Adonia loved clowns. They were basically paid to just goof off and mess with people, and that was basically the dream. She loved watching their skits, the way they interacted with the audience and their silly costumes. She saw one of them up ahead and made her way to it. He was balloon tieing! She grinned, watching for a moment before stepping up. "Can you do a bird? Any bird," she asked, giddy as a kid on Christmas. The clown tied it up with lavish, entertaining flavor before handing it to her. "Thank you!" she said, moving away only to turn and bump into two people standing together nearby.
Hogwarts students, one of them with fiery red hair. They were an interesting duo... She reached a hand out to gently touch the girl on the arm apologetically, "sorry, there. Wasn't paying attention! Distracted by my ballon!" she held it up to show them, and her eyes flickered to the other. "Are you two getting one?"

Dom and Séamus were at the carnival. She was excited- ecstatic actually- to be here, but was trying to reign it in a little bit. She didn't want to freak Séamus out before they had the chance to have some real fun. At the moment she was trying to decide what they should do first. "Is there anything you want to do first," Dom asked, looking around curiously.
Then someone bumped into them and Dom turned to face the girl, a smile on her face. A small bump couldn't get her out of her good mood. Dom nodded to the girl as she touched Dom's arm. "Its no problem," she answered easily, her eyed widening when she saw the girl's balloon. "That's fantastic," Dom complimented enthusiastically. She shrugged at the question, looking at Séamus. "Probably later. First I want to try some of the rides and games," she said with a shrug. She expected Séamus to stay with her, but wasn't going to speak for him.

When someone bumped into Dom, Shay’s hand automatically went out to steady her – not that she needed it. The pair of them had decided to the carnival together mutually… mostly because Séamus had informed his friend that he probably wouldn’t go, and she had insisted that he had to. Since Dom had a habit of getting her way – as far as Shay could tell, that wasn’t just with him – here they both were, trying to decide what to do. The girl who had bumped into Dom said something about being distracted by her balloon, and Séamus surveyed it. It looked like a bird. If he was honest, Shay was surprised that the balloon animal makers at wizard carnivals hadn’t figured out some sort of spell to make the animals actually move. “D-do you th-think th-they c-can m-make f-flowers?” Séamus asked the girl. Dom said she didn’t want a balloon, but Shay wouldn’t mind having more flowers to brighten up the darkness of the Slytherin common room, especially ones that wouldn’t wilt or die. Of course, it was likely that one of his house mates would think it funny to pop the balloons and humiliate him… but he wasn’t going to focus on that yet.

The gorgeous redhead had a soothing voice, saying that it wasn't a problem when Doni bumped into her. Then she complimented the balloon and Adonia nodded vigorously, squealing a little with glee. The girl said that she wanted to try some rides and games and Adonia nodded again, but didn't speak since the boy was opening his mouth.
He had one of those stutters, just like that girl Adonia had met by the fire eaters. She nodded, "yes! I think I saw them make a flower earlier..." she glanced over their heads and around for a second, "I'm not seeing it, but I swear I saw someone with a bouquet of them!" she announced, sure of herself, turning back to the pair. They were... quite a pair, too. They seemed close but not romantically close, at least not obviously. Either way, Adonia was sure she could be entertained by them for a while.
She smiled, reaching her hand out to gentle touch the girls wrist, "I'm Adonia, by the way," she introduced, taking her hand back and offering it for a handshake instead.

Dom was a little surprised when Séamus asked about flower balloons. Not because she didn't think he cared, but because she knew he wasn't always the most talkative of people, especially around people he didn't know. At least, that's what Dom observed about him. As he spoke, she looked at him, happy that he let her convince him to come. Even if they were just talking about balloons with a stranger.
The girl, however, seemed to be a kind of kindred spirit. At least, she was super excited about the balloons and appeared to be very cheerful and enthusiastic. That was Dom all over, though it didn't particularly show at the moment. This was the first time Dom came to the carnival, so she was still scoping it out. She was positive that soon enough she'd find something she wanted to do and beg Séamus to do it with her. But if he was interested in the balloons ... she supposed that was alright too. She didn't say anything as the girl explained that she had seen flower balloons and looked around to find them but couldn't. Since Séamus was the one interested in them, Dom would let him take the lead.
However, when the girl reached over and touched Dom's wrist, she regarded her curiously. Adonia, she introduced herself. Hmmm ... apparently this Adonia didn't really have a personal bubble, which Dom didn't mind. She had a habit of breaking other people's bubbles when she got too excited, after all. "Dominique," she answered with a smile, then grimaced, "but everyone calls me Dom." Now a smile as she reached forward and shook the girls hand with a wink. She was so excited to finally be at the carnival!

