@sephy She let out her breath, having not even realized that she had been holding it in the first place. Getting confirmation from Persephone was apparently a bigger deal than she had originally realized. There were so many ways that her secret could have been interpreted, each sibling giving a different take on it, or receiving it in a specific way. Diana probably already knew, Kinsey would have pitied her, and there was no telling how the other three would react. Cara definitely didn’t want Kinsey pitying her. That would be a cataclysmic end to their already rocky relationship, even if she hadn’t meant it the way Cara knew she would inevitably interpret it. “You’re welcome. You can do it if you work at it. Got that?” At least Seph listened to her. Calling her gullible didn’t seem right to Cara, although her sister’s outlook on life was certainly malleable to an extent. Granting her insight on what was to come for her final two years at Hogwarts was an indispensable gift that only the special ones got. Kinsey had basically refused it without it ever being offered, and Dustin had always done his own thing. Seph seemed to eat it up though, which was a good thing because Cara knew she was right about studying and exams. She had been the perfect test subject herself.
Persephone basically blew up with her description of Quinn, even going ahead and duplicating her feelings on the Ravenclaw in just as many breaths. Cara supposed it was a good thing to have a good friend to rely on. She had friends, sure, but none like that. There were certain things she couldn’t tell Dominic, and Susan didn’t need to be burdened with all of her woes. Diana was really the only one left, and they had to be friends because they were twins. That was how it worked, right? “My friends are…” she started, before abruptly stopping to figure out how to explain her lack of friends. “Maybe. I’m sure you’ve met Dominic already. He’s the handsome one that can’t get enough of me. Always following me around like a puppy.” Cara hated describing the boy like that, but she knew that was how it looked to outsiders, and even to her at times. Seph thanked her again, this time about the offer to help with schoolwork, and Cara smiled down at her as she received another hug. “Which reminds me,” she said, holding up her notebook. “I kind of need to get back to work.” Even though the notes were her stories and not schoolwork, work was work. Giving her sister a pat on the head as she pulled away from the last hug, Cara went through the entrance to the Ravenclaw common room.

She felt herself nodding enthusiastically at Cara's words of encouragement, so glad that her sister supported her. The words really made her feel like she could do well on her O.W.Ls as well as just in school in general. Not nearly as good as Cara but well enough to achieve her goals and get whatever she wanted to be. She still had two more years of school left to get through before she had to find a job but she could make it through them doing her best. Working at it, as Cara had put it. And she had her sisters and Quinn to help her through it. Right now she needed to focus on her O.W.Ls though and she felt much better about the exams than she had before. She still hadn't decided if she was going to sit them for all of the classes she'd taken during the year but it was probably better to study for all of them anyway, just in case. Just knowing she had so many people she could ask for help with her studying made her feel full with her happiness.
Cara went on to describe her friends once Seph had asked about them. She described someone by the name of Dominic, Cara mentioning that she was sure that Seph had seen him around. The handsome that that can't get enough of her? Seph didn't think she'd ever seen someone matching that description. The name didn't ring any bells either but she knew, every once in a while when she spotted her sister, there would be a boy near her. Seph hadn't assumed that it was Cara's boyfriend because Cara had never mentioned having a boyfriend so she hadn't known what to make of him. Maybe that was the friend she was referring to? She hadn't met him directly but maybe she should considering that Cara was mentioning him as a friend. "No, I haven't met him yet but I'm sure I will! He's your friend, I have to meet him," she spoke with a big smile on her face and nodded happily. It was then that Cara mentioned having to get back to work. Seph had probably taken up enough of her time; Cara needed to study just like she did. There was a ping of sadness in her heart but she also felt happy that she'd gotten to talk to her sister at all. "Okay... I'll see you later Cara! I love you!" With a pat on her head, she watched as Cara entered into the Ravenclaw common room, wishing she could follow. She probably needed to go back and study herself. She turned and began making the trip back to her own common room. Tag; cara june bainbridge ((The End! finally))
