She seemed happy when he came back and Brandon was glad. He just ... he didn't want to embarrass himself in front of her, since they'd been such good friends his whole life, but he also really wanted to let her know how he felt about her. He asked his question and waited nervously for her answer, but she seemed excited at the idea of him singing for her. He grinned, feeling a little bit of his confidence come back at the knowledge that she wanted to listen. "Alright, prepare yourself," he said before he summoned his guitar. It wasn't far away so it arrived shortly. He started playing for her, the song she'd inspired. At the moment, there weren't any words to go along with it, but he felt like the music spoke for itself and it was easy for his feelings to show through the song. He hoped she understood. Once he finished, he glanced up at her semi-nervously. "W-what did you think?" Brandon asked softly, watching her expression closely. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie sat on the edge of her seat while he began to play her the song he had written. The smile on her face grew bigger as she listened. And she looked at him while he played, though he seemed to be nervously focusing on what he was doing. She found it kind of cute that he was so nervous. On their last date, he had been the nervous one. He had been the one that was assuring her that she was alright on their first date, which was also just her first date in general. But now, he seemed to be more nervous than she was. He was her first date, her first kiss and now he was singing her a song that she inspired, even though she didn’t know that he had written it for her yet. “I like it! It’s really sweet.” she insisted, nodding eagerly. “You’re so much better than I remember… not that you were bad before or anything, I can just tell that you’ve been practicing and you’re really good, Brandon.” she said, hoping he would understand what she meant.

If she noticed his nerves, Rosie didn't react at all to them. She seemed too interested in the song and Brandon was a little relieved at that. He wasn't used to being so nervous in front of anyone, especially when it came to his music, but this song was for her and he wanted to make sure it was perfect, even just being instrumental as it was. When he looked up to her, she was nodding and telling him that it was very sweet and that he was a very good musician. Brandon's small smile widened as she spoke. She liked the song. "I'm glad you like it," he started, trying to sound casual. "I wrote it for you." Brandon looked away, taking a drink of his butterbeer to try and calm his nerves, which were rising once again. He waited to hear her reaction before continuing. If she didn't like the fact that he wrote a song for her, then she probably wouldn't want him to ask if she'd like to officially date him. He wrote it for her! He told her that he wrote it for her! Her heart swelled in her chest and she began to wonder if she should be concerned that it might burst! He liked her, that much she knew from their interactions, but he had actually sat down and wrote her a song. That had to mean something right? Rosie knew that she could easily be just reading into things, but how could she read anything else into this than what was clearly being stated? And it was a sweet song, it wasn't an angry song or a wild song, and that had to be good? She smiled and was completely sure her cheeks were red now. He probably could tell too. "Brandon, that's so sweet. I mean, no one's every written me a song before!" she blushed, her eye lashes fluttering a few times out of her overall giddy-ness. "But i bet you write songs for a bunch of people, right? Because you're a talented song writer..." she began to backtrack a little, just in case she was actually reading too much into the situation and he hadn't meant it like her brain was taking it.

She liked it! He knew that before, but now it was even more obvious and Brandon couldn't' help but grin at the knowledge. "Thanks,"he said, in reference to her calling him sweet. Then she seemed to realize that it might not have been a special thing, him writing a song for her. Brandon shook his head at her, "No, no. Rosie, I don't write songs for everyone. It's often weird to get the muse for it when you're writing for a specific person. I started this one the night of our first date and it just kind of flowed. It's dedicated to you ..." he paused, hoping that this was the right moment because he was going for it. "I was hoping," he scratched his neck nervously, "That if I played this song for you, you'd be able to tell how I feel about you and ... awe what the heck!" He was done with all the nerves. "Rosie, will you be my girlfriend? Please?" He waited anxiously. rose harriet granger-weasley

He didn’t write songs for everyone, he said it was normally weird to write songs for people and yet he had wrote a song for her. He started working on it the night after their first date, the night after the first time that they kissed. While she had been down in her dorm room in the Hufflepuff Commons, he had been on his ship. While she had been giggling with her friends and telling them all about their date, he had been writing a song and thinking about her. He liked her. He really liked her. And then he surprised her a little by actually asking her to be his girlfriend!
Oh my gosh!
Rosie couldn’t believe what he was asking, but an overwhelming feeling to agreed swept up her. “I’d love to be your girlfriend.” she admitted, eagerly. He had even asked so politely and seemed to anxious. He had put a lot of thought into this and it was obvious. There she sat, a 17 year old girl with her first boyfriend. She stood up and gave him a kiss over his guitar.

