Ugh....morning....when had that happened?
Elaine groaned softly as she came out of her deep slumber--or rather was jerked out of said slumber by a sharp pain in her foot. It was Saturday--thank goodness. And morning too--always a good thing as well. And so most of her roommates were still in the deep throes of dreamland. She smirked as she looked at them all. Clueless. Totally clueless. Every single one of them. No one had any idea of where she was last night...and what she had done. It was wonderful.
She smirked that slightly evil smirk of her's as she thought of the events of the previous night. Oh last night had been fun indeed. She couldn't help but smirk as she thought about there being one less invader among her. The boy had it coming. He was foolish enough to be in the forbidden forest and at night to boot and he was doubly foolish enough to cross her path in his venture. It was a struggle and a half but he got what he had coming to him. He was a halfblood and didn't deserve to be here. And so of course she had to take him out of the picture. She winced again as she felt that pain in her foot. And her face. And all of her muscles that seemed to protest any movement whatsoever. She cursed softly. Struggle indeed.
She hadn't expected the fourth year to have as much fight in him as he had and she was still suffering the consequences of that inner fight. She knew automatically that the idiotic boy had broken her foot. She looked down at her swollen limb that hurt when she tried to put any pressure on it whatsoever and she couldn't help but shake her head. It was a lapse of her concentration as much as the boy being an idiot. Her face was also in a lot of pain--that fist to the side of her face had left her with a bruise and a half no doubt. On the plus side though at least he hadn't broken her nose like she thought he had. Still though--he HURT her. NO ONE hurt her like this. NO ONE was able to get the better of her like that.
She was still FURIOUS about it. And even more glad for the fact that he was dead now. Cause if she hadn't killed him last night--then you better believe she would have killed him at some point for injuring her so.
She sat upright--gingerly throwing her feet over the side of the bed as she bit her tongue to prevent herself from groaning. Pain. She was in it right now. She cursed as she hobbled to her feet. Curse him. Curse him forever and in the grave! She knew she had to get to the hospital wing for some medicine. She was a tough girl and would dare anyone to tell her otherwise...but even she had to admit that a broken foot hurt like heck! Hmmm but going to the hospital wing posed a problem for the girl. The nurse would want to know what happened. And she wasn't about to spoil her cover. Not for something as silly as this. Ahh but Elaine had an idea that just came to her. She could always say that she was heading to the common room during the night when she couldn't sleep and tripped over something. Yes that sounded like the perfect alibi to her. And so off she went.
Or well hobbled...
It took entirely way too long (but in reality it was only a half hour) to get from the Slytherin common rooms in the dungeon to the hospital wing on the first floor. She opened the door to the hospital wing and was surprised to see and hear --- nothing. There was no one here? Elaine hopped into the main area and looked around. This was -odd. "Helloooo? Anyone hoooome?" she called out in a sing song voice. But no response. No reply. No body. No nothing.
Well, well, well--wasn't this just marvelous? Elaine smirked as she figured that she could use this to her advantage. This was perfect! No people. No questions. No one to answer to. Marvelous. This day just got a lot better. And so she hopped around the corner towards the cabinet that she had seen the nurses go to when they needed some medicines....and now the search was on....

Desirae had just finished writing a lovely letter to that hunk, and so easy to blackmail, James Potter. The poor boy had experienced such an ordeal these last few weeks that she couldn't just leave him out of a nice letter letting him know she knew of his pain, could she? After she summoned three spiders to deliver the letter to him, she thought it best to get a head start on the day by heading down to the kitchens early and getting a snack. It was a Saturday, so she really didn't have too much to worry about when it came to classes and getting up on time, but Desi loved getting up in the morning. She never slept in, it wasn't good for you.
As she left the Ravenclaw tower and made her way towards the dungeon to find the kitchens, she noticed her dearest friend Elaine leaving the dungeons, a slight limp in her step. Desi followed slowly, not wanting to make her presence known right away. If the opportunity called for it, she'd try to scare Elaine and have a good laugh. But Elaine was not easily scared and would probably kill Desi if she tried. Desi just loved that about Elaine, she had no fear.
She followed quite a few steps behind, only keeping Elaine in the farthest reach of her vision. Eventually, she came upon the hospital wing and walked in to find Elaine searching the medicine cabinet, "my dear, whatever have you been up to?" Desi asked in her sweet silky voice as she walked over to Elaine and leaned against the wall nearby the cabinet. Elaine looked fine more the most part, maybe a bit paler than usual.

