If there was one place Addie Lee likes as much as Honeyduke's, it was Zonko's. Well, Weasleys' in Diagon was a lot more fun, but Zonko's was good enough while she was in school. It did have a lot of the new products after all. Addie Lee had been looking for some new jokes to play on her friends. She was never cruel with her jokes, but she could be mischievous and cunning. That was what being a Slytherin was all about after all.
Addie Lee looked about at the new products. She saw two Hufflepuff boys trying out a handbuzzer that made the person taking it glow. She then looked over an object called a "Banshee In A Box". She opened it and an illusion that looked like a real banshee popped out and wailed at her. She quickly closed it.
"Okay, that's a maybe," she said. A BIG maybe. She didn't want to traumatize anyone. She then saw a novelty rainbow gum that caused someone's face to change colors... over and over again. "Hmm... interesting." Soon, Addie Lee found herself not knowing what to buy. That was always the case at the joke shops for her.

Okay so Zonkos wasn't Hugo's favorite place. How could it be, when he practically grew up at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes? Still, it was always a good place to visit when he want to Hogsmeade. Hugo liked to see the new things they came out with, even though he definitely believed that the quality in his family's store was better. He was pretty sure everyone else thought that as well, not that he believed anyone would really tell him if they thought otherwise.
He smiled when he saw a very familiar-looking girl seeming to stare around at everything. Hugo chuckled and approached her. "You find anything you like?" he teased. So what if he didn't know her? Hugo teased everything, and a stranger was no different. It always made things interesting, seeing how people responded to his teasing. Some hated it, while others went along with it. At least the fact that this girl seemed so intrigued by things in a joke shop meant she might have some humor. He'd have to see.

Addie Lee was really considering buying the gum when she heard a voice behind her. She turned and smiled at the sight of the handsome bloke. She had gotten used to handsome blokes walking up to her, but she never grew tired of it.
"Several things," she said with a wink. She then cleared her throat. "I'm deciding to either go with the gum or the Banshee In A Box. The banshee just scared me half to death though, and I'm wondering if that's a good thing or a bad thing. What do you think?"
She then remembered her manners. She wasn't perfectly behaved, far from it, but she had the basic manners down most of the time.
"I'm Addie Lee by the way, and who..." She then got a close look at him. "Wait... you're my friend Lily's cousin, aren't you? I'm thinking... Hugo?" She knew Lily had a huge extended family, so she hoped she was right. She guessed she'd find out soon. Addie Lee knew the Potter and Weasley Families were legendary, but she had always seen Lily Potter as a good friend and not a celebrity. She would do the same for Hugo if he was as cool as he seemed.

The girl was smiling, saying that she was looking at several things and he chuckled. She continued to elaborate and he laughed louder. "It's definitely a good thing. Being scared out of your wits is fun, and if it got you it'll probably be able to get others. I'll have to stay on guard now," he teased. Hugo doubted he'd be a target, since he didn't know the girl, but maybe now he would be. Oh well. If he was, that would be fun too.
She introduced herself and he prepared to do the same, but before he could she was asking if she was Lily's cousin Hugo. He grinned at her and bowed, "At your service," he teased, standing up straight again. "It's nice to meet you Addie Lee," he said, not offering his hand. He hoped she wouldn't be offended by that. He put his hands in his pockets, just to be sure. He didn't want to touch her and bring on a vision of her death. That made it harder to act normal with people, especially ones that didn't know him. "So are you looking for things to prank with then?" Hugo asked with a smile.

Addie Lee laughed about the scare being a good thing. He had a good point though. Being scared was fun. Her favorite holiday was Halloween after all. She liked that this bloke saw things that way.
"I think I'll go with the Banshee in a Box then," she said. "And I don't think I have the heart to play a joke on someone as adorable as you." It was true. He was really cute in a fun, sweet way.
Addie Lee was about to offer her hand, but saw that Hugo had his in his pockets. Maybe he wasn't a touchy-feely person. That was fine. Addie Lee never forced her affection on people. He seemed as nice as Lily, and that's what counted.
"Don't say at my service," she chuckled. "I might boss you around more than you want. Kidding, kidding. I'm glad I got your name right. You have quite the large family after all." She grinned when Hugo asked if she was looking for things to prank with. "Oh yes. There's a few people in my House asking for it. Slytherins who make the rest of us look bad, like we're the spawn of You-Know-Who." She had heard horror stories about Voldemort and what he did, so much that she didn't want to say his name as many once didn't. "They need a lesson or two in manners. Want to help me teach them, mate?"

