Brandon smirked when Rosie said she didn't want things to be awkward, "You think I'd let them chase you away?" he teased. "Don't worry, I plan on keeping things comfortable with you and my family so I can keep you around as long as you'll let me." Honestly though, the more time Brandon spent with Rosie, the more he wanted to be with her. He wouldn't let anyone jeopardize that, even his family. "I don't want you to leave, and I'm positive I won't get sick of you, Rosie. You come and visit whenever you want. I want you here." This time, Brandon didn't tease her at all. He didn't want there to be any chance of her thinking that he was kidding about it. He wanted to see Rosie as often as he could. He smiled when she told him not to apologize, that she wanted to help. "Well thank you. I appreciate it." He did. Even though he didn't like that he could drink or eat on his own, he was grateful that Rosalie didn't mind helping him. She moved out of his field of vision and the next thing Brandon knew, she was commenting that she didn't know he had a roommate. Brandon paused, realizing that he forgot that as well, once Rosie got here. "There were only three of us that survived from the Durmstrang ship," he answered softly. "Viola is in a different room, not talking to anyone, but they let us be here together. Probably so we don't lose our minds thinking about ... what happened." He closed his eyes as memories of the explosion came rushing back. No, he didn't want to think about that right now. "Is Adonia asleep?" he asked, to try and distract himself from the thoughts. He couldn't imagine why else she'd be so quiet, since she loved talking to people. Yet again, Brandon wished he could turn and look himself, but it was pointless to wish for that. He couldn't do it, not in his condition. rose harriet granger-weasley

He wanted her here. Those words spoken from his mouth made her heart soar. She felt weird about feeling so much love in a time like this, especially since they had only been dating for a few weeks and hadn’t even said ‘I love you’ yet. And she wasn’t sure this was the time. But it was in this moment that she was beginning to feel it. She didn’t want to let him down. She didn’t want to hurt him anymore than he already was. She knew she was going to be there as much as possible until he got out of the hospital, she knew if it was here lying there she’d want him there, so she was so glad that the feelings were reversed too. “Well I’ll be here then. And I’ll try to sneak you in something better than water next time I come.” she promised. She was sure they let him eat and kept him nourished, but the idea of sneaking in a contraband made he feel a little more helpful. And how harmful could a chocolate frog be anyway?
Brandon told her that only three of them had survived on the Durmstrang ship, and she felt both grateful that at least 3 had survived, and upset that only 3 had. “I never saw the list.” she admitted. She hadn’t searched out the list of the dead and the living. Once the professor told her that Brandon was alive she began to count her blessings, until Jamie told her that her brother had died, and then Rosie mourned with her friend. He told her that Viola was in another room and she made a mental note to go and see them. Rosie and Viola had never been introduced, but Rosie knew how important they were to Brandon and she wanted to do what she could for them, if they needed anything. He then asked if Adonia was asleep. Adonia was his roommate? Rosie was both surprised and not surprised. She also felt herself become rather conflicted in other ways, she didn’t like Adonia, not even the slightest bit, however, she was glad that the woman hadn’t died. She would have been glad that anyone was still alive, regardless of who they were. “Yeah, it would seem that she is.” Rosie nodded her head. “Are she and Viola hurt as badly as you?” she asked, going back to sit next to Brandon so he could see her.

Brandon smiled when Rosie said that she'd be here, and that she'd try to sneak him something better than water. "I'll hold you to that," he told her with a wide smile. He wouldn't really, just the fact that she would come to be with him meant more than he could explain. He didn't need anything more than for her to actually visit him. "Thanks for coming, Rosie. I know I'm not good company right now, so thanks." He wanted to make sure she knew he was grateful to her, even though he'd already said that. As she spoke, saying she hadn't seen the list and answering his question about Adonia, Brandon wished he could turn his head. He wanted to see Rosie while she was here. Her being out of his line of sight was annoying, in the least. Then she was back and Brandon gave a small smile before answering her question. "I don't think so. Viola isn't talking, from what I've heard, but Adonia's healing really well. I think she's only supposed to be here a week or so. They don't know how long I'll be here," his voice got softer at the end. He hated the fact that he didn't know what would happen or when. He just wanted to get out and play his music, but Brandon was trying to resign himself to the fact that he wouldn't be playing for a while. rose harriet granger-weasley

“Oh you’re fine company. Stop with the apologizing, Brandon. I wouldn't be here if I didn’t want to be. You’re not a burden - I want to be with you.” she insisted, really wanting him to hear and accept her words. She knew it was hard for him to hear and hard for him to think about. One of the last times they were together he had played her a song he wrote for her, and they both knew that he wouldn’t be able to do that again for a while, however, he could still talk. He could still laugh and smile and he could still be with her. And she wouldn’t miss a chance to be with him. He continued to tell her about the other two, and she nodded as he spoke, listening to his words. “Do you think Viola would hate it if I stopped by to say hello?” she asked. “I know they’re not talking right now, like you say, but I’d like to them to know that I’m thinking about them and that I wish them a well recovery.” she suggested. Brandon knew Viola way better than she did, since she had never met them, but it meant a lot to Rosie to be there for as many people as possible. Especially those who were best friends with her boyfriend.

