Evelyn was standing on Diagon Alley, waiting for her friend to show up. She and Karen hadn't known one another long, but Ev still considered the girl as a friend. At least for now. She tried to not have expectations with people who became her friends because quite often in the past they had a habit of disappearing. So it was easier to not expect anything and get a friend than to think you had a friend and not. Wow that was depressing.
As she stood there, Ev tried to think of something else to occupy her thoughts. So ... she naturally gravitated toward the book store. She wouldn't go in because then she might miss Karen's arrival, but Ev stood at the window, looking inside. Man, she loved books way too much. She didn't mind though. Books were wonderful.

Unfortunately for Eve, the bookish one did not arrive to diagon alley. Instead, Kara decided to make an appearance. She knew that she wasn't to the primary owner of the body, and that didn't bother her as much anymore as it used to. She learned that she would take what she could get and enjoy it as much as possible. Sometimes she took the chance even if it wasn't necessarily scheduled... but that was neither here nor there. Well in Norway, the two sides of her had written quite a lot, and had gotten to know each other even better. Karen head finally trust and her just a little bit more, but still not enough to be incredibly giving with her time.
Evelyn knew Karen, and Kara very well though. So she would understand if one of them was in control and not the other, she knew that it was a two way street, and that she couldn't expect When of the other. Karen might have been a little bit better for a daytime meeting, but care I didn't mind. She could still stir up some fun in the daylight.
She saw Evelyn up ahead, looking through the window of the bookstore. She grinnd, classic Eve. She approached or slowly trying to sneak up behind her, he didn't off but she couldn't be seen in the reflection of the window. Before she reached out with both of pointer fingers and poked Evelyn either side of her waist. "Surprise!"

Unfortunately for Ev, she did get entirely distracted by the books being displayed in the window. One would think that those books wouldn't make too much of a difference since there weren't many of them, but ... she was reeled in almost immediately. To the point where she wasn't really paying attention to the people around her at all. She was particularly intrigued by one that seemed to be about creatures from foreign countries, like Africa. Africa .... her mind floated away for a moment as she remembered her trip there. Then the sadness returned as she thought about her ex-fiance. Rocco.
She jumped when she felt someone poke her sides and spun around. "Hey!" She said, instantly realizing that it was Kara who came to meet her instead of Karen. Well, this was sure to be interesting. Ev got along quite well with both Kara and Karen, but it was Kara who often wanted to do some sort of adventure and as a general rule, Ev was easily convinced to join in. She smiled at her friend. "So what do you have in store for me today?" she asked curiously, wondering if Kara did have a plan.

Kara grinned like a mad woman when Eve jumped. "Why, ello," she greeted, mocking the brit a little with a little mime of a hat tip. She chuckled when Eve asked what she had in store for her, "you expect big things from me, I like that, Eve," she said, pointing a finger at Evelyns face and wiggled it. "But today you must tell me all about Quidditch! And life! And love?" Kara nor Karen had been able to really stay in touch with people while in Norway, so she had no idea about anything going on with her friend.
She moved beside her and took her friends hand. "Shall we have a drink while we chat? Ice cream?" she suggested, starting to walk along the alley. She would steer whatever direction was right for what Eve chose.

Evelyn smiled as the girl made fun of her. Most of the time she would feel awkward and wouldn't know how to handle people, but she knew Kara enough to know that almost everything was meant as a joke, and none of it was malicious. That made responding to her much easier. She shrugged when the girl commented that she expected big things from her. "Well, I've always gotten them before," Ev pointed out. Then Kara said what she wanted to do today, which was talk. Ev wasn't always as comfortable talking, but she figured she'd be fine with this. Until Kara said what she wanted them to talk about. Quidditch, life and love. Evelyn's heart sank at the words. Each of those things was quite difficult for her at the moment and Evelyn knew she was about to get into a difficult conversation.
She smiled and nodded when Kara took her hand and she followed her as she lead. Ev was trying to decide what she was going to say to the girl about her life. It didn't matter though. She would probably end up spilling everything. "Ice cream sounds good," she answered after a moment of thinking. Really, she liked ice cream. She was just nervous about the talking part.

