Edmund was sitting at the Slythering table during breakfast. He'd come late, as was his habit, because he didn't want to run into too many people and he definitely didn't want to run into Addi. Actually, he hadn't really seen her around lately, but he wasn't too concerned. He figured she was trying to avoid him, just like he was trying to avoid her. After their last fight, he'd stopped looking for her in classes or in the corridors, normally too angry to really pay attention to anything but the professor.
However, this morning he was a little nervous. His habit was to come early to meals and while he did that he hadn't run into her. Today, he'd been late. What if this was the normal time she came to eat? He took some food, eating it semi-quickly as he glanced around the Great Hall. There was no sign of her, which was strange, but also a sort of relief for him. Then he felt something and turned toward the door and his eyes connected with hers. For the first time in weeks, he was looking at Addilyn.
