Rosie was nearly exhausted after the day that she had. She woke up in Dublin and here she was, somewhere in Scotland, walking down a grand, marble staircase towards the Hufflepuff Common Room escorted by an older year who was being very nice. Rosie was shown the way into the room and felt like the understood what to do. Everything about this place seemed so crazy and surreal. All of her mothers stories were making sense now and she was finally putting images to them. She loved it. She was absolutely in love with the castle.
Rosie crawled into the common room and again was instantly in awe. So many good things had been happening to her all day, starting with meeting wonderful people on the train who would now be her roommates, and now ending with entering her common room and being rushed with the overwhelming feeling that she belonged. All of her nerves went away and she felt comfortable.
Rosie scanned the room and smiled seeing all of the friends catching up, everyone around her was smiling, no one seemed upset or sad or mad. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and happy. Rosie's eyes stopped on a girl in the corner. "Thalia?" she asked, walking over towards the girl. "Hi! How are you? I saw you at the sorting, I'm so glad we're in the same house! And it looks like we're roommates too! Isn't that perfect?!" she and Thalia had known each other before coming to the school. Both of their families were into Quidditch and they had been so several matches together.

I'll be there for you Like I've been there before I'll be there for you 'Cause you're there for me too Thalia wood was now officially a hufflepuff. It was quite a surprise for her to eb sorted into the house of badgers. Being born into a family who have had members sorted into gryffindor, she kind of expect to be in the same house. But well, the sorting hat decided that Thalia was more f loyal and kindred spirit than a brave one. She was brave, but loyalty was more in her which lead her to become a puff. She wondered what her parents would say. And it would seem that their family had attracted quite a lot of attention, because she recieved quite a number of looks while on train which double over, when the professor called out by her full name 'Thalia Bridgette Wood'. Yeah, state the name and people would stare. But luckily it would seem that she was not the only celebrity that year and quite a few familiar names echoed throughout the sorting. And by the end of the feast, she was once again a mere 11-year old first year student. Thalia dragged herself from the heavy meal she just had and walked behind the prefect who was talking. Well, rules and Thalia usually don't mix, so she took the time to look around the whole place. Considering that both of her parents were in gryffindor, they have never been to the lower part of the castle except for classes. So Bri took the time to look around and remember. But then again she would forget by tomorrow considering that she has been yawning over and over in the past few minutes. And after seem like walking for an eternity, they reached their common room. It was warm and cozy and Bri immediately felt like at home. During the sorting ceremony she noticed hone of her friends, Rosie and now that they have reached the common room she wondered where the other girl was. You see, Rosie and Thalia knew each other ever since they were kids. Rosie's mom and her parents all went to school together though they were in different years and houses. And even then they knew each other. As time passed, Rosie's mom, auntMrs Williams became a quidditch commentator, their parents were playing professionally. And hence these two girls met quite often at those matches. Since they both were only child to their parents, they enjoyed each others company a lot. And when she saw that Rosie was sorted into hufflepuff like her, Thalia was glad to know one other person in this place where she would be for the next seven years. Even if she won't have any other friends, she would have Rosie. But considering how Thalia was, she owwuld make new friends eventually. And as Thalia stood in the corner of the common room suddenly overwhelmed with the amount of people surrounding her she heard a familiar voice, Rosie. Looking to where the voice cam from, Bri waved and smiling she spoke "Hello Rosie, I am fine, how are you? You know the usual, mom cried and so did dad. Can you imagine ? I wonder what they will say when they know I am a puff rather than in gryffindor like them. How're your parents? " When it came to Rosie, Thalia was quite free and talkative and more expressive, I mean she was the only person Thalia gets to talk to more often. And she loved the other girl's company a lot. "I could not see you in the train, and yes I am super happy that we are in the same house." Thalia was just as excited as the other girl. Juliet's first day at Hogwarts was shaping up to be one of the best days of her life. After meeting two new friends during the train ride, Juliet got to see the famous Hogwarts castle for the first time. She was soon sorted into Hufflepuff, along with her friends, and she could not be happier about it. Once she learned the traits of the Hufflepuff house, she was honestly not very surprised at the outcome of her sorting, but that did not make the moment when the enchanted hat shouted "HUFFLEPUFF!" any less thrilling.
Now, Juliet was exploring her house's common room. The natural look of the room was exactly Juliet's style, and she was just thinking that she would call her father to tell him about it when she remembered that wizards sent letters with owls instead of using phones. The Wizarding World was so strange, but she would get used to it eventually.
Juliet noticed her friend, Rosie, in a corner of the common room chatting with someone Juliet recognized as another first year sorted into Hufflepuff. Juliet bounced over to them just in time to hear the other first year girl asking, "Did you meet any new people while on the train?"
"Yeah, did you?" Juliet giggled, looking at Rosie. Juliet then turned to the girl who she had not yet introduced herself to. "I'm Juliet. What's your name?"rose harriet granger-weasley @kyles2

