Andy was a moron.
No, not really, but she had made a mistake. It wasn't a lot of blood. Enough that she probably could have fixed it herself, but she preferred to let a professional handle the situation. She made her way toward the Hospital Wing, the violin in one hand and the other hand clenched tight with fabric wrapped around her bleeding palm so that she didn't drip everywhere. She knew she'd have to fix the violin later, since it wasn't hers, but she was sure she could do that. She had spent years doing maintenance on her own and this was no different. Sometimes wood just splintered out. A sharp shard was exposed on the side of the violin where it had broken, and that's where she had cut herself. She wished it was her own violin, at least, so she didn't feel as bad about busting it.
She was almost to the wing when she saw Liona up ahead. She stopped walking. Andy had been the captain of the Orchestra Club before all this... Liona was there. Liona was talented. Liona was good.
She kept walking, having not decided yet if she was going to duck her head down or not.

Liona had awakened with a serious headache that morning. She assumed it was from all of the tiny print she'd been staring at in dim lighting while trying to study for N.E.W.Ts. It wasn't as if she didn't know that doing so was bad for eyesight, she just hadn't had any issues doing so previously so she thought she'd be fine after one more time of doing it. The pain was piercing through her brain and no amount of rubbing at her temples had helped the pain go away throughout the day. It had lasted so long and had been a bother for her during her classes that as soon as she was freed, she decided to go to the hospital wing to see if the head nurse had anything that could cure the painful headache. The walk wasn't too bad from her final class to the medical wing and within minutes she'd been seen and give a vial of a too sweet tasting potion that cured the headache in just a few minutes. The nurse had her stay just a bit longer to monitor her for any bad side effects and once she was cleared to go, she was out of the door. She felt refreshed, like she could get some more studying done before she headed down to get a bite to eat but pondered if she really wanted to jump back in so soon. Strolling away from the Hospital Wing, she noticed that Andromeda Lestrange was headed towards the doors that lead to the nurse. Mere seconds later the girl spotted her as well and paused. That was a strange reaction. Liona went to wave but noticed that she was holding... a broken violin? "Oh no, what happened to your violin?" Liona mused just loud enough for her to hear. Such a sad thing to happen to an instrument. She wondered how it'd gotten that way. She then noticed the bandaged that the girl was squeezing in her hand; even at the edges of her palm it was tinged with blood. Liona cringed a bit. "Even better, what happened to your hand?"

Lions addressed her first, which saves Andy from having to make the decision to converse or not. Andy didn't get a chance to answer the first question, before the second question was asked. "Oh, it's not mine... It's the schools," she said, not that this really answered any of the questions. She clenched her bleeding hand a little tighter and held it at her side. "I hit it," she finally relented with a sigh, "against a chair. Luckily it didn't break anymore than this," she looked down at the violin, her eyes starting to sting a little.
She hadn't meant to do it... Really. She didn't plan ahead of time to get frustrated and swing the violin at the nearest piece of furniture. And then cut herself while frantically trying to fix it.
She looked back up at Liona. "Are you okay?" she felt terrible for thinking of herself first. Liona was leaving the hospital wing, after all.

At Andy's response to her first question about the violin, Liona didn't feel bad about thinking the violin must have been cheap if it was in the school's possession and for it to break so easily. She had to have dropped it, somehow, and it must have splinted the way it did. The Gryffindor then clarified that she'd hit the instrument against a chair and Liona's eyebrows raised. "On purpose? Or did it slide from under your chin," Liona felt the need to ask for clarification because it was rather odd. She knew Andy had been playing the instrument for a while so it didn't seem easy for her to make a mistake with it. She knew the proper ways to hold and grip the violin. Her body was used to holding itself in the standard positioning as well so she should not have had any issues.
Liona gave a polite smile at the concern she showed. "I'm perfectly okay. One potion and I'm back to normal. What's more pressing is the current wound on your hand, would you like me to accompany you?" Liona asked? She didn't really need to go with Andy to Madame Blacksmith's office. It was a cut on her palm, it could be healed in no time. Her curiosity seemingly got the better of her and she wanted to know what was going on with the Gryffindor though so she asked anyway.

Lionas eyebrow raised and she questioned how the violin came to be that way. "On purpose," Andy admitted honestly. She realized how she must have sounded, so callous and uncaring about her actions. But she was just trying to keep a level head. She didn't want to freak out externally as much as she was internally.
Liona then said she was okay, and that she got fixed up fast. Andy nodded, but Liona changed the subject to Andy's own hand now. She even offered to go with Andy. Oddly enough... She really did. She normally would have declined the offer but... "that would be nice, Liona," her eyes stung a little. "Ma-maybe you could take this violin?" she didn't hold it out, though, she just kept it at her side. What was wrong with her!? She was suddenly feeling incredibly overwhelmed with emotion and the main emotion leading it was some kind of intense gratitude at Lionas offer to stay with her. She felt her hands started to tremble and she took in a deep breath. "Please take it," she whispered. Oh great, here she was acting like a crazy person again.

