Sav continued running straight off the dock, plunging himself into the cold, water that made up the black lake. They had passed several groups of girls on their adventure who were no doubt watching them still, and he didn't blame them. The two of them looked completely crazy. Not many would brave the water in the lake, even when it was warmer than normal out. Scotland wasn't known for ever getting particularly warm. He heard his friend crash down into the lake also while he was under water and Sav swam up to the surface where he took a large breath in and shook his hair out of his face, sure it was now just sticking everywhere in no rhyme or reason. Hugo surfaced soon after and exclaimed his joy over having completed their task. Maybe now he'd want to talk and explain to Sav what had made his friend so antsy. "Yeah! You wannah stay in the lake now or should we try to dry off?" he asked with a chuckle.

Hugo was pretty sure that Sav didn't really enjoy the jump in the Lake. Honestly, it seemed like his friend just wanted to get out, but Hugo was enjoying it. The water was cold, sure, but to him it was a kind of refreshing cold and he was glad that he jumped in. Even if Sav wasn't glad. When his friend asked if he wanted to stay in the Lake or dry off, Hugo grimaced. He wanted to stay in, but there were people watching- girls- and he knew his friend could be self-conscious sometimes. "Let's get out. I heard about a new spell that should dry us off. I've been waiting to try it out ... want me to give it a go?" He asked as he swam over to the dock and climbed up onto it with a bit of energy. Sure, it would've been easier to walk out, but then he would have gotten all muddy and Hugo wasn't really interested in that. Savtaj Daniel MacMillan

Hugo offered for them to get out and Sav shrugged. He didn’t really mind. He was starting to not care about the idea of people seeing them in the lake. What was the harm, really? He was an adventurous guy. He supposed it wasn’t too out of character for him to be running around and jumping into lakes. He would do so it impress a girl so why was it any different while doing so with a friend. “Yeah sure, so long as you don’t misremember the spell.” he insisted. If it was a new spells then it was possible that Hugo wasn’t so great at casting it yet. He swam back to shore and crawled out, his clothes hanging heavily on his body.

Sav didn't really care about staying in the water or getting out, which surprised Hugo a little. Since his friend had been so skeptical at the idea of jumping in the water at first, he thought he wouldn't want to stay in once they got there ... especially when Hugo realized how cold the water was. He liked it, but he wasn't sure if Sav was. However, the guy seemed to be alright with the idea now that he was in the water. Hugo rolled his eyes when Sav mentioned how he'd better remember the spell if he was going to use it. "I remember it fine, thank you very much," Hugo responded. "But I'll do it on myself first, just to prove to you that I do."
Once his friend was out of the water, Hugo pointed his wand at himself and said the charm, smiling when he felt the warm air drying off his clothes. It actually felt very nice, he thought. "Now do you trust me?" he asked, arching his eyebrows at Sav, though the corners of his mouth formed a smile, giving him away. Oops. Savtaj Daniel MacMillan

Hugo Weasley proves his knowledge by performing the charm on himself first. It seemed to work well, but that didn’t necessarily mean that Sav believed him. Hugo could easily stage that he was performing the charm, and instead hit Sav with a friendly jinx that would cause some minor humiliation, not that Sav would really have minded, he was pretty broken down when it came to his image after having jumped into the lake with his best friend. Any silly jinx would probably just get a laugh out of him. But he decided the odds were low and he truly had no reason not to trust Hugo. “Go for it.” he decided. She he awaited his friend’s charm, he held his arms out to his side and held his head facing slightly up, a smirk on his lips still.

Hugo wasn't really annoyed at his friend for not trusting him to remember the spell. After all, Hugo did have a habit of pulling pranks on people and Sav was definitely aware of that fact. However, the fact that Sav jumped in the lake with Hugo not because he wanted to, but because Hugo asked him to, meant that Hugo was not going to pull any pranks on his friend. Sav smirked as he agreed to allow Hugo do perform the spell. Rolling his eyes at his friend, Hugo muttered it, waving his wand and letting the spell dry Sav off. "Now do you feel better about jumping in that cold water in front of everyone?" he teased, unable to help himself. Then he sighed, "Okay, you can choose what we do now." Hugo waited, curious to see what Sav was in the mood for. Savtaj Daniel MacMillan

Sav laughed when his friend teased him. It was fair for Hugo to do so, Sav had been acting a little silly about the whole thing. He knew he was popular enough for his reputation to withstand a little public humiliation in the name of fun. And it had been fun. A lot more fun than he expected it to be. He had just been joking around when he suggested it, however, there they were, back on dry land with dry cloths, almost as if it had never happened. “Well, maybe now we can talk about what’s got you so worked up and in need of an outlet?” he asked, raising an eyebrow. He had no idea what had gotten into his friend, but this wasn’t exactly typical behavior.

Sav seemed to be in a better mood now that he was dry and Hugo was glad. He liked doing things with Sav, felt like his friend actually understood him better than most people did. He shrugged at his question. "I'm not really sure. I feel like things here have been super quiet and it's kind of stressing me out," he admitted. "After all the attacks last year and having the tournament here this year, I guess I thought things would escalate and now the year is coming to the end and I'm getting worried." He shrugged and then chuckled, "And I was stuck inside all day in class, so I needed to get my energy out somehow." Hugo cocked his head to the side and looked at his friend. "Is that a good enough explanation?" he teased. Savtaj Daniel MacMillan

Hugo explained that he was anxious that things would escalate after the events of last year and with the tournament taking place here and all. Sav couldn’t help but agree with his best friends thoughts. As unfortunate as they were. Sav felt like most students started the year very anxious to come back after the kidnappings and murders last year. Even Sav, who was confident in himself and his strength and abilities, knew to keep his wits about him when walking alone or at night. While he knew he could take on almost anyone physically with an advantage, he knew his magical defense abilities were lacking compared to most people, mostly due to a lack of trying in class. “It makes sense.” Sav nodded. “I was worried that something else had you freaked out. Something with Xan or something.” Sav admitted. “Everything alright there?” he asked, just to make sure that his friend didn’t need any leading on anything. Sometimes it was easier to talk when someone asked rather than just come out and say it.

