Georgie eked out a laugh when Daniel said that the kids who complained about their two live parents were spoiled brats. He was obviously kidding, which was good. If he had seemed serious then Georgie really wouldn’t have known what to do with that comment. Daniel agreed to her plans for the coming Mother’s Day. “American Mother’s Day is on a different day from the British one, though.” She pointed out. While they would certainly see the significance of sitting in the corner and laughing at the kids with the normal families, no one else would… and honestly, wasn’t everyone else knowing a part of the point? But if it was on British Mother’s Day, then it wouldn’t be as significant for them… and honestly, there would probably be a little bit of envy in all of their teasing, and Georgie wasn’t sure she was up for that.
Georgie snorted when Daniel said that having an American coalition would annoy half the school because they couldn’t join it. “No reason they can’t make a British coalition or whatever.” Not everyone in the school was even British – Hogwarts served Ireland and Scotland and Wales, as well. And, of course, there were people who came from other parts of the world and relocated to the United Kingdom, like her and Daniel. Everyone could have their own coalition! It would be a party. “You know, we could just hang out together. That would be basically the same as having a club.” Them just hanging out as friends wouldn’t require a staff supervisor, and it wouldn’t possibly inspire jealousy. It was a win-win.

Georgie explained how Mother’s Day was on a different day here in Europe than in America. While he didn’t know that till just now he also wasn’t surprised by it either. Everything since Daniel came to Europe seemed a little off or different so of course something so silly as the date of Mother’s Day would be different here. Measurement of speed, the temperate even how the dates were written out were different here. Daniel didn’t out right hate change but it didn’t help with him not wanting to be in Europe either. “Honestly I should just assume everything is different here and just be surprised at the few things that actually are the same.” Daniel replied with a laugh about the different dates. “Took me a few weeks to figure out what people were going on about with the temperature.”
Daniel had just been kidding and could only assume Georgia caught that and was correcting him while joking as well. Still it was a funny conversation nonetheless. “I’ll always welcome the company even without making a club out of. It’s a rare sight anyone in my house sees me with another person anyway. It’ll probably get enough looks just because of that on top of being the new kid.” Daniel joked but still was honest about having some good company at times. It wasn’t like he had made many friends since coming to Hogwarts and he wasn’t trying that hard either. “I’m just thankful they didn’t sorted me with the first years being new here. I don’t think I would ever hear the end of it if that happened.”