Shay was surprised by how happy he was to find out that the balloon twister could make flowers. He should have expected as much, given the complexity of the balloon bird that the stranger was holding, but it was always better to be safe than sorry, he thought. The stranger went on to announce that she saw someone with a bouquet of flowers, and Séamus deflated a little. The idea wasn’t nearly as appealing now that he knew that he wasn’t the first one to think of it, and he would feel silly if somehow two balloon bouquets appeared in the Slytherin common room (especially because people would probably assume that both came from him).
The stranger introduced herself as Adonia, extending her hand for Dom to shake. His friend offered her name, too, and Shay glanced back and forth between the two girls, unsure whether or not he was supposed introduce himself too. “S-Séamus.” He muttered, loud enough to be heard but probably not loud enough to distinguish what he had said, just in case he had been wrong to throw himself into their introductions. Shay had half a mind to suggest that they all go play a game together or something, but from what he had observed so far, his female companions had more than enough spunk to go around, and him trying to dictate the schedule would just end in disaster.

The girl introduced herself and Adonia nodded at her. Oh! She winked! Adonia liked that. She smiled brightly at her and shook her hand firmly before turning to Seamus as he gave his name. She didn't quite catch it, though, and she released Dominics hand to lean toward him. "I'm sorry, what did you say, honey? I didn't quite hear," she said softly. It was almost as if she was treating him like a wounded animal that she didn't want to startle for fear that it would hurt itself. Not condescendingly, but rather that she was just trying to be nice and not too overbearing, since the guy seemed kind of shy.
The girl, on the other hand, seemed like a riot. Just Adonias type.

The girl- Adonia- was smiling widely and Dom watched her curiously. She seemed to be the kind of person who liked to have fun ... well, either that or she was just one of those people that was constantly cheerful. Either one was something that Dom could work with to make sure they had fun, if they ever did anything together that was. She wasn't sure if the girl was just going to greet them and move on or if she'd want to join their little group.
After a few seconds she heard Séamus' voice, but he spoke so softly that even she couldn't understand what he was saying. She looked at him, her expression surprised. She knew that Séamus was shy, but this took shy to a new level, even for him. She couldn't remember him ever speaking so softly that she couldn't understand him. She reached forward and touched his arm softly, concern evident in her eyes. She wasn't going to say anything yet, but if he wasn't alright she was going to do something. What? She had no idea, but something for sure.

Séamus almost pulled a face at being called ‘honey’. The girl couldn’t have been more than a year or two older than him, so the pet name felt rather condescending, rather than endearing. Nevertheless, Shay cleared his throat, ready to try again. Dom’s light touch on his arm distracted him for a moment, and he glanced over to see if there was something that she wanted. No, she was just looking at him, slightly concerned. Shay’s stomach shifted a little. He was the one who was supposed to be concerned about her, not the other way around. “I s-said, m-my n-name is S-Séamus.” Shay repeated, louder this time. If they couldn’t hear him, then he might as well just give up, because he wasn’t sure he could get any louder without feeling like he was shouting. Séamus edged closer to Dominique, hoping that being closer to her would help dispel some of his nerves about the foreign girl.

