Classes were done for the day and Rosie Williams was ecstatic! She didn't hate school per say, but she definitely could think of other ways to spend her time. She was very conflicted about the thought of having to graduate and leave Hogwarts in a few months, she was very over classes and assignments, but she didn't want to ever have to leave the castle. She loved it. She loved her common room and her dorm, it felt so homey to her, sometimes even more so than her actual home. She had spent most of the last 7 years of her life in this castle and she was partly terrified about being on her own and finding a job, especially since her desired job wasn't one that was advertised often.
Rosie was on her way down to the common room to drop off her books before she went to dinner. She walked with a few books in her arms and her bag also full of supplies down to the entrance hall before she tripped on air and fell onto the stone ground, tossing her books as she did so. Rosie gave a groan, she had a scrape on her right forearm as it caught the full brunt of her fall, but besides that she was okay and she was just lucky that she hadn't hit her head, she had just finally gotten over her concussion that Adonia gave her. "Lovely." Rosie sighed and began to scramble and pick up her books before any of the other students around stepped on them.

Potions class was one of the few classes that didn't absolutely bore Iggy to death. They had just finished covering the Hiccoughing solution in class and while it wasn't one of the more "fun" ones, Ichabod loved the class so he was almost always at full attention. And for those who knew Iggy, that was a hard feat to accomplish with the Slytherin. But now Iggy was on his way up to the library to rent out a book about wandlore, another thing he secretly found very interesting. He was done with classes so he planned to just pop in and out of the library, he thought, as he crossed the Entrance Hall that was particularly empty except for what looked like a brunette Hufflepuff crossing the hall the same time and - oh, she fell.
Iggy had watched the Hufflepuff girl trip and fall, her books falling to the floor. Ig's eyebrows rose and it took about five seconds until Iggy jogged over to the Hufflepuff. "Oi," Iggy bent down and grabbed one of her books that had fallen furthest away from her. "You alright? You took a right nasty fall, there," he offered an arm to help the girl up. He could remember seeing this girl around before, but he had never spoken to her. So, he had no reason to believe he shouldn't be helping her up off of the ground.

Rosie felt so embarrassed and flushed. She hadn't been clumsy like this in years. Back during her first couple of years at Hogwarts, while she was still growing into her body, her long legs often got in the way and messed up her ability to walk, and she would often find herself on her butt with scrapped knees or a concussion of sorts. She hadn't been to visit the hospital wing for a while though, well, that was up until her run in with the Durmstrang girl that sent her to the hospital wing with a few broken bones, lots of bruises and a pretty big concussion that left her with a splotchy memory about that night. Even while she knew her cheeks were likely a bright red, she was glad she hadn't injured her head anymore. She didn't want to spend another night in the hospital wing.
A young man came up to her and picked up one of her books that she began to scramble for. "Thank you." Rosie said, accepting his help back to her feet and stuffing what she could pack into her bag. "Yeah, I'm alright. I guess I wasn't watching where I was going well enough." she admitted, feeling even worse that someone had seen her. She knew the man a little, well, she knew his face from seeing him around, he thought that he had probably heard his name before, but she couldn't remember, hopefully that wasn't a result of her concussion. Rosie bent down to pick up another one of her books and began to rebuild the stack in her arms. "Thanks for helping me, that was very sweet of you." she insisted, taking a second to look at the young man wearing Slytherin robes. "I'm Rosie Williams. And, normally I'm a little more graceful." she held her hand out for him to shake if he wanted, balancing her pile of books on just the one arm in the mean time.

Normally if Ichabod witnessed someone fall down in the fashion in which this brunette just had, he probably would have looked the other way and continued on with his day. But something about this girl really told he ought to stick around to help her up. So Iggy was feeling rather awkward, as it was something he didn't normally do but he was sure he could work past that. Especially since the girl was pretty cute, too!
Iggy nodded once and smiled briefly at the girl as she thanked him. He let out one small chuckle at the girl's admittance of not watching where she was going. Iggy shrugged still holding onto one of her books as she thanked him again. "It's no problem," he said nonchalantly. It really wasn't, he realized. Normally, maybe it would be. But this time he found he didn't feel any sort of inconvenience at all. The girl introduced herself then and a lightbulb went off. He recognized her name, he realized. She was a year ahead of him. "Nice to meet you Rosie, I'm Iggy," he accepted her handshake with a smile and then his eyes darted to her arms full of books. "Do you need help carrying those - ?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at the Hufflepuff.

