[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] And if you feel you're sinking, I will jump right over [attr="class","itokaytext"] Madison was happy at the way things turned out for her. She was given the position of chaser, yes she was the Gryffindor chaser. She knew that she was more than capable of being one but she lost it to the previous one. But now that the other one stepped down from her position, Madi got the one thing she always wanted, to be the best. She was the princess after all and no one can tell her otherwise. Though, becoming the chaser of the team was the only good thing which happened to her in this year. She was a little stressed out with fact that it was her sixth year though it was never shown on her face, she couldn't let others know and it and it didn't help her that she missed many of her classes. Although she was not going to blame herself for not being able to make to the classes, she was quite distressed with the lack of letters from her brother. But now, she was happy to return back to the hustle and bustle of her life. She really had shut herself away from the whole world and it was good to be back to live as a normal teenage girl.
Madison was just returning back from her potions class when she came across the water puddle in the second floor corridor. She huffed at the sight in front of her, sometimes she wondered if Moaning Myrtle had no other work to do other than flood the corridors. She carefully tiptoed on her belles and made her way towards the bathroom door. Someone has to close the taps or else the whole castle will be dripping in water. She opened the door and came in face with someone who was not supposed to be there. Madi looked at the sight in front of her, she could not find out the reason for the presence of a boy in an unused girls bathroom. Unless he has been planning something mischievous or he was the one who caused this. She really hated sneaky brats and at that moment he was being one by going into the bathroom. The boy might be younger, but no one was going to do it and get away from her. And it would seem that the first year had a very good sense and ran away from there as fast as he could and all Madi could do was sigh. Retrieving her wand from her robes, she waved along shutting down the water taps. There was one tap which decided to spray her with a jet of water too. So now she was now wearing half wet robes, hair dripping from water, excellent sight for eyes thought Madison with a frown. And so she decided to leave the water as it was, hoping that it would go down the drain.
Sighing at the state of herself, Madi walked out of the bathroom. She just hoped that no one would see her at that moment. I mean, everyone would think that she was the one who made this mess. But luck was not on her side when she saw someones' shadow in the water. Cursing her luck, she looked up to see who it was.

It really didn't make sense why Edmund spent so much time walking along the second floor. Sure, it took him to some of his classes, but he always seemed to run into people outside moaning myrtles bathroom and he was starting to think that he needed to find a new route to use. Still, he was hoping that this time he wouldn't run into anyone.
Then, out of nowhere, this first year kid was running all around the place. "Hey, slow down," Edmund called, but the boy totally ignored him and Edmund rolled his eyes as he started moving forward, groaning when he noticed how wet the corridor was. His question now was ... did that first year have something to do with this or was it Myrtle?
He jumped when he saw someone else walking out of the bathroom. Why were so many people hanging out around here today? Then he recognized the girl. She was from gryffindor ... Madison? He wasn't sure so he wasn't going to use her name, but she looked miserable. He sighed and then moved to approach her. "Hey, are you alright?" he asked after a moment.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] I hope you know i won't let go [attr="class","itokaytext"]Madison could hear the footsteps of the first year who just ran away. He was going to pay for the mess he just created. Then again, since when did Madi decide to become the responsible person in this school? Oh right, because it involved a first year whom she could totally frighten. And what was the consequence of it? Anyone can see that whatever Madi was up to was anything but good.
As she walked outside, she could hear the voice of someone, a male calling out for the kid she thought. the voice, though it seemed vaguely recognized. And if she was not sure of the voice, then it mean only two things :one she might not have talked to him enough to remember who it was, or two : she just did not want to remember who it was. And looking up at the person who came by, Madi knew that he was the first type. She had never much interacted with him before, except may be see him around a few times. Though she did recognize who he was, Edmund Windsor. And before she knew it, he spoke to her.
Oh great, she thought 'a handsome guy decides to talk to me when I look this bad, excellent luck Madison Roberts'. Madi just sighed and said "i'm fine or at least I hope I am. I mean it's not that I am hurt or anything, but I am drenched in water all thanks to that first year kid whom you saw moments ago. He decided that it was a great idea to flood the bathroom and the corridor too, what was he thinking? Merlin help him the next time I see that twit" and then she realized that she has been going on with one of her rants, again. With a sheepish smile she said "right, sorry sheesh i was rambling too much. I mean here you were trying to know if I was alright or not and I am talking non stop, even now. Oh great I will just shut up now". Embarrass yourself in front of a guy, yes Madison you can tick it off from your bucket list, this incident definitely counts as one.

