*current day child loss TW*
Things hadn't been easy for Odette. The last year had really been a whirlwind for the Cursebreaker. She had found she had several siblings through Fenrir Greyback, the man she had sworn to one day have killed. Some of those siblings she had really gone through some crap with. Even today, her relationship with her youngest brother was strained. Odette knew it wasn't easy finding out you had siblings out there from one of the most dangerous beings in the wizarding world. There was bad, but then there was good. And in a time in her life when Odette wasn't so sure what was going on with her family drama, she found solace in her relationship with her old best friend Jacob Albertson.
Jacob and Odette had been best friends during their days in school, and when they met up again it was like a spark kindled like never before. Before they knew it, they were out drinking together and going out on dinner dates and snogging on the couch like teenagers. One thing led to another and then Odette had to make a decision she never thought she would have to make so early in her life. But she loved Jacob, and knew that her age was the only thing that was holding her back and what a silly thing age was! So, she decided to break the news to Jacob. He was going to be a father. They were going to be parents.
Obviously Jacob had taken the news well, and Odette found herself actually excited to be a mother. She made arrangements at work to start working in the bank instead of out in the field to protect her and the baby and things were going great. She and Jacob were even getting ready to move in together. Then one day, Jacob went off to work and Odette kissed him goodbye like any other day and she went off to work herself. It was that afternoon that an urgent owl came to Odette, urging her to come to the Ministry. So she left and headed there. She never expected to hear the news she did when she got there.
Jacob had been killed. His job had always come with its risks, but Odette never thought that something like that would happen to her. Jacob was killed in action and Odette was going to be a single parent.

Gringott's agreed to give her as much time as she need to mourn, as well as arrange maternity things. But Odette found that doing it all on her own was heartbreaking. She had no idea she was going to have to do this all on her own, it wasn't something she had planned for and she began to feel so much stress from the thoughts weighing down on her of how she was going to work and raise the baby alone, how her family would react to having a niece or nephew, or what her grandparents would say when she finally told them. There was so much going on in Odette's life, and then she started to feel abormal cramps. Odette wasn't a doctor by any measure of the word, but she knew she had to see one.
Odette decided she didn't want to have to deal with the St. Mungo's staff and waiting rooms, so she visited a muggle urgent care doctor's office. It was there that she got the news that she had, unfortunately, lost her baby.
In just a few short months, Odette's life had turned completely upside down. And just when she thought that she was gaining so much new love in her siblings, she was losing so much at the same time and she was absolutely broken by it all.
