What was the point? Of Anything. The 5th year girl had been doing quite a lot of thinking recently. The year was coming to an end. She'd then have to get back on the train and go back to her fathers house in Essex where she and her little sister would be forced to look at the pictures of their dead mother as they walked down the hallway back to their bedrooms. The only safe place in the whole house. The only place she could avoid both of them, but particularly her father. Tinsley was fairly innocent, at least in Cray's eyes. She was young and hadn't done anything to ruin anyone's life. Cray had, she knew. But the Slytherin didn't really feel bad about it. People were mostly disposable. They served their purpose for her and then she really didn't care about what happened to them from there. Nor did she spare their feelings if she had issues with them.
It was late. Cray was lying on the floor of the astronomy tower just watching the sky. Nothing was happening. What was the point again? She had no idea. She didn't even take Astronomy anymore. She hadn't much cared for the subject anyway. But the sky was calming. Cray found weather calming and while the sky didn't exactly count as weather, it was still something.

Rough days come and go, it was true of everyone even someone who tried to look ever perfect like Gilderoy. You could do everything right, be prepared for as much as possible and still fail at something. Failing at something once was fine but Gilderoy wouldn't nor couldn't allow there to be a second time. Today was such a day, both classes he just was off. He wasn't sure if he just wasn't prepared or bad luck today, whatever it was it felt like both classes were against him. The potion Gilderoy brewed just didn't come out right and he just barely got his DADA quiz done before class was over. Both things to anyone else would seem minor but it was the minor things like that, that separated average from who Gilderoy was.
Still possibly he was just overthinking it as he lie in his bed looking up the roof, his cat of course trying to sleep on his stomach. "What do you think Maxis?" Gilderoy asked out loud not expecting an answer besides the purring as normal as the cat relaxed. "Yeah I should just relax I suppose, I still am amazing after all." He replied as if the cat had suggested it. Gilderoy picked up his cat and placed it back on the bed allowing Gilderoy to get up. He wasn't tired and he did feel like getting this day off his mind and only a few things did that. Tonight though he had decided on where to go before even leaving the common room as Gilderoy proceeded toward the astronomy tower. He wasn't too worried about being caught out after curfew if it got that late, the tower was only a few floors from his common room.
It was a short trek and he was only a little disappointed he hadn't run into anyone. Everyone could use some Gilderoy in their life and it would have helped get his mind off his subpar performance in class. Finding some peace and alone time under the stars always did relax him a bit but as he reached the top of the tower it would seem he wouldn't be alone. Which wasn't the worst thing in the world of course. "Make a wish yet?" Gilderoy asked while standing by the door to the top of the Astronomy tower, there was already a girl there laying down. Probably with the same idea as him. "I'm not a genie but I've been know to make wishes come true." He added with a smirk as he leaned against the door frame.

A voice echoed from the staircase leading up to the tower. Crayla was fairly sure that she recognized the voice, however, she propped herself up on her elbows anyway to get a better look. And she wasn't disappointed by the view. Gilderoy Lockhart stood in the doorway, leaning against the door frame. He asked if she had made any wishes yet and then continued to say that while he wasn't a genie, he was known to make wishes come true. Cray smirked at his statement, he was an interesting man. "That depends, you don't happen to come with chocolate, do you?" she gave him a wink. "If not I guess you'll do on your own." she concluded. A man without chocolate was better than no man at all. Or woman for that matter, Cray wasn't picky. And a lot of the time, she fancied just having a warm body nearby more than she cared about the person who the body belonged to. "Come on now, I don't bite." she insisted, patting the ground next to her and returning to her horizontal position.

After Gilderoy spoke the girl picked herself up off the ground a bit, resting on her elbows. At this point he had an actual view of who she was aside from before when he just knew it was a girl. Gilderoy had a few encounters with Crayla enough to know her name and a little about her. He was also aware of her being a member of Hexen. A group of girls who had a certain love to be mean to other people. When he first heard of the group it was a goal to stay on their good side but overtime he was fine with whatever they might have said about him. A person as amazing as him was bound to have some enemies or just people jealous of such skill and good looks. Gilderoy hadn't met all the members of Hexen but if the rest looked anything like Crayla he would love to meet them sometime.
"Sorry, no chocolate today. I'm the only offering I bring." Gilderoy continued to smirk as she asked about him having chocolate and if not he would do. A comment he wasn't about to let go without saying something. "I don't know if I should feel hurt or jealous of chocolate if I'm just something that'll do in place of it." Gilderoy added, not feeling hurt nor jealous but just having some fun. Crayla motioned for him to sit next to her which he wasn't about to say no to while she commenting about not biting before she returned to laying down. He walked over and sat down while looking over to her, not laying down just yet. "Now my dear we shouldn't rule it out just yet, anything is possible on such a beautiful night with equally beautiful company."

