Riley came down from the boys dorm on that Monday morning. He had his first class of the day with Kinsey and had decided to wait for her to come down and they could go and get breakfast with her, either in the kitchens or the great hall if she was feeling up to it. It had been a great couple of days since the two Ravenclaws started dating and it had been a great couple of days. Riley Fudge, dressed for class with his bag over his shoulder and his tie hanging untied around his neck, waiting outside of the girls dorms for his girlfriend to walk down. He knew she didn't always get up early for breakfast, but he knew she would have to come down for class eventually. He stood near the door to the girls dorms, hating that he couldn't just go up and knock on her door. A few minutes after he got there, he heard footsteps and craned his neck to try and see if it was Kinsey coming down.

Drizella let out a large, dramatic yawn, raising a hand to cover it as she lazily moved through her morning routine. It was always such a hassle to do her hair and make up. But it was a necessary exhaustion. It was easier not to go back to bed when she'd put in all that effort to look pretty. Several other Ravenclaw girls were still getting ready when Dizz grabbed her bag and started to head out. THe sooner she got to the Great Hall the sooner she could sit down and chill. It would give her more time to enjoy slowly eating her breakfast. Basically, the only reason she was a morning person was because she didn't like to feel rushed in anyway. Lazily she waved the hand that had covered the yawn in Kinsey's direction, not even looking at her friend, as she left.
Down the stairs she went passing the doors of other dormitories, each with their respective year on it, and finally reached the bottom. Pulling the door open, she took a step out... and stopped. Dizz stood there, door held open and just stared at the boy. He was standing right there, as if waiting for a girl from the dorms. Probably was, actually. Oh.. wait.. Who was he again..? He was in her year, wasn't he? But his name completely evaded her. No surprise. If she didn't want to remember your name, she wouldn't. But really. He did look familiar. Why? Her eyes narrowed a bit, to squint, trying to recall. Wait... One of her parents dinner parties? Maybe? Her gaze relaxed. Oh well. If she couldn't remember, he probably wasn't important. "What?' She asked instinctively, because demanding that sort of question was obviously the best way to greet someone. Hey, why have good manners when no one was requiring you to?

Riley should have known that it wasn't his girl who was walking through the dorm hall. Kinsey normally walked with extremely light steps, not that this girl walked heavily, but the difference in sound was enough that he should have realized. A blonde girl whom she knew as being one of Kinsey's roommates was the one to open the door and enter into the common room. He felt a little down about seeing her just because he was so eager for it to be Kinsey. He didn't know the blonde well, but he knew her name was Dizzy, or so Kinsey called her. And he knew that their parents ran in the same circles and they had been to several of the same events. He was sure he had been introduced to her at some point, but he mostly just chatted with his sister at those parties. "Sorry," he said as a formality, he wasn't standing in her way or anything, but being raised with manners had a lasting effect on the Ravenclaw. "You're Kinsey's roommate, right? Is she coming down?" he asked.

Drizella slowly, very slowly, blinked at the boy. His name still escaping her. It started with an S right? Or was she mixing him up with someone else? Who know, she didn't pay attention to that kind of stuff. She only remembered your name if she was interested in some way. Whatever. She almost walked away at his apology, unwilling to answer, when he asked her about... Kinsey?
Drizella had been in the process of taking a step past him when he'd asked. It made her stop and look at him again with an exhaustingly bored look. "Why do you want to know?" she asked stalely. What business did he have with her friend?

Why did he want to know? Had Kinsey not told her best friend that they were dating? That didn't make him feel great. However, it was possible that Kinsey had told her and Drizella had just forgot, that seemed a little more likely. Drizella always had a very bored look on her face and it left Riley feeling a little annoyed. He had never seen her excited about anything, ever, not that they had a lot of interaction anyway. He had barely ever seen her smile, and during none of the countless evens they had both attending had she ever said anything to him. At those events, normally those of the same age (especially the younger ones) socialized with each other, but she always looked down her nose, at least in his perspective.
"Um because I'm her boyfriend and am waiting for her to go to breakfast?" he said, not meaning to make it a question, but he was a little annoyed that she ever had to ask why he was waiting for Kinsey. "Is she coming down or not?" he ask again.

Drizella's bored expression hadn't changed. She was hardly even blinking too as she just blankly stared at him. After a moment of her unreadable staring her gaze flickered away... then back. Almost as if something more interesting had caught her attention for a second. The only thing was there wasn't really anything in the direction she'd looked...
The boy announced himself not by name but as Kinsey's boyfriend. Only he didn't sound sure of that at all. And when he demanded to know if Kinsey was coming down Dizz raised her hand to cover a large and exaggerated yawn. "Oh. You. I thought she was joking about a boyfriend." It wasn't meant to be an insult... but was there a good way to take that sort of comment? "Who are you again? I forgot your name." She obviously wasn't going to answer the question of Kinsey coming down until she was good and ready. And she needed to remember his name first.

