Adonia always thought owls were pretty cute, and she didn't mind the fact that they could fend for themselves, either. They were kind of like her, in that way. She was in the Owlery now, a letter to her father clasped in her hand. She rarely wrote him while at school... but she was considering asking him to send some of that stash of tequila. The problem was, she was hesitating. And she wasn't sure why.
Her choice was made for her when she heard someone coming up the steps. She quickly attached the letter to an owls foot so she'd look busy as the person came up. Then, after the owl flew off, Adonia watched it fly for a moment before turning toward the newcomer.
Damn. She was beautiful.
"Well, hi," Adonia greeted softly, giving a short nod.

Owls were definitely not Diana's favorite form of communication. But, sometimes it was a necessary evil. Her parents in particular liked to hear from all of their children during the school year. So, Diana could force herself to use the school's owls every once in a while. At least to let her parents know that she wasn't dead or something. It wasn't like she could tell them about what she as up to after all. But coming up with believeable lies as to what she was doing (a trait she'd only been forced to pick up in the last year.) was a pain.
It'd taken at least four attempts to finally get a believeable slew of lies down on paper, and only then did she head up to the Owlry to bribe a school barnowl to carry the letter. She'd just reached the last step to the top when she heard someone up ahead. Probably someone like herself, writing to parents. Though, as she rounded the corner she found herself facing an unfamiliar girl. "Hello." she answered politely as she turned to a school owl and held out the folded up parchment in her hand to the bird.

The girl said hello, and a polite manner, and went on with her business of attaching something to an owl. Adonia just watched her for a moment, not saying anything just yet. She liked the way the girls muscles moved as she lifted her hands towards an owl, and the way her hair played against her cheekbone. Adonia knew that she was staring, and she didn't really care either way. She knew that, sadly, some people had issues with people staring at them. They didn't appreciate the attention the way Adonia did. So she looked away, but only for a moment before looking right back. "Writing home, I assume?" She said, hoping to spark up a conversation with this girl.
She didn't make to move any closer yet, for she was still gauging her. It was kind of exciting, the fact that she had literally no idea about this girl at all. That was her favorite thing about coming to Hogwarts. Everyone was fresh blood. In Durmstrang, unless they were a transfer student, she knew everybody within her first year pretty much. Maybe not completely knew them, but knew of them. Here it was like a Pandora's box of unlimited opportunity. And there was nothing she liked better than that.

Diana could practically feel the girl staring, but she did her best to ignore it. She could stare if she wanted, though why she wanted to stare was beyond her. Instead, she just acted as if nothing was off, making sure the letter was security before letting the owl take off, its wings carrying it out of the owlry, into the open sky outside and quickly out of sight. Diana just watched for a scrutinizing moment, before hearing the other girl speak again. Finally Diana turned and face her full attention to this stranger.
Her eyes were currently their natural brown as they slowly and meticulously traveled up and down, as if trying to decide what to think. She didn't know the girl, obviously. But that wasn't too surprising. There were plenty of students Diana didn't know. This particular one, but her guess must be a foreigner. The accent was a dead give away. "Yeah, what about You?" she answered once she seemed satisfied that she really didn't know this girl.

The girl surveyed her and Adonia didn't stop her. It was only fair. Plus, Adonia was pretty good at being surveyed, enjoyed it even. Then, the brown eyed beauty confirmed she was sending a letter home and asked what Adonia was doing. "The very same. My father doesn't really care much for letters'" she explained with a shrug, "but I find it necessary when I need something from him," she chuckled. Her father didn't really find her letters entertaining enough for him, and therefore rarely answered. However, she didn't care for writing that much anyway, so it wasn't the end of the world.
"I'm Adonia," she offered with a nod, "friends call me Doni," she offered with a soft smile. She took a step toward the girl now, tilting her head to the side a little. Her voice softened in volume, "what beautiful brown eyes," she complimented. Then she feigned a shy chuckle, "you probably get that a lot," she guessed.

The snippier side of Diana almost asked why this stranger would write letters if her father didn't care for them, but the question was answered quickly. Necessary when she needed something. Diana didn't really know what to make of that admittance, or how best to respond. "I see." She said once she'd decided that the simple response was probably the least offensive. "Well, I hope you get waht you are asking for then." She added as an after thought.
This stranger seemed determined to have an actual conversation, taking a step closer and introducing herself. She wouldn't consider herself this girl's friend, so Adonia would do just fine. "Diana." She slowly answered, offering her own name in return though she was taken back by the sudden compliment. Said brown eyes blinked.. before Diana scoffed a little. "No, not often." If anything most people considered her normal eye color boring and generic, especially when compared to the colors they could change. A fact this girl didn't know yet. "Are you from Beauxbaton or Durmstrang?" She asked casually, if only because the girl was in her path to the exit. It'd be a little too rude to push past after all.