He admitted that he hadn't brought any chocolate and she rolled her eyes playfully. She wasn't that upset, thought if she were being honest, chocolate was a surefire way into any person's heart. However, she didn't mind the company regardless of his lack of sweets. Cray wasn't exactly an innocent girl. She was someone who loved company in any form of the word. She was also someone that was considered 'adventurous'. Again, in many forms of the word. Cray wasn't a girl who cared a lot about scabs or scars if she had fun in the making of them. But she wasn't someone who cared about emotional scars. She used people. People were tools. And one of the ways in which she used them was in a very physical manor.
"Chocolate IS the best substance in the known universe." Crayla shrugged. "So you should probably be jealous that you'll just never live up." she teased. He walked over and sat next to her, not lying down, which she really didn't blame him for, she knew he was playing a game, a game that she very much enjoyed. "Oh I meant I wouldn't bite, viciously. However, even then I probably could if you gave me a reason too." she looked up at the man sitting next to her, he was handsome, and he had the status that she craved in a man. He had potential and was someone that Cray knew she'd like to keep around. Old, family names like his were the ones she was interested in acquiring for herself someday. Names that came with power.

Gilderoy just smirked as Crayla went on about chocolate, she had some what of a point as chocolate was pretty good. Still the best thing around was standing here before her instead but he would allow her, her opinion. "Well if that's how you feel about chocolate I would have to say I am very jealous now." He replied continuing to have some fun with the subject, "As far as never living up to it. That's a challenge I'm willing to take." He'd be better than chocolate or anything else to everyone one day, he just wasn't there yet but he wasn't too upset about that fact. All in due time.
After commenting about biting she added to it. He had expected it of course but all the same the comment was always welcome. "Well luckily for this situation you're dealing with a gentlemen, no reason for vicious biting but let's leave the rest on the table for right now." Gilderoy replied while checking out Crayla once more, it wasn't the only reason he just sat down instead of laying beside her but the better view was definitely a perk. "What brings you out here tonight? Besides brightening up my night?"

"I never realized your ego was so fragile, sweetie." Cray responded when he said that he was definitely jealous now. She wasn't silly enough to believe that Gilderoy was actually jealous of something as trivial and chocolate, especially with him being who he was. Cray couldn't imagine that there was a lot that actually got to him. Likewise, there was very little that actually got to Crayla Howlan. There were countless things that annoyed her, mostly people and the stupid ways in which they acted, but rarely did something stay with her. She was too self-important to let trivial drama worry her. Especially since she was the cause of some of it rather than the victim. "Okay. I'd love to see you try." she smirked. The Lockhart man responded that he was a gentleman and vicious biting wouldn't be necessary. She raised her eyebrows a bit and gave a laugh when he said they'd table the rest for now. He wasn't someone who she would be opposed to having some fun with, but, it was fun to tease and play first. "I just didn't want to go down to the dungeons." Cray insisted when he asked why she was up here. The Slytherin common room was the best place in the castle, however, it got boring after a while. "What about you?"

"It's not just about my ego," Gilderoy said as his smirk was still firmly in place. "The problem is if a beauty such as yourself is going to view chocolate like that we're all just jealous of how lucky chocolate really is." While he was just playing with words if that was how she viewed chocolate he did aspire to viewed as such by the rest of the world one day. Still he wasn't going to be hurt by someone's love of chocolate. Crayla commented that she'd love to see him try to be better than chocolate, "Just give me sometime." Gilderoy responded with a wink as he was always sure of himself even now.
"You'll have to go down there eventually unless you planned to sleep out here tonight." Gilderoy knew what she was probably getting at, just to get out of the common room like he had. Still that didn't mean he couldn't have some fun even if he knew was she was talking about. "If that's the case I'm more than willing to keep you company, it can get pretty cold and lonely up here some nights." Crayla proceeded to ask what he was doing up here, "The universe told me someone up here needed some attention. That or I just felt like getting out of the common room and finding a place to relax."