Ev pointed out that she always got big things from Kara, which made her grin. Then, her friend agreed to ice cream and Kara nodded, skipping the way to the ice cream shop. "Ice cream is good! Who knows, maybe we'll see someone we know and can make faces at them," she laughed. She didn't know THAT many people, so it was a rare thing. She was just happy to be with Ev for the time being. She knew she wouldn't be able to sit still for long, but being with Ev meant that she didn't have to! Ev was always up for fun!
"So," she started as they walked, "let's start with Quidditch. How are things going with the team?" she asked. She wasn't a big player, but she could have fun on a broom now and then if she really tried. She preferred other physical sports, like fighting!

Evelyn followed Kara, not skipping as her friend did, but keeping pace with her. Ev wasn't really the skipping type, to be honest. She grinned, "In other words, you'll make faces at them while I laugh," Evelyn ammended. She wasn't really sure how good she'd be at making faces at people she hardly knew. If it was Dustin ... well, Dustin before everything happened, she wouldn't have hesitated. Other than him though, Ev wasn't sure if she could do that.
Evelyn took a deep breath when Kara said so. She was waiting for the first question, anxious about it. At least she started with Quidditch. That was the better of the three options, though it also spurred everything on. "Umm ... well did you hear about my accident a while ago?" she asked, almost positive the answer was no. If Kara knew, she'd be asking about Rocco and the "scandal" of dating another professional player. "I'm just starting to get back into the swing of things since then. So it's not as good as usual." Adding the fact that there was still a bit of tension between her and Dustin. Things were better but not back to normal and Ev still missed her best friend and wondered if they'd ever get back to their friendship from before.

Kara nodded and laughed, "exactly! Dear, I wish you'd join in the face making every now and then," she said in a forlorn type of tone. She loved having Ev around, though. If anything, her laughing at Karens antics just made them all the more fun.
Ev asked if she had heard about her accident and Kara shook her head, her jaw dropping a little. "I... don't think I did! Karen might have, maybe she forgot to tell me!" she frowned and reached a hand out to Take Evs, "what happened, Ev? Gosh, I'm so sorry I didn't know," and she really, really was. She said she was just starting to get back into the swing again and Kara nodded, trying to be understanding. She understood things taking a hit on your life, and getting back into shape of where you needed to be was hard.

At Kara's words, Ev made a face at her friend. "See? I can do it ... I just have to feel comfortable with the person I'm doing it to," she explained. Though with a bit of encouragement from Kara, she might start making faces at strangers ... maybe. Ev never knew what she'd do when she got together with Kara.
Obviously she hadn't heard about the accident. At least, Kara hadn't. Ev bit her lip, shrugging when Kara reached out to take her hand. "I just ... well I got hit pretty badly during a game by a bludger when I was moving to hit the other one. It broke my arm and knocked me off my broom." And no one caught her before she hit the ground. "I mean, the injury wasn't a big deal in and of itself. I was healed within the day, but they told me I wasn't allowed to play for a few weeks." Why did Ev feel like she was lying? She was telling Kara all about the accident, just leaving out the worst parts about it. Still, talking about Rocco and Dustin was hard. "That wasn't the worst part though," she added after a moment, hoping Kara would ask what was. Maybe her asking would make this easier to say.

Ev made a face and Kara laughed so loudly she thought she was going to snap in half. "OH my gosh," she said, slowing her laughter down to catch her breath. "Where has THAT girl been?" she joked. At least she knew Ev had potential!
Ev explained the accident and Kara caught her breath. She was about to comment on the accident when Ev said that wasn't even the worst part. Her eyebrow raised, "what... what was worse? I mean, you look much better now, so...what?" maybe it wasn't something physical. They arrived to the ice cream place but Kara stopped outside the door. "Let's order first, and sit down in the corner," she suggested, pulling Ev in by the hand.
She went up and ordered hers, and waited for Ev to order before leading them to he corner booth in question, "Okay, here we are."