Adonias eyes flickered to Dom touching his arm, and then back to Shays face, even as he looked to Dom as well. He spoke up, giving his name. "Nice to meet you, Seamus," she said with a grin. She straightened up, looking to Dom again. She didn't notice Shay inch toward Dominique, her perceptiveness only went so far and she wasn't hyper observant. "Would you mind if I joined you for an activity or two? I'm meeting someone but they're not quite here yet," she explained. She wasn't actually meeting anyone SPECIFIC, but she hadn't seen anyone else she wanted to spend time with next so it was safe to assume they weren't there yet. She was interested in these two, mostly in seeing how they're little relationship worked. Spending time with them for a little while seemed like even more fun then playing actual carnival games. For the time being.

When Séamus looked at Dom when she touched his arm she realized that he seemed pretty normal. At least, she couldn't see any visible signs that he was nervous about anything or that something was wrong. She gave him a quick smile before turning her attention back to the girl in front of them as Séamus introduced himself, loud enough to be heard this time. She noticed him edge a little closer out of the corner of her eye when Adonia greeted him back. Did the girl make Séamus nervous? Dom hoped not because she seemed like fun, but she also had no idea. She wished once more that she could read his expressions better.
Dom's attention was focused mostly on the girl in front of them both. She was so energetic it was almost weird. Dom grinned back at her, "Of course you can join us! We'd love to have you." Dom looked around quickly and then made a decision. "What if we go this way? I'm sure we'll find something over here," she reached over and grabbed Séamus' hand just long enough to pull him the way she was planning on going. Then she released him, not wanting to make him uncomfortable, especially since they weren't on their own. She did walk a little closer to him than she normally would, her hand brushing his as they walked.

Shay knew it was probably wrong to be upset with Dominique inviting the crazy girl to join them in their wanderings, since he wasn’t going to answer the question anyways, but the idea of having to deal with another person damn near broke his introvert heart. Still, Séamus managed a smile at the girl after Dominique agreed for the pair of them, still attempting to seem normal despite his nervousness. And, since Adonia didn’t know him, smiling at a stranger wouldn’t seem out of character to her (even though it was). Séamus thoughts were disrupted when Dominique’s hand closed around his. This was new – the holding hands bit. He had sort of held her hand when he had drawn flowers on it, but that was different and – oh, now they weren’t holding hands anymore. Well, that was an emotional roller coaster. Séamus wished desperately that he was a better conversationalist, so that he could strike something up while they walked. “D-did you kn-know s-some cities h-have c-carnivals j-just f-for f-flowers?” He asked, not directing his question towards either of the girls so they could both respond if they wanted.

Adonia grinned happily and followed as Dominique said she could join them. Then Séamus mentioned carnivals just for flowers and Adonias jaw dropped slightly, "I did now know that! That's amazing. What do they do just... bring all different kinds and show them off?" she asked in lieu of wanting clarification and more information. It sounded pretty cool, actually. She liked flowers, of course. Who didn't!? It would be a silly thing to dislike, at least.
As they walked she saw a few people that she already knew passing by, but she didn't stop to talk to any of them. Currently she was still interested in this little duo.

Dom smiled when Séamus brought up carnivals about flowers. Honestly, she'd never considered anything like that, but she definitely wasn't surprised. Séamus would know something like that, and she was glad that he felt comfortable enough to share it. She listened to the conversation and looked over at her friend, waiting to see his reaction. She obviously couldn't answer Adonia's question because she didn't know anything about flower carnivals. "I'd love to see one of those," she commented lightly. Actually, it did sound really cool. Maybe she'd have to go to one someday ... maybe she'd be able to go with Séamus since he knew so much about flowers.

Séamus shrugged his shoulders when Adonia asked exactly what happened at a carnival for flowers. “I’ve n-never b-been.” He admitted. “B-but I’ve s-seen s-signs.” He had begged his mother to go when he had seen someone post a flier for a flower carnival at the bakery, but it had been too far away for it to be feasible for Shay. Now that he was a wizard, though, he was going to have a much easier time getting around – especially if he passed his Apparition licensing test at the end of the year. “L-let’s j-just h-have f-fun at the c-carnival w-we d-do h-have.” Séamus suggested instead with a bright smile, leading the girls into the thick of the crowd in hopes of finding something they’d all enjoy.