"Take as much time as you think you need." she smirked when he told her to just give him so time and eventually he'd be better than chocolate. She knew, well, at least she assumed, that he wasn't being serious about his quest to become even better than chocolate. But it was a fun little back and forth and she'd love to see him try, even just in jest. "let me know if there's anything I can do to help." she wasn't sure what that could be, but it would be funny either way.
he told her that she'd have to go back down eventually unless she decided to stay up here all night. In which case, he'd stay with her and keep her warm, he insisted. "Well if you're offering, who am I to turn down such a lovely gesture." she said, half in jest and half actually tempted. He tried to pass off that the universe told him that someone needed him, something that she might not have argued with. She could always use a little more Gilderoy time in her life. But, the more likely answer was the ladder: that he wanted to get out and relax a little. "See? Common rooms aren't always the most relaxing, are they?" that was why she had gotten out of the Slytherin common room and hadn't yet gone back. She knew there were people down there that would speak to her as soon as she entered the dungeons. Not that she minded, so long as it was someone good like Theodosia or Zaire. But for every one person she wanted to run into, there were likely dozens that she had no interest in seeing ever again. "Well you came to the right place, honey."

Gilderoy laughed quietly to himself for a second as Crayla told him to take as much time as he needed. He wasn't in any rush to try and surpass chocolate in this girls mind, no if anything he was more than willing to take all the time he could with her as Gilderoy's mind wandered a little on that subject. "It'd would be easier to list how you couldn't help me instead." Gilderoy responded with a smirk as she asked how she could help him.
He checked her out once more up and down as she asked who she would be to turn down his offer of keeping her company. "Well you'd be someone with terrible taste for starters. Which we both know definitely isn't who you are." He said with a smirk as his eyes went back to hers. "That's just because we don't share the same common room but I suppose that's for the best at times isn't it?" He winked followed by a small laugh as she spoke of a relaxing common room. It probably was for the best, he thought for a second. He'd probably end up late for classes and that was just the tip of that iceberg. Gilderoy nodded his head slightly at Crayla's next comment, "that's what I thought as well the moment I was you were the one laying here." With that he finally gave up his sitting position and laid down beside Crayla and looked up toward the sky, for probably one of the first times since coming up here. "Yes, just a beautiful night in general"

"Okay. Do it on your own then. Impress me." she teased back, concluding the topic but having enjoyed it very much. Cray had no issues letting men try to impress her, even, and especially if, they made a fool out of them selves in trying. She loved a good show. She never saw Gilderoy Lockhart Jr. as being one of those people who would go above and beyond for attention, attention just seemed to come to him, and that was exactly the type of person that Cray was drawn to, as someone who attracted such attention herself. Attractive people just needed each other, that was the way to keep the universe in line. He still didn't have the blood status that Cray needed to give herself a boost up in the world, like her, he was a halfblood, which in her head, was maybe his only flaw. The perfect man would have the charm, the name, the money and the breeding. Perhaps no such man existed. As far as she was concerned, Zaire was the closest, and he was already betrothed.
"Terrible taste? Me? Never." she agreed, maybe a bit dramatically for some added flair and followed her line with a wink up to the blonde man. When she said that common rooms weren't very relaxing, he pulled the comment back around and insisted that was because they didn't share the same common room. Smooth. Cray had to admit. She loved being charmed. "It's your own fault then, isn't it? You could have come to Slytherin, where all the great wizards go." She teased. She had nothing against Ravenclaw house, she respected most of them, actually. Some of the other few people she actually cared for were Ravenclaws, but, she had to express her house-pride someway. He clarified that it was likely for the best and she shrugged, "we could always find somewhere else. We're here now, aren't we?" she said. They were here, alone, just as they could be in any common room, if they ever managed to find an empty common room, which was difficult given the number of students. He agreed that he had come to the right place with another smooth line and finally laid back next to her. Cray glanced over at the man and then back to the sky. It was a clear spring night despite the fact that it had rained that morning. "Very beautiful." she agreed, before turning her head back to him, her hair cascading beneath her head.

"All in due time my dear. Why rush when I have such beautiful company tonight." Gilderoy replied while she told him he could impress her on his own. It wasn't just her that would be impressed someday but the whole world by the man he was. Still he wasn't going to rush it and risk looking like a fool. Besides right now rushing wasn't what he wanted to do about anything anyway. If anything it would be disservice to the world to rush and risk everyone not getting the chance to see just who he was by rushing.
Sure as she answered him Crayla was a little dramatic but he enjoyed it. What conversation wasn't made better by people having some fun with words and expressions and he was always one to appreciate some good use of drama. He just nodded in agreement as she would be the last person he would say had bad taste. Crayla said he could have joined Slytherin but the hat didn't even give him that option, it was quickly off to Ravenclaw. "We both know the hat doesn't work like that, besides I have tradition to think of with Ravenclaw. Still you make Slytherin sound very tempting." And it wasn't just tempting because she said all the great wizards go to Slytherin more because Crayla herself. Still he was happy with Ravenclaw and wouldn't have changed it even if he could. As Crayla commented about how they could always find a place or the fact that they were here now Gilderoy smirked a little. "We could always do both, first here and now followed by somewhere else and later." An idea Gilderoy was pretty happy with when he thought of it, even if this was all some game. The idea was nice enough to think about for a moment.
Gilderoy relaxed as he lay down beside her putting on arm behind his head for a bit more comfort while Crayla commented the same as him calling the sky very beautiful. Gilderoy looked over to Crayla with a smirk once more, "I think you just stole my line right about now."