Rosie was so excited to see Thalia again, they always had such a great time together when they saw each other. And Rosie's mom was friends with both of Thalia's parents from their school days so they got to see each other often. "Mum didn't really get emotional, I think she was just too excited. She told me so many stories." Rosie said, though a part of her wondered if her mother got emotional after the train pulled away. Rosie hadn't seen her mother after she boarded the train because she didn't find a seat until after it was already moving. "Mum said she thought that I would be a Hufflepuff." Rosie admitted and she never minded the idea of not being in her mothers house. Of course, up until this evening, she didn't really see what the big deal was.
Rosie was just about to tell her childhood friend about the two other girls that she met on the train when one of them ran up to her. She had been wondering where the two got off to, she lost them in the hustle of everyone leaving the great hall after the feast. "I did, Juliet was one of them. And there's another girl called Jamie who is our roommate too." she said with a huge smile on her face. Rosie had friends, of course in her grammar school, however, none that she had lived with. She would be able to live with her best friends. She instantly began thinking of past sleepovers with giggling girls up late and so many sweets. She was over the moon with excitement and glee.

I'll be there for you Like I've been there before I'll be there for you 'Cause you're there for me too A part of Thalia was glad to have some one familiar in the sea of new faces. Never been one to have had any interactions while as a kid, she was slightly over whelmed with all this. Sure she was not terrified or anything, but this was all just soo new to her. She had never been in the presence of these many people whom she didn't know. While she has been to many quidditch games and such, she never had to know them all. They were all just strangers to her. But these people who were around her, they were her house mate and his father once said to her, 'your house is your family'. But was she ready to accept these as her family? Thalia didn't know. But she sure was happy to have Rosie with her. May be they can get through with this together. As Rosie spoke about her mom, Thalia gave a grin. "Yeah she would be very excited that you're here " said the Raven haired girl. You see, Rosie's mom was a witch and went to Hogwarts, but her dad on the other had was a muggle. Not that Thalia felt any difference in Rosie's dad except that he couldn't do magic. He was the same as her dad when it came to how they are. As Rosie admitted that her mom expected her house sorting, Thalia felt oddly out of place. While she and her parents were close, the topic of houses never even came up. May be they had expected all along that she would also be a gryffindor like them ? But now what would they say ? Soo many thoughts and questions. " It would seem that Miss Williams was right after all" said Thalia as she grinned. Don't ask her why, but even after all this time she still calls Rosie's mom as Mrs.Williams. As Thalia asked the other girl about having met anyone else, the answer came from a new girl. A first year she recognized from the sorting. After all Thalia had to wait a very long time to get sorted what with her last name being Wood. And then the girl introduced herself asking about her. "Nice to meet you Juliet, I'm Thalia" As Rosie mentioned another girl, Thalia just nodded her head and said "yeah I remember her". But there was also something else she thought about the other girl which was familiar when she saw her at the sorting. What was it? thought Thalia. Ughh, never mind, she would think about it later. Turning to the two girls she have huge smile and asked "who's interested to see the dorm room?"MADE BY VEL OF GS

Juliet smiled widely as Thalia introduced herself. "Nice to meet you too!" she said. Even though she wouldn't admit it, being surrounded by so many other students, especially those who were much older than her, did make Juliet slightly nervous, but her nerves were calmed somewhat by the fact that almost everyone in Hufflepuff she had met so far had been kind to her.
When Thalia asked if they wanted to check out the dorm room, Juliet almost bounced upwards in excitement. "Definitely! Hey, do you think they brought our stuff to our rooms yet?" she added as an afterthought. Well, there was only one way to find out. Juliet began walking to the dorm rooms and gestured to Rosie and Thalia to follow.rose harriet granger-weasley @kyles2

Rosie was so happy to see these two girls getting along so well. She loved meeting friends and she was so excited when her friends all became friends. She hadn't had a lot of friends. In primary school a lot of the kids thought that she was weird and different, and she was. But here, she wasn't. Here she was normal. At least, as normal as anyone else. It had only been a handful of hours and she had already made great friends. Friends that she trusted. "Yeah! I want to go see!" Rosie was excited to be seeing the place that she would be living for the next 7 years. She was excited to unpack and decorate her dorm and make it cozier. However, it already felt so homey. Rosie rushed off with the two other girls to find their room.

