It was her third year and Kinsey just got out of charms class. She loved that class! Granted, Kinsey liked almost all of her classes, but charms was particularly fun for her. She liked the physical application, which was something she sorely missed when she was in the middle of History of Magic, for example. She walked along with a small group of friends from her house, smiling as her friends chattered constantly with one another.
As they walked, Kinsey felt her mood start to dwindle. Something was very wrong. She fell a little behind her classmates as she looked around her, trying to figure out what it was. Then she glanced behind her to see a group of people approaching, their intentions definitely not good. She felt her pulse start to race as a sense of foreboding washed over her and she rushed to catch up with her friends again. They weren't that far away. She should be able to reach them before .... nope.

Dom was going to figure out how that little brat kept successfully ignoring him. He figured that she may not notice him coming if he was in a group, so he led his friends down the hallway after her after Charms class had ended. They were laughing, joking, shoving people around, just the usual. His friends didn't know that his intention was to track Kinsey Bainbridge down undetected.
And it seemed to work, because before he knew it they were right up behind her, giving him the perfect chance to grab her arm and yank her down a side hallway, while his friends and the rest of the students kept going forward. He shoved her into the closest door, which happened to be a small closet, and stepped inside it himself, slamming the door shut behind him.
"Leaving class so soon? What, scared someone will catch you?"

Kinsey gasped when she felt someone grab her arm roughly, pulling her down a different hallway. She wanted to fight. She really, really did, but she couldn't get past the cruel intentions that were overwhelming her at his touch. Yes, she knew exactly who it was. Only one person had ever gotten this close to her with these sorts of intentions, despite how much she tried to get away from him. It was Dominic, from her year. Kinsey had no idea why, but ever since first year he'd tormented her and there was nothing she could do about it.
He threw her into a closet and then joined her inside, closing the door behind him. No one would be able to stop him now, not that anyone ever had. She tried to move as far away from him as she could, but it really was a small closet and there was hardly any space in there to begin with. She quivered in fear, knowing that she wasn't going to like what came next.
Despite that, Kinsey shook her head, trying to appear unphased. "No, I was just walking with my friends," she explained, though she knew it wouldn't do her any good. She was in trouble.

She was shaking. Of course she was. Pathetic. He reached his arm up and planted it on the wall right behind her, leaning in as she started to speak. She was trying to keep her cool. That was... interesting. "Friends? We both know you don't have many of those, Kins. And none were in that hallway with you," he said in a low growl.
"You've been successfully avoided me. Too successfully. How are you doing it? Just a scared little girl running anytime you see the big bad wolf come your way?" he taunted. Most of his bullying with Kinsey was verbal; taunting, bringing down, making fun of, focusing on her weaknesses. He was a bully to many, but not like this. There was no one he was worse to then Kinsey.

He was inches away from her and all Kinsey wanted was to escape, to get away from his low voice and poisonous words. It wasn't going to happen though. He wouldn't let it. Of course not, he got some sort of sick pleasure out of this. Kinsey took a deep breath, shaking her head at him. "You're wrong," she said in a small voice. She wanted to sound confident and strong, but she couldn't. Not with him so close. It was all too easy for him to get into her head these days, which was why she tried to avoid him.
"You expect me to come to you?" she asked, almost incredulously. Really? He didn't expect her to try and get away from him, to escape him? She wasn't going to tell him how though. She couldn't- wouldn't. Her secret, she would not give it to him.

Wrong? Wrong? Had she forgotten who she was talking to? How this worked? He let a low growl find a place in his throat. Then she sassed him again and he lifted his hand off the wall behind her just to slam it into a fist back on the wall again. "TELL ME WHAT YOU'RE DOING!" he said incredibly loudly, probably meaning that he didn't have much time before someone would find them in this closet. He would get something out of her, or just torment her until he got bored. Or both, whatever he could manage.

She'd said the wrong thing. Kinsey knew this instantly, the moment the words escaped her lips. He growled at her and his expression grew furious. She tried to move away from him but she was already backed up against the wall. There was nowhere to go. She flinched, turning her face away from him when he slammed his fist against the wall, a small squeal escaping her as she bit her lip to keep herself from crying out. That would only make things worse, she knew. "I know you want to hurt me," she held her hands up in front of her face, nervous that he would hit the wall again. "I just know." The terror was overtaking her then and even if Kinsey wanted to explain more- which she didn't- she wouldn't have been able to. Suddenly she tried to move past him, escape the closet. Anything to get away from him.

She really tried to get away? She was more pathetic by the second. She flinched and turned away. Good, that was a better reaction. He didn't like her not giving him the frightened little girl she'd always been. That's the reaction he was used to getting from her, and he liked that. He liked getting strong emotions from people, that's why he was so mean in the first place. Fear was the surest way to get people to pay attention to you. But if they were avoiding you... that wasn't what he wanted.
She said she knew he wanted to hurt her, which was... a strange way to explain it. Of course she knew, he wasn't secretive about his intentions to be cruel to her but... the way she said it, especially when she said "I just know." She was... hiding something, wasn't she?
But then she started to duck toward the door, and he was too distracted to stop her. The door opened and she made it out, and Dom just stared after her.
Well, if her knowing that he was trying to hurt her also made her know when he was on his way, then he'd just need to torment her in public places from now on, wouldn't he? Or, take those back paths she used to avoid the crowd... He sighed, leaning his head back of the wall inside the cupboard. Maybe, just maybe, he hadn't lost control of his favorite victim after all.
@kinsey (the end!)
