Graduation was looming up in front of her and Anna wasn't ready for it. She realized now that the Tournament was over that she spent so much time worrying and preparing for it that she didn't really think about the end of the year and the fact that it was her last year at Hogwarts. She wasn't ready to graduate! What about all her friends and classes and just having fun? Granted, she did a lot with all those things over the last year, but that didn't mean she felt like she was ready for it to be over yet.
She realized when she woke up that she hadn't spoken with one of her closest friends lately- Andy. So Anna was hanging around in the Common Room, waiting for her dorm-mate to show up so Anna could claim her attention and they could do something. Even talking. Anna just didn't want to leave school without making sure she connected with the people that meant a lot to her. Now the only question was ... where was Andy?

Andy had just leftthe greenhouses after another fight with Phil. She marched into the common room, fully prepared to go up to her dorm when she stopped, seeing Anna.
When was the last time she had talked to her friend? She couldn't remember. At least not talking one-on-one. And I had been so focused on the tournament, and everyone was so focused on exams that it was hard for anything personal. As her and Phil were realizing.
Andy took a few steps back, in order to turn and head towards Anna. She smiled Softly, hoping her eyes weren't surrounded by red... But they probably were. "Hey Anna Banana," she greeted.

Andy didn't look really happy. Anna wasn't exactly sure what was going on, but she could tell that something wasn't the way it should be. "Andy," Anna greeted with a grin. "I was actually looking for you," she admitted, stepping closer to her friend. "It's been a long time since we last talked with one another. Wanna have a chat?" Anna watched Andy closely. She knew that her friend had a tendency to withdraw herself when things weren't going great. Still, Anna wasn't going to push her friend into it if she wasn't in the mood. Thus, the question.

Anna said her name, saying that she was actually looking for her. At the offer of having a chat with Anna, Andys eyes started to sting a little. She nodded, sitting down. "Congratulations, Anna. I'm sure you've heard it enough," about the tournament, of course. Anna was the champion, which wasn't surprising to Andy. Andy had thought that Emile would win for a while there, but she was glad he didn't. Well, in all honesty she didn't care, but she was happy for her best friend.
Best friend. It was strange to think how many of those she actually had now. Phil, Jamie, Cecelia, Susan, Bay, Anna. It was like her best friend list was growing so rapidly and surely that she was building some kind of safety wall around her out of them. It was... nice.

Andy didn't seem herself, though Anna didn't really want to bring that up first thing. She knew her friend was pretty independent and didn't always like to confide about things, so Anna wasn't going to push her into explaining what was wrong. If she seemed to get worse ... Anna might ask about it, but she didn't want to make a big deal out of nothing, if it was nothing. She smiled automatically when Andy congratulated her. "It still doesn't feel real," she admitted with a small shrug. Sure, Anna wanted to win the entire time, but a part of her always expected Emile to take the prize. He was so confident and sure of himself, how could he not? "How are you doing?" she asked after a minute. She wasn't necessarily referring to how emotional Andy seemed, but was rather asking how her friend was in general. She wasn't going to explain that. She wanted to know whatever Andy wanted to share with her.

Anna said that it didn't feel real and Andy chuckled lightly. Then Anna asked how she was doing and it was Andy's turn to shrug. "Fine, I suppose. Feeling weird about school ending," Andy really didn't have that much going on, she just was wrapped up in a lot of small things. Like Phil being so busy and their fights, and deciding to join the hit Witch program and not telling anyone yet, and exams, and school ending. It was all a lot of small things that made something big. Well, maybe her and Phil fighting wasn't small.
She sighed, "Phil hasn't been feeling well, but in the way I can't help, so that's not fun," she finally added, feeling bad that she hadn't mentioned that before the school ending thing.

Anna nodded when Andy said that it was weird that school was ending now. "I know. I feel like we just started school a little while again and now we're graduating." It was weird. A part of Anna didn't want to leave, especially since she didn't know what she wanted to do with her life anymore. It made everything so much more complicated.
She was brought back to the conversation when Andy mentioned that Phil wasn't feeling well. "He's not feeling well?" Why hadn't she heard of this before? "Is everything okay? I'm sorry Andy," she said, leaning forward to give her friend a hug. Anna felt bad that she hadn't been as supportive to Andy during the last little while. She'd been too caught up in the Tournament and Oscar to really make time for much else in her life and that was on her.

Andy chuckled a little and nodded at Andy's comment. She agreed, of course. Anna was all famous now and could probably get a job anywhere she wanted. People knew her skills because of the tournament, that was as good a resume as anything.
As the conversation turned to Phil, Andy's throat tightened. Then Anna gave her a hug but she didn't return it, just letting Anna do all the work for a moment. She shook her head. "It's nothing to worry about," she said softly, pulling back. "How is Oscar?"

