Crayla was bored. She was often bored. But normally she was able to find someone to entertain her in the common room. Today, she walked through the common room and found it deserted. Where was everyone? It was a weekend so it was likely everyone had decided to spend the day in the village. Cray wasn’t fond of Hogsmead. It was too cute for her. Not to be misunderstood: Cray was very materialistic and loved shopping as much as the next daughter-of-a-rich-father. But, she never found anything interesting in the village. Except for drama. Cray always found the occasional fun person walking down the lane. Or at least someone she hadn’t yet exhausted the possibility of. Someone to have a little bit of fun with.
The Slytherin wasn’t in the mood for any Hogsmead fun on this particular day, however. And she had to admit, that was mostly because it was raining outside. It wasn’t storming, but there was a drizzle that filled the air around the castle. Cray didn’t hate the rain, but she didn’t like being caught in it and wasn’t in the mood to wear rain boots. Instead, she made her way out to the courtyard; stopping at the kitchens to get a coffee before she did so. She carried her coffee out into the covered area of the courtyard where she leaded against a stone pillar and watched the rain fall and the bushes sway in the wind. April Showers Bring May Flowers: her mother had always told her.

Weekends were great, or they would be if Daniel had something better to do than look out the common room tower at the light rain. It couldn't have even been a storm or anything, he would have enjoyed that. No it was just a small shower and that was less fun to him. Daniel had also given up on the books and papers lined in front of him for right now. He tried to never push things off till later because he always found a way to keep doing so till they never got done. Still sometimes these things couldn't be helped as he just couldn't be bothered to focus on it right now. Yet it wasn't like he had much else to do as he looked around the rest of the common room. The few people he would even consider talking to weren't here and even if he begrudgingly had gotten used to this school, it still wasn't enough to just try and join some random group of people.
No instead Daniel just put away his things and left with no real destination in mind. It's what he did more often than not. Wonder a castle he didn't want to be at hoping to find something for which he didn't even know what he was looking for. He had heard from other students this school had plenty of hidden passages but they didn't seem to know where they were. Daniel hadn't found any himself either so he was beginning to think it was a lie. He also wasn't looking that hard as he didn't know where to look either. This time his idle search brought him to the ground floor and he noticed a familiar face as he walked back. He planned to keep walking as the person he saw wasn't someone he would have called a friend but all in all the last experience with her wasn't terrible. Interesting was probably more the word for it and with a shrug he turned back, it would probably be a short encounter anyway and he'd go back to wandering the halls bored soon enough.
"What? Scared you might melt if you get wet?" Daniel said with a slight laugh as he walked up to the girl, he didn't even know her name but that wasn't important now, just like it didn't matter before. "I'm pretty sure only the witches in books do that."

Cray heard a voice behind her and turned to look, her favorite ballet student walked up to her. She had met the Gryffindor boy once when he walked in on her practicing Cinderella and let her have some fun with him in exchange. Not in a dirty way, though she would admit that he wasn’t awful looking. He was a Gryffindor though which she was sure her friends would have something to say about. He teased her, saying that witches only melted in the rain in books. She rolled her eyes. “But sugar melts in water, and we both know how sweet I am.” she responded. It was true that she could be fairly sweet, especially when she needed to. First impressions were very important and a lot of people would rather meet someone sweet than someone obviously looking to use them. She would have been sweeter to the Gryffindor boy had he not interrupted her while she expected to be left alone. “What’s your excuse?” she asked him in regards to him not stepping out into the rain either.

Daniel smirked slightly as the girl commented about why she wasn't in the rain. Sweet wouldn't have been the word he gave their last encounter but he didn't know what she was really like with other people. She immediately didn't seem to like him when they first met. Either because of the house he was in or that he had interrupted her while she was practicing ballet alone. He wasn't sure the reason but it didn't bother him whatever it was. "Yeah, I almost got a cavity from our last run in you were so sweet." The sarcastic tone was obvious but he was just messing around after all, he didn't dislike the girl or anything. Daniel just laughed as she asked him why he didn't go out in the rain. "Do you know how long it takes to get this masterpiece together?" Daniel explained while waving to himself as if to show himself off, he was no where near as vain as that but he could certainly play the part if need be. "I'm not about to let a little rain ruin it."