She was being followed.
She was no idiot. She knew someone was behind her. Which could have turned ugly if they saw her rooting around the hospital wing and being a sneaky snook. But somehow she got the feeling that she didn't have to worry about that. She got the feeling that she was being followed by a friend--or an ally at the very least. And so she did not worry and she had soldiered onward. Her limp becoming more and more progressive and worse the more she walked. Damn that boy. Ugh! Thankfully the medical wing wasn't THAT far away and she didn't have to like walk to the seventh floor. THAT would have been AWFUL!
She found a chair and propped her injured leg up on it as she bent over and began to carefully look through the cabinet. She had to make sure that she left it in the same condition that she found it in. She could not raise a single suspicion. She already cast an anti fingerprint charm that she had learned a good long while back so that she didn't leave a trace. It was something important --for her and her goals. It would do her no good to get caught now. No one had a clue and it was going to stay that way. Now she just had to find that damn potion for broken bones. And not break anything. And not disorganize it. And not--
--she froze as she heard footfalls. Close footfalls. Like the person was in the same room as she was kind of close! And a voice. Oh damn. She bolted into an upright position with a short gasp as she figured that she was now in trouble. She was convinced that it was the nurse. The nurse had caught her and now she had to use her alibi and hoped the foolish nurse actually bought it. Though wait just half a moment here. That voice now that she thought of it...sounded familiar. Too familiar. REALLY familiar. She rolled around with a start -- her eyes coming across that oh so familiar figure and her eyes narrowed slightly,
"Desi!" she gasped softly through slightly gritted teeth. This was really not her norm. To be overpowered and startled? Though it was Desi--she couldn't stay mad at her Ravenclaw partner in crime for too long. Desirae was almost as cruel as she was. She had the same ideals as Elaine and it was an nearly instant friendship. Desi had her own ways with blackmail and spiders--but it worked for her. And there was something about the other that Elaine couldn't help but be ever so slightly more at ease around, "Darn you girl I thought you were the nurse and that I was going to have to save my ass." she said with a light laugh and shake of her head. She had been so absorbed in her thoughts and looking for that medicine she supposed that she wasn't paying much attention to what was going on around her. But hey least it was Desi instead of the nurse. Least with Desi she didn't have to be fake, she didn't have to pretend--she didn't have to be anything or anyone else....it was a nice thing however rare it was...
Desi wondered what she had been up to and a mischievous smirk came across the Slytherin's face. Mischievous and downright scary to anyone else. That kind of smirk that let you know the person had done something --- yeah that kind of smirk, "Oh a little of this and a little of that...as ever always." she said simply and with a short laugh. "I am sure you heard of the misfortune that befell us last night." she said sarcastic when she said misfortune...hah! Hah hah! Misfortune --- indeed not....

When Elaine gave the short gasp, Desi wanted to applaud herself. It looked like she had managed to startle the Slytherin, at least a little. This pleased Desi and she bit her lip to hold back a laugh. Laughing at Elaine was never a good idea. She would have to enjoy her small victory in silence. As she turned to face her, eyes narrowing, Desi smiled innocently and shrugged. ”Oh you would have thought of something, that nurse is about as bright as a blackout curtain.” She chuckled along with Elaines light laugh.
As the smirk came across Elaine face, Desi ran her fingers through her hair and cocked her head to one side, ready for whatever fabulous mischief the girl had caused now. Desis eyes widened when she mentioned the misfortune. ”Wait, what misfor-OH!” she laughed, almost a little too loudly, when she realized what Elaine must have meant. That student who was... exterminated. Desi laughed. She had some good secrets on that kid, but they weren’t really of any use to her. Still, she kind of wished Elaine would let her know if she was going to off someone so Desi could stop her if it was someone particularly useful.
Though. Most mudbloods and muggle borns weren’t useful. Their parentage was really of no use to Desi, so it was naturally acceptable for Elaine to remove them. Desi nodded and gestured to the cabinet, ”I guess that it wasn’t as tragic as it could have been?” she turned to the medicine cabinet and bit her lip. ”What can I help you find?” Not that Desi was helpful very often, but she couldn't have her closest thing to a friend and accomplice struggle. That wouldn't do.

