Shawn just smiled as Callisto commented on his outfit and adding that she was in uniform so if he would have looked fancy she would have felt silly. That didn't make him want to be dressed fancy in this moment any less for a moment. Sure he didn't want her to feel silly or foolish, just have some fun but he wouldn't say the idea wasn't entertaining to think about. "This is true but the uniform suits you, very professional looking." It wasn't a lie or joke either but with how serious Callisto had always been of course something professional would suit her perfectly. "Me on the other hand, I appear to be applying for a very important position. It would help if I was in some fancy dress robes or a suit at the very least. Granted I'd have to get a dress robe or a suit but still." Shawn explained with a laugh as he was sure he had one of both of those somewhere in his closet but he hadn't seen them in sometime.
"Sounds good to me just make sure to bring plenty of treats." Shawn joked with Callisto while laughing. He was the one to joke about doing dog tricks as a human, who would he be to try and back peddle from that now. Besides if she would find it amusing it wasn't in his nature to try and stop that from happening. He had certainly spent much of his time trying to be amusing to himself and others. Luckily he happened to be easily amused. "I'm an excellent teacher after all so if you want lessons on how to do some tricks I can help you there too, like you said, it'd be amusing." Shawn teased Callisto a bit more, this was certainly turning into an interesting conversation with someone he hadn't expected to be having it with.

She furrowed her brows in disbelief at him as she said the uniform suited her. She could tell he was being genuine. "Thank you," she said before he started speaking out himself, saying that being her friend was a 'very important position'. She shook her head, "I like this just fine," she said, nodding toward his outfit. "Maybe one of these days we can see each other in our fancier clothes," she shrugged, not really thinking about how that could have sounded like a date invitation or something. Shawn told her to bring plenty of treats for him to show her the tricks and she laughed, shaking her head again. "What kind of treats do you like? As a human, I mean," she asked. Then he said he was an excellent teacher and how he could teach her how to do some tricks, too. "I don't do tricks," she said, a little flatly. shawn lesley ashcroft

Shawn had noticed the face she made at his comment about liking her uniform, he was tempted to say something but decided against it right now. "If you like it than I suppose it was the right thing to wear today." Shawn replied, he was mildly joking about being fancy but it was nice to know Callisto didn't mind what he was wearing. It as just his normal clothes after all. She followed it by suggesting that one day they meet up in their fancier clothes. "Sounds good to me, I'll be on the look out for a good excuse to be fancy. Fancy gala, elegant dinner party or just make other people feel under dressed." Shawn replied with a smirk, all of which didn't sound too bad even if it just wasn't his type of thing.
"Chocolates always good, which is odd when you think about it. As a human I love it and as a dog it could kill me I think... I haven't been brave enough to test it." Shawn laughed as if he was kidding but he had wondered that exact question more times than he could count. It was a theory and he wasn't willing to risk his life over something so silly. "I'd also never hear the end of it if I almost died to chocolate of all things." Knowing the many people he considered friends even his oldest friends there would be a moment of worry followed by nonstop laughs at his expense if he would be fine. Callisto brought up she didn't do tricks and Shawn couldn't tell from her tone if she was playing along or was getting annoyed at the idea of her doing tricks. "That's fine with me, I'm used to working with blank slates. Besides if you don't want to that's fine too. I can't have you taking my job as the fun one this quickly."

He said that he supposed it was the right thing to wear and she rolled her eyes again. She was starting to realize just how much she did that with him and wondered if she did it a lot in the rest of her daily life, too. He said he'd be on the lookout for an excuse to be fancy and she chuckled at his final suggestion. "I'm sure we'll think of something, Shawn. We're both creative in our own right," she added. He was funny and made up jokes and pranks, that was creative, and she was... well, she solved medical mysteries, that was kind of creative too, right? In a way. She didn't really think she was that creative, but maybe the two of them could come up with something to do together. He said chocolate was good, even though as a dog he couldn't eat it. She shook her head, "only if you stayed a dog long enough for it to process through your system. If you transformed back into a human within less than five hours you would be perfectly fine," she explained. "And it takes an excessive amount to kill a dog -" she paused, "you're just joking, aren't you?" her brows furrowed and her face reddened a little with embarrassment. Of course she would go on a medical tangent. He said he was used to working with blank slates, but added that it was fine if she didn't want to learn tricks and that she couldn't take his job as the fun one. "You can teach me jokes, Shawn," she leaned forward slightly, "but no tricks," she confirmed. shawn lesley ashcroft

"Yes, granted I'm not one to have that many things going on that I need to be fancy for." Shawn explained sure that Callisto was more likely to have an actual reason to dress fancy before he would. He's life was far more laid back and only very special occasions called for a suit of dress robe of some sort. "Besides we'll probably need your creativity on this one, if we're just relying on me for an excuse to be fancy it probably won't go well. It'd just be you in some beautiful dress walking a German shepherd with a top hat and bow tie around a park." Shawn said laughing at the imagine in his head. Sure he could and would think of something far better than that as a way to see Callisto again but once that thought popped into his head he couldn't help but say it at that point.
Shawn was only partly kidding when he had joked about chocolate, sure he had wondered plenty of times what would happen. Still he hadn't expected Callisto to go into detail and answer his question. Remaining quiet as she continued, it was fascinating just to listen to her talk about medical stuff like this. He just smiled once more as she asked if he was just kidding and she went into detail for nothing. "Yes and no, I only brought it up as a joke but you did answer a few questions I've had for a long time." The last thing he wanted was for her to feel embarrassed over what she had just said. "It's just interesting to see you go into professional healer mode in a second."
"Hey, I'll settle for just jokes. I'm not about to push my luck just yet anyway." Shawn paused thinking about the situation, pleased with how everything had actually been going. "I just got you talking and having fun instead of being annoyed with me, I don't feel like ruining that." Shawn said with a laugh as if he was joking be he really wasn't.

Shawn said he didn't have anything to be fancy for, saying that they needed her to decide since he would just be a dog in a top hat and bow tie. She rolled her eyes at that image but laughed at the same time. "I look forward to seeing that dog dressed that way," she said, raising an eyebrow in challenge. In all reality, though, she'd rather see the man in the suit, not the dog. She was sure he would look... nice. Yeah, nice. Pretty nice. He was handsome enough. He said that she had answered some questions about him and chocolate and spoke about how quickly she could go into professional healer mode. "It's a gift," she said, but her tone was flat. A lot of people didn't like that about her. It was... snobbish, really. She was a bit of a know it all when it came to medicine and the body. Especially where magical healing was involved. He said he wouldn't push his luck 'yet' and she narrowed her eyes. Then he said he didn't feel like ruining that he had gotten her to talk and have fun... She was having fun, wasn't she? There was that panic. She remembered what Brandon had said in a letter, that she should enjoy every moment of happiness she found. But... her smile softened and her brow stitched together. "I... it has been fun. I have to get going," she said, pushing back from the table. "Let's talk. Or something," and then she walked out really fast. Really. Fast. Was it possible to take someones smile with you? shawn lesley ashcroft(the end)