He went along with her little sarcastic joke, insisting that he almost got a cavity from their last run-in. "If one run-in with something sweet almost gave you a cavity you might want to spent a little more time brushing... oh and don't forget to floss." she smirked. She didn't really care about his dental hygiene and of course knew he was just joking along with what she had said previously, but it was fun to continue, especially if she was able to get a slight insult in. She still didn't know his name. She wasn't sure if she cared to. He had chosen his own nickname for her the last time they interacted and that was good enough for her. She wasn't sure if he knew her name or not. It wasn't a secret, she was around the school, as any member of Hexen was, even if they were being spoken of out of fear or infamy; at least they were being spoken of.
In his response to why he wasn't getting wet he insisted that it was because his look took so much time to put together and he wasn't going to let the rain ruin it. She glanced over at him, giving him a once over up-and-down and couldn't help but let out a single laugh, which she then covered by clearing her throat. "Yeah, I can only imagine the hours spent in the bathroom." she rolled her eyes. "getting your hair to... flip... like that." she gave a nod and then took a large gulp of her coffee.

The small insult wasn't lost on him but he wasn't about to take anything she said personally. This was just how it was and it was entertaining enough to not want to stop or worry about it just yet. "Possibly but saying that you're "just" something sweet is an understatement." Daniel replied with a smirk, she had been something alright but sweet wasn't it. "Still you're pretty impressive. Ballet instructor and now a dentist, I'm almost worried what the triple threat is going to be." He could almost see her already just taking the part with him saying she was impressive and running with that while ignoring the rest. Yet he wasn't about watch his words just to avoid things this girl could have a field day with.
Daniel thought he heard a laugh for a moment before she proceeded to cough slightly. If it had been that would have been a first so far from this girl. "That's a little rude, I have to keep you out of my dreams but you can imagine me in the bathroom getting ready." Daniel resisted the laugh that tried to follow as he brought up something she said last time with a small smirk. That obviously wasn't what she meant but he could use other people's words against them as well as the next person. "But yes, getting the flip part just right does take the longest but anything worth doing is worth doing right." In reality he spent very little time getting ready but he was sure that was obvious to most. Daniel just let his hair do whatever as long as it didn't look like a total mess before he left the bathroom.

"You're right, I'm so much more than just something sweet." she agreed. She knew it didn't mean it in the way that she was playing off like he did. He had seen a side to her that most new people didn't see. First impressions were very important to the Slytherin girl and she hadn't made a great first impression on him. Not that she honestly cared to. But, in the unlikely but possibly event that she found him useful she didn't want to have already turned him away by their bad encounter. She was manipulative with her attitude and personality towards people. She didn't want to waste a perfectly good conversation. "Guess you'll just have to randomly happen upon me again and find out." she shrugged.
"Fine, maybe I was a little harsh. I know how hard it can be to keep me out of your dreams so you have my permission now." she teased with a way over-the-top enthusiastic smile. She wasn't fond of the idea of the Gryffindor dreaming about her, though it wouldn't surprise her if some of the Gryffindors did. And, of course, she was just being sarcastic. She knew most people didn't actually have any control over what they dreamed and wasn't insinuating that he did. "I'm sure it does. But you seem to have mastered it." she gave him a little bit of a backhanded compliment. She didn't really like his hair, she thought it looked a little gross, actually. However, it did look almost the exact same every time she saw him so she had to give him a little bit of credit.

With a small smirk Daniel just nodded while she agreed with him as she took what he said as a compliment. He was prepared for this as that's just how their conversations seemed to go so far even if they had only had two run-ins so far. Which he didn't see anything wrong with that, it was fun enough using each other's words how they wanted. Besides he had been looking for a way to kill sometime and this was working, at least till it was over. "It's funny how I always happen to be right when it sounds like a compliment to the person." Daniel finally replied with a small laugh. "Oh I'll count the seconds and minutes till our next random encounter." The tone of sarcasm was light in his voice but he doubted that she could possibly think he was serious to begin with.
While the girl smiled which was something he wasn't very used to as she hadn't done that much or at all when they spoke she allowed him to dream of her. Like he had a choice what he dreamed of or had some control of it. "Oh how gracious of you, I was looking for a way to spice my nightmares and make them a little awkward at the same time. I think this should do the trick." She could keep thinking that allowing him to dream of her was a gift if she wanted. Still Daniel imagined this was just another bit of sarcasm between them. "Practice makes perfect I suppose," he shrugged slightly as he said it. He had been getting ready by himself pretty much since he could remember so that must count as enough practice. "Besides if I had known I'd be running into you again I'd have worn my fancy dress robes and fixed my hair more. Have to impress my favorite ballet instructor." No he wouldn't have done any of that but still he joked about it.