So let's hold on together To this paper and this pen And write down every letter To every word we've ever said Thalia had never had a chance to make new friends while she was younger, and now that she was at Hogwarts, she decided to rectify that. And that meant that she would talk to people and considering that they were all new here, she didn't feel like a lone bear. Besides, she was far too excited to even bother that her friend had found another girl to talk to. But that was besides the point. Thalia was not the over possessive kind, so she was pretty good at sharing. She smiled back at Juliet and when the girl asked about their stuff, Thalia nodded and said "they would've reached by now"confirming the girls' thoughts. She would've wondered the same thing had it not been for her bugging her parents to give out the details of their first time to the school. So she did know quite a few things about the castle beforehand, which was a good thing considering that they would not want to get lost in the huge castle. As they made their way up, Thalia spoke up "the first one to reach would get to choose first"and grinned. She knew that they wold be fair to each other, but that did not mean that they would not have fun. After all this place was where they would be staying in for the coming seven years, and these girls would be the ones she would be sharing her space with, might as well start bonding and have fun together. She did remember that as the time passes by she would've more friends, but at this moment, she only cared about the two girl with her. As she reached their dorm room, Thalia gave a soft whistle as she looked around the place they would be spending their time in, and said this is perfection. And it feels like home already". Juliet hurried to the dorm room alongside her two new friends, not even bothering to hide the excitement on her face. "Wow," she murmured as she entered the dorm room for the first time. She could not have thought of a better place in the castle to live in. Everything about it, from the warm colors to the blooming plants, seemed inviting. "I love it!" she said, a bit louder this time. She then grabbed her suitcase and plopped it onto one of the beds near a window. "I call this one," she grinned as she began unpacking her countless schoolbooks.rose harriet granger-weasley @kyles2

Rosie was completely in love with their dorm and as soon as the three of them entered the room, the smile on her face grew even larger. There was rarely a time when Rosie didn't have a smile on her face. She was a very happy child and was having an entirely magical day. Her resting face was a friendly smile, her focused face was a smile, she had even been told by her parents that she often smiled in her sleep. Rosie liked to see the good in the world, that was obvious, but she always felt like if she put a smile out into the universe, she'd get a smile back, and for the most part, it worked out.
Rosie's mother had of course explained her to how most of Hogwarts worked and she was well versed in what to expect, but there was only so much her mom could tell her about dorm rooms and common rooms since she had only been into the Ravenclaw common room herself. Rosie had been sorted into Hufflepuff and from what her mother told her, it was a vastly different space. It was so cozy and warm and a small, quaint fireplace sat in the corner made of stone and brick. The bed spread all looked hand knitted and the pillows sported cute lacy cases. Rosie flopped down on the bed near Juliet and felt how soft the mattress was. She already couldn't wait to crawl into bed tonight. She could just picture the four of them sitting on each others beds talking and gossiping and laughing well into the night the sweets being passed around and smiles on everyone's faces. "This is so lovely! Imagine how much fun we're going to have here?" she gave a dream-like sigh.