Brandon couldn't help but smile a little when Rosie told him off, telling him to stop apologizing and that she wanted to be there. "All right, all right. I'll stop being so negative. I'm glad you're here," he told her. He couldn't stop the admiration from showing in his tone. Rosie was just so good and encouraging. A part of him could hardly believe that she was actually here, but she was and just being with her was helping lift his spirits. She asked about Viola and Brandon thought for a moment. "I don't think it could hurt. They probably are pretty depressed right now, so I think you should." He hesitated a moment, "If you want, of course." He wouldn't push Rosie to do anything she wan't comfortable with, but she seemed to want to so he didn't worry about that. Brandon paused a moment, trying to think of something they could talk about. "So ... are you glad to be done with school?" he asked, not entirely sure how she felt about it. rose harriet granger-weasley

He agreed to resolve the issue of him feeling bad for making Rosie be here for him. Since he wanted making her be there for him at all. She felt proud to be there, which was weird for her to think, but she was proud that he trusted her and that they were close enough that she didn’t have to wait in the hallway or wait until he was out of the hospital to see him again. She was glad that he was comfortable with her not only seeing him at his best but also in times like these where he wasn’t quite himself. “I’ll stop by then.” She decided with a firm nod. Even if it was awkward or weird, she wanted to do what she could for Viola, or even just offer a bit of company. The least she could do was bring flowers. He then asked if she was glad to be done with school and she shrugged. “Jamie and I had a really hard time leaving the dorm... and each other.” she admitted, feeling a little silly about it now, but at the time, it had been quite dramatic. “I’m glad that I can be here with you now though.” she admitted. “I wanted to come to you on the night it happened…” she said. She didn’t know if it was a possibility or not. She figured that if it was then someone would have told her. But she also knew he was in a coma and didn’t know if she’d even be allowed in to see him.

Brandon smiled when Rosie decided she would go visit Viola. That was one of the reasons he liked her so much. She cared about people. Even people that she didn't know very well, or people that might push her away. Rosie just wanted to be there for people and make sure they were all right. It was admirable and so ... selfless. And here he was, wallowing in self pity. He should take a leaf out of her book. Maybe he would if he could actually get out of this bed and visit people. Nope, he was still wallowing. She said she had a hard time leaving school, and Jamie and Brandon nodded, "I'm sorry. It's hard to leave a place that you love, and people that you care about." He'd done it a few times and it was never easy. "The good thing is that meeting with people isn't too hard, as long as you make the time." Brandon's smile widened when she said she was glad that she could be here for him. "Me too," he answered honestly. "I missed you, Rosie." Ugh, he wished he could at least hold her hand right now. This was so annoying. Then he sighed. "I was unconscious for a long time, under constant surveillance. It was more than 24 hours before they decided I was stable here, so I don't think the healers would have let you in, even if the school let you leave. I'm sorry." He wasn't apologizing for the accident, more for the fact that she'd been in the dark for so long. rose harriet granger-weasley

He was so sweet. He was so, so sweet. She could see in his eyes and his face how much this was killing him. How much he wanted to move and be able to do the little things that he had probably taken for granted before, and things that she was certainly till taken for granted now. “I want to touch you but I don’t want to hurt you.” Rosie admitted again, she knew she had said it before, but she felt it again, she knew she would constantly be feeling that way until he was out of the hospital, and maybe even still then depending on how he was feeling. He continued to explain what happened and that he was unconscious for so long - she knew that of course. And she hated that he would always have that memory and have to keep reliving it. “Hey you were supposed to stop apologizing.” she said, mostly joking, but also serious. She didn’t want him to think that this was in any way his fault or that apologizing to her was his responsibility. He had nothing to apologize for. “I get to see you now and that’s what matters.” she decided.

Brandon was trying to stay calm and not think about how much he wanted to just get out of this bed and hold her in her arms. He wanted to comfort her sadness about having to leave school and her friends, but he was stuck in this stupid bed. Then Rosie spoke, saying she wanted to touch him, but didn't want to hurt him. "You won't hurt me. I mean, I can't feel it unless you're touching my face," which was awkward to point out, but he wanted to be honest with her. "but you can do whatever you want. Touch my hand, hold it, or whatever. You won't hurt me." He smiled, but it felt hollow to him. Blast it all, he just wanted to be able to feel again! He hated being an invalid. Rosie pointed out that he wasn't supposed to be apologizing anymore. "Sorry," he said automatically, then chuckled, "I mean, my bad. Huh. Guess that's not as easy to stop as I thought it was." He smiled, trying to lighten the mood a bit. He could be dark with Karen and Callisto and even Adonia, but he didn't want to be that way with Rosie. She deserved better than that. "It is," he agreed. "So what are you going to do when you're not here?" he asked curiously, trying not to dwell on thoughts of the hospital. Maybe she could distract him. rose harriet granger-weasley