Elaine couldn't help but give her friend in crime a look. That 'ha ha your funny' kind of look. She could see that the other was holding back a laugh. She had meant to startle Elaine hadn't she? Of course she did. Ha ha. It was to laugh. But if Desi had one thing in her favor--it was that no matter how hard Elaine tried--she could never stay truly pissed off at her for more then about ohh a few hours if that. And she probably knew that too damn it all. She remarked that Elaine would have figured something out and well she supposed that was true, "Well I am pretty good at bs-ing things....but I'd rather not have to right now." she remarked back with a cheeky grin--or as much of one as she could wager right now. She was still in a lot of pain.
Ahh but at least she didn't have to worry about it. It was not the nurse. She was still nowhere to be found (so much for being here to do your job lady)...and besides the Slytherin had many more things to worry about right now then lying through her teeth. More painful things. She had to fight to keep the pained look off of her face as she felt another stabbing pain going up and down her leg. Her foot still hurt! And that pain reminded her of why she was here to start with. Remedies...potions...spell lists...something...anything....
Desi was a smart enough cookie to get what Elaine had meant when she had spoke about the misfortune of the night before. "Oh yes...so tragic." she said through slightly gritted teeth--though clearly she was focusing on something else right now. Sometimes Desi and Elaine got into arguments over Elaine's kill and run methods. Desi had always been a blackmailer more then a killer. And sometimes she got a bit irritated --- Elaine supposed it was because she never gave Arachne the chance to see if the victim was good blackmailing material. But ehh she got over it. Desi wanted the halfbloods and muggleborns gone as much as Elaine did. And so the small debates never lasted long.
Desi soon asked Elaine what she was looking for and Elaine spoke as she kept on looking, "That stupid, stupid boy broke my foot in the struggle." she hissed in a voice just barely above a whisper. "Surely there is something here that can heal the fracture. Or at least help with the pain while it heals on its own. I barely got any sleep last night. That will not do you know. I need sleep just as much as the next person does."

Elaines 'looks' always made Desi smile. Desi loved the rush of knowing that her best friend killed people and knowing she wasn't going to be one of them. Still, it was kind of thrilling to anger a serial killer, it really got the heart pumping! "I'm sure it would be hard to think straight, you look like you feel terrible-" Elaine made a bit of a pouty face and gently reached out to brush Elaines hair off her shoulders. Elaine was really pale, probably from the pain of whatever had happened to her last night. She really did look like she could use the nurse, but then she'd have to explain herself.
Desi kept her frowny face on when Elaine was clearly focusing on her pain and not on her triumph of the previous night. When Elaine finally told her what was wrong, the Ravenclaw reached her arm around Elaines waist and pulled her gently away from the closet. "Okay there tiger, how about you sit on this bed and I will look for the stuff, okay?" she spoke in a sweet syrupy voice as she led Elaine to the closest bed and then went back to the closet. "You do need sleep, more than most. You deserve it..." Desi encouraged as she searched through the cabinet. Soon she found something for the pain and brought it back to Elaine.
"Okay, take some of this. I'll find someone to mend the fracture, though I don't know if there is a potion for that. I assume she'd just use a spell because it's a fracture-it's not like the bones are gone or anything..." Desi went back to the closet and searched a little more, but she didn't know much about bone fractures. "I can't believe he broke your foot. I'd promise to make him pay but," she shrugged. He was dead now, not much Desi could do about that.