Liona was a little bit surprised at the Gryffindor's honesty about how the violin shattered but even still her confirmation didn't explain much about the situation or why it had come about. She'd smashed the violin herself. It was one of the school's violins so it wasn't personal. Had she just been frustrated because she couldn't master a piece? Liona didn't say any of her thoughts out loud, only nodded to confirm that she'd heard the girl's response. She didn't sound as if she felt any remorse about breaking the violin so why should Liona care about it?
After Liona offered to go with her, Liona watched as the situation transformed into one that was a just a bit overwhelming. Liona had expected the Gryffindor to decline the offer out of politeness but the Gryffindor girl accepted instead. Her eyes turned slightly red, as if she was on the verge of crying and she asked Liona to take the violin from her though she did not hold it out for her to take. She kept her arm that held the violin planted firmly at her side. Liona stood expectantly, waiting for her to hold out the violin but she noticed the girl began to tremble. Liona furrowed her brow, thinking that she would drop the violin soon if she didn't hand it over when her voice came out rather quietly in a plead that Liona take the broken instrument from her hands. Liona hesitantly reached out and pulled the splintered wood from the girl's grasp, holding it in one hand before he pointed towards the nurse office. "Please proceed," she commented simply. What a strange reaction. Maybe she should not have gotten involved after all. She would have never imagined that her offer would turn into this. And now she was left to at least ensure that she was okay.

Lions took the violin, even though it took her a moment. Andy could understand that. She knew she was hard to be around when she was like this. Liona pointed toward the nurses office and Andy took a deep breath, nodding and moving forward. Liona said she would come, so Andy didn't bother turning to chek if the Slytherin was following her.
The nurse patched her up quickly, saying it was an easy fix. The bleeding was stopped and the wound was fixed up, almost as if it hadn't been there in the first place. Andy felt incredibly silly during all of it, and afterward left the nurses offices and chuckled a little, shaking her head and turning to Liona. "Thanks for taking that. I can fix it up now that I have two functioning hands," she explained, her voice still a little soft.
"And... I'm sorry about making you take it like that," she added. That was another thing therapy said to do. Acknowledge when she was having a break down. "I was kind of freaking out," she shook her head, then looked back at Liona. "Want to join me while I fix it?"

Andromeda took another deep breath before moving forward and Liona took one of her own, quiet enough so that the girl didn't register just how hassled Liona felt by the position she'd been put in. She was not emotionally equipped to deal with someone else's freak out at the moment. Yet she still moved her feet and followed the girl deeper into the Hospital Wing to locate the nurse. It wasn't a long time between then and the nurse healing the wound in her hand. Liona waited patiently on standby, the violin still in her grip as the nurse fixed her up with a simple spell. Once the nurse had finished up, Liona followed her back out of the offices.
Andromeda chose then to thank her for her assistance, saying that she was now able to fix up the violin because she'd been removed of her wound and Liona nodded and gave a polite smile. She then went on to apologize, explaining that she'd been freaking out earlier. That fact had been obvious to her but she didn't say that out loud. "I am happy to assist you. Where do you plan on going to fix it? And are you certain you grabbed all of the pieces," Liona held up the pieces of the violin she held, examining the jagged edges. If she'd smashed it against something on purpose and cut her hand in the process, it was quite possible that she may have left some of the pieces behind. If that was the case, the violin wouldn't be fixable until the rest were gathered. She was holding her tongue; she really wanted to ask what had triggered her freak out but she was unsure if she wanted to risk the possibility of triggering another and having to take her back to the nurse.

Liona said she would assist and then asked Andy if she had all the pieces. Andy frowned, "no... No I think I left them back in the muggle studies room," she answered. "I'll probably just head back there to fix it," she nodded, slowly reached forward to gingerly take the pieces back from Liona. Once she had them firmly, she gave a nod and turned to head out of the wing.
She had no doubt that Liona and the nurse were both interested to know what exactly had happened. The nurse didn't ask many questions, knowing Andy all too well already and also not wanting her to have an episode. She really should only be talking to her mental health professionals about the details but she was also human, so if she felt comfortable enough she may tell Liona. Depending how their excursion went. For now, Andy was just fine with fixing the violin. "How has orchestra been?" Andy asked. She was sure Liona was still there.

Liona listened as Andy stated that she'd left some of the pieces back in the Muggle Studies pieces. She was going to head there in order to fix it and Liona would have to follow her in order to get any more information on what had overcome her in the wake of her destroying the instrument. When Andy reached out for the violin, Liona almost moved the pieces out of her reach. She could hurt herself again or she might do further damage to it, she wasn't sure. Something was telling her to keep it in her own hands. The Gryffindor grabbed it instead before she started walking towards the Muggles Studies classroom.
"It's been going well actually. We decided, as a whole, that we liked the song selection that you'd created and since it was so late it made little sense for us to make alterations so we've been sticking with that. Will you be joining us again?" Liona's reply was casual and polite as she talked about the orchestra. They hadn't been given any honest answer on why the Gryffindor had stepped down as captain but it had been late. The co-captain had been told to act as captain and no one held a strong enough opinion on why that shouldn't be the case so it had been set in stone.

