The girl was begging now, which was rather pathetic, Adonia thought. "Rosie, Rosie," she cooed, "lift up your hand and wipe that blood off your face," she said firmly. Rosie's stance wasn't that bad, but it needed serious work. "Hold your wand a little lower. You're not aiming for the stars," the girls aim wasn't THAT high, obviously, but it was still too high. She'd probably go over Adonias head. "Now, say an attack spell you remember. You want me to get out of your way, right?" she held her hands out to both sides, "get me out of your way. Come on, just do it. You have to mean it."In all reality, she really was doing this girl a favor. She needed to learn to fight, especially since people had been dying left and right in England. She needed to find a way to protect herself, didn't she? rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie wished on everything that was that she could be anywhere else. That someone would hear and come to her aid. A part of her hated that she felt that she needed someone to come and rescue her, but it was the reality. She wasn't strong, emotionally or physically. She didn't really want to be. For the most part she kept herself out of drama or dangerous situations but in times like this, especially when she really knew it was her own fault, she resented it.
Rosie did as she was told and wiped the blood from her face, however, that didn't necessarily stop the flow. Rosie lowered her wand hand and tried her best to keep it steady, however she knew the shaking was visible and obvious. She thought back to the five years of defensive training that she had been forced to sit though. Rosie was always at the bottom of the class. Her spells, if they were successful, only ever managed to remain for a few seconds before they bounced off of the target, useless. "St-Stupefy." she stuttered out loudly and harshly, but without confidence in what she was saying. The word tasted weird in her mouth and she hated hearing herself say it. Rosie would never hurt a fly. Even with her fear of spiders she was never able to kill them, she would simply remove herself from the situation.

The blood didn't stop, and that was fine by Adonia for now. She just wanted to see the girl at least attempt to pull herself together. Adonia waited, and of course Rosie chose the oldest one in the book. The light fluttered toward Adonia but sputtered out before reaching her. Adonia clicked her tongue three times, shaking her head, "well, perhaps you need to work on offense instead. You know Protego, I assume," the shield charm. "Try using it to block me. Ready?" She gave the girl a few seconds before firing, "Levicorpus!" This spell was designed to yank the victim up by the ankles and lift them into the air, hanging them upside down. Maybe the girl would produce a shield to block it. Then again... Maybe not. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie wasn't surprised when her spell failed, but a small part of her had thought that maybe Adonia would let her go for at least trying. Rosie was so confused about the context of this fight. The girl said she was trying to help her, but to Rosie it seemed like anything but help. She listened as Adonia told her try the shield charm. Rosie had learned it during her 5th year but again, she hadn't tried it since and she barely tried it then. Rosie had no idea what was coming at her, and she wasn't even sure if she remembered the wand motion for the spell, or was there even a wand motion? When she heard Adonia cast her spell, Rosie felt her heart beating fast in her chest and tried to stutter out, "Protego," but she knew that she was too late when she felt herself lift off the ground. Rosie took short, gasp-y breaths as she hung there, seeing the world from upside down. She still held tight to her wand, though it continued to fail her.

