It shocked Alice a little how surprisingly easy it was to talk to this stranger. Before Carcer, she avoided people in general. She never would have talked to a person like this, and would have likely thwarted off any person trying to talk to her too. The blonde smiled a little wider this time when the man asked where she had been in America. Considering his accent, she could see why that had got his attention. "The west, mainly," she shrugged. "Montana, I think? We camped out looking for unicorns," she explained happily. The memory was a fond one for the Hufflepuff.
It occurred to Alice then that she had not yet heard this man's name. And she hadn't told him hers, either. That was weird, but the conversation had flowed so effortlessly up to this point there hadn't really been a need to. But now Alice felt it appropriate to introduce herself properly. "I'm Alice, by the way. Alice Longbottom," she offered out her hand to the man with a genuine smile.

”That’s awesome. That’s where I learned how to ride a horse.” He had stopped there after Arizona and before Canada. That was quite a while ago. Back when he left home, he stayed in the US for a while, but then to see the world. ”Did you have a chance to spot any unicorns. Their quite beautiful there.” The better word was majestic. Much like the Thunderbird that he was able to spot in his travels.
When the girl gave her name and reached out her hand, Aiden grabbed it and shook it. Alice was a pretty name. ”Aiden Valentine. It’s nice to officially meet you.” He chuckled. The two seemed to have such great chemistry. They had continued to talk for quite a while without considering the fact that they had, up until no, been complete strangers. This didn’t come as a major shock, because once Aiden started to talk about animals or magical beasts, he just couldn’t stop.

Alice let her eyebrows raise when the stranger said he had learned to ride horses in Montana. "Really? That must be fun, I've never done that," she mused, though she had ridden on an Abraxan before. Though Alice didn't feel quite comfortable retelling that story to anyone just yet. "I did see some. We came across a small herd," she told him happily. "They really are beautiful creatures." She agreed slightly more shyly.
When the man, who introduced himself as Aiden, shook her hand, Alice felt her face get hot briefly. She had to remind herself that this was how adults in the real world met, how they introduced one another. She was slowly getting better at it. "So how long have you been in England?" She decided asking how long he planned to stay sounded inappropriate.

Aiden couldn’t help but smile when the girl showed interest. While he didn’t seem to do it often, he enjoyed conversing with another human being. ”Never? You really should. I could teach you, if you’d like.” Wait, what?! Did he really just say that. He had just met this girl. But he really couldn’t deny that there was a connection. Hopefully it would be alright. Aiden nodded in agreement. Unicorns were some of the most majestic, beautiful and calming creatures that he has seen.
Aiden shook the girl's hand firmly, but gently. ”Only a couple of weeks.” He could have gone up and found a place in Wales, but being in London, gave him the opportunity to travel to other countries near by. They were all so close. ”So what about you? Did you grow up here?” He hopped that wasn’t too rude. But with her accent, he thought that she must be from around here, in one way or another.

Did... did this virtual stranger just offer to teach her how to ride a horse? The offer certainly caught Alice off guard. Though she would be lying if she told herself she didn't find him attractive, plus he seemed to share the same love for animals that she did. And that was a huge deal to the Hufflepuff alum. After a brief moment, Alice blinked herself back to reality to respond. "D-do you know where to ride horses in London?" She asked. Alice had never looked into it, so she had no idea where she could do such a thing but surely there had to be a muggle place to do that somewhere.
So, this guy was new to London. No wonder Alice had never seen him before. She had thought that she surely would have had a run in with him by now if he was an English native, but the idea of him being from the States was very intriguing to Alice. She had so many questions that she knew she had to hold back lest she sound like a maniac. "Well, welcome to London," she said with a smile. When Aiden then asked if she had grown up here herself, she smiled slightly more widely as she nodded shyly. "Mhmm," she began, adjusting herself in her seat. "My father worked at our school. And my family owns the inn up the street."