At Kara's reaction to her face, Ev couldn't help but smile. It was nice to surprise the girl. Evelyn was pretty sure that didn't happen all too often. She shrugged when Kara teased her. "I don't know. She just ... appeared," she teased back.
Ev took a deep breath, trying to prepare herself to explain what happened, but at that moment they reached the ice cream place. Kara suggested they get ice cream and then sit down. Sure. Ev nodded. She could explain things once they were sitting. She followed Kara into the place and then ordered her ice cream, then followed Kara to a booth.
"Ok," she said, taking another deep breath. "I ... I was in a secret relationship. A pretty serious one with a Quidditch player from another team," she confessed. Would Kara be mad at her like Dustin had? She wasn't sure. "Over Christmas he asked me to marry him and I said yes. I was trying to come up with a way to tell my family and best friend, but when I got in the accident, he announced it to the world. So I ended up breaking up with him and losing my best friend all in one day," she finished. Sure, that was a good explanation, wasn't it? At least, it explained everything it needed to. The basics. Now she'd answer any questions Kara had about it, if any. Ev wasn't sure how well she'd explained herself.

When Ev made the joke about her just 'appearing', Kara laughed loudly again. "Maybe I'm not the only one here with different personalities roaming around," she chuckled. Really, everyone had different sides to them. but most people preferred only one name, and could remember everything they did. They just weren't as drastic.
Once they were sitting, Ev took a deep breath. Kara gasped in all the shocking places of the story and her brow was furrowed intensely. A secret relationship!? A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL!? Oh... and she broke up with him. Losing her best friend? Kara didn't realize that ice cream was dripping from her spoon. "Wow... and your best friend was upset you hadn't told him before, is that what you mean? Dustin?" she was more concerned about that at the moment, since she knew how important friendships were and had less experience in... marriage proposals.

Ev smiled as Kara teased her back and gave a small shrug. "Maybe not," she answered before smirking. "Maybe I just hide mine better." Kara would know she didn't mean that maliciously. She was joking around, the way they had been since the topic came up.
Kara was a good listener. She gasped in the right places and looked extremely involved in the conversation. They only problem was, Ev didn't know what she was thinking about the situation. Probably that Evelyn was an idiot but she was used to thinking that about herself when it came to this. But Kara didn't comment on Evelyn's part in this. She asked about Dustin. Ev nodded slowly, "Yes. He thought I didn't tell him because I didn't trust him and I didn't know how to explain myself to him." Ev paused, remembering that time. "We didn't talk for two weeks. I'm still not sure if things are ever going to go back to normal with him." Which was a sad realization for Ev. She missed her best friend and didn't know what she could do to bring things back to the way they used to be, if anything.

Ev joked about hiding her other sides better, and Kara laughed again, but didn't comment on the topic further. They were now talking about more serious matters. So, it was Dustin who was upset. Kara rolled her eyes. Of course Ev trusted him! Kara had heard her speak of it many times. But Ev getting tongue tied about it... that made sense, in the heat of the moment with Dustin after not being told one on one. "Oh, no," she frowned, finally taking a scoop of her ice cream. "You guys are going to be okay. If you're true best friends you can get through anything. Just gibe him time. Trust him, like I know you do," she encouraged, taking more of her ice cream.
She didn't comment on the secret lover further, though, because she wasn't sure if it was necessary to talk about anymore. Ev probably didn't want to anyway.

Kara rolled her eyes and Ev wasn't exactly sure who it was focused on. Was she rolling her eyes at her or at Dustin? When Kara finally spoke, Ev smiled a bit. Kara didn't think it was all Ev's fault. Evelyn listened carefully as her friend spoke. "Thanks Kara. I hope you're right," Ev answered softly. "I do trust him. It's just so strange not talking to him like I used to. I miss him." That was probably pretty obvious to Kara, but she was trying to make sure she knew. The last thing Ev wanted was for someone to blame all this on Dustin. It was not his fault.
She ate a bit more of her ice cream then looked up at her friend. "No more questions?" she asked. It was easier to answer questions than to come up with something to say on her own.