Sav listened to his explanation, and then explained what he was worried about. Hugo made a face as he mentioned his thoughts that maybe something with Xan freaked him out. Then he smiled, "Everything's good. Xan's good. She ..." he hesitated, something coming to his thoughts. "She might have to re-do sixth year," he told his friend. It wasn't a sure thing, Xan was still discussing her options with the headmistress, but there was definitely the chance that she wouldn't be moving on to seventh year with him. He hadn't even been thinking about that ... but now that he was it made him a little sad. "That's not why I was being crazy, I only just remembered." Hugo shrugged. "Don't tell her I told you. It's not a for sure thing yet, so I don't think she's telling anyone." He trusted Sav though. Then he smiled, "We're good though. Everything's good with Xan. How are you doing?" Xan might have to repeat 6th year. That sucked. Sav knew that she spent a lot of time in the hospital wing that year, he knew that she was sick and had a particularly bad time, but he hated the idea of the school having to keep her back because of it. He didn’t know her well and almost never talked to her unless Hugo was with them. Not because he tried to avoid her or anything, it just didn’t really happen. But that didn’t mean that he didn’t care about her, especially since she was so close to his best friend, and Sav had a feeling that their relationship was gonna stick. “That sucks man. Yeah, of course I won’t say anything.” Sav liked a good gossip as much as the next person, but never about people he loved or cared about. He was a gentleman after all. “I’m glad everything else is good with her and you guys though.” he added. When Hugo asked how he was, he shrugged. “I’m fine. Feeling a bit bored in life and experience severe Quidditch withdrawal.” he admitted.

Hugo nodded when his friend commented that it sucked, agreeing to not say anything. "Thanks Sav," Hugo said, his tone a little more reserved now. He knew it wasn't that big of a deal to not have Xan in the same year as him. He could still see her and spend time with her, and it wouldn't change their relationship at all, but ... it would be weird not having her around. He knew that, but he wasn't excited to live it next year. He would miss Xan. "I can understand that," Hugo said when Sav started talking about missing Quidditch. "At least the year is almost over. You can practice as much as you want then and get ready for next year." He quirked his head to the side, "But bored in life? What does that mean?" Maybe there was something Hugo could do to help with that. Savtaj Daniel MacMillan

Sometimes, Sav felt jealous of his friend. He and Xan were so happy and so much in love. Sav had tried the whole relationship thing and didn’t really like it, he had tried to just be with one girl, and the only time that had been successful was with Roxanne, and their break up had been mutual after a while of being together. So far, everyone else bored him. He wanted a girl. He wanted someone to have fun with. He had a few friends who he could always count on for a flirt, however, they were few and far between nowadays, it seemed. Sav nodded, he could always practice Quidditch during the summer, that was true, but practicing on your own wasn’t the same. “I don’t know, maybe I feel kind of lonely?” he suggested, feeling weird about admitting it, but he knew he could talk to Hugo about anything. And Hugo was the only person he’d ever admit that too. “There’s been a lack of girls around.” he told his friend. Sav was normally someone with a different girl on his arm every day, so not even flirting regularly was weird and put him in a bit of a funk. Maybe girls were getting sick of casual and wanted a relationship? Maybe he was getting sick of casual? Maybe he was so lonely that he was actually considering getting into another relationship.

Sav answered his question, saying that he felt kind of lonely and Hugo was pretty sure he knew what his friend meant. Sav hadn't dated anyone since Roxanne. While Hugo knew that Sav enjoying having fun with all the girls and flirting, he could sense that this was something Sav was serious. He frowned, thinking as Sav went on to explain that there weren't too many girls around. "They're probably all distracted by the foreign kids," he said. He wasn't trying to make light of Sav's situation, but maybe trying to help ... somehow? Ugh, he didn't know how exactly. He hesitated, "I don't know what to tell you man. Maybe start going out of your way to talk to them? That might help ..." Hugo wasn't good at giving advice, which Sav probably knew, but he'd try. Sav was his closest friend, after all. He'd do whatever it took to help him. Savtaj Daniel MacMillan

Savtaj hadn’t been expecting Hugo to give him the advice that was going to change his life, and Hugo had delivered exactly what Sav expected from him, but even though it was a little less than helpful, Sav found himself thankful that he even just had the man there to talk to about it all. Sav wasn't someone who was good with sharing his feelings and never felt like he would be. But every now and then, not matter how uncomfortable it made him, at least he had someone who would listen without judging him. “I wouldn't mind getting to know some of the foreign students myself.” the man gave a bit of a snicker. “But yeah - I mean, don’t worry about me. I’m fine just feeling a little caged in I suppose.” Sav shrugged and stretched his arm over his head. Anytime that the man spent too much time not doing anything, he started to feel very antsy. And before Hugo had found him and insisted that they do something, Sav had just been laying in the lawns feeling sorry for himself.