Anna could tell when her friend was feeling stressed about something and the second she mentioned Phil it was there. Something was wrong, whether or not she wanted to talk about it. Andy didn't return the hug, which wasn't altogether surprising because she wasn't really the touchy type, but Anna still felt worried. She said it wasn't something to worry about and Anna frowned. "All right," she started, "but if you want to talk about that or anything, I'm here for you. Always." She looked into Andy's eyes, wanting to make sure the girl knew she meant it.
Then she asked about Oscar and Anna smiled. "He's good. Happy that I won the tournament, but I think a little disappointed too. He still wishes he could have been chosen as Champion," she said. "But good. He's going to move to London after he graduates." She couldn't keep the smile off her face at that thought. Knowing that Oscar wouldn't be far away for long was one of the most calming things Anna could imagine.

Anna said that she could be there for her, always, if Andy wanted to talk. Andy nodded. Andy knew that, but it was always still nice to hear. She loved Anna, but for some reason it was hard to talk about things with people outright. With Susan she just gave little details and Susan filled in the blanks. With Anna, it was easier to just... be with her, rather than do the talking about the things that were bothering her.
Anna smiled at the mention of her boyfriend, which made Andys heart ache, but she smiled too. "He can prove himself in the adult world. Plenty of danger out there," Andy commented. "I'm glad he's moving here! Are you... moving in together?" she asked. Her and Phil hoped to not move in together unless they got married first, so they were going to be sure to have separate bedrooms at the Leaky or even stay in separate places. The plan was for her to live at the Leaky and he at the manor. Right now, she didn't know what any plans were.

Andy didn't say anything about Anna's offer to talk and Anna didn't push it. She knew that Andy only talked to people when she was good and ready and Anna didn't want to put any strain on their friendship. She cared too much about Andy for that.
Anna's sense that something was wrong with Andy intensified as they talked about Oscar, but she didn't say anything. Obviously Andy didn't want to talk about it. "He doesn't have to prove himself to me," Andy probably already knew that, but Anna said it anyway. Then she shook her head, "We've talked about what to do after we graduate, but I don't have a place to stay yet, so I'll be staying with my parents for a bit ... until I find somewhere else to stay." Anna shrugged, "I don't really know what I'm doing with myself after graduation, so I guess we're going to figure it out together."

Andy said he didn't have to prove himself, which was obvious. They weren't talking about moving in together it seemed, which was alright. Anna's parents could give her a roof over her head. She said she didn't know what she was doing and Andy chuckled, "who really does, though?" Andy asked. In all reality, Andy had changed her mind on her career about three times, but she finally chose one that she was comfortable with. She wasn't about to tell Anna just yet, though. "Maybe something where you can help people. I mean, I know you like that kind of stuff, right?" she said, "and you're very talented, I'm sure anyone would be happy to have you."

Anna smiled when her friend chuckled. "Yeah, I guess that's true. It's just ... there are so many people that seem like they have it all figured out, you know? Like, they know what they want to do and I used to, but now ... now I'm just trying to find somewhere where I'll fit." Which felt like nowhere. What did you do after winning a tournament known for being dangerous, and receiving a large amount of money for a prize? Technically she didn't even need to work, except Anna really couldn't see herself sitting around and doing nothing. She nodded as Andy mentioned helping people. "That's a good idea. I do like helping people." She thought about it, trying to decide what way she wanted to help people. "Maybe I'll look into that some more." Anna sighed, turning her attention to her friend, "Do you know what you want to do now? Still healing?" She and Andy hadn't talked about that in a while, so she figured she might as well check.

Anna said so many people seemed like they had it all figured out and Andy shook her head. "They're all pretending," Andy said, her voice firm. "And fitting doesn't matter. Your heart does," she said, just as confident. Anna said that she did like helping people and said she would look into that some more, asking what Andy wanted to do. "Looking around a little," was the only answer Andy gave. "Doesn't matter what we choose now, you can always change your mind later," Andy added. "You're never to old to change your mind is what I think. It'd even be nice to have a series of skills, tons of different experiences, you know?"

Andy spoke with conviction, saying that all the people were pretending and Anna smiled, believing her friend. "Well that's a relief. Glad I'm not the only one." She was kind of teasing, but she was also a bit serious. It was nice to know that she wasn't the only one not knowing what she was doing. She nodded when Andy said she was looking around at jobs, commenting they could always change. "Yeah, that's a good point." Anna laughed a little. "I know that, but when I think about jobs I keep on thinking about what I want to do for the rest of my life, but you're right. I need to remember that." Really, she did. "But I like your idea about getting different experiences. I think that's a good idea, to try new things and find what I want." She sighed, feeling a little more relieved now. Of course, she knew that tomorrow she would probably worry about jobs again, but at the moment she felt at peace. That was a nice change.