Rosie was glad that if anyone was seeing her in this situation, it was someone that she didn't know very well, but also someone who seemed to be really nice about it rather than just laugh and step over her, as much as she hated when she made a fool of herself like this, she liked to see the best in people and the best in every situation, and the nice thing about this situation, was 1) she didn't hit her head. 2) the person was nice enough and seemed like a person that Rosie would genuinely like.
He insisted that it was no problem and she responded, "you're very kind." as she situated her books so they would fit in her stack well enough. She was glad when he told her his name, it sounded familiar, she knew he wasn't in her year, but he couldn't be that much younger than her, likely just one year below, and obviously not in her house, as he was wearing Slytherin robes. "The pleasure's all mine." she gave him a sweet smile. She glanced at him and realized that he still hand one of her books in his arms. "Oh... uh... no it's okay... I mean, you don't have to... You don't want to walk all the way to the Hufflepuff Commons, do you? You were on your way up..." she remembered, feeling a little tempted to take him up on his offer, but really not wanting to inconvenience him in any way.

It wasn't very often that people called Iggy kind, so when this girl did it make his cheeks turn the slightest bit of pink. Iggy didn't think he was a very kind guy, and maybe he wasn't - but he wasn't entirely heartless either. Ig smiled back at Rosie when she gave him a smile herself. She had a pretty infectious smile, he was realizing. Ig didn't usually smile so much around strangers. When the Hufflepuff seemed unsure of whether to accept his offer, Iggy waved a hand as if to brush her worries away. "It's no problem, I wasn't on my way to do anything important," he shrugged. And really, he wasn't. Perhaps it was a good thing he didn't go to the library, anyway, since he didn't need to stake his reputation being caught in the library studying wandlore for fun. "It'd be my pleasure," he repeated her own words back to her with a grin.

Rosie had a good feeling about this guy. She liked him. He was cute and sweet and she honestly had met many members of Slytherin who bothered themselves to help others and wouldn't take no for an answer. She didn't dislike Slytherin house, she respected all houses for their positive traits and acknowledged that all houses had negative traits associated with them as well. Hufflepuffs, for example, could be seen as annoying or silly, or... clumsy, in her case. Even though Slytherin's were associated with being self-centered, it didn't mean they all had to be. Every group had stereotypes, and stereotypes were meant to be broken. "If you really don't mind, then yes, I would actually really appreciate a little bit of help." she admitted. She didn't normally carry this many books, however, she was still getting caught up from her time spent in the hospital wing and the few days of class that she had to miss, she was just glad that Brandon had been able to find her bag so she didn't loose all of her work and supplies. A little part of her began to realize that she was walking alone with another person that she didn't know, and the last time she had done this, it ended with her being tortured before falling unconscious and waking up in a hospital bed. However, she wasn't locked away in a tower with this man, they were walking down public halls, she was fairly sure she was safe. She held out her stack for him to take a few more books. "So where were you headed, if you don't mine me asking?" she asked, making conversation as they began to walk.

When the Hufflepuff accepted his offer of help, Iggy smiled. "I don't mind at all," he replied as he grabbed a few of the books from the stack in her hands that she offered him. What kind of guy would he be if he had let this girl trip and fall, and then still have to walk all the way to her common room after that? Plus, Iggy would probably never admit it but he found most Hufflepuffs rather endearing. Not too many of them were like the blokes in his own house or Gryffindor. Or even the pompous know-it-alls in Ravenclaw. And this girl seemed like a genuine badger. Iggy walked right beside the girl, Rosie, as she began making conversation by asking where he was headed. Being one that wasn't good at small talk, Iggy had not expected that question to come up so quickly so it caught him a bit off guard. "Uh," he thought for a moment. "I was just headed up to grab a book I needed for Potions class." There, that wasn't entirely a lie. Could Hufflepuffs sense when you were lying? He hoped not.