The girl looked rather annoyed and sopping wet and Edmund felt bad for her. She probably hadn't wanted to be wet, and her annoyed look combined with the hasty retreat of that first year kid made Edmund pretty sure that he knew who caused this. For a second he wondered if she'd want him to just leave, but he also didn't want to be rude so he asked his question. If she answered and seemed like she still wanted someone to talk to, he'd stay. If not ... he would probably leave.
When she did start talking, Ed couldn't help but let a small smile cover his face. He didn't know her hardly at all, wasn't even sure of her name, but this girl was talking. Maybe that's how she normally behaved or maybe she was just embarrassed, but it was a little entertaining. She confirmed his original thoughts about the first year kid and Edmund nodded, waiting for her to finish talking before making a comment. When she did stop, his smile widened a little. She was obviously embarrased, but he didn't want to make her feel that way. "Well, I don't know if you'll ever see him again. I think he might hide from you for the next few years until you graduate," Edmund responded with a small chuckle. "You should've seen the look on his face as he ran away." Hopefully she'd realize he was laughing at the kid and not at her. He didn't want to make anyone upset with him right now. He looked at her. "I think I know a spell that might help, if you don't mind," he offered, remembering the spell Jamie used to try them off that one time when they came in from the rain. That would be useful in situations like this as well as rainstorms, he decided.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] [attr="class","itokaytext"]
If Madison was good at anything, it was talking. And right now she was just wondering hope she ended up with such a trait. May be from her mother? Most probably cause that would make total sense. She was in front of a guy who was quite handsome she might add, but there she was making a fool out of herself, royally might she add. She was soaking wet and her mind is all cluttered with thoughts and the only thing she does is ramble. Well it was not as though she wouldn't talk any other time. But in front of strangers she usually tries get best to not scare them off. And considering that the guy in front of her was almost a stranger to her, she did a pretty good job of frightening him off, like forever. I mean of we not frightened, them may be be was thinking that she was a runaway from a mental asylum. Yeah, totally possible.
But to Madison's utter surprise, the guy was smiling and judging from his expression, he was amused by her. Great, she was a clown now. Bahhh this is ridiculous she thought. And at his comment about the first year, she nodded and said "he has good reason to stay away from me. But then again if he does, i mean stay away from me, i would become the bad witch. He would go around and tell the other first years about me and they would not talk to me. They'll think I'm bad, which I am not. Wait, do you think I'm bad for being angry at that guy? " she asked. As much as Madison hates it, she can never be angry for a long time at anyone. Not at all possible for her. As he mentioned about the look on the first year's face, Madi spoke up "oh. Bless Merlin. I have a first year who is afraid of me. What would he become if the headmistress or one of the professor's has caught him instead?" as she mused.
As the guy offered to help her by using a spell, she gave a nod and said "yeah sure. Thanks". But as she said it, she realized over thing which made her smack her forehead with her hand. "Why did I not think of that? And I'm utterly feeling ridiculous considering that charms is my favorite subject. Ughh just great, I should probably add forgetfulness next time some one asks about my weakness ". Looking up from her rant however made her realize once again that she was in company. Sighing a little, she said " if I didn't scare you with my talks by now, let me introduce myself I'm Madison, sixth year Gryffindor. And you are?" she asked. I mean she knows that he is from Hogwarts, the robes were a dead giveaway. But she did see his face a few times more than she cares to admit. But Madi couldn't remember his name. Was it Edward ? Or was it Ed.. If has to be something along that line as he heard someone call out to him as Ed. She just hoped that he wouldn't take offense for the fact that she didn't know who he was.

