Rosie had been loving this carnival that the school put on. It was such a good opportunity for everyone to take their minds off of recent events and just have fun. And the Hufflepuff girl had been having the time of her life. She had spent time with her friends, indulged on sugar and candy and various treats, and played several games that resulted in a small amount of tickets that had been accumulating in the back pocket of her Jeans. At the end of the last day of the carnival, Rosie took her tickets to the counter to see if there was anything she could trade them in for.
The ticket counter was full of prizes all for various amounts of tickets. Rosie glanced around until she saw something that caught her interest. A cage stood in the corner of the booth full of Pygmy Puffs running around. A sign above them read, "Any color you could imagine!" Right away Rosie knew that was what she wanted. A pygmy puff cost 25 tickets, what a deal! She pulled her stack out of her pockets and counted how many she had. 28. Perfect. she could use 25 to buy the creature and tape the rest of them into her journal to have to always remember the carnival and when she got the first pet that actually belonged to her. Her family had a cat at home in Dublin, however, it was her mothers cat. Rosie liked the idea of being able to take ownership and responsibility for another living creature.
"Do you really have every color of Pygmy Puffs?" Rosie asked the carnie working the ticket counter in awe. The woman nodded with a smile. Rosie leaned over the counter to get a better look at the cage. "Could I please have that one in the corner? The ice blue one?" Rosie asked. The pygmy puff in the corner seemed to be looking at Rosie, and from the second she made eye contact with the small creature, she knew he was the one. Rosie handed the woman her 25 tickets and the woman fished into the cage and pulled out the puff in question she handed Rosie a pamphlet about how to take care of her new pet and also handed her the animal. Rosie took a few steps away from the booth and looked at her little guy, who nuzzled happily into the palms of her cupped hands. "What should I call you?" she asked the Pygmy Puff, knowing that he couldn't respond. "What about Ice?" she pondered. "Because of your color, obviously." she smiled, deciding. "Alright Icey, let's go back to the common room and show you off!"
He is roughly this color if you were wondering