Andy nodded, swallowing hard as Liona mentioned her song selection. She had forgotten about that. For a brief moment, the song titles and sounds ran through her head, and she developed a small smile at the thought of them. It was some beautiful music, really beautiful. She was trained to have high taste, of course, but she had also chosen some songs that her teacher and her parents didn't really care for. Some pieces by more obscure composers. Songs that moved to her more than the classics did. She was so lost in them for a moment, that she almost didn't catch Liona asking her if she was going to come back. She had been gone for four months, and she was so out of practice...
"I... Hadn't thought about it," she answered honestly. "There has just been so much going on that I... I'm sorry I left without a warning," she finally said, more firmly. "There are reasons," she said slowly. "I promise. And, as you can see," she held up the violin, "apparently violins give me anger management issues," she was attempting to make a joke, even though it was true, but she couldn't manage a laugh.

Everything was coming together a bit curiously. She admitted that she hadn't actually thought about coming back to orchestra club and with just the pieces of information Liona had gathered from this interaction, she understood why. If she reacted with anger when coming into contact with the instrument she couldn't imagine her being productive at all when it came time for practices or performances. Captain or not, every member of the orchestra was important. Just having one person unable to focus was noticeable.
Liona nodded in understanding as she apologized for abrupt departure. "Your apology is appreciated but not necessary. I know you had your reasons; I know you to be more courteous than that so I expected nothing less from you," she replied honestly. Andromeda then confessed what Liona had already surmised. Violins were causing an uncontrollable anger in her. She attempted the words to come off in jest but she herself did not laugh, nor did Liona. "What brought this about?" Liona did not hold back her blunt questioning. If the Gryffindor decided not to tell her, that was fine. It wasn't as if Liona was criticizing her for her actions. She was just curious, as she often was when she came upon information she hadn't quite made sense of.

Liona said her apology wasn't necessary and that she understood there were reasons and Andy just nodded once, gratefully. Then Liona asked why, about the violin anger management issues. Andy kept her eyes up ahead as they walked. "I guess a lot of it has to do with my childhood... It was my only friend for so many years but it still wasn't in my control," her mother and teachers tried to make her confirm to a certain classical style of playing. "And I just have lost touch with it. I tainted it," she added slowly.
She took a a teaching breath before continuing, "I guess I just forgot about the good parts. I'll find them again, I'm sure. My friend Jamie helped," she turned toward Liona. "Jamie Greyback in our year," she explained, in case Liona didn't know who that was. "She's one of my best friends and she's helped me try to... figure things out," she added, looking forward again.

"Tainted. Hmm." Liona spoke the words out loud but she'd mostly said them to herself in thought. She'd thought that she'd somehow tainted her playing? How strange, her word choice. How could she have tainted her playing? Unless there were some bits and pieces of the story that she was missing, which, Liona could see happening easily. They didn't know each other well and Andy had never seemed like the type to share her life freely. She'd admitted that it was her only friend as a child, and Liona could understand that. Pureblood and all. A stereotype existed and most pureblooded families fit it when it came to childhood.
Liona continued walking and listening intently as the Gryffindor spoke about how she would find her love for violin again. And then she listened closer when she mentioned Jamie. Jamie Greyback.. The same Jamie Greyback that was in their year and the same Jamie Greyback that Liona was seeing. Apparently Jamie and Andy were best friends. Liona couldn't say she was completely surprised; Jamie did have a love for Gryffidors. Liona has seen Jamie with Andy before as well, she didn't know they were that close though. The way Andy talked about her though, Liona could see that Jamie hadn't told her about the two of them. It didn't really matter to Liona, it wasn't if she had told Scorpius, or anyone else really, about the two of them. She'd tell her if she wanted and Liona wouldn't be the one to break the news to Andy. "It's good that you have someone trying to help you find your passion of the instrument again. Have you two just been attempting to play?" Liona asked curiously.

Liona repeated the word 'tainted' which was no surprise to Andy. It was a weird way to phrase something, but Andy stood by it, and didn't elaborate. Then Liona said it was good that she had someone to try and help her, asking if they had just been attempting to play. "She played a song for me," Andy said, a slight blush forming on her cheeks. That often happened when she spoke of her friendship with Jamie. "And... it just reminded me of what I was missing, I guess. Here we are," she announced as they arrived at the Muggle Studies classroom.
Andy stepped in, setting the violin on a desk and looking for any other pieces pieces. Just a flew splinters, here and there, "oh, this will be an easy fix. I need to get my own sometime so that I don't risk this with borrowed ones," she chuckled. She was feeling better now that her hand was patched up and she had all the pieces. She looked to Liona, "do you want to help?"