She couldn't blame him for sarcasm. She actually appreciated it. It wasn't often that she found someone, outside of Hexen or the Slytherin common room that she could have a good back-and-forth with. Conversation was a great way to spend time, however, sub-par conversation disappointed her and would often cause her to get out of an interaction as soon as possible. Most people were so boring. She wasn't sure how they didn't bore herself. She began to wonder if the American was wasted on Gryffindor house. She didn't really know him, however, he could have been one of those recklessly brave Gryffindors that forced their help onto people who neither needed it or wanted because they wanted to be the hero. "I'm sure you do, everyone should." she replied when he said he was counting the seconds and minutes until the met again.
Cray knew that he had no desire to dream about her, something which she was glad for. He said that he was looking for something to spice up his nightmares and she shot him a bit of a glare. She wasn't a nice girl, but at least she normally wasn't rude. And she didn't really take offense to his statement, but she also couldn't let him get off easy for it. "You're missing out then." she shrugged, no longer looking at him, but instead turning back to her coffee and the falling rain. He said practice made perfect and that was why he was so good at his hair. She laughed again, and even more so when he said that he would have wore his dress robes if he knew that he would be running into her in order to impress her. "Wouldn't that have been a site. People would think you were trying to woo me." she rolled her eyes, not at all sounding excited about the idea.

Daniel laughed a little as the girl mentioned that everyone should be looking forward to seeing here. While he wouldn't have used those words exactly this was turning into more fun than he had been having with his day so far. Now if that was a statement on the girl or just how boring this day had been he wasn't sure. Daniel also wasn't about to share that fact with this girl, he knew just how she would take it anyway. "If only you could grace us with a schedule for when everyone will get a chance to meet you. Save everyone from so much heartache."
The glare was perfect, if he was worried about hurting someone feelings he wouldn't have said what he did about nightmares but this wasn't the conversation he was going to put that much effort in. He wasn't going to be outright mean to the girl, even if she wasn't the nicest she didn't do anything wrong and didn't deserve it. He just wasn't going to pass up such an opportunity in the conversation. "Now you're trying to convince me I should?" Daniel was only kidding while she commented on what he was missing by not dreaming of her. The girl laughed again as he spoke of putting more effort in his appearance. "What? You think they would be on to me that quickly? I guess I'll have to change up my plans." Daniel replied sarcastically after she mentioned people thinking he was trying to woo her.

He asked for a schedule for when everyone would get a chance to meet her and she rolled her eyes. He was quick with his words, something she admired in people. Something that she very much appreciated in a verbal sparing partner. "But then you'd never get any time." she shrugged. And a lot of people would likely end up dead. Okay, that was an exaggeration. Purifier or not, Cray had a firm aversion to killing and she knew it was a weakness for hers. She knew she'd have to get over it. But, if she did, like he said, make a schedule for people to meet her, so many of those people would end up crying to the counselor or possibly in the hospital wing, depending on the interaction itself. "It's a double edged sword really." she decided. She knew it wasn't a real suggestion, but the thought alone was enough to make her cringe.
He asked if she was trying to convince him that he should be dreaming of her. She shrugged, playfully, very much not seriously, "I'm just saying you can if you want. I've been told I'm pretty good in dream form." she smirked. Unfortunately, that wasn't really a joke or lie. She had been told so once by a creepy guy who had a crush on her last year. It made her want to shudder. He had been such a gross little Ravenclaw. She had no idea what happened to him. She was pretty sure he was still a student. But it was possible some of her older male friends had taken care of him for her. "Students love to gossip, sweetie. Not even you're immune." she shrugged.

