Liona seemed to be amused by the whole situation, and Jamie just looked back at her curiously, wondering what was making the other girl look the way she was. Sure, it wasn’t exactly a typical place to dance, but Jamie had long since made her peace with being typical – it was just never going to happen, at least not for her. Liona said that she was never going to say no to dancing with Jamie, and the Hufflepuff offered another small smile, a little shyer than she had thought it would be. It was weird, how sometimes Liona made her want to retreat back into her shell and other times the Slytherin girl made the Hufflepuff blossom. Jamie was still trying to figure out why sometimes it was one way and other times the other, but she was hoping that she’d have a lot of time to uncover the specifics behind that particular mystery.
Jamie nodded when her girlfriend asked if she could lead that time. Jamie had lead before when they were dancing in the Room of Requirement, but that was because she needed to feel like she was in control of things, and like she was secure. Letting someone else take control wasn’t always Jamie’s forte, but she trusted Liona, and she wanted to make the Slytherin feel happy and comfortable, too. The rain thrummed around them and the breeze sent shivers across her skin, but Jamie was content, standing there and dancing in the rain with her girlfriend while the world around them slowed. It was just the two of them and the rain, and that was all Jamie could have asked for.

Liona pulled Jamie close to her as she moved in the rain, hand placed gently at the small of her back. She wouldn't look anywhere but into Jamie's eyes, a smile on her face yet she still felt shy as she did so though she tried not to show it. A few giggles escapes her when she spun the blonde or went under her arm in a spin. She was just so... happy. Genuinely happy. Not content, not pleased, but full with the heavy weight that her happiness brought. After a little while she giggled at the sight they must have made. Jamie's face was covered in rain, as was hers she was sure. She took the time, bringing her hand up and wiping some of the droplets away. She knew it was useless but any reason to touch her was a good one. "You aren't cold yet, are you?" she asked the question with a teasing tone. She probably should have been; her raincoat wasn't enough coverage to keep her warm and her braids felt much heavier on her back so she knew they were well on their way to soaked. The rain didn't seem like it was letting up any time soon, but she felt perfectly fine. "We can keep dancing if it keeps you warm." The thought occurred to her then that she wanted to call her something cute, like 'honey' or 'dear' but none of those seemed fitting and she was drawing a blank on one that suited. She couldn't just call her anything. This was her girlfriend after all. Did she even want a nickname? She almost asked; her mouth opened and closed suddenly. She wanted to think of one before she even brought it up. Tag; @jamie OOTD; Here

Dancing with Liona in the lead was a strange experience, mostly because it was different from anything that Jamie had ever anticipated. But she looked into those warm brown eyes, and she knew that, for a little while, it was okay to surrender control. It was okay to let someone else control her fate, even if that fate was just whether or not she ended up tripping over her feet or face-first in the mud. Liona wiped some of the rain off of Jamie’s cheek, and the Hufflepuff smiled. The downpour didn’t show any signs of stopping, so the gesture was futile, but the feeling of Liona’s hand against her face kept Jamie’s focused on the moment that they were in. Liona asked if she was cold, and the blonde shook her head. “I run warmer than most.” She responded. Jamie had always attributed that to her lycanthropy. Liona offered to keep dancing if it would keep Jamie warm, and the Hufflepuff smiled. “Why can’t we keep dancing just for the sake of dancing?” She asked. There wasn’t any malice in her voice – just curiosity. To Jamie, dancing didn’t need a purpose. They hadn’t started with their dance with any intention other than to release the joy that they were feeling about their relationship being official, and they didn’t need to keep doing it for any other reason, either. They could just be.

The comment Jamie made about her seemingly warmer temperature made Liona smile. It was something that she'd noticed every time she'd been near her but now especially, being in her arms like this, she could definitely feel what she meant. It made her want to stay as close to her as possible with the rain still coming down with no end in sight. She wrapped her arms around the blonde's waist in an effort to soak up a bit of her warmth. her next question caught her slightly off guard though, even if she asked it with a smile on her face. She tilted her head in thought and wondered if there was some deeper meaning to the question that she was missing. "We can if you would like. Honestly Jamie," she released one arm from her waist to grab onto her hand again and began swaying slowly to the sounds the raindrops made as they hit the ground, her rain coat, and their hands, "I just really like making you happy and I'd like to do whatever accomplishes that." She gave a light squeeze to her hand as she smiled, her words completely honest. "But I also know this was supposed to be a Hogsmeade trip and I know you have a limited amount of time before you'll want to get back to studying for your N.E.W.Ts. I'm happy spending that time with you however you want though." She was studying for N.E.W.Ts too but she felt more secure about them after all of the studying she'd done so far. And spending time with Jamie was getting harder because of them. And then graduation would be here before they knew it. She didn't know what would happen after that, but she felt more confident in there being a 'them' after graduation. More confident that there was more time to spend with Jamie after graduation. Liona said that they could keep dancing if she liked, saying that she just wanted to make Jamie happy, no matter what would accomplish that. Jamie was slightly taken aback by the answer – she had spent most of her life trying to make other people happy, so it was a bit disorienting when someone was devoted to doing the same thing for her. Liona said she knew that this was supposed to be a Hogsmeade trip, and that Jamie had a limited amount of time, and the Hufflepuff shrugged. “Hogsmeade isn’t going anywhere.” It wasn’t like they couldn’t return to the town after they graduated. Jamie was more interesting in capturing the joy of moments, no matter how small. It seemed a little silly to her to ruin the happiness of the moment that they had created so spontaneously just because it went against plans that they had made – plans that were relatively unimportant and malleable in the first place. The whole point of going on dates wasn’t to be in a specific place with someone, or even be doing anything specific. They just needed to learn more about each other, and personally, Jamie thought she learned more about Liona right there, dancing in the downpour, than she ever would have huddled under an umbrella and waking through the streets of Hogsmeade. “What do you want to do?” Jamie asked curiously. She would be equally happy no matter what they did, so Liona’s goal was going to be accomplished no matter what, and Jamie was curious as to what her new girlfriend would prefer to spend their time on.

Liona focused on the features of her girlfriend's face as she spoke. She was right, Hogsmeade wasn't going anywhere any time soon. But their time together, their time right now, was. The time was counting down and, at some point in the near future, they would need to leave in order to get some things done. They'd both need to go back to studying for their N.E.W.Ts and while that didn't mean much, while it didn't mean that they wouldn't see each other again soon, Liona wanted to make the most of the little times that they did spend together. She wanted to do so much. She wanted to dance with her, she wanted to buy her things she didn't need, she wanted to kiss her, she wanted to show her how much she cared about her and how happy she was that she'd asked her to be her girlfriend. She wanted a lot. But there wasn't a lot of time left for her to do all of those things. So she had to choose. Jamie asked her what she wanted to do then and the only thing that came to mind was to make her as happy as she already felt. So instead of breaking the moment and going off to Hogsmeade as originally planned, Liona pulled her closer in their slow sway, resting her head on the taller girl's shoulder and continued dancing. The rain really didn't seem as if it would be letting up any time soon and though Liona did feel a little bit of the chill, she was fine right where she was. "I quite like where we are actually. We'll stay." The words were almost whispers but she held on tight. Like she could stay there forever. Tag; @jamie OOTD; Here ((The End!!! finally))