The girl started talking about the kid needing to stay away from her and then started rambling about him talking about her and everyone thinking she was a bad witch. Ed tried to hold back his smile and laugh, but only ended up holding back the laugh. He was smiling plainly at this girl, who was suddenly extremely worried about what the other first year students were going to think about her, then asking if he thought she was bad. Edmund shook his head, "I don't think you're bad, I just think you caught him doing something bad and it made him nervous. Also, if he ran away from you as fast as he ran away from me, I don't think he'll recognize you. So he'll probably end up telling his friends that he was almost caught by an older girl but ended up escaping with his life somehow," Edmund rolled his eyes, smiling. Kids had a tendency to make things up like that. "If a professor caught him, he would definitely have detention, and he probably would have lost some house points." Edmund answered her question easily.
Edmund smiled when she agreed to let him use the spell. He muttered the incantation and then grinned at her next reaction, berating herself for not thinking of that in the first place. "Well, you are the one who got all wet," he pointed out. "Sometimes it's hard to think clearly when you're in the middle of something. You're just fine." For some strange reason, this girl amused him. Normally running into people made Edmund wary and somewhat cynical, but her attitude was charming and he liked the way she couldn't seem to stop talking. "Nice to meet you Madison," Ed said, extending a hand to her out of habit. "I'm Edmund, but most people call me Ed, sixth year Slytherin." No wonder she was familiar, being in his same year. "So where were you headed before you got soaked?" He asked curiously.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] and i don't care what they say I'm gonna be with you [attr="class","itokaytext"] Madison looked up only to find the the other guy was smiling at her. Why was he doing that? "Why are you smiling at me? Do I look funny to you? Wait, I do look funny don't I? Ughh of course I am. I mean who would come across a girl in here with her robes drenched and is rambling like this" said Madi and slumped her shoulders. But she had to admit it, he looked much more nice when he smiled. All these times she has seen him at school, he always seemed to be serious and uptight. "You look good when you smile though, you should do it often" she said, voicing out her thoughts. Woah, back up Madison Roberts, you've known this guy for only a few minutes and shook her head at the mental thoughts. As he responded back to her earlier question, she listened on to him with interest, and in the end she said "well if that's the case then its fine. I mean if he does not remember me then that's a good thing right?" she frowned a little unsure of what to make of it further. As he answered her question again, she rolled her eyes and said "of course I know it. I was merely wondering what he would've done then. I'm not exec a prefect and he ran away from me, poor guy" she said with a chuckle.
The guy in front of her easily dried her wet robes and Madi felt at ease again. "Thank you. And thank Merlin for the drying charms. Or I would've have to walk in the castle with wet robes. Oh goodness that would've been quite the tale for people to talk about. I mean I like when people talk about me, but not like that" she said scrunching her face at the thought. "Yes, I was wet and all, but I shouldn't be so lost you know. And while I appreciate your help, I don't need a knight in shining armor every single time to save me. And who knows I won't have one I need" rambled on Madi as she wrapped her scarf round her neck neatly.
As the Slytherin introduced himself, Madison smiled "nice to meet you too" and shook his hand which he offered. And then all of a sudden she realized why she recognized him. He was freaking royalty. That made sense of why he was soo formal earlier. She was however quite impressed by his way. And mind you, not many can impress this stubborn gryffindor girl. "So Edmund Windsor right? I recognize you." Of course she was not going to bring up about him being royalty, who was she to talk about things like that. As he asked about her earlier destination, Madi put on a thoughtful face as she tried to think. Wait a second, why was she in this corridor? Oh right, she completed her Potions class. "I was headed no where in reality. I completed the Potions class and then I was making my way up and then saw this water puddle here and the rest is history. "

Edmund was surprised when the girl seemed to get angry, demanding to know why he was smiling at her. He shook his head, but she didn’t really give him the chance to explain himself. “I wasn’t laughing at you, and definitely not because you’re all wet,” he explained. “I just thought it was cute how concerned you were about the first year.” Wait. Did he just call her cute? Edmund paused, now feeling confused himself. He nodded when she told him he should smile more often. “Thanks,” Ed said slowly, not sure exactly how he should respond to that. “Yes, it’s a good thing. I’m positive the first years won’t all hate you because they won’t even know it was you,” he confirmed, hoping that would help her feel more comfortable. She seemed way out of her comfort zone. He shrugged about her comment about what the kid would have done if he’d run into a professor. Run … faster? No, he just wasn’t going to say anything.