Desi always did like startling her. Somehow Elaine always got the idea that Desi got some enjoyment out of making her jump or glare at her. It made the Slytherin roll her eyes--what was fun about that? Desi was a great woman but there were some things she did that would forever perplex Elaine. Perhaps it was because Elaine thought too much in the black and the white of things--but that was thinking and thoughts for another time. Right now--she just wanted to get better. Or at least not to feel near leg numbing pain every time she took a step.
"Thanks Desi...I'll take that as a compliment to be sure." she droned oh so sarcastically as Desi commented on how terrible she looked. Leave to the Ravenclaw to state the obvious. There was some truth to those words however. She was pale and she knew it. She was in a lot of pain and she felt like she had been ran through a machine. She felt the other's gentle hand brushing back a strand of her hair and the Slytherin smirked softly. Desi had always been more affectionate then she... in a weird kind of way that again baffled her. Such a strange word after all.
She had explained what had happened and soon she felt someone's arm around her waist--pulling her away from the cabinet and to the nearest bed. Desi told her to take a break and to let her take a look. She inwardly smirked--somehow she knew that would be the reaction. Desi was one of the few people she knew without a doubt that she could count on. And that was rare. The amount of people she could say that about was a number she could use one hand to show. Didn't mean she wasn't going to tease the other about it though, "Oh come on. I'm not that incapacitated. Of course having you look means I can be lazy...so I suppose that's not a terrible thing." clearly she was joking around with the other-- a side that only Desi ever got to see. And maybe her parents...but that was it. She was soon handed a bottle and Elaine took a quick read over of the label. Just to make sure after all. Not that any of the words mattered but four of them...
'Helps to relieve pain.'
That was all she needed to know and she downed the vial--slipping the now empty carton into her robes. Maybe it would help her make more of it and sides she wasn't about to leave and empty bottle for evidence to find. Heck no. It didn't take long for it too kick in and ohh that felt good. The pain was still there just not as sharp and stabbing. Oh she was definitely going to have to figure this potion out. She watched as her ally looked through the counters. Desi had brought up a point. Maybe there wasn't a potion---maybe it was a spell used to help mend broken bones. Hmmm... good point indeed. But Elaine wasn't anything if she wasn't one to think things through.
"Maybe there's a book somewhere. With spells and what not. So while you look and I just sit here like a lump on a log--I must ask out of curiosity...have your eight legged friends been at work lately?" cause every once in a while, the girl in the house of snake got curious as to what the other was up to...

Desi was always amused with the way Elaine handled her. She was much less physical then Desi, but Desi had reached a point where she knew Elaine wouldn't kill her at the drop of a hat. It was a good situation to be in. "Exactly," she responded as Elaine concluded that she could be lazy while Desi looked around. She was glad she found something for the pain at least, even if she hadn't found something to really mend the injury just yet.
"You know what we need? A healer. Someone who is in on our plans that can take care of stuff like this," Desi added. Then Elaine mentioned the possibility of a book and Desi nodded searching for that too. At the mention of her darling Spiders, Desi turned to smile at Elaine. "Aw, of course they have been! The angels. Nothing too thrilling going around though," she explained, "just adolescent gossip, really." She sighed, it was a boring week for Arachne.

As usual--Desirae brought up some wicked good points. Elaine's face turned thoughtful as she took the other's words into consideration. She was right of course--they could use a healer in their group. Someone to patch them up after their no good doings. Someone who wouldn't rat them out of course. Someone who had the same ideals and views as they did. She wouldn't have had it any other way. Hmm but who? Who could fill this pivotal role for them? Now that she wasn't in such tremendous pain--she could actually think about something else other then how much her foot hurt. Hmm but no one came to mind. She turned to the Ravenclaw as the girl continue to look around for a potion or a book or what have,
"I have no idea who would fit that bill though. Usually healers are such goody two shoes though. We of course don't need anyone ratting us out." that was of course her main concern. It was always her main concern. Making sure that she didn't get discovered until she wanted to get discovered. But they would figure something out--they always did after all.
Elaine smirked softly as Desi said her little spider minions had been out and about but frowned as she said all that they had been picking up was idle gossip. She shook her head. "It appears as if that's all that some people do. Its really rather droll. I wish I could say that I could help but I can't. Gossip has never been my thing." she made a small face. Just the idea of being one of those gossip type of girls made her cringe. That was definitely not her forte. She was definitely more of an action type of person. She definitely prescribed to actions more then words. Though she wasn't above a little word play but not always.
"Have you found anything yet?" she then asked cause perhaps she was getting a bit impatient with just sitting here and doing nothing. Not that she would have said so mind you...

As Elaine made the point that she didn't know who could possibly help them with healing, Desi suddenly felt her memory spark up. "Actually..." she began, folding her arms across her chest. "I have had some interesting little whispers about Cass. Nurse Leonato, whatever. I'll look into that. Don't worry--" she said, her face amused yet serious as she turned toward Elaine, "I would never invite anyone among us unless I had complete confidence in them not ratting us out," and she was dead serious, too. She knew what she was looking for in a lackie. "That's all right, darling," Desi said as Elaine mentioned gossip not being her thing, "I'll deal with sifting through the gossip to get some real information. So far, however, it seems our enemies are rather good at keeping their affairs under lock and key," she said this through gritted teeth, of course. Those good two shoes did know some useful magic. "Here!" Desi said, finally turning with a vial of something that could ease the pain, "let's just take the bottle and get out of here. My friends can put it back later," the longer they stayed, the more likely they were to get caught.

