A slight breeze wafted through the courtyard as students walked around, most headed to their respective classes. It was an hour past lunch, and Sebastian Gregory Goyle was sitting on one of the many stone benches scattered around the area. The Hogwarts courtyard was a particularly busy place this time of day, but contrary to what one might think, it was actually a pretty peaceful place to eat one's lunch. The students going about were mostly too busy to stop and talk to you once you were there, and the people who weren't headed elsewhere were usually with their own friends or want to be alone. Overall it was an area where everyone left each other to their own devices, and at the moment, that was what Seb needed.
Ever since the start of the deaths at Hogwarts, an unease had managed to ingrain itself into Seb's head. At first he'd dismissed it as a primitive reaction to something unexpected. Fear of the unknown. As the attacks continued though, he noticed a pattern in the victims. They were muggleborns. It was then that the unease he'd felt at the beginning of the chaos became clear to Seb. It was another purist movement, rising again on the heels of the old one. The mere thought of it brought an unholy combination of emotions to Seb. Anger, confusion, and disgust.
Now though, those unmitigated emotions and all around raw unpleasantness were more focused. He wanted to find out who was involved in this movement, specifically if his parents had anything to do with it. To him it was a foregone conclusion, but he was smart enough to realize that he needed proof. The problem was he had no idea how to do that. He was determined to fight against this new purist movement, and it irked him greatly to feel so helpless in his goal. Specially when he was used to figuring out particularly creative ways to complete his objectives.
Thus the courtyard lunch.
He took a particularly aggressive bite of his sandwich as he stared off into nothingness, wracking and willing his brain to come up with something, anything that he could do.