Hugo grinned when she said that she'd get the Banshee. "Nice choice," he commented. Then he laughed when she said she couldn't play a prank on him because he was adorable. "It's a gift," he said with a shrug.
He started to laugh again at her comment about bossing him around. "Oh, I don't think I have anything to worry about there. I'd probably drive you crazy before you could boss me around too much," he teased. "I'm pretty good at being annoying." She started talking about how some people in her house deserved it, explaining why. "Oooooh, like who?" he asked with interest. Then he started nodding his head vigorously. "Yes, I want to help. I'm always down for pranking people!"

Addie Lee grinned at Hugo who spoke of his adorableness as a gift. Was it any wonder that he was Lily's cousin? She wondered if all of Lily and Albus' family was like this.
"Well it's a very nice gift if you ask me," she said. "Don't waste it now, mate." Life did that to some people, took away their best features and personality. It had almost did that to her, but she overcame it... to an extent.
Addie Lee laughed about being driven crazy while trying to boss Hugo around. She probably couldn't bring herself to doing that either. Again, this boy was just a doll like Lily.
"Some think I'm crazy already, so I doubt you could add to it," she joked. "But maybe I'll let you try some time... or perhaps we can just hang out a bit and have some fun?"
He then offered to help with pranking some Slytherins. She named a few to him and sighed.
"You know, it's bad enough that Slytherin doesn't have the best reputation already, but I don't know why some of them have to add to it," she said. "I don't know why someone would want to be the next... well... you know why I'm talking about. I try to prove that some of us Slytherins can actually be decent now and then... though it certainly wouldn't hurt to piss off a few of the bad eggs, show'em we won't settle for their rubbish." She then looked about. "The Banshee could be a fun trick, but I think we need something more... subtle."

Hugo grinned and then shook his head, "Oh, don't worry. I'm smart enough to know not to waste something like this." Of course, he was just messing around, but it was all in good fun. This was what Hugo did, teased and played around with the people he got along with.
He shrugged as she said he couldn't add to her craziness. "We can hang out and have some fun," he answered before a smirk slid onto his face. "And maybe in the process I'll see if I can drive you crazy or not."
He nodded as she started explaining what she was talking about, the Slytherins who weren't easy to get along with. He knew them, one was even his cousin. "I know what you mean," he said, agreeing with her as she continued. "It's hard for some people to get past the Slytherin stereotype after they've met those people." She started looking around again and he watched her curiously, smiling when she went on. "What kind of thing are you thinking?" he asked.

Addie Lee chuckled at Hugo not wasting his gift. She imagined it got him a lot of love from people. She certainly liked him already. There was something about the Potter/Weasley Family, and it wasn't just their legendary past. They just all seemed so damn wonderful, at least the ones she knew.
"Well good, I hope not," she said. "It make me smile, mate."
Addie Lee laughed louder about Hugo driving her crazy while they hung out. This was going to be fun.
"I look forward to it," she said. "Maybe you can drive me mad while I buy you a butterbeer? You know, a little 'new friends' gesture and all."
Addie Lee frowned about the other Slyherin thing, and then remembered that Hugo's cousin was in it. She wondered how his family felt about that, since so many of them were Gryffindors. She imagined it was something like her dad's family being disappointed that he was a Ravenclaw instead of a Slytherin. Then again, her dad's family were jerks.
"They're not all bad," she said. "Your cousin, Albus, is a good bloke. Never had a foul word with him. Wish more Slytherins could be like him in fact." Addie Lee then looked about as Hugo asked what she was thinking of. She then grinned. "Chocolate. I know some who love chocolate. So... we need some chocolate candy with a little... added ingredient. Shall we look about the joke candies?"

Hugo gave another teasing shrug at her words, "It's a gift," he said easily. Really, just getting along with people like this was easy, especially when they were as likable as Addie Lee. How had he never really spoken with her before? This was definitely pretty fun.
She suggested that he could drive her crazy while she bought him a butterbeer and Hugo nodded, "That sounds like a good plan to me." He'd planned on going to the Three Broomsticks after this anyway, so the fact that she wanted to buy him a drink was good to him.
Addie Lee was right when she started talking about Slytherins and how they weren't all bad. He nodded yet again. "I know. Albus is good and there are a few others. I don't blame Slytherins for the bad reputation they get. I think that everyone should have a chance to prove themselves before a label gets placed on them." She started talking about lacing the chocolate with something and Hugo laughed. He liked the way she thought. He hadn't really targeted specific people with his pranking before, but it was definitely interesting. "Why not," he agreed, leading the way to where the candies were in the joke shop. He knew this store very well.