Cray nodded. Why rush? It was a fair enough point, but the concept didn't always sit with her. Some people thought she was too young to decide on her political stance, or sexuality. Some people could look at the Slytherin girl and see her as rushing through life. She didn't feel that way though. She felt like life was dragging on honestly. Of course, there were moment, like this one, that she loved to slow down and savor. He went on to say that the sorting hat didn't work like that. She knew, of course. "You'd at least get to spend a lot more time with me." she shrugged. "But at least you're not Gryffindor. Then I couldn't be seen with you." she teased. With the exception of that one American boy whom she hadn't made up her mind about yet, Crayla despised Gryffindors. They were too big for their britches. She knew the same things could be said about herself and Gilderoy too, but they were different. It wasn't the same thing.
We could always do both first here and now followed by somewhere else and later, he suggested. "And what exactly do you think we're going to do?" she asked while biting her lips. "You know, I've head the room of requirement can be rather cozy." she suggested, going along with whatever he was insinuating. She was up for most things, very little turned her off. She had stolen his line, he told her. "Well, you've got to be quicker then." she said, still looking over at the man, rather than up at the sky. "Find lines I haven't heard a million times before." she added.

Gilderoy nodded as Crayla explained how he could spend more time with her if he was a Slytherin. "Which is what makes the idea of being in Slytherin all the more tempting. Probably wouldn't help my grades or class attendance but sacrifices must be made for such beautiful I suppose." It was all hypothetical as he would like to think he would still be on top of his grades and class work even with Crayla around far more often. Still he could never be sure and she was such fun to be around like this. "I'm sure I could get you to see past the lion and goofy shade of red." Gilderoy laughed as he said at, he didn't have a problem with anyone in the Gryffindor house, it was a house like any other to him. Still the rivalry between Slytherin and Gryffindor was stronger than ever.
As she asked what he thought they were actually going to do Gilderoy couldn't help but smile as he noticed her biting her lip. He couldn't help but enjoy that reaction from Crayla, "Oh I'd like to leave that up to imagination and anticipation. Makes it that much more exciting I believe." He wasn't lying either or just saying it for the sake of playing some game of words with Crayla. "As far as the room of requirements is concerned I'd believe it'd be as cozy as the both of us wanted." He added with a wink as the room did turn into whatever the person who summoned it wanted it to be as long as it was possible he supposed. Crayla told him he'd have to be quicker with his words and to find words she hadn't heard a million times before. In the seconds he gave himself he doubted there wasn't much she hadn't heard before. She was a beautiful woman who knew how to use it, still he wasn't about to give up this game. No, instead he gladly would keep it going as he turned on his side to face her better and ended up being a little closer as well. "Words always have a place but sometimes actions are called for too." Gilderoy said in a low tone as he leaned in to kiss her.

"Grades? What are those?" she asked with a real laugh. She couldn't remember the last time she studied. Or, even the last time she had done an assignment. The last time she remembered touching a book was at the beginning of the month when Zaire had found her in the common room and provided the best distraction from studying. Her father had sent her a howler that morning and she was actually beginning to think about doing her homework, luckily, she had friends who cared too much about her to let her suffer through her education when everyone knew she had the beauty and didn't need the brains to go along with it. She shrugged when he said he could get her to see past the red. "As long as you didn't have that annoying need to save everyone all the time." she said.
He didn't give her a straight answer about what exactly he had meant they would be doing, but a mind as active as Crayla's could assume any multitude of things, and none of them included studying. And none of them did she find herself opposed to. Cray was always up for fun. And, as a very physical person, her lines were hard to cross. "Maybe we'll have to check it out sometime." she gave a giggle. She couldn't remember the last time she had smiled so very much. He turned onto his side and she wanted as he did so. She kept expecting him to just get situated and then stop moving but he didn't stop. He closed in on her and Cray knew exactly what he was trying to do. There was a brief moment where she had contemplated pushing him away, but why? She had no reason to do so. She was interested, at least in a fling and a fun time. As funny as it could be to bruise his ego, now was not the time. So, the Slytherin girl let the Ravenclaw boy kiss her. And she kissed him back. Actually impressed by his tactics.