The girl failed, unsurprisingly and Adonia pouted at her upside down face. "Now, now. We are really going to have to work on that, Rosie. Don't worry!" she slowly started walking forward, "I'll teach you everything you need to know." She reached the girl and reached up her non wand and, gently wiping at the blood on Rosies face to try and move it aside, but really it just smeared on Rosies cheek. "Reds a good look on you," she muttered, using her finger to wipe some of the blood on Rosies lips, as if it was lipstick. Then she leaned in even more, using her wand to lower Rosie's face to her level. Without saying anything, she followed her instinct and closed the gap between their faces completely by planting a kiss on those bloody lips. Then, after a moment, she pulled away, laughing. Even tossing her head back with the laugh. She wiped off her own mouth and flicked her wand, letting Rosie fall to the floor. She sighed, "okay, okay. One more time. Stand up, if you can, or you can just try to block me from there. Try Expelliarmus, the disarming charm," she bent down for a moment, looking at Rosies face, "you can do this kid. I really believe in you," and she really, really did That was the odd part. She really thought that with the right training this girl could grow up. Maybe not in one night. "I'll give you a minute to prepare yourself," she said, taking a few steps back again. Whether Rosie stood or not, Adonia fired again once she thought the girl was ready. "Tarantallegra." This spell would cause Rosies legs to dance uncontrollably. Which, is a pretty innocent thing. Unless Rosie was seriously hurt by that fall, in which case the spell could be very, very painful. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie felt her whole body shiver and freeze up when Adonia began walking close to her. Rosie felt her world collapse around her. She flinched at the touch of the only person that she had ever thought she hated. She couldn't believe she had previously thought that this girl was sweet and that they had a great conversation. Her simple night of homework had turned into the first time in her life that she had experienced true fear and desperation. The taste of blood on her lips made her cringe and the sudden feel of Adonia's lips pressed against hers stopped her breath. Rosie screamed and tried to push her off before she finally began walking away from the poor little Hufflepuff.
Rosie fell to the floor with an audible thunk, landing with her right leg twisted behind her and she was fairly sure she heard something snap, but it could have been in her head. She tried to stand, but found herself unable to do so. Her right leg burned with pain just below her knee and sent painful tingles up her entire body when she tried to move it put any weight on it. She curled her fingers around her wand just as the girl turned herself back around and fired her spell. Rosie once again felt herself forcibly lifted off the ground and felt unbearable pain course though her body, her nerves felt like they were on fire. "EXPELLIARMUS!" the girl shouted in a desperate attempt to get relief and maybe a little redemption.

The girls screams were pointless, up here in this tower. Someone way down on the grounds might have heard, but it would take them a long time to get up here. When the girl shouted the spell, however, Adonias wand started to slip from her fingers. She reached across with her other hand to catch it, laughing. "Wow! You actually did it!" she said, though it wasn't enough to completely toss her wand aside. "One more thing," she said. She stepped up to the girl and muttered the counter curse to the dancing legs, and then cupped the girls chin with her hand. "In order to make it through a duel, you need to learn that pain," she suddenly kicked Rosie in the leg, the one that was clearly broken, "is just weakness leaving the body," her voice was softer now, as if she was consoling the girl. "So, let that weakness go, and then you'll be a better fighter," she said, before slamming her hand against Rosies broken nose. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie just wanted this to end. She was miserable and was pretty sure there were tears streaming down her face. Her eyes burned with exhaustion and despair and stung from the salty tears, she could only imagine how red they were and how she looked, outer appearance wasn't something that was overly important to her, but she couldn't only imagine how twisted her face appeared now, covered in blood and tears. She was as surprised as Adonia was when her spell worked, as weak as it was. However, her hope seemed to be shattered when Adonia regained access to her wand and stepped back over to Rosie who had collapsed back to the ground. Rosie tried to hold back her screams as the woman kicked her broken leg, the pain and numbing sensation was starting to make her light headed and she began to slip into tunnel vision. Rosie heard the girls words as more of an echo and she managed to whisper, "I don't want to be a fighter," before the force of Adonia's hand hitting her already broken face seemed to be enough to slip Rosie into unconsciousness. The girl felt her eyes cloths slowly and she fell back onto the cold stone of the tower floor, her head hitting the ground hard as she did so.

She didn't want to be a fighter. Well, then the girl would be dead once the war got more serious. If she thought she could hide forever, she was kidding herself to no end. The girl passed out, though, before Adonia could comment. She sighed, "well, that was fun," she noted, nodding her head. She pointed her wand at her own arm and cut a huge gash down it, as well as smearing some of her own blood on her face and neck. That should do it. She cast a body bind on the girl and then the flotation spell to float Rosie in front of her. As soon as she saw an adult Adonia put on a look of panic. "Excuse me! We need help!" she called, rushing toward them "We- we were practicing some defensive and offensive spells when we lost control. Trying things that were too advanced, really," she frowned, faux tears welling up in her eyes. The Professor didn't look entirely like they believed her, but they got them to the hospital wing first and foremost. Adonia was released within an hour, though she had to talk to two more Professors to explain 'what happened'. Basically, her story was half true. She was teaching Rosie how to fight and believed Rosie could block spells that she actually couldn't, causing Rosie to get far more hurt than she intended. She claimed she just had too much faith in Rosies ability to early on, and said she felt terrible about it. Rosie would be in the hospital wing longer, but Adonia was planning to be there when she was awake. rose harriet granger-weasley(the end!)