She admitted that she thought Kinsey was joking about having a boyfriend and he raised his eyebrows and pursed his lips a little. Really? Wasn't this girl supposed to be a friend of Kinsey's? Wouldn't she then know better and be able to distinguish when her friend meant it and was just joking about it. He rolled his eyes. "Yep. I'm really. I exist. Shocking I know." he was getting frustrated by this point, why did she care so much and why couldn't she just say if Kinsey was on her way down or not? At this rate Kinsey would just come down before he actually got an answer out of her so-called friend.
She asked who he was, insisting that she forgot him name and that was just about the final straw for him. "Riley... Riley Fudge? We've been in school together for the past 6 years and we're in the same house, how clueless are you?" he asked with a scoff. Even the people he wasn't friends with he knew the names of. It was absolutely ridiculous to him to think that someone who he had been around in such close proximity with for the past 6 years didn't know who he was. "That and we're at all the same events with our parents." he added. Even if she didn't know him from school, they ran in all the same circles and had a lot of the same friends.

It wasn't that Drizella didn't think Kinsey could have a boyfriend if she wanted. But she seemed convinced that she and her friend were still at the same level of interest in dating; none. Drizella found most men and women to be particularly boring an uninteresting. Why would she want to date any of them? It seemed Kinsey had moved out of the nondating stage without her. Instead of saying anything about his being real she just shrugged, as if she could care less.
He was getting a little snippy though when he finally said his name and asked how clueless she was. That got a new reaction out of her. A slightly annoyed look appearing, though the boredom could still be seen. "I don't bother learning the names of people who bore me." Ouch. Well it was a bit true... she would have remembered his name if she found him interesting. So they did run in the same social circles outside of school... so she must have known this boy for most her life. "So? I don't know most the people at those parties." the only ones she did know was because her parents had bribed her to talk to them.

She said she didn't bother learning the names of the people who bored her and Riley simply raised his eyebrows as if asking if she was serious. He couldn't help but let out a breathy laugh. This girl was ridiculous. How she and Kinsey were even friends, Riley had not a clue. They were so entirely different. How did Drizella not bore Kinsey to tears, or annoy her to the point of wanting to make a new friend? Riley was too nice to call Kinsey out on who she chose to have in her company, but it really made no sense to him. And overall, it was starting to frustrate him. She was frustrating. "Do you know anyone's name, then?" he asked. Realizing that his comment was maybe a bit rude, Riley cleared his throat afterwards and looked at the floor. His parents had raised him better than that. And he knew if he was mean to her, she could tell her parents and it would get back to his parents in no time and he would never hear the end of it. "Sorry, look, is Kinsey coming down or not?" he asked again, just praying for a straight answer.

Drizella's expression remained stoicly serious as he processed what she said, raising his eyebrows and laughing a little. She was quite serious. Why should she bother learning the names of people she didn't care about? It wasn't like she'd actually want to spend any time with them. "Yes." was her painfully slow response, though she paused only momentarily. "Just not yours. " well, she'd already made that quite obvious. She was just hammering it in now unnecessarily.
The girl tilted her head as he repeated the question, wanting to know if Kinsey would be coming down. She was obviously mulling it over, deciding if she should tell him what she knew or not. "She was still up there." basically she had absolutely no idea when Kinsey would be down and she'd just wasted both their time because a straight answer was too much work.

"Don't I feel special then?" he rolled his eyes. He couldn't have counted how many times he had previously done so over the course of this conversation. No wonder he had never bothered to talk to her at any of the event that they had both been at. She had never really caught his eye as someone would be good at conversation or particularly lively and he had been right. He had a fairly regular group of people that he spoke to at those events, most of which went to Hogwarts with them. And, worse case scenario, he always had Lydia.
Finally, she admitted that Kinsey was still upstairs, something that he had figured, but not exactly what he had asked. He assumed, by the way that she said it, that she actually had no idea whether or not his girlfriend would be down anytime soon. What a large waste of time, not just for him, but for her also. Did she really have nothing better to do than annoy a random boy who had simply asked her a question first thing in the morning? She had made herself late for breakfast in doing so. "Great, thanks for nothing. Have a nice day then." Riley stepped aside, not that he was blocking her path anyway, and gestured for her to continue walking past him. He'd rather wait down here for Kinsey in silence.

Drizella just gave him that same intensely bored look... only it seemed even stronger now. As if he was boring her even more. Raising a hand she covered a large and long yawn, as if setting in stone just how uninterested she was.she didn't even bother answering his sarcastic words about feeling special. Didn't need too.
Though his slightly passive aggressive dismissal made her frown. Sure she'd only stopped because he'd been where she wanted to walk, and only stayed because he'd asked a question. But Dizz really didn't like being told what to do unless it benefitted her in some way. She was selfish like that. None the less, she'd rather leave before this conversation continued. "Whatever." she finally answered with a shrug. Why continue a pointless conversation that could hold her interest? He could wait for Kinsey alone and she'd go about her business as usual. What a grand idea. Brushing her hair off her shoulder she intentionally walked through the opening he'd created, just because he'd moved, and left the common room.