She said she'd love to be his girlfriend and the nerves left his smile as Brandon grinned at her. She said yes! He was so excited and relieved, and really there weren't words to describe it all. Then she kissed him. Brandon reached to take hold of one of her arms, pulling her closer while his other hand moved his guitar and lowered it to the ground. He gave her a kiss and then pulled away, smiling at her, "So that's what I've been missing out on all these years?" he teased. He hadn't seen Rosie like that before, they were simply best friends growing up. Now, however, it just seemed right. "How about you sit by me until we're ready to leave," he suggested, scooting over a little so there would be room for her on his side of the booth. He looked at her curiously when a thought occurred to him. "Even though I'm leaving in a few weeks, I still want to see where this goes over the summer, if you're interested." After her previous acceptance, he couldn't imagine her not being interested, but he wanted to get it out in the open between them so there wouldn't be any questions about it. rose harriet granger-weasley

She giggled. She couldn't help it. He teased her, saying that was what he had been missing over all these years. She wondered what would have happened if he hadn't transferred? Would they have gotten together sooner? Would they have never gotten together? What would their relationship have become? Maybe they could have had more time together. Maybe they could have gone to the Yule Ball together and he could have submitted his name as Hogwarts Champion instead of submitting under Durmstrang. She still didn't know the full story about why he transferred, she knew he went to live with his dad but didn't know exactly why, and she wasn't going to ask, not right now anyway, this was a good day and she wanted it to stay exactly like it was. "Of course." she said when he asked her to sit by him. She was so giddy and almost wondered if she was shaking at all. He then went on to a more logistical topic, asking if they could continue their relationship over the summer, to which she nodded, of course! "Yeah, I uh, I didn't really expect it to just end when you left." she admitted with a smile, though maybe she should have expected that. Maybe it was more causal than she expected. Instead of over thinking anything, she reached across the table for her butterbeer and took a drink.

She was sitting beside him, was his girlfriend and in that moment everything felt right. Being with Rosie was right. She made him happy, gave him something to look forward to and was just an amazing person. He cared for her since their first year when they became friends, but it wasn't until this year that his feelings for her got stronger. He was glad they did. He chuckled, relieved when she agreed that their relationship should continue over the summer. "Oh good. I just ... I didn't want to assume anything, but I was hoping," he offered by way of explanation. She took a drink, reminding him of his own butterbeer and Brandon followed his example, then turning to face her. "Alright then, so what do you want to do now. I'm all yours," he said with a smile. He was ready to spend the day with his girlfriend. rose harriet granger-weasley (you want to end it? Or we can add more of what they do that day. I'm good either way)

Things we so perfect. Maybe too perfect? Was there such a thing as too much perfection? Rosie had lived a pretty easy life. She had never had to want for anything, her family was kind to her and they were well off so they always supplied for her every need and want. They were letting her move home and they had kept her comfortable. All she had to work for was her status, which wasn’t very high since she was perfectly content keeping a low profile. She liked her standing on the newspaper, Grey had prompted her to head of spots this year and she felt very accomplished regarding that since she really had done it on her own via her own skill and talent in writing. He asked what she wanted to do for the rest of the day and she shrugged. “Maybe we can just hang out here for a while and then take a walk or something?” she suggested. She wasn’t in any hurry to leave the pub, she liked sitting so close to him, enjoying a drink and just being happy. The smile on her face had to be wider than she had ever smiled before. Maybe her cheeks would be sore by this evening.
{The End} @brandon