I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU LIKE I'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU 'CAUSE YOU'RE THERE FOR ME TOO Juliet was the first to actually claim her bed, which jerked Thalia out of her own thoughts. This place was just perfection in her eyes and whatever doubts she had prior about her sorting were now cleared. She knew that her house should make her feel like home and that was how she felt at that moment. And now it was Thalia's turn to select one bed for herself. She looked around and with a smile she said "I am having this one" she said as she threw her robe on the bed which was beside Juliet and on the other side of the window. She did not have any requirement to be near the window, but she still wanted to have her bed near to it. And it was not as though she would be with unknown people, she had Juliet on one side and some other girl to her other. And considering that Rosie took the one near Juliet and as much as she wanted to be with Rosie, she did not want Juliet to feel left out. Besides they were still together in her mind.It was pretty good according to the mind of a eleven year old girl at least. At Rosie's words, Thalia grinned and said "super fun I am sure." She had always wanted to come to Hogwarts and make lots of friends and from the looks of it, she just completed one half of her task as she sat down on her bed. And she still has to work on the second one. She was not the type to compromise with a fair few friends, she would like a lot of friends. Looking at the two she asked "I am soo excited to be here. And did you know that we are in the house which is very much near to the kitchens..." and grinning she continued "imagine the fun we could have, we can always sneak there and get some food for some midnight parties we are going ot have". Thalia was truly excited at the prospect of being in a dorm. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Juliet imagined the days she and her new roommates would be spending together in this room, talking about their dreams for the future and working on interesting homework assignments, as Rosie and Thalia chose beds on either side of her. She couldn't wait to discuss all of the amazing new things she was going to learn at school with her friends! Perhaps they could even proofread each other's essays and practice spells together, or do whatever kids did at a school for magic.
Apparently, Juliet's ideas of fun were a lot different from those of her two friends. Sneaking out? Midnight parties!? "Isn't that against the rules?" Juliet asked. She didn't want to be the annoying one in the friend group, but she couldn't stop herself from speaking up. After all, she was used to saying similar things to her little siblings. "I just don't want any of us to get in trouble," she added.@kyles2 rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie wasn't sure how she felt about parties either. While she wasn't exactly a shy girl, she did have a lot of respect for the rules, however she couldn't see herself ever being in bed before lights out, and she knew that students often stayed up later than they were supposed to. As long as you weren't disturbing anyone else, why did it matter? But when it came to actively defying the rules, she was hesitant. While she was sure she'd explore the kitchens, she planned on doing so mostly during appropriate hours, however, the path from the common room to the kitchens was so short it was unlikely they'd get caught if they ever tried.
"Can't you imagine us staying up all night and talking?" Rosie asked, mostly towards Juliet who seemed hesitant about it all, but she was eager to hear from both of them. She got up from her bed and moved to her trunk which she drug over to the foot of her bed. She opened it up and pulled a box from the top. "Staying up, eating candy and getting to know each other. I don't know about either of you but I'm way too excited to sleep tonight." The young woman opened the box which was full of candy and tossed a chocolate frog to both of her friends before sitting back down on her bed and getting one for her to enjoy as well.

Sometimes the only pay-off for having any faith Is when it's tested again and again everyday I'm still comparing your past to my future It might be your wound but they're my sutures Growing up while listening all the shenanigans her dad and mom were up to while they were at Hogwarts was not a good idea. because the moment little Thalia mentioned going out to kitchens, Juliet mentioned rules. And there was the rule book abiding person in their gang thought Thalia with a smile. She knew that some one would be there to remind them of rules and such, just as there will always be a rule breaker, which she can proudly say is her self. But at that moment the other girls need not know that. Ever since her childhood, Thalia liked to break the little rules she was supposed to follow. it always gave her the extra special happiness in doing things which she was not supposed to do. "We will not be breaking any rules, because according to the rule book we are not supposed to get caught in the corridors," and grinned. But then she thought what if Juliet mentioned this plan to others, after all Thalia did not know much about her and she sure as hell did not want to loose house points the very first day. And so she added with a smile "but I am sure we can ask the house elves to send the food up here to our dorms you know".As Rosie added a few more thoughts into that plan, she gave a nod and grinning she said "exactly, we can have many night outs, just stay up talking all night and do our nails and hair, and drink and dance" even as she said it, Thalia could not keep but be very much excited. As Rosie tossed her chocolate frog, Thalia deftly caught it with her hand and said "thanks Rosie, and yeah I am in no hurry to sleep either"she said with a grin and plopped the chocolate frog into her mouth and enjoying it's taste. Being born into a wizarding family had it's perks as she was introduced to the Honeydukes chocolates ever since she was a kid. Thalia then made her way to her own trunk and pulling out her own stash of chocolates, she grinned and said "who is up for some candy party?" as she dug into the bag and pulled out some sugar quills and tossed it towards the two girls and said "these are my favorite" MADE BY VEL OF GS

Just as Juliet imagined, her friends were still set on their partying. Oh well, what could she do? "I guess so," she replied to Rosie with a sigh, but there was a bit of a grin on her face as well. Thalia mentioned that you were only technically breaking the rules if you got caught, to which Juliet shook her head, smiling at her friend's mischievousness. "House elves? Is that what they call the chefs here?" she asked. Since she was a Muggleborn, she had never heard of the house elves that worked in the kitchens.
She was just thinking that it could be kind of fun to stay up late with her friends when something went flying towards her. She attempted to catch it, but her hands clasped around air and whatever that was tossed in her direction ended up landing on her bed. "I meant for that to happen," she giggled, picking up the small object that was labeled a "chocolate frog." When she saw Thalia eating it, she realized it was candy. "Thanks, Rosie," Juliet said before she unwrapped the packaging around the chocolate frog and took a bite.
She managed to catch what Thalia threw towards her but wasn't sure what it was. Was it candy, or was it a quill? "Thanks Thalia! But I didn't bring anything, I'm sorry..." she frowned, still trying to figure out what was up with that quill.rose harriet granger-weasley @kyles2
