother can relate to. As Kinsey spoke about her brother, she could understand what might have been going through his mind. Seeing your fellow team mate hurt can be painful. "Oh, sorry."She felt sorry for bringing up the topic in the first place. She didn't know what Kinsey was feeling, and she was not sure of what to make out. She was sorry for a lot of things, and this just got added into that pile. As she was lost in her thoughts, Kinsey's words jerked her back to reality. What did she ask, oh yeah about her brothers. Madison was now at loss of words. How could she ever explain herself. In the end, she decided to just speak her mind. "Issac has sent me a letter last Sunday, and Adrian... it's been a long time since I heard from him"and sighed.
As Kinsey commented on her kitten's name, she grinned with pride. Well it was not the best name, but it was not a bad one either. Thanks Kins."Nevertheless, she found that it was an apt one for that cute bundle of fur, over time. As she asked about visiting, Madison nodded and said "of course you can meet Sugar. And I would not have called you, had I not been sure of that. Besides, as I said, that kitten loves being pampered by all. It would appreciate another one who likes her" and smiled. Sometimes, she wonders that her feline is more vain than her. At the bow tie part though, she smiled sheepishly. Back then when she first got Sugar,Madi was worried that a collar would hurt the little one. And that was when she decided to give it a bow tie so as to differentiate it from being considered as a stray one. Though why anyone would consider her well groomed kitten as a stray was beside the point. "Yeah a bow tie, Sugar is pretty much used to it and now if I try to change, it wouldn't let me"she said smiling. Besides, a bowtie was apt for that little feline. It was a gift for sure and that bow tie made it all the more special.
At Kinsey's words about not singing in public, she nodded and said "oh okay totally understandable." Speaking the truth even Madi didn't get to sing in public, ever. Well, she can do it, she was not afraid, but can she capture the listener's attention? that on the other hand is questionable.

Kinsey shrugged when Madi apologized. "It's fine. I mean, I'm not upset about it or anything." And she definitely didn't want to make Madi feel uncomfortable around her. They walked in silence for a few moments before Madi answered her question, saying the one brother wrote her a letter recently, but that she hadn't heard from her other one in a while. "Have you sent him a letter?" Kinsey asked, then grimaced. "Sorry, you don't have to tell me. That's personal," she amended.
Madison said that she could meet Sugar and Kinsey smiled again. "She sounds adorable," Kinsey sighed. She liked animals. Normal animals, that was. Magical creatures? Not so much, but normal creatures were wonderful and she liked petting and playing with them, especially when they were little. Kittens and puppies were her favorites. "I might just show up one day at your common room asking to see Sugar," she warned Madison. Surely the gryffindor wouldn't mind, since she'd just invited Kinsey to see her kitten.
Kinsey smiled when Madi said it made sense that she didn't want to sing in public. "If no one's there but you and me though ..." she trailed off, the implication there. If they were alone, she would sing.
