She seemed a little unimpressed by his secret, something he hadn't told anyone, though, it wasn't really a big deal, but it was a dorky little secret that he would never really admit to anyone else, he didn't need anyone making a big deal out of it. It wasn't like he even really knew the girl, they talked in classes during their first year, but nothing was ever going to come of their friendship.
Once, I stole a sip of fire whisky from a really expensive bottle in my dads desk drawer.
He wrote back, drawing on inspiration from a conversation he had with a young Slytherin girl at the Room of Requirement party last month.

Kinsey was really enjoying this little game. She loved learning more about Riley, even if it was just little things like who his first crush was and stealing a sip of his father's drink. They were all pieces to who he was and Kinsey wanted to learn as much about Riley Fudge as was humanely possible. She smirked at this confession, which brought up a lot more questions to her mind than the other had. Ooooh, stealing from your dad? Tell me, how are you not in Gryffindor after pulling something like that off? But really, what did you think of it? How old were you? Did your dad ever find out? From what Kinsey heard, fire whisky was intense, unpleasant stuff, but she was curious to see what Riley thought of it. Besides, this whole situation just sort of demanded she tease him, thus the comment about him being a Gryffindor. She was glad he wasn't, of course. Him being a Gryffindor would make this entire friendship harder, presuming that they still would have met. @riley

She teased him for his confession and he hadn't really been expecting anything else. It had been just last summer. He wasn't sure if she knew that it wasn't the last time he drank, he did so at the party and he really liked it. He didn't mind the taste and he didn't mind what it did to him either, though he didn't have enough of it to fully experience it's effects. He had a lot of fun.
I like fire whisky, it's pretty good. It was just last summer, no, he has no idea. I think he would likely just assume he drank it if he noticed some was missing, but it really wasn't a lot then anyway.
He wrote back, wondering why she hadn't come to the party, not that he had known her then, but he wondered if she had ever tried the stuff.

Kinsey couldn't deny that she was pretty surprised by the bluntness of his answer. Not that she thought he'd deny it after already telling her that he took some. She just, it surprised her. Maybe because she'd never tried that, or other really alcoholic beverages. She drank butterbeer, but that was about it. I'll have to take your word for it, I've never tried the stuff. I guess it's a good thing your dad wouldn't notice though. Is that the only time you've drank? She wasn't sure if she was getting too personal or something, but he brought it up and now she was curious. That wasn't Kinsey's fault. A part of her wanted to change the topic because she didn't have much to say about alcohol in general. @riley

Was that the only time he drank? No. But there hadn't been many times, to be honest. Riley looked up to the professor again to make sure they were in the clear before he wrote back to her.
No, someone spiked the punch at that Room of Requirement party that Lilly Potter hosted, so I had a few cups there. He explained, wondering if he should have asked her why she wasn't at the party, but also feeling like he already knew. If she couldn't handle the great hall, there was no way she'd be able to handle a party with a few dozen rowdy teenagers all thinking of immoral things.

He described that someone spiked the punch at Lily Potter's party and Kinsey frowned. She never was much into parties. They meant big crowds and lots of differing parties (because everyone wanted something different out of parties). In all honesty, she didn't really see herself going to a party anytime soon, but a part of her wished she could without her gift. It would be interesting to see people interact with one another, to see how Riley interacted with others. Really, she just saw him interacting with herself. He had to have other friends though and she wondered how he got along with them. Oh. Did you like the party? Sorry if that's redundant. I don't really know what else to say now.
She was assuming that he did like the party, since he already said he liked fire whiskey. It made sense that he would enjoy the party if he had some, but Kinsey didn't know how to respond to what he said. He wasn't asking her any questions so it felt like she had to ask more questions or let the conversation die. At least she wasn't bored anymore. Riley was definitely doing his part there. @riley

Riley couldn't blame her for wanting to avoid parties. He understood that it was overwhelming for her to be around so many people, he just didn't know why exactly, but he had theories, he was putting clues together. And while he would have loved for her to have gone, he knew even if she had gone he wouldn't have paid her any attention because they hadn't met yet even though they had known each other for 6 years. They hadn't been friends yet last month, they had only just met in April.
Yeah, it was fun. I mostly just talked to this 5th year Slytherin girl who's friends with my sister.
He explained. He pushed the paper back to her and the professor cleared his throat from the front of the room. Riley's head shot up. however, it did appear that the two hadn't been caught, the professor had simply just been clearing his throat before he continued the lecture. Riley cast Kinsey a side glance of relief, wondering if they should quit while they were ahead, there were only about 15 minutes of class left anyway.

While Riley was passing the parchment to her, their professor coughed and Kinsey's heart jumped. She looked up at him, blood racing, when she realized that he wasn't paying any attention to her and Riley. She noticed Riley looking forward and wondered if he was as worried as she was when the professor coughed. She saw the glance he shot at her and nodded back at him, though she was still looking forward. She figured that since class was almost over they should probably stop. She read his last note, smiling and nodding at him before she folded up the parchment and started doodling on the back of it absentmindedly. When class was finally over she looked over at Riley and smiled, ready to do whatever.