The girl seemed to be polite enough, which was cute. She said she hoped Adonia got what she asked for and Doni just grinned, nodding in agreement. Then, the girl gave her name, Diana. "Like the goddess herself," Adonia said softly. Then, Diana was scoffing and saying that people didn't compliment her eyes often. That didn't make sense! Adonias jaw dropped just slightly in shock, but the she closed her mouth quickly. "Well, they should. They are quite lovely," she reiterated. People these days didn't know beauty when it was standing right in front of them!
Then, Diana asked what school she was from. "Durmstrang," Adonia said, giving a short bow. "Born and raised in Sweden. You look like a Hogwarts girl yourself," she guessed, considering the robes and the girls comfortableness in the owlery. "Now, I know you all have special houses and things, so I'm wondering which you belong to?" it was a good way to make out someones character.

Diana was getting a very strong vibe of being hit on. That this, Adonia, wanted more from Diana. But considering the heavy flirting anyone would feel the way she currently did. It was an almost ruthless, unyielding flirting. As if everything could be used, with no shame. Even Diana's own name. Diana wasn't too familiar with mythology but she did know Diana was a roman goddess. Being curious one day during a summer holiday she'd looked up what all her siblings names meant and stumbled upon the Roman origin. "There was plenty of people named Diana, but yes." she answered slowly. Actresses in the muggle film industry. Even a comic book character if she remembered correctly. As for her brown eyes being lovely... that almost depended on what mood she was in. There was nothing lovely about them when she was in a bad mood. "Only when I want them to be." she responded with a shrug. She wasn't shy about being a Meramorphmagi. Most people learned it pretty quickly since she couldn't control it entirely.
The bow was a little flamboyant, but as far as Diana could tell this girl was flamboyant by nature. It shouldn't be a surprise. Nodding as she was given the girl's origins, and then once more when Adonia mentioned her looking like a Hogwarts student. "Ravenclaw."

The girl spoke about how there were plenty of people named Diana, and Adonia chuckled. Adonia was part Greek, and liked classic literature, so it only made sense that she would make the connection to the goddess. Plus, being compared to a goddess was more of a compliment than other Dianas, she was sure. The girl added that her eyes were only like that when she wanted them to be. Adonias jaw dropped just slightly, "you can change your eye color?" awe, so the girl was a Metamorphagi then. Or maybe she just had a special trick with her eyes.
Diana answered Ravenclaw as to which Hogwarts house she was in, and Adonia nodded. "Lovely. I've only met a few people from your house... what was her name," she tried to remember the name of the girl she spent time with at the fair... "I can't remember! Anyway, she was lovely too. And Dominic Dippet, of course," how could she not. Look at the guy. Yum.
"Well, it is nice to meet you," Adonia said with a smile, "can I walk you somewhere?"

Diana wasn't really the sort to show off, otherwise she might have changed her appearance in some way in reaction to Adonia's surprise and words. Thankfully she wasn't vain like that, so she merely nodded.
Dominic's name being brought up didn't change Diana's expression in anyway. Over the years of their secret friendship she'd gotten good and feigning disinterest when he was brought up or pretending she didn't know him. How else would they have kept things secret for so long? But that didn't means she didn't feels a pang of jealousy. That this girl had spent time with her friend. Sometimes Diana wished she and Dominic had more time together and not just stolen moments when they were sure to be alone. So, she just forced herself to smile. "That's nice. There are plenty of students of Ravenclaw. I don't really know Dominic besides him being a year below me. It's possible I don't even know the girl you meant."
But, it was time to go. To no surprise Adonia was offering to escort Diana. "No, it's fine. It was nice to meet you." she immediately and politely declined as she moved to leave, fully believing that would be the last interaction she had with Adonia.
She was wrong.
-------- several encounters later--------
Diana hated this. Hated it with an absolute passion. It made her feel disgusted in herself. Elaine... had asked her to use Adonia. To gain access to the Durmstrang ship. And use Adonia in whatever way it took. Diana had tried to just be friendly at first. To try and use a normal route to get Adonia to show her the ship but it kept failing. That was when Elaine's order had started to tighten. Almost like a noose. Diana knew what it would take and she didn't want to do it. And yet... as soon as she'd realized what it would take she'd started to do it, unable to stop herself. That was how Elaine's control worked. It was absolute. No matter how much Diana didn't want to do it, or would happen one way or the other. And unfortunately it couldn't happen any other way.
So, Diana... let Adonia flirt with her. Accepting her advances. Letting Adonia push a little more each time. And Diana still hadn't gotten on the ship yet. There was only one thing left. So, her feet her carrying her. Without any thought or command from her down the stairs and across the entrance hall and out the front doors. Out of the corner of her eyes she actually spotted her sister Kinsey with Riley and immediately felt a moment of dread. Kinsey would feel her intentions. Dark. Dangerous. She shot Riley a dark glance, as if silently telling him to keep Kinsey away right now, before continuing on her way outside. She spotted Adonia in the court yard and donned a smile. "Adonia."