Rosie hadn't mean to catch the young Slytherin off guard by her question, she thought it was innocent enough, however, Rosie was a fairly straight forward individual, a happy, smiling, honest Hufflepuff, with a very small athletic side available to only those who managed to get her on the pitch. She would never play Quidditch, flying made her anxious, but give her a soccer ball or football and she would run (and likely fall) and play with the best of them. She had no talent when it came to sports, not even a lick, but, she did enjoy them. It had always been a surprise part of her personality. It wasn't a surprise that she wrote the sports reviews in the Hogwarts Student Newspaper, but she couldn't imagine that anyone who read her articles would think that the little brunette in the photo next to her author credit would be willing to get muddy and sweaty with the athletes. Even with zero talent, she was full of passion. He told her he had been on his way to find a book for potions class and she nodded, "potions is tough, I always have to do a bit of outside class studying too." She shrugged, "you're a 6th year, right?" she asked. "Do you want to do something involving potions as a job?" she added, just being her normal, ever curious self.

Iggy had no reason to be so secretive. He wasn't anyone too important where people were wondering what Ichabod Nash was planning to do after school; much less that he wanted to be a wandmaker, but for some reason Iggy had always felt self-conscious about his interest in the subject. It was the one thing he enjoyed above all else, while potions came a close second. But Ig did have quite the reputation to uphold. He was usually seen as some "devil may care" type, always smoking a cigarette in the corner of the courtyard or something. It wasn't exactly typical for a muggleborn like him to want to become a wandmaker.
Iggy nodded when Rosie asked if he was a sixth year. "I am," he said as they walked along the corridor. Then the Hufflepuff asked if he wanted to do something involving potions as a career. It took a short moment for Iggy to find the words in order to respond. "Uh, well I definitely enjoy potions," he began. "But I'm not exactly sure what I'd do for my career one day." He mumbled a bit sheepishly. "I've got another year to figure it out I guess," he shrugged and then looked to Rosie. "What about you? You're a seventh year, yeah? What do you want to do?"

That was something the two had in common, even if they didn't know it yet. They both had career goals that they felt self-cautious about. Rosie was this dainty, small girl who looked like falling down the stairs would have broken every bone in her body. She was of course, a little tougher than that. But strong bones was about the only thing that was strong about her. She wasn't strong willed, she was easily swayed with her beliefs, well, most of them. Politically, her views were strong. She was very anti-blood purity. Her father was a muggle and she loved him and she loved what she knew of the muggle world. She was also very emotionally weak. She cried at the drop of a hat. She was surprised that she wasn't crying currently after her little fall earlier. Perhaps because she was in unfamiliar company and she hadn't really hurt herself she just felt a little embarrassed.
He said he was unsure about what he wanted to do for his career and she couldn't blame him. She knew for a lot of people it was difficult to make that decision. She was one of the lucky ones who already knew what she wanted to do. However, she was also in a weird spot with it. Her ideal job worked in both worlds, but also connected both worlds. Which meant she was basically stuck either work for two papers, or not writing about a majority of the worlds sports. "Oh, I plan on going in journalism." she admitted. "Sports Journalism." she clarified.

Iggy was fairly surprised by Rosie's answer for her career choice. Honestly he had expected her to say something more in the wizarding world. Coming from a muggle family, he knew that that particular career could work in either the wizarding world or the muggle world and he wondered if perhaps she, too, was muggle born. "Wow, that's definitely an interesting choice," he commented. "Are you... muggle born?" He asked only slightly hesitantly. With everything that had recently gone on in their world, he wasn't sure if that was an acceptable question to ask anymore or not. Lots of people knew he was because he was a Slytherin, but with Hufflepuffs you could really go either way.

Rosie wasn't shocked by his curiously in her career choice. She got that often. However the muggle born question did catch her a bit off guard. Was this some sort of trap? He was a Slytherin, and while she really tried not to judge or assume anything of anyone, she knew a lot of Slytherin students had been involved in the kidnappings and murderings that happened last year. It made sense as the movement was one of pureblood-pride. "Uh, nope. I'm halfblood." she insisted, maybe a little too quickly. She had already been attacked and ended up in the hospital wing once this year and she wasn't looking to give anyone a reason to do it again. She hated though that she had an out when it came to the attacks. She wasn't muggle born. She did have a muggle parent though. "My dad's a muggle though and he's really into sports." she told him. She was bad at keeping personal information to herself. She knew that was how she ended up in the hospital wing last time; she had disclosed that she wasn't good at defensive magic. "We watched American football on TV almost every weekend of the season." she added.
