@kinsey
That was the kicker, wasn't it? IF Diana didn't like him. Unfortunately she did. In fact he was a dear friend. She knew things about him that he didn't share with others, and vice versa. Diana's lips formed a tight line again, pursed together tightly. She had absolutely no answer. No excuse. Nothing that she could say to Kinsey about that. Nothing that would make it seem... okay. And if Kinsey found out that Diana knew because she had spent a good amount of time around both of them? How might Kinsey react? If she was so mad that Diana knew, how angry would Kinsey become to finding out Diana and Dominic were actually friends? But then Kinsey had to keep talking, asking if her being bullied was why Diana stopped talking to her.
Diana knew what she needed to say now. Knew what it would take to make sure Kinsey stayed far away. And that was the truth. Or at least, part of it. The part that Kinsey would believe.
Taking in, and letting out a slow, and deep breath, Diana had to work on the strength to speak. But not just speak. To force her dull eyes to turn an icy and cold blue. Hard, harsh. Her eyes didn't turn that color naturally. She had to live a double life, so she'd gotten pretty good at putting on a cold, and almost intimidating front.Not just the color of her eyes, but also a.... harshness behind them. Her expression was void of all emotion, so all the feeling would come from that cold stare. "Merlin, you don't even realize how exhausting it is, do you? We can't even think anything without you getting all wound up and crying wolf. It's always about what you feel. And your constant paranoia that the world is out to get you. I'm sick of constantly having to worry about censoring my own blasted thoughts just for you." Diana felt sick to her stomach saying it, but she refused to let her expression change or soften. Refused to take back the words. Because if anything would make Kinsey believe Diana wanted space, it would be that. Praying upon her sister's insecurity of her ability. And it made Diana feel absolutely disgusted with herself. But she'd rather say it and have Kinsey hate her but be safe then for Kinsey to keep prying and catch Elaine's interest.

Diana didn't say anything in regards to Dominic, which was just as confusing to Kinsey as her excuses were. Why was she just glaring at her instead of explaining or even defending herself? Or did she just not want to tell Kinsey the reason she let her be bullied? Kinsey just ... couldn't understand, which was sad because she and Diana had once been close. At least, she thought they were close. Maybe they never really were. Her sister's eyes turned a piercing blue and Kinsey shivered, even though the temperature around her hadn't changed. Though up to this point she really hadn't paid attention to her sister's intentions, they were shouting at her now. Not that Kinsey needed her gift to tell that whatever Diana was going to say wouldn't be good. She tried to brace herself for whatever it was, not even thinking that it might be impossible to brace herself for this. It was. Kinsey's mouth fell open slightly as her sister threw a torrent of words her way. Kinsey heard them all, saved them in her mind so she could make sure she wasn't just being overly emotional and missing something important, but apart from that she felt crushed. This was different than Cara nagging at her or Dominic doing all he could to tear her down. This was someone she trusted (at least, she did once) and loved and Kinsey was a burden. Despite everything. Trying to not make things hard on her siblings was one reason why she shut herself away as a child. She never wanted them to feel strange around her, but apparently she failed. She closed her mouth, looking at her sister sharply as she decided what- if anything- she wanted to say back. "I didn't realize. No need to be sick anymore Diana. I'll leave you alone." Her voice was firm and determined and Kinsey gave her sister one last nod, one last look in the eyes before she turned and started walking away. She needed ... Riley. He was the only person she wanted to talk to now. She certainly didn't want to look at, much less talk to, any of her family members right now. @diana (Kinsey out. It can be end or you can do one more)