Elaine's eyebrow rose slightly. "Nurse Leonato? Is he a nurse here at Hogwarts?" she asked curiously. She wasn't sure if she could trust that he could help them. Hogwarts wouldn't hire anyone who was on the dark side. Then again--they had hired Snape as a potions professor all those years back. Of course he wasn't necessarily all bad--but he wasn't all good either. Okay that was a horrible example--that whole moment in history was more complicated then a getting through a nest of bees. Hmm well she said she was going to find out more about him and well she had to trust that. Desirae was one of the very few that she fully trusted and she would trust what she and her little friends (as they were called ) had to say about the man. She would still pass her full judgment based on a face to face meeting but they were a mighty good start you know. "And I trust you for that. And I know you wouldn't break that trust." she gave one of her rare and genuine smiles. She knew that the Ravenclaw was not kidding around. She was absolutely serious when she said that she wouldn't let anyone into their group that would rat them out. Even if there was a remote chance of it--she wouldn't let it happen. It was nice to have that kind of trust in someone. She didn't have that kind of trust in many people (if hardly any people at all) and it was rather nice to know that she didn't have to worry about it all at once and all the time.
Elaine frowned as Desi mentioned how little her spiders had been finding out. Their enemies had been keeping their plans under wraps. They had a good way of doing that. And of annoying her even more. But they would find them out. She would find them all out. She would find out their plans and destroy them and kill them all. She would not make the same mistakes that Voldemort did. She refused to. She was better then that. better then him. She would succeed where he failed. She would be known as the one who set things right--put things back the way they were and should be. Muggles and halfbloods had no place in this world and she would be the one to lead the forces in making sure it became that way and stayed that way.
Ahh Desi found another bottle of pain relieving potion and Elaine was itching to get out of here as much as she was. She didn't want to be caught thank you. And the longer they were here the more likely that became and--oh what was that noise? Footfalls. Someone was coming this way. They must act quickly! "Too late. Someone's coming. Hide that bottle and get over here will ya? And if they asked--I tripped down the stairs when they started moving." she hissed as she heard footfalls approaching. There would be no time to leave without arousing suspicions. And that was not allowable! She internally winced as she saw who it was that had come into the hospital wing. It was Professor Eielson. Well crap this just got more interesting didn't it?

Zach meanwhile was dealing with his own dilemma. His dog was sick. Had been for a day or so now. He thought that the snuffly nose and cough would go away on its own, but alas it didn't. And what he thought was an allergy to something was quite clearly a good ol' dog cold. And he now knew that he needed some medicine for Yula. Yula was after all a dear friend (yes a friend even if she was furry and four legged -- that was not the point here) and he was not going to let her go on and suffer with a cold. Okay so he knew that Caroline was not a vet. She was a nurse and treated humans and all. But surely she had some idea of what to do or at least where to start. And that was enough for him and why he made the trek from his office to the first floor.
But when he walked in-- he was surprised to see no one here. Where was Caroline? And the other nurses? Surely they wouldn't just leave their patients behind. Something was amiss here. He looked around and noticed that well--no one was here that was but Elaine Dupree and Desirae Rousseau. Hmm now what were those two doing here? He always wondered about those two. They always seemed a bit--off in some kind of ways. And off in that slightly strange sort of way. Of course he didn't think of them as responsible for the killings. He had no reason to be suspicious of them personally but after what had happened the night before--with a young Ravenclaw boy being viciously killed....he had to admit now that he thought about it that he was beginning to wonder how she came to acquire a foot injury. Clearly that was what was bugging her judging by how swollen and painful it looked.
There was only one way to find out. "Miss Dupree. Miss Rousseau--is everything okay?" he asked curiously and given their answers--he would go from there..

Desi nodded, "yeah he's a nurse here. Was a Gryffindor back in the day. But there's something... Different about him. I'm keeping tabs on it," this was basically Desis job in the crew. To watch got those who could join the cause either by persuasion, desire or blackmail.
Desi didn't get the chance to speak again before they were scrambling about because someone was coming.
Big surprise, it was the charming charms professor. Desi gave her sweetest smile and promptly folded her hands behind her back. "We're all right, professor. Just had a little fumble this morning on the way to class, right Lainey?" Desi wouldn't actually call Elaine that name, but making Elaine look as innocent as possible was in their advantage. Well, as long as it wasn't to the point of suspicion. A simple nickname would make her seen more human. "You know how those stairs can be, professor."