“No problem,” Ed answered when the girl thanked him for drying her robes. “A friend showed me that a while ago, so it’s only fair to pass it along.” He was trying to keep himself from smiling yet again when she said that she wanted people to talk about her, but not like that. Then se started talking about how she could take care of herself and didn’t need a knight to save her every time. Edmund shrugged, “I think you’re perfectly capable of taking care of yourself, if that’s what you’re talking about.” Was it though? He couldn’t tell.
She shook his head, and then asked to make sure he was Edmund Windsor. Great. Then she said she recognized him. Ugh, even better. Ed was almost positive that she knew he was royalty now, but he was grateful that she wasn’t trying to talk about it. Most of the time he tried to ignore that part of himself, the royal part. He nodded slowly when she said she wasn’t going anywhere. “Well … we can go on a walk or something if you want to …” he suggested slowly and then felt like an idiot. Why was he offering to take a stranger on a walk? He didn’t know the girl at all.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] We keep on coming back for more [attr="class","itokaytext"] As he answered back, Madi felt a smile grow on her face, "well if that's the case, sorry"she added sheepishly. Sometimes she really should let others do the talking. And for once, she was totally caught off-guard when he said she was cute. Not that she wasn't used to compliments or anything, but to get it from someone whom she barely just met, yeah very surprising. She did not know how to respond to that. I mean was she suposed to just say thanks, or was she supposed to skip it like she hadn't heard it at all. And in the end, she just blurted out "I was concerned a little yeah" and she was pretty much sure that her face would have been a shade of pink by now. And as usual Madison spoke out what was on her mind, without even bothering to think. And as a result, the poor guy in front of her had been left a little offended or was it confusion? She never did know that. "Yeah, they don't me, so no troubles" and breathed a sigh of relief. She never liked the fact of how people could not like each other. And she was much more intelligent than how she is behaving at the moment. But then again, getting hit by water did not help her. And may be there was some sort of mind numbing potion in it? Nah, she wasn't completely dumb or anything. She was just caught off-guard was all.
At the way the other guy acted, Madi liked him pretty much. He wasn't like the others who were all boasting, and by this time they would have rubbed about her situation on her face and would make a big show of helping her. Crazy guys, but here was this slytherin who was soo modest. He was not boasting in fact he seemed to be sweet, and his expressions, they were rather cute if she was true. Sweet Circe, did she just think that the guy was sweet and cute in the same sentence? Oh Merlin save her, she thought. Usually Madi is quite the witch to enjoy her time around with the guys, but once in a while she does fall for a few. And when she does, she falls hard for him. That was the way she was. And she really hoped that this would not be a tale like before. No need for repeatition she thought. She gave a smile and said "well whoever that frind is, I bet they are quite good at charms. Am I coorect?"asked Madi with a smile. Madi had a few names in her mind as she said it, but then again she didn't know every single friend of her friends. it was just too much to remember. Besides, in a school full of students, there are a lot of people who are friends, and enemies with each other. It was just that simple. No use trying to remember who is a friend of whose. All those politics were never her forte. "Oh dear, yes I ma capable of saving myself. But look at what happened today, I knew the spell, I have my wand, but I just couldn't even think of drying my robes. It was as though my mind was frozen. I don't want that to happen any other time."she explained her earlier words. She did not know what he might've understand from her previous rambling, but she wanted to make that clear. It would be a shame if they minunderstand each other.
And all of a sudden he popped the offer of walking with him. She was rather suprised by it all, but as they say, you should not turn down an offer when it is with a guy who just helped you out. And so she spoke "since I don't have any other place to go to, I would like to accompany you" she said with a smile. And then she has her own doubts, why was he asking to walk with her? Didn't they just meet? Was he being formal in offering? Was she supposed to accpet it or not? Her mind exploded with ideas and thoughts at the same time. And then immediately she added, "only if you want me to come. You are not obligated to ask me"she said, her eyes not quite looking at him. She knew that not many seem to enjoy her company and while she wouldn't let it bother her much, some times it definitely felt bad.