The girl took a while to respond, and in that time, Aiden regretted his actions. Why had he said that, what was he thinking. Maybe he was a little over eager to make a connection. He liked talking to people and making friends, and he was planning on being in London for a while, He would keep his job while he explored the area around. This was mostly to satisfy his parents from worrying about him constantly. He kind of chuckled when she asked if he knew a spot ”No, but I’m sure I could look it up. I-if you're interested.” He didn’t know may sites around, but he did want to take some time to sight see. But he had found that he wanted to first get used to the wizarding world, and the places that were more like “needs” like a supermarket or grocery story. Plus he did have a baby augurey to look after. Those things, and his new job made it hard to get to know the no-mag and world around him.
He smiled when she welcomed him. ”Thanks” The girl seemed excited when he asked if she was from around here. ”No way, that's so cool. He had heard about the school in London. Didn’t they have a couple wars fought there? And there was something about a tournament or something. But the inn was something that he could really file away. He had been wanting to try the food there. It seemed really interesting. No he had a reason, and maybe he would bump into this girl again. While they were spending time now, he really wanted to see her again. Alice was a great girl. ”I’ve been wanting to check it out sometime. But I’ve been a little busy.” It was rough having a job. He didn’t nearly have enough time that he wanted.
Around this time, Sol the raven thought it would be an excellent time to try to get some of the insects in one of the bags. But Aiden caught him. ”Hey” He leaned forward to push the bird back a bit. ”You know those are for Grimm.” He looked back up at the girl and smiled. ”He’s impossible sometimes. So Alice, do you have any animal friends?” He would say “pet” but Sol was more like a lifelong companion. He couldn’t imagine his life without him.

If she was interested? Alice, being an avid animal lover, was of course more than interested. For a moment, her better judgement got looked over and her love for all things animal took over as she nodded her head enthusiastically. It wasn't until after that she thought, maybe looking so eager to go and hang out with this attractive stranger so soon was a bad look. But he offered! It'd be rude to turn down an offer like that. Alice collected herself rather quickly. "I would enjoy that a lot," she said with one more nod.
Alice's smile remained when Aiden commented how cool it was when she mentioned Hogwarts. "He was the Headmaster. He... sort of retired just after I graduated," she said a little awkwardly. Her father was stable now, and it didn't hurt so much to think or speak about him and his condition anymore. However, Alice knew it wasn't something to bring up to a stranger so soon. "Well, if you ever want a good meal - the inn's the place to go. My mum's an excellent cook." She grinned.
The Hufflepuff alum had been so caught up in conversation with Aiden that she hadn't seen the raven trying to get into the bag of insects until Aiden caught him. The way he interacted with Sol brought a small smile to Alice's face. Seeing people love animals just as much as she did always gave her hope for the world they lived in. Alice looked back at Aiden and her face practically lit up when he asked if she had any animals. "I do! I have a Scottish Fold cat and two pygmy puffs," she said happily. "I've been taking care of my father's flying fox bat, too."

Aiden gave a little chuckle when the girl eagerly nodded. He could tell that she was passionate about animals. Almost as much as he was. "Then I guess I'll have to find a place near hear." It wouldn't be that hard. All he would need to do is find a computer and hop on the internet. A simple internet search and a phone call would be all it would take to find one. He would also probably need to transfer some money he got from work into no-mag euros. But that wouldn't be a problem.
The girl seemed a little strange when she said that her father retired after her graduation. But he felt like it was better not to ask. No matter how he enjoyed their conversation, and how comfortable he was with this girl, Aiden knew that they were still technically strangers. "I'm always interested in a good meal" Aiden could make his own food, and he wasn't half bad. At least he thought so. But he truly only had a good home cooked meal feeling when he want home for the holidays. It was something to look forward too. Hearing Alice say that her mother was the one that cooked it, made it feel more homely already. He would for sure go there and check it out.
Sol bounced away as Aiden and Alice began talking again. And Aiden could return his attention to the girl fully again. She mentioned what animals she had and the boy could only smile. "That's amazing. I just have Sol and a little Augury that I'm helping" If Aiden didn't travel so much, he probably would have a slew of animals, but he wanted to have the chance to study all the magical beasts he could. Being able to watch after four different animals was amazing. While he studies beasts as a whole, he knew that every creature, no matter the species, had it's own personality.