Eye color changing. Amazing. Diana confirmed that question with a nod, but didn't explain further. Diana said she didn't know Dominic and maybe didn't even know the other girl and Adonia pouted a little. "Well... maybe not," she agreed. Then, Diana declined her off and was off. "All the best!" Adonia called after her sweetly, waving by wiggling her fingers near her face, even though Diana was gone. ------ Adonia had been having quite a good time getting to know Diana Bainbridge. She found out that she was in fact the sister of Kinsey, the girl Adonia had met at the carnival. So, that was fun! Diana had slowly become more accepting of Adonias advances and flirting, and Adonia was extremely flattered. The girl was sweet but also incredibly sassy and well spoken. She was quite a piece of work, and Adonia admired her. It had been a fun time, for sure. Adonia often found herself actually using Diana as a distracting from all this... Brandon nonsense. Every time she had seen him the past week or two she wanted to talk to him and would decide to walk the other day, feeling angry as ever. She didn't know what that was about, so she'd find the next closest person to flirt with and somehow that was Diana more often than not. At the moment she was laughing with some of her classmates in the court yard when she heard her name and looked up. "Diana, darling," she greeted, standing to take the girls hand and bring it to her lips to kiss it, "how are you?" she asked, looking up at Dianas face through her eyelashes. @diana (@brandon -- there is a little paragraph about him in there you'll want to glance at just for reference.

If Diana could leave she would. But her feet remained rooted to the ground and that smile grew shy as Adonia raised her hand to kiss it. This wasn't Diana. Not one bit. But there was absolutely nothing to make you think that. Diana appeared to be a perfectly willing participant. Her gaze flickered to the other Durmstrang student Adonia had been speaking too, as if self conscious of there being an audience to Adonia's antics, before flickering back to Adonia. "Same as always, i suppose. You?" She wasn't much of a flirted. And no manner of order could give Diana the skill to be flirtatious, but thankfully that didn't matter. Adonia's reputation didn't say anything about only flirting with people who could flirt back.

Same as always. Well, Adonia hoped always was good. She moved closer to Diana, releasing her hand and moving to put an arm around her shoulders instead. "Better now. Why don't we go somewhere more private?" she suggested, grin still in place, as she started to steer Diana away from the group.
She had known Diana long enough now to know the girl was interested in her. She wasn't good at flirting or anything, but she sought Adonia out and was often sweet and easy to talk to. Adonia got the impression that Diana wanted to be even closer, and she was certainly fine with that. She liked Diana. Though, try to Adonia fashion, she still didn't even know the girls last name. She didn't bother to ask. Names really weren't that important, except for in whispers, and first names were good enough for that.

Well, at least Adonia didn't know anything was up. Not like she could though. When Adonia's arm moved to he shoulders Diana took a tentative and small step close, her fingertips brushing ever so lightly against Adonia's waist. The suggestion of finding someplace private was a relief and blessing. Relief that no one would witness what Diana was being forced to do but a blessing because maybe it would help her reach her goal. Of course she felt incredibly guilty about all of us. Adonia was... nice? Very head strong. And Diana was being forced to use her. In a way Adonia wasn't complaining about but in a way that Diana was completely uncomfortable.
So, Diana just nodded in agreement and moved with Adonia as she lead Diana away from the group. "There aren't many places to have any sort of privacy around here. Unless you know of a few?" Lie. Diana knew plenty of good hiding places but she was trying to go along with this. Make it seem like she was fine with being completely alone with Adonia. That she wanted to have a private moment with Adonia.

"I was thinking it's time I show you my home base," she said smoothly, giving a little giggle. "It's rather... comfortable," she added slyly. She led Diana to the boat, slowly leading her up the ramp and then down the stairs. She released Diana and took a few steps back, sitting on her bed and reaching over to pull the curtain part of the way around to hide half of her face, "wanna sit?" she offered, raising her still visible eyebrow at Diana. This would be the final test. If Diana wanted something to happen between them, this was the time for it. Adonia was ready and willing, no surprise there, and Diana was lovely and interested. She wouldn't mind, not one bit, adding the Hogwarts student to her collection. Plus, it would only bring them closer, right? And Adonia liked closeness.