Edmund smiled and shrugged when she apologized. He didn't really want to make her apologize to him, that wasn't his goal. He was just in a good mood and trying to be nice. It wasn't always particularly easy for him, but for the first time in a while he felt like he was doing pretty good throughout the entire conversation, and not just at the end. She was blushing and Edmund wasn't exactly sure why so he just smiled and looked away, trying to give her a moment to compose herself. "I think you'll be just fine," he agreed, feeling like if he just kept on smiling and nodding she'd think he went mute or something.
She asked if his friend was good at charms and Edmund's eyebrows furrowed a little as he thought. Was Jamie good at charms? Honestly, he had no idea. She was a Hufflepuff and a year ahead of him, so why should he know. He shrugged his shoulders, "Honestly, I have no idea. We're not super close friends, we were just skipping rocks in the lake during a rainstorm one day." Wow, did that just sound weird to him? Granted, at the time he really enjoyed it, but he wondered if Jamie thought it was strange. Then she started rambling again and Edmund couldn't help but smile. He hoped she didn't get offended. He liked her tendency to talk a lot. He gave a small chuckle. "Well, I'm sure that happens to all of us, Madison." He didn't really have anything else to say, but hoped that comforted her.
She smiled at him, saying she would like to go with him and Edmund smiled. He wasn't sure if she wanted to walk with him or if she was just going because he asked, but it was nice to have someone to walk with, at least for a little while. He rolled his eyes when she talked about only coming if he wanted her. "I wouldn't have invited you if I didn't want you to come. I just like to go outside and get some fresh air, but that's always more fun if you have someone to talk to." Really, walking on your own wasn't as good as it was cracked up to be. At least, not when you're Edmund and you have too many annoying thoughts in your head.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] I can't remember to forget you.. [attr="class","itokaytext"] Madison nodded her head and decided to stop worrying about the younger boy. If he did remember her then she would have to deal with in her style. That would mean, lots of talking and convincing that he has got it and wrong and she would probably add a threat or two casually. Yes, casually, she can do that easily and could pull it off easily. "Yeah I will be, I'm just probably worrying about nothing" as she admitted sheepishly to him.
Madison have a nod at his words as he mentioned his friend. Well it was not as though she actually wanted to know. While she was interested to know before, right now she didn't even know what she would've done with that information. May be she could drag that person into the charms club? Who knows. And as he told that they weren't super close, Madi have a happy smile. Wait right there Madison Roberts you're not supposed to feel happy for such shall things, her mind chided her. Sighing internally, she tried to concentrated on his eyes just enough to listen to him talk about skipping rocks. Who does that in this lake? she thought with a thoughtful face. "Wouldn't the giant squid mind you throwing I mean skipping stones?" Before anyone decides to name her as a creature loving person please back track. She actually is afraid of them and would do everything possible to stay away from them.
There it was again, why was he smiling at her?!?!! She couldn't figure it out, wait was be thinking that she was being cute with all her talking? But then again she wasn't talking because he thought about her like that. She was a naturally a talkative person and hoped that he could understand it. She doesn't like it if others name her as an attention seeker with her talking. While she does enjoy the attention, and sometimes she would actively seek it, but she never did it by talking on and on. In fact that is not the tactic she ever uses to try and get others attention on her. Ughh, she was once again getting carried away with her conversations. She shook her head a little to try and control her internal thoughts. And she was able to stop her thoughts just in time to hear him speak again. She nodded at his words and said "yeah I guess. I was just caught off guard I guess". Though she said it, Madi decided to think about it later and make sure that these situations would not happen again.
As he mentioned that he only asked her because he wanted hee to come, Madi smiled. "Well it was silly of me to ask" and grinned. And with a smile she spoke again "well if that's the case, I would love to have a walk with you" and gestured him forward. As he mentioned that having company is fun, she nodded and said "you don't see me disagreeing to it. I hate silence and would rather spend time with a stranger than alone. " For a moment, she remained silent and slowly realized that her words might have been taken in a bad way and she spoke again "I mean to say that having someone would be a lot better. I didn't mean to say that you're a stranger. I mean you're not my friend either, and not a stranger too. I have seen you at school a lot of robes, so you wouldn't count as a stranger." And when she realised that she was going to go on into one of her infamous rants she stopped, and said "oops, sorry. I got carried away. I've spoken a lot and it would be a shame if I don't get to listen to you speak.' And with a thoughtful smile she spoke "wait a second, do you play quidditch? I think may be I saw you at one of the game" and wondered if her guess was correct or wrong.