Brandon answered her question about her fears of hurting him by saying that he couldn’t feel anything except his face. While that was just as worrying to her, because if she put too much pressure on him anywhere and further hurt one of his injuries, she’d feel bad and he wouldn’t be able to feel it to call in a healer. But, she chose to focus on the positive. “Well then.” since he could still feel his face, she leaned over and kissed his forehead gently. And then moved a little lower and kissed him just below each eye. Wishing that she could just kiss him better, but alas, she knew that wasn’t how it worked. She just wanted to be there for him, and help him, and if her kissing him took his mind off of his pain at all, then she was happy to do her part. She ended by leaning down further and kissing his lips, a little more passionately than her normal kisses. When she pulled away, she got herself situated so she could be on the bed with him. It wasn’t exactly a big bed, but she wanted to be close with him and as long as she didn’t hurt him or anything, she could make do. “Uh, well I have some friends in London, almost all of them, actually. So I suppose if I’m not here or Dublin then I’ll be with one of them. Or looking for a job.” she shrugged with a sigh. It sucked that she still lived in Dublin. It was so far away, on an entirely different island.

Rosie's tone was uplifting when she spoke, but Brandon didn't know what she was talking about. Well then ... what? He was about to ask when she leaned over him and kissed his forehead. Brandon smiled and closed his eyes, feeling his emotions start to settle. It was hard to be stressed and upset and distraught around his girlfriend. She knew how to make him feel better, which she further proved when she eventually brought her kiss to his lips. Brandon responded to her kiss fervently, wishing in the back of his mind that he could put his arms around her and pull her closer, kiss her harder. It was interesting how kissing her seemed to distract him from his worries and struggles at the moment, but Brandon was glad. What else did he expect from her? She pulled away, sitting next to him and Brandon was grinning. If only he could move ... ugh, he'd have to really kiss her later, when he could actually move. He listened as she explained that she was with friends or here or at home. "I'm glad you come to visit me," he said, and then found himself curious. "What kind of jobs are you looking for?" He knew she liked writing ... didn't she? But she didn't want to work for the Daily Prophet, if he remembered right. Now he was just curious. rose harriet granger-weasley

Brandon seemed to enjoy her kisses and she was glad that she was able to help. She wanted to do whatever she could do to take his mind off of any pain or upset that he was feeling. She couldn’t imagine it. She really couldn't. Rosie had experienced the horrors of life along with every other Hogwarts student over the past few years, and she herself had been attacked, sort of, earlier in the year by the girl laying in the bed across the room from her boyfriend, but she couldn’t imagine what Brandon was feeling. Or what images would be running through his mind for the rest of his life. “Me too.” she promised with a smile. She was so glad that she had come, and she was glad that she’d be able to continue to come see him. “Um, probably some job writing for a muggle paper somewhere. Maybe London, maybe in Ireland. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to move out of Ireland.” she loved Ireland. But London was the hub of so much. The city was probably a better place for her to be.

She said she was glad that she came too and Brandon smiled. He couldn't help but feel relieved that she wasn't horrified. He knew he must be a mess, but Rosie was just being herself. She smiled at him and kissed him like nothing changed, like all she wanted was to be here with him and that made him feel somehow complete. He didn't want to be a burden to her, and at the moment he didn't feel like one. It was nice. "Have you started looking at muggle papers, like looking at the options?" he asked curiously. Honestly, Brandon didn't really care if she decided to stay in Ireland or come to London, since once he was healed he could just apparate to wherever she was. He wanted to know her thoughts though. "Do your parents care what you choose?" He knew she was close with them, so wondered about that as well. rose harriet granger-weasley

Had she started looking at muggle papers? She shook her head, no. “I haven’t really started looking at all.” she admitted. To be fair, school had just got out and she was fairly sure that she was going to be spending most of her time in London at the hospital, at least until Brandon was back on his feet, but even then. Rosie liked being close to Brandon and would have come to see him even if he wasn’t in the hospital. He was familiar, and being home, back in Dublin, with her parents and knowing that she would never be going back to Hogwarts was unfamiliar. Rosie didn’t do well with the unfamiliar. “I do want to look into muggle papers, though. I feel like that might make the most sense for me.” and it would probably require that she move to London, but that was just a perk. He asked if her parents cared about what she did and she shrugged. “They don’t mind if I stay in Dublin or go live somewhere else. They just want me to find a place that I like being.” she admitted. Her parents were always very open with her and relaxed with her. “But right now i just like being with you.” she decided, in a whisper, leaning down to kiss him again.