Addie Lee was tempted to just give Hugo a great big kiss on the cheek, but decided that might not be the best idea if it turned out he wasn't about physical affection. Still, he did have some kissable cheeks. He was just adorable all over. Yep, she had definitely found another great guy to hang out with.
Addie Lee grinned when Hugo agreed to the idea of butterbeer. She could always use one or three of those, and it was more enjoyable drinking them with a good mate.
"Alright, then it's on to the Three-B after this," she said. "I'm practically getting thirsty already." Who was she kidding, she was always thirsty for butterbeer... among other beverages.
Addie Lee was glad Hugo thought that way. She hated the prejudice among some Slytherins, and likewise disliked the prejudice some had toward all Slytherins as well. She remembered the dirty looks she got her first few years at Hogwarts before she established herself as a fun and friendly person. Even now, new Slytherins got those.
"I like the way you think, mate," she said. "Thanks for giving this snake a chance."
Addie Lee did a silly little dance over to the joke candies. She then looked about they were well stoked today, so it would be a tough choice.
"Let's see," she said. "We have chocolate candy that will make you cough, sneeze, vomit, grow hair in odd places, produce massive warts, speak in any language but your native one, grow larger, grow smaller, grow... diagonally, smell like fish, smell like rotten fish, smell like a rotten fishmonger, and the ever-popular chocolate that gives you a massive sugar-rush continuously for three days straight. Which sounds good to you?"

She was grinning, obviously happy with the conversation, as well as the plan to go to the Three Broomsticks after this and Hugo couldn't help but smile back at her. That kind of enthusiasm was contagious and he loved being around people that had it. Helped keep his own energy up, which he loved, of course. "Done! I could use some butterbeer right now."
She thanked him for giving her a chance, saying she liked the way he thought and Hugo shrugged, "It's only fair that way," was his simple response. He knew that some people didn't give others that kind of chance, but Hugo wanted people to give him a chance, so he might as well.
He laughed as she danced her way over to the candies, following her but not copying her. It was interesting to watch such a seemingly-happy person plan out ways to prank people. A good, fun kind of interesting. He grinned as she started telling him the kinds that were available. "Personally, I prefer the speak in a different language one ... but grow smaller or smell like a rotten fish sound like fun too. What do you think?"

Addie Lee really did want to get to the Three Broomsticks now. She LOVED butterbeer. She didn't want to say she was addicted, but every time it was mentioned, she wanted one. She would need to finish her shopping fast.
"We'll be there in a flash then, mate!" she said. "Well... almost a flash. I don't want to leave without the right tools for the right job if you know what I mean."
Addie Lee smiled about Hugo being fair. She then chuckled a bit.
"It's funny," she said. "I'm a Slytherin, my mum's a Hufflepuff, and my dad and sister are Ravenclaws, but as far as Houses outside my own, I seem to get along with Gryffindors the most. I mean, I'm friends with your cousin, Lily, and you and I aren't getting along right away."
Addie Lee nodded in agreement at Hugo's preferences. They sounded great. She was about to tell him so when her eyes lit up at something. She pulled the box down.
"A-ha!" she said. "Just what we need... a variety pack! Over eight different flavors in here, and not a bad deal for it."

Hugo grinned when she said that they'd get to the Three Broomsticks in a flash, but not quite because she needed to get the things that she needed. "I understand that," he said with an easygoing nod. If he were planning the type of prank that she was, he would definitely want to get his materials before he relaxed.
He shrugged when she started explaining her connections to all the houses, laughing when she finished by talking about the Gryffindors and his cousin Lily. "Well that's because we're the most likable," he said with a laugh. Of course he didn't believe that. He knew enough people from other houses to be able to really believe something like that. But lots of the Gruffindors were really easy to get along with.
She seemed to be about to grab the ones he suggested, until she saw something else. Hugo didn't even know what she saw, but he figured she'd let him in on it. And she did. A variety pack. Hugo laughed as she pulled it down. "Well that sounds perfect then. You ready to go?" Maybe she wanted something else, but he wouldn't know that unless she said so.