Edmund smiled when the girl said that she was probably worrying about nothing. Good. That meant that she should be able to get past it and not worry about it later. He nodded. "You'll be fine," he reiterated confidently. He didn't want her to doubt that.
At her question about the giant squid, Edmund looked at the girl curiously. He'd never thought of that before and was pretty sure that the surprise was plain on his face. He gave a short laugh. "I don't know. The squid hasn't ever reacted when I skip rocks," he responded thoughtfully. "And I do it quite frequently ..." he trailed off, thinking about it before shrugging. "I'll probably continue doing it unless someone tells me to stop or the squid attacks," Ed added with a wry smile. Honestly, he just loved skipping rocks too much to really stop.
She seemed self-conscious, which was a shame because Edmund was actually quite enjoying this conversation with her. He shrugged. "It's not a big deal. You were soaking wet. It makes sense that you were caught off guard," Edmund reasoned. He doubted most people would have thought to use a charm when they were soaking and still annoyed at a first year and then ran into someone else.
When she agreed to go on a walk with him, Edmund smiled again and started walking. He was surprised at how much he was smiling with her, but he was also enjoying it. It was nice for him to just let his problems go and relax for a little bit. Making a new friend wasn't a half-bad thing either. She agreed when he said it was fun to be with someone and then inadvertently called him a stranger. Edmund didn't mind, of course, since they were practically strangers, but her reaction when she realized what she said was hilarious. He clenched his teeth to try and keep himself from smiling as she began to ramble again, but the corners of his lips turned up. She realized what she was doing and forced herself to stop and Ed fought to keep control of himself. Once he was sure he wasn't going to burst out laughing, he turned to look at her. "I don't mind you getting carried away," he explained with a shrug. "It's sweet and funny." He smiled to show that he wasn't upset and hoped that she wouldn't be upset either.
She asked about Quidditch and Edmund nodded, "Yeah, I'm a chaser for the Slytherin team," he explained. He loved Quidditch. When he was flying, Edmund felt more confident than he normally did when he was doing anything else in the magical world. "Aren't you a chaser on the Gryffindor team?" He asked. Ed might not be good at knowing people, but he did know quidditch players.

Madison nodded at his words and chose not to extend that part, she was not going to be think about it anymore. And that was partially truth, but now that she had company, it would hold good. If she were alone at that time, she would've been moping about the whole thing for a very long time. Until someone decides to have mercy on her and snap her out of it. And Madison was glad for the distraction in the form of giant squid. At his answer, she nodded and said well, it might've not minded you I guess"and another thought occurred to her as she thought, "or may be your stones didn't reach it's lair"she added with a shrug of her shoulders. Either one seemed to be plausible enough. She had to admit he was quite different, after all not many would go near the lake because of the squid and he was ready to go and skip rocks. "Well, I'm sure that the squid won't attack you. I have never heard of such a thing occur before". But that didn't stop Madi from worrying about the giant creature underneath the lake so much that she wouldn't go near it alone.
When the slytherin put it put in front of her, Madison just shrugged her shoulders and said "I guess so". Though you can tell that she was not going to leave it behind. But for that moment she decided to forget it and just enjoy the company she has. And then as they began to walk, Madi being who she was, once again started to talk. She could never figure out how people could get their thoughts and words in simple sentences, whereas she takes up a lot of sentences which usually make her ramble. One thought after another keeps popping up into her mind and she just has the urge to get them all out. And she cannot understand how people can control the time they speak and some even don't talk much. How can a person possibly live like that? As he admitted that he didn't mind her ramblings, she gave a sigh of relief. Thank Merlin she didn't drive this person up the wall with all her talks. "Well I am glad that you don't mind. Because eve if I tried, I just can't convey my thoughts in simple and few words. I don't understand how other do that."As he mentioned that she found her cute and funny, she looked at him wondering if he was making fun of her. And when she found that he was just smiling, and she gave a smile in return and said "I think you're among the very few who think so".Many thought of her as a nuisance and a chatterbox, and some downright ignore her.