The girl reminded him that if she had such a schedule then he would never have any time with her. "Well that just won't do, whatever would I do without these little moments between us." He replied with a small smirk as he wouldn't necessarily miss this if it never happened again but for all the jokes and back handed compliments, he was still having fun after all. "Just forget I said anything about it, we'll go back to the old way of people just hoping to get lucky enough for a glance at you. Let alone meet you," Daniel added, luck wasn't so much how they ran into each other the first or this time. The first time he was avoiding a ghost and this time he was just bored with everything else.
"Alas my dear, why ever would I settle for a mere dream when the real thing is before me and better than any dream could hope to be." Daniel remarked avoiding the smirk and laugh that wanted to follow attempting a straight face. Somewhere in Daniel was a poet or at least someone good with romantic words. Yet that part only seems to surface when he wanted to make a joke it seemed and not when he needed it. The girl explained about gossip which he was used to, rumors followed after he first started at Hogwarts. How he was kicked out of Ilvermorny for everything under the sun, it was actually funny for awhile but those had passed for the most part. "Gossip I'm used too, I'm just was surprised they would figure out so soon I was trying to woo you." He was kidding and if the laugh that followed didn't convey that it would be an interesting reaction from her at the least.

A part of the Slytherin girl was already bored in this conversation. She wasn't sure how she enjoyed the Gryffindor boys company, it was surely better than being alone and not having anyone to talk to. However, it did mean that she was currently being seen in public talking to a Gryffindor, something that she didn't want any of the other members of Hexen to see. Not that they hated Gryffindors in particular, they just hated everyone and that was why Cray got along with those girls so well and why she had been accepted into their clique. The fate of the clique was hanging in the balance, however. As the year drew to an end, their older members were all graduating and leaving the three 5th year girls to run the whole thing. Who the next Head would be was still to be decided. Cray couldn't like and say that she didn't want it. At least, she wouldn't lie to herself. Power was something that the Slytherin girl craved and this was an easy way to get some more. It was why she joined the Purifier movement. She wanted to prove herself, despite her blood status. "That's probably a good idea." Cray nodded when he said they should continue with the old way.
"Because you don't have the real thing, and I wouldn't get your hopes up that you will." She shrugged. Despite his attempt at keeping a straight face, Crayla knew he was joking. If he wasn't then it was a sure way to get herself out of the situation. "Well, American, you wouldn't be the only one so I be prepared for the competition if you do." she rolled her eyes, sincerely hoping that he was being the sarcastic boy that she had first met and wasn't actually falling for her.

Daniel nodded as the girl agreed with him still unsure how much of a good thing that was. He did enjoy the sarcastic back and forth but at the same time that's really all it was. You could only fill a conversation with so much sarcasm, he would know he's tested those limits this year. Still he did have fun so if they did run into each other again it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world he supposed. "That and you'll never have time for ballet if you have to meet so many people all the time." Daniel said with a slight laugh as that was how this all started after to begin with.
"Oh darn," Daniel replied as she told him not to get his hopes up. Luckily his hopes for that were as low as they could be. He had no interest in the girl than she was good to kill some time and sure he'd admit she didn't look half bad. "What like a jousting tournament for the princesses favor?" For some reason that was always what he thought of when he thought of competing for a girl. Something he read in some medieval book he supposed. When he was younger before he started Hogwarts those were some of the books he loved to read the most. "I've never been on a horse before, I fear I'll just have to concede now."

"And then you'd be out a professor." She nodded. It really was just a bad plan as far as imaginary and sarcastic plans went. There was so much that hadn't been thought through. "Too bad, you had such potential." she teased him. He wasn't entirely awful, however, she knew he had no interest in it, and she didn't really care to do it with him again. It had been a fun encounter, but overall she didn't want to waste what precious time she had alone doing ballet to be wasted on a Gryffindor with no potential and who was just there to make fun of it.
"Yeah that's probably in your best interest, sweetie." Cray agreed. The Slytherin didn't actually have any current suitors, however, she had several friends if she decided that she needed someone to take care of things for her. She wasn't really worried about this Gryffindor giving her any trouble. As annoying as he was, he seemed pretty harmless and she seriously doubted that he actually had any feelings or desire towards her. She couldn't imagine that she was his type. he probably fancied those Gryffindor girls who were too brave for their own good. The type who always stepping into a fight even if they didn't know anyone else involved and tried to defend whoever was being attacked. She hated those people. She rarely got involved in drama that didn't involve her.