When be mentioned that he was a chaser, she had on a triumphant smile as she spoke "that explains why your face was familiar. But then again I would not recognise you easily off pitch without all the helmet and such. " As he asked about her, she gave a nod and said "yes I am the chaser. I have played against you, bit I guess I was much too concentrate on how to her the quaffle back rather than who has the quaffle" she admitted. And she was not at all guilty about it, because when it came to quidditch Madison is very much serious and only focuses on winning.

Edmund smiled as Madison started giving reasons why the giant squid might not have attacked. He hadn't ever heard of the creature coming out to attack people for throwing rocks, or for doing anything else either. People went swimming, boating, and probably did all sorts of shenanigans in the Lake and he'd never heard of the giant squid responding in a bad way. He shrugged at her suggestions. "Probably something like that." Then he smirked, "Or it's sleeping down there and as long as I don't hit it with a rock, it won't care how many I skip." He was teasing her now, but Ed couldn't help it. He was in a good mood today, for reasons unknown to him.
Madison started to explain that she was glad he didn't mind her continuous chatter because she couldn't restrain herself even if she wanted to and he nodded and smiled. "Don't even worry about it," he told her with a firm nod. He rolled his eyes when she said that she thought he was one of the only people who thought positively of her. "I doubt it. They probably just are in their own bad moods and take it out on you," he said, then thinking of himself. "That's what I normally do," he confessed without thinking. Dang it, he hadn't meant to say that. Ed looked away nervously, clearing his throat.
Edmund was smiling again at the conversation about Quidditch. He loved the game and having someone to talk to about it was nice, especially since they weren't actually playing this year. He nodded when she said she wouldn't recognize him without all his gear on. "I know. I made an effort to make sure I know who all the players are in the school," Edmund explained. "I'm not too good at names and faces though, so I wasn't entirely sure." He nodded, "I'm the same way. On the pitch I wouldn't realize which chaser you are. I'm too focused on the game." Edmund paused for a moment. "I've missed playing this year," he confessed.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Josefin Sans"] What if we looked and fall behind and then never found [attr="class","itokaytext"]At Edmund's words, she gave a small laugh and said "yeah may be it is sleeping" and in her mind she added 'hope it always does'. She always feared the squid and part of the reason why she stayed a little away from the lake. "And I'm sure you can skip your rocks" she said with a smile. It was not a weird hobby by any means, considering that everyone would've done it at one pint or another in their time as a kid. But she could never get the stones to skip, they always plunged into the water. And considering that she knew what lived in the black lake, she never even tried it while at Hogwarts.
At his words of reassurance, wait reassurance.. nope that was not what he was doing, okay may be he was making her feel better, which worked. Surprise ,surprise she can feel better thought Madi internally. She just smiled at him and said "thanks". And as he mentioned about people taking out their bad moods on her, she just sighed and looking down at the ground, she said "well can't blame them" and before she even had the chance to continue he spoke up saying that it was what he does. Madison looked away from the floor and towards his direction and saw his nervousness or at least that was what he looked like to her from his behavior. "Oh" that was all Madi could utter out, and even beyond that she did not know what to say to him. What was he supposed to say to the person who just confirmed that he too takes out his bad emotions on someone, nah she has never been the one to be able to know about emotions and stuff. After all she was ever the optimist remember!
As the talk was abut quidditch, Madison no longer felt awkward or her thoughts from earlier bothered her much. She nodded at his words, and truth be told she kind of felt bad that she does not take that much into account when she is off the pitch. As far as Madi was concerned the game was a way to enjoy herself and usually she did not pay much to who else was on the game. All she ever notices was who has the quaffle and how to get it back. That was the way she worked. "Me on the other hand still needs to work on mapping the names with faces, though I swear that I know the name of each and every player, just not who they are and how they look"she said with a small laugh, and continued " all I can hear are names during the commentary and on our jersey's when we play". As he mentioned missing the game, she nodded and said "honestly speaking, I miss the game soo much that I am feeling rather bored, and add in the fact that I dropped a few subjects after my owls, so more free time. Sometimes I just fly around, but there is nothing that beats the adrenaline rush we feel while playing quidditch, is it not?"she asked at last wanting to know what he would say. And Madison could talk and talk about that game all day and all night without breaking a sweat.
